Sharing and syncronization TS configuration and components files

Hi,
We have several TestStand development PCs and we are using Perforce to source control and share the work.
We need to share TS configuration file (TestExec.ini, StationGlobals.ini, Users.ini, etc.) and the following components:
SequentialModel.seq, FrontEndCallbacks.seq and CustomStrings.ini.
We work with configuration files, SequentialModel.seq and MyTypes.ini located under our project (not default TS folders).
1. Is it possible to set custom location also for FrontEndCallbacks.seq and CustomStrings.ini? If yes - how, otherwise - how can we share these files without deployment or manual copying?
2. How to synchronize the frequently changed files - MyTypes.ini, TestExec.ini and StationGlobals.ini? The files format is INI (text).
If two users will change the such file and one will submit the changed file, the second user will get conflict. Is there a convenient way to compare two file versions and resolve the conflict instead of using text comparing program (e.g. Beyond Compare)?
Thanks in advance

Hello Berezka,
TestStand checks for the location of FrontEndCallbacks.seq in two different locations:
<TestStand>\Components\User\Callbacks\FrontEnd
and
<TestStand Public>\Components\User\Callbacks\FrontEnd
If you configure a custom public directory (possibly on a network), then I could see files being shared between two development machines.  The following article explains how to accomplish this task.
How to Configure a Custom Public Directory for TestStand 4.1 and Later
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/42A0D8B0DCEC64FE8625744F007F3A6D?OpenDocument
And as far as a side by side comparison of two files go, I would use the File Diff/Merge application when it comes to .seq files. This application is located at Start»All Programs»National Instruments»TestStand»Tools»File Diff and Merge.  However, I understand we're interested in .ini files.  Beyond Compare may be your best bet, but there are other apps I've found such as TortoiseSVN and ExamDiff.

  • Virtex-5 and Virtex-6 configuration and GSR

GSR is "asserted" thoughout configuration, and de-asserted based on the settings
in your .bit file.  You can see the available options in the properties for "Generate
Programming File" under startup options.  The clock cycles referenced in this section
depend on the configuration mode, usually either CCLK or JTAG TCK.
    HTH,
    Gabor

The description  -ActiveReconfig option (in the Command Line User Guide) suggests that the GSR assertion can be disabled through a bitgen option (which implies it could also be enabled). This disabling is required for avoiding the GSR being appiled during partial reconfiguration downloads. This is copied from the Command Line User Guide.:
    ActiveReconfig
Prevents the assertions of GHIGH and GSR during configuration. This is required for
the active partial reconfiguration enhancement features.
    Devices Virtex®-4, Virtex-5, Virtex-6, Spartan®-3,
    Spartan-3A, Spartan-3E, Spartan-6, and 7 series devices
    Settings No, Yes
    Default No
When a partial bitstream is downloaded, it does NOT seem to initialize the registers (as verified on actual designs) and only a user reset can bring the circuit to a known state. Thus, it seems unlikely that bitstreams load FFs (unlike LUTs or BRAMs). The follwing quote from Partial Reconfiguration Guide also supports this.
"You should assert local reset in the reconfigured logic after reconfiguration has completed to ensure a known good starting state. Unlike a full device configuration, there are no dedicated functions such as GSR (global set-reset) or GTS (global tri-state) to force logic to an initial state."
In summary, missing mention of GSR in the configuration guide startup sequnce, seems just an omission.

    Hi,
I tried to log in to iCloud but a message appears telling me I "can't sign in because my account was disabled for security reasons....reset password at iforgot.apple.com". I don't know why this happened.
I reset both my Apple ID and password.
When I tap Settings iCloud is listed on the left side between General and Mail, Contacts etc.
Tapping iCloud brings up a log in screen for iCloud which shows my old Apple ID and requests the password. If I put the password in I get the message as above.
If I use the new Apple ID/Password I get the message "the maximum number of free accounts have been activated....
In settings there is no option to "Delete Account"
    Any suggestions??

  • Script to perform post server build configurations and validate settings

    Hello!
I would like to create a script that can set numerous Windows server settings and validate that they are indeed set correctly, based on a predefined list of settings.
For example: A third party company deploys servers from templates.  I am tasked with going through the build and verifying certain configurations and settings are set, based on my company's build request. Depending on where the server resides (physically)
    it will get specific settings.
Is there a way to script making the correct changes and also display a validation report that all the settings/attributes that were changed, meet the expected value?
Settings like dns settings, netbios, pagefile size/location, Terminal Server host settings(session limits etc), local admin accounts, windows features, bginfo, drive letters, drive sizes, installed ram, number of cpu cores, date/timezone, and the list goes
on.  I currently run a few batch files to make the changes, but I'm still required to check that the settings are correct.  It would be nice to have all the batch files rolled into a script that makes changes and then runs a validation test against
those changes. Or at the least, make changes and display all of the current values/settings so I can validate they are the correct ones.
I have little scripting/powershell experience.  I could use some assistance to get me going in the right direction.

Here's some intro information that should give you a place to start pulling threads:

  • Class-Map and Policy-Map Configuration in CM Confusion

    Hi,
I'm implementing a green field WAAS deployment for a customer. We currently have a Proof-of-Concept up and running.
I've got some questions regarding custom class-map and policy-map configuration in the CM. I'd like to nail-down the custom class-map and policy-map configuration (and understanding) in the PoC before cutting over the PoC branches to the production WAAS environment.
Assuming a typical WAAS Deployment using WCCP for off-path interception, branch to DC.
==> 61 in LAN (BRANCH ROUTER) <== 62 in WAN        (WAN CLOUD)        ==> 61 in WAN (DC ROUTER) <== 62 in LAN
We are using two distinct device groups, BRANCH and DATA CENTER.
If the customer has traffic that we need to classify in order to provide TFO only optimisation, should the single class-map include the traffic in both directions? Ie., (assume the SERVER is 10.1.1.1 TCP Port 443). Should the class-map be configured as:
    Class-Map
Line 1: DST IP 10.1.1.1 DST Port 443
Line 2: SRC IP 10.1.1.1 SRC Port 443
Or in this case is only the DST line required? And in which Device Group should the custom policy be applied? Or should it be applied to both Device Groups? If it should be applied to both Device Groups, then would it make more sense to have the policy-map in the Branch DG configured to match the DST traffic, and on the Data Center DG have a different class-map match the SRC traffic?
My confusion is how to classify the traffic (SRC or DST or Both - Separate classes for each or different lines within the same class-map), and where to apply the appropriate policy (both Device Groups, just Branch, just DC) and why...
I tried to apply a custom policy and the impact in the PoC was that the TCP Summary report stopped reporting the individual traffic classes showed 'other traffic' only. Can anyone explain why this may have occurred?
    I hope this makes sense.

    for instance like this:
    policy-map police-in
    class class-default
    police rate 10 mpbs <optionally set burst>
    policy-map shape-out-parent
    class class-default
    shape 10 mpbs <optional burst config>
    service-policy shape-out-child
    policy-map shape-out-child
    class class-default
    queue-limit 10 packets
    int g 0/0/0/0
    service-policy police-in in
    service-policy shape-out-parent out
also have a look at CL 2013/2014 (orlando/sanfran) ID 2904 for more QOS details

  • How to configure and use KM

    Hi Experts,
Iam new to KM.We need to configure KM for our client. When I surfed internet ,I can see only explanation on KM but I need steps for configuration and details about how well KM can be used. Share me the documents, procedures and steps to configure and use KM.
Currently Iam working on KM Navigation Iview and I have following doubts
    1) Is there a way to allot some space in KM automatically when users are newly created.Under Userhome link of KM , for the newly created users a seperate link is automatically created .Do I have to assign that to user for using KM.
2)Can we restrict space for each user in KM.
3)How to configure and customize context menu in KM navigation iview.

    Hi Karthiheyan,
Still I have further requirement like How to transfer all datas of KM from one server to a new server for all the users (also how to create back up?
Through KM Tranport you can transport  the contents from server to server
For KM content transport go through the below help document

How to customize the various options like view , actions ,settings present under Details option?
For the context menu of folder New->Forms->...How to restrict this forms visibility?
This can be done using the Layout set, there you will be having collection render, resource render, details setting through which the options can be customized and  the customized layout should be used in field layout set in the KM Navigation Iview. For further understanding go through the below document.

  • BPC NW and Related BW Configuration

    Hi All,
We are currently in development stages of BPC NW.  I have a question regarding the BPC  and BW server configuration and load balancing.
Our BW user base is about 200.
When we implement BPC we are targeting to roll it out to a initial group of 100 BPC users. Per our understanding all place calls to the existing BW application/database servers to get their reports.
Are there any sizing documents/guidelines that talk about the tuning that is required to the existing BW servers to accomodate BPC users as well?
    Thanks,
    Shai

    Hi Shai-
Please see attached docuement that describes the sizing requirements for SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation version for Netweaver installation.

  • Material Type Configuration and Creating Z configured Material Types

    All-
Every solution architect I have contacted has told us that itu2019s standard practice to create copies of standard SAP material types (and all other configuration) and then update configuration to make the object client specific rather than just modifying SAP standard.  You do that because when SAP delivers upgrades they may update standard configuration keys and that can cause disruptions.  We talked to some folks at SAP who told us the same thing.
My Client had previously agreed to this but now some of their IT resources have pushed back with their primary argument being u201Cthis hasnu2019t affected us for the last 15 years so we want to continue with what we haveu201D i.e. modifying configuration and customizing the SAP delivered material types.  Theyu2019ve also found some SAP documentation that says itu2019s fine to do it either way.  I donu2019t have the depth of technical knowledge to get into all of the arguments for / against this.
Request u2013 Can anyone point us to a position paper or document that states why we suggest this (reasons, pros, consu2026) or someone that could provide us with the expertise to clearly state why and what the consequences are if they donu2019t?  Or if this is really just something that is suggest based upon the potential for problems and they can do whatever they want?
Any information would be greatly appreciated

You obviously can modify a lot of standard objects because the config. option is there.
The main reason not to is because they act as models e.g. what is the SAP standard model for configuration of a Traded material (in the given Solution, Country etc.).  If you have copied the std and modified the Z version you can always refer back to the std if you run in to unexpected difficulties. If you've modified the std, you have no model to refer to.  If you modify the std and it then doesn't do what you want or you hit an issue of some form, you pretty much have to figure out why yourself because SAP would probably charge you.
Material Types in particular involve a huge potential number of fields (900+) and complex field selection.
If you do modify a standard, at least document exactly what changes were made so you and subsequent support personnel can understand how the object has been modified. 'Small' modifications of objects you may well have no future issue with, 'big' modifications of big objects could well come back to haunt you.

  • Setup and Configure IM Components SSO and DAS on Replica RMS Node

    Dear All,
    I was trying the step
Step 5: How to Setup and Configure IM Components SSO and DAS on Replica RMS Node In Multimaster Replication (MMR) with Identity Management (IM) Cluster in High Availability Env
But, at the stage to connect to OID, it is not connecting to the RMS database.
When I checked login through ODM, it is connecting fine. also, ldapbind is also binding fine.
How to solve this ? What will be the issue and where to check it ?
Also, from the RMS, when I am connecting through EM console, I am not getting any output on Infrastructure link to change the passwords. its showing
    Identity Management
Error retrieving information of default metadata repository.
Unable to establish secure connection to Oracle Internet Directory Server ldap://devportal.paaf.gov.kw:636/ Base Exception : javax.naming.AuthenticationException: [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials]
If there is any experts, pls reply. Because, last time I created a TAR and it took months to resolve and ultimately nothing happened they closed the TAR after some time as I was busy with some other works and not able to proceed with the synchronization.

  • Windows XP and OS X 10.5.2 file sharing

    Hello,
I want to be able to transfer files between my Dell PC and Mac. With my limited knowledge on these things, I was able to connect the PC to the Mac (via "Map Network Drive"). Also, the Mac recognizes my Dell PC (it is listed under "Shared" in Mac HD), but when I select the PC the connection fails. Two things are bothering me about this: 1) When I click "Connect to Server" I am able to access the shared folder on the PC, 2) The Mac is able to connect and share with a Dell Laptop with no problem.
Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your help.
    -Johnny

    Johnny-
I have a Dell 4500 (P4) and a PowerBook-G4 and have always found filesharing to be a bit "quirky" (as in, "Today it works, tomorrow, it don't ;-)). I am also at 10.5.2.
To start, I can communicate both ways now--without mapping drives--and after trying everything in these forums with varying success, I only got full two-way sharing when I TURNED SIMPLE FILESHARING ON on the Dell!
Okay, while I marvel at the elegance of some peoples' solution here, I can offer offer several settings I'm having success with, without knowing whether they are are all necessary. But with all the aggravation associated with networking since Leopard, I assume you'll take it if it works.
Not exact chronological order, but close...
I tried a tip I read and set up a Sharing-Only "Guest" account ON THE MAC. First, via the "System Preferences->Sharing->Check File Sharing, click on OPTIONS, and then "via SAMBA" for the Mac-to-Dell communication. Note: When you do that you will be checking your main user account name as the shared account.
Alright, over to Mac's User Accounts (in System Preferences). There I set up a user called "Guest" and gave it "SHARING ONLY" status. I remember reading that this "sharing-only" Guest user should be given the SAME LOGIN PASSWORD as your own Mac account AND that you should give this account ADMINISTRATIVE status. Hey, I did it. It works. I will leave it to others to explain why this might lead to your eventual death by parasitic dysentery!
Over these many years of trying to get my Dell and Mac to make nice, I also heard that giving your Dell account and your Mac account the same password is also "a good thing."
    Moving right along ...
On the Dell, I used to hear about turning off the Guest account, but then "enabling it via the Terminal"--I mean, what's up with that?? Far as I can see, you just have to check one thing about the guest account on the Dell.
In Terminal on the Dell--Ooops, Excusez-moi, svp! At the "Command Prompt" , type "net user guest" ("without the quotes" yada, yada) and hit Return. It should spew out some info on the Guest account. ONLY ONE VALUE MATTERS: About 1/4 of the way down, look for the "Active" property (left-hand column) and make sure it says "YES" to its right. If you haven't turned off your guest account, it should.
But just in case it doesn't, Type: "net user guest /active:yes" (I could have sworn that "active=yes" used to work ... oh well) and then hit Return. Windows should respond with "Command completed successfully" (which, of course, Windows would display even if the command did absolutely nothing!). Then again type "net user guest" and be sure "Active" equals "YES."
    We're almost there.
BIGGIE: I could only make all of this work when I assigned STATIC IP ADDRESSES to each computer on the home network (Linksys BEFSR41_v2 and Linksys WAP54G_v1). Of course, since Leopard/10.5 I have also had to convert to Zoroastrianism to make Airport stop doing all the incredibly mean and spiteful things that everyone else is writing about. Plus, I've had to put the wireless access point so freaking close to the Powerbook that I can actually unplug the access point and connect the Ethernet right to the PowerBook! But then the wire runs "all the way across the living room"--which my wife believes just isn't appropriate. BUT IT ALL WORKS! (The marriage and the network.)
Johnny, at the Dell I just went to "My Network Places," "Add Network Place", ignore that screen that "pretends" to be browsing for I-have-no-idea-what, then press NEXT (?) and for the name of the server type:
\\<the Powerbook's IP address>\<the FULL NAME of your Mac user account>
    For me that's "\\192.168.1.100\Paul Revere"
and when you press NEXT, Windows converts what you entered into the name it intends to assign to the Powerbook server and allows you to modify it.
Funny thing? If you set up that "share-only" Guest account on the Mac, you can substitute "Guest" for your username. Hopefully someone will chime in and explain what the heck is going on here. Maybe one's better? I use one on each of two computers.
Then, when you double-click that beautiful yellow thingy with your Mac's name below it, Voila!, you see all the shares you (hopefully!) set up over in "System Preferences->Sharing" (which is another whole lesson, I'm afraid--but I bet you've got that down already).
LAST THING: Well, not really. I want to say I was only kidding about having to convert to Zoroastrianism for this to work (Gawd, I hope there aren't really any Zoroastrianists (?!) still around, in which case I sincerely apologize and meant no disrespect!) NOW the LAST THING (really!): In Leopard you probably already know that you have to enter the Windows/Samba "Workgroup" name in the WINS tab at "System Preferences->Network->Advanced button->WINS tab." BUT, DON'T FORGET TO TAP APPLY WHEN YOU GET BACK OUT TO THE NETWORK PANEL or everything you did at Advanced->WINS won't "take."
Then on the Powerbook, I just click Shared in the Sidebar, double-click my Dell's icon, and -- only the first time -- I enter a username and password ("Save to my ..."). And here's the real username versus Guest issue again: If the Dell is set up like mine, Guest WILL (should) work. If not, enter the full name of the Windows user account--the passwords will all be the same. Then the Finder window will fill with all of the shared folders on your Dell. It brings tears to my eyes every time! (I think my wife's secretly contacting calling a shrink ;-)).
Johnny, on the Dell I just go to "My Network Places," double-click on "Entire Network" and then on "Microsoft Windows Network." A second or two later that blue tripod-like icon appears with my workgroup name below it (magic!!), I double click it and then I see the computer I'm sitting at (very useful), my Powerbook, and any other box that's powered up!
    Phew!
Feel free to ask for clarification. Good luck.

  • Sharing with others but only allow author and co-author to share the file with others

I have tested this option but have difficults to have the proper function.
If a co-author recieves a link to the document that the author has shared with him.
What is the mechanism that hinders this person to read that file that the co-author has send him.
I have been playing with myself in diffrent roles but running out of mail adresses and understanding.....
    Please give an explanation.
    regards

In the sharing dialog (where you enter the email addresses) there is a link at the bottom that says "More options". This is where you can adjust the re-sharing options. Default is "Everyone the file is shared with can share it with others (at their own role or lower). The other option is "Only let co-authors share this file with others."
After the file has already been shared you can change the sharing options by doing the following:
Select the file in the Acrobat.com organizer (files tab)
Select share file (either in the lower left of the window or select Share Document from the drop down menu)
Click on Change options at the bottom of the menu that slides up from bottom left
Co-authors have the same rights as an author and there is currently not a setting to prevent co-authors from sharing. If they do not need to have the same rights as an author, try changing them to a reviewer or reader and changing the share option to "Only let co-authors share this file with others."
You can find more information about the different roles here.
If I've misunderstood your question, please post again.

  • Cloned Configuration and Answer File

    Hi all,
I am adding a 2nd Exchange 2010 Edge Server to my environment.
The first Edge server is already running and there is a subscription with my Hub Transport server.
I have followed various TechNet articles on doing a cloned config, but I seem to be running into a problem with the answer file.
    technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996008(v=exchg.150).aspx
The only thing I see in the answer file is:
    <MachineSpecificSettings>
      <ReceiveConnector Name="Default internal receive connector Server2">
        <!-- Validation failed -->
        <Fqdn>server2.domain.com</Fqdn>
      </ReceiveConnector>
    </MachineSpecificSettings>
A second TechNet article says the following:
    technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998622(v=exchg.150).aspx
You will need to manually modify the answer file to provide the following information about server-specific settings:.
•For each Receive connector entry, fill in the local network bindings. If the local network bindings are left blank, an error will occur when you try to import the configuration onto the target server.
What format do I use to add the local network bindings?  My new server is server1.domain.com.
    Thanks,
    RickD

    Hi RickD,
I suggest follow up following link to find the local network bindings and fill it:

  • How do I connect a Maverick imac and a snow leopard mac pro file sharing

I am trying to connect an imac running Maverick,  and an older mac pro 1,1 running snow leopard.  The mac pro does not have airport.  I have tried connecting using my wireless router:  mac pro ethernet conencted and wifi with imac, but I either cannot connect or it takes forever.  I need a more reliable solution.  I bought an airport card for the mac pro. I hurt my foot, and am laid up, and have to access the massive files on the mac pro and external drives with the imac.  They are about 75 feet apart.  The imac uses the wirteless router just fine, which is next to the mac pro.  Which is the better solution,  buying a long enough eitehrnet cable, and direct connect, or install the airport card and connect using airport?  One more concern, I noticed my neighbor has  a mac, and his mac keeps showing up on the network as a lockede but selectable mac.  I am concerned about my security.  Which is best, and what is the sequence to set it up?  I can see that a step by step process with proper sequence and settings is critical to get tis to work.  Thanks for any help.

How are you currently trying to connect? The easiest method for setting up across operating systems would be to connect using AFP, the standard protocol Macs use to share files over a network (though, SMB2 is now the default method in Mavericks). Are you attempting to simply transfer data from one machine to the other, or set up a local network between these machines? If it is the former, the easiest method may be to use an external HDD to copy data from one machine and then transfer it to the other.
    See below for AFP:
Mac Basics: File Sharing - Support - Apple
    And a youtube video:
Mac 10.6 OS X Tutorial - File Sharing -AFP FTP and SMBS - Video ...
One more concern, I noticed my neighbor has  a mac, and his mac keeps showing up on the network as a lockede but selectable mac.
This is normal. You would need to explicitly grant your neighbor access to your machine for him to access anything on the machine, just as you need to do the same with your own computer you are attempting to connect.
