Sharing objects between different tabs on a JTabbedPane

Does anyone know how to share objects on different tabs of a JTabbedPane? I.e., I want the same buttons/corporate logo to appear on each tab in the same location, and thus the same functionality, locations, look, etc...
Currently, if I invoke the add(Component) method for the same component but for different panes, only the pane that had the last add() method called contains the object.
Thanks,
adam

An instance of a GUI component can only be in one place in the GUI (visible or not).
You could make your own component class (extending JPanel and containing other components you want) and then create an instance of this for each tab.

  • Compare DB objects between different schemas

    Hi,
I want to compare db objects beween 2 different schemas like QA and PROD.
Please suggest me a tool that compares table definitions, stored procedures and other db objects between different schemas.

Did you check the above video link which is shared?
Yes I'd agree with you and also i faced these situations to check what objects i need to export from Dev to Quality ( to analyze what are already correct or what have to be imported again)
Generally Quality & Prod are in sync.
Also will be waiting along with you if anyone comments on any such tool.

  • Import objects between different SCV

    Hi,
How can Import objects between different Software Component Versions
    Thanks

    Hi Sud,
what do you mean by "import objects"? you mean swcv dependencies?
you can make swcv dependencies in SLD.
suppose if you have swcv x and y.if you want to access objects in x from y then in SLD select swcv y,in dependencies tab add swcv x.
now all objects in swcv x are displayed under swcv y as <b>basis objects</b>.
Please let me know if your requirement is different.
    Cheers,

  • Sharing songs between different iTunes accounts on the same Mac

    Hello
I am a newbie to Mac. My wife and I both have seperate iTunes accounts set up on our seperate user accounts on our MacBook. Can we share songs between our accounts?

The process for sharing libraries is much [easier in iTunes 8|http://forums.macworld.com/thread/105366?tstart=0]. If you simply want to share a few songs, you are better off having a copy of those tracks in each of your libraries, but there is little point to that as you can access each other’s libraries in read-only fashion.

  • Sharing music between different accounts - is this how it works?

The way iTunes shares music between different users seems a bit poor.
I have two user accounts set up on the same PC, with music files accessed by each from the same folder (as described here: How To Share Music Between Different Accounts On A Single Computer).
    My main issues are:
    1) I have to manually add new music added by the other user instead of it just appearing in iTunes.
    2) iTunes doesn't recognise if a music file is already in the joint library, so we end up with two copies of things (particularly tiresome for podcasts).
Am I doing something wrong - maybe there is an easy way around this?
... or do the people at Apple need to do a bit of work here?
    Pentium 4   Windows XP

By default, any new file or folder created is set to be read+write for the creator, and read-only for everyone else. The file creator can grant write access to other users by changing the permissions on a folder and its contents, as Neil suggests. But you'll have to repeat that process every time a new file is added.
Fortunately, there is a way to automatically grant read+write access to all files created or copied to the folder. First go to System Preferences -> Accounts. Click the + button under the users list. Then, make a new group; calling it "sharegroup" or something similar. Add the users you want to the group.
Then put all the files you want to share into a commonly-accessible folder, such as a subfolder in /Users/Shared.
Then log in to an admin account and open Terminal. Paste in the following two lines:
    sudo chmod -R +a "sharegroup allow delete,chown,list,search,add_file,\
    addsubdirectory,delete_child,file_inherit,directoryinherit" \
Press return, then drag the folder into the Terminal window, and press return again. Enter admin password when prompted and press return. That should do it. Everything there now should be fully writable by all users in sharegroup. New files that are *created in* or *copied to* the folder will be the same way.
Files that you *move in* from a different location on the same hard drive won't be, though. So make sure you copy previously existing files into the sharefolder instead of moving them (hold down option key while dragging to copy) so that they get the custom permissions applied.

  • Sharing music between different accounts on a single computer

I have read the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203 , but I'm still having a problem.
Scenario: Two Ipods, one PC (WinXP), one big music library, originally created and stored directly in C:\My Music, which is accessible to all users of the PC. From my non-admin account, I add folders and files to my itunes library, modify songs and artwork, no problem. Now my son has an iPod, and I would like to be able to share out portions of the C:\My Music library with him. It kind of works. He adds files and folders to his library, on his account, in his itunes. The music is there, but it is somehow protected. No artwork, in fact I get the "artwork is not modifiable" message. Nor can he modify any info in the songs. In a few cases, the artwork comes with the songs, but mostly not. In either case, no info in the songs are modifiable. Neither of our Windows XP user accounts are admin, but why does my account seem to "own" the songs? He's not going to be happy without any artwork in his library or on his ipod.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Shared object and different application servers - how to resolve this issue

    Dear SDN Members,
We are occuring a big problem. We create a shared object in a program and after we call in an another one. In central system architecture, it is working well. But on a distributed architecture (4 application servers), we have a dump some times. In fact, the read of the shared object can be occured in the AS 4 but the share object has been created in AS1.
How to manage this problem to avoid this dump ?
Dupplicate the shared object in the application servers ?
Encapsulate different calls with RFC link to only one AS ?
Any parameters on server or share objects ?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Points will be given to right or good answers.
    Br,
    Aurélien

What is the dump you are getting ?
AFAIK, "Shared Memory"(SHM) is an area defined in the app server. I am not sure if you can access SHM of a different app server (as in your case trying to access SHM of AS1 from AS4). [http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABENSHARED_MEMORY_GLOSRY.htm]
In this case you can opt for "DataBase Clusters". Relevant ABAP statements: [IMPORT|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPIMPORT_MEDIUM.htm#!ABAP_ALTERNATIVE_4@4@]/[EXPORT|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABAPEXPORT_DATA_CLUSTER_MEDIUM.htm#!ABAP_ALTERNATIVE_4@4@] FROM/TO DATABASE.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sharing files between different users on same computer

how do I go about sharing files between two users on the same computer?
also, what about iTunes, can I transfer songs between users, or do I have to pay for it everytime, even though it's on the same computer?

You can control sharing of a user's itune library in the sharing preference. It is good for users on the same computer and the same local network (usually your house of small office).
As for files on another users folder, they have to either change the permissions of the parent folder (get info) or put the file to be shared into the public folder.

  • Sharing libraries between different user accounts on same Mac

I am having difficulty sharing the same library between two different user accounts. I thought it would be simple matter of allowing the second user account access to the itunes folder in the first user's home folder and then changing location of second user's library in Advanced menu of second user's iTunes. However, second user iTunes still acts as though it is pointed at its default library. Can anyone help me here?

thanks, zevoneer. apparently, I gave up too early in my own search. I'm trying it now - the copy process is taking some time. Well, I had hoped to narrow the access down to only one other account but at least this should provide the access that is needed.

  • Sharing photos between different accounts on a single comp

I wish to not only share my photos with my wife's account on my computer, but let her import photos, etc. With iTunes, I was able to move the music folder to the /users/shared directory and then change the folder location preference in iTunes.
iPhoto, however, does not have this preference allowed. How can I give a different account on my Mac full capability with my iPhoto library? I am running iPhoto 4 on OS 10.3.9
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Adam,
iPhoto was not designed to be a multi-user application. While you can let other accounts view your photo collection by sharing, it gets messy when more than one owner has add and delete capabilities.
Having said that, you could probably do a similar thing with the iPhoto Library folder as what you've described with iTunes. Refer to the iPhoto Help topic "Moving the iPhoto Library to a new location".

  • Help - Sharing media between different accounts on single iMac not working

So, we have an iMac with 2 user accounts.  We wanted to simply share the media between accounts and I read these instructions from Apple Support which are very straightforward and easy enough to follow.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1203
Basically, the article states you move the "iTunes Media" folder into the Public or other Shared file location and then you point each user account's copy of iTunes to that specific location for the iTunes media folder in preferences/advanced menu.
All of that was very simple and worked great, but the only problem is on the 2nd user account when I re-open iTunes, none of that media is there.  I checked again inside the 2nd user iTunes preferences/advanced and it is definitely pointing to the right place.  Per the specific instructions in the article, I tried both ~/Public as well as the Users/Shared too - both times I can see it fine from the main account but nothing from the 2nd user account.
Does anyone have any suggestions??  Thanks!

  • Sharing Authentication between different weblogic istances

    Hi,
    I'm using WebLogic 10.3.5.
Is there a way to share only the authentication (getRemoreUser() info) between 2 distinct ear, each deployed on different weblogic istances (same WL domain) and with only one of them under my control?
I done it successfully when the 2 ears were deployed in the same weblogic istance.
What about If I were using OHS (virtual hosts) as an "access point" to the 2 ears?
    P.S. I can't use SSO,
    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,
    S.

Turns out it does matter what domain you are accessing each app with--I was using our Apex development domain to test, and it was bombing out. When I used the same domain as the Designer forms and cookie domain, it worked like a charm.

  • Sharing calendars between different macs but same .mac account

I need to share ical calendars between 2 store locations and my home office. I have only 1 .mac account, and I created a new calendar on each machine and sent the publish email from each machine to the other ones to invcite them to subscribe. That was working fine, but now, when i loggon to one machine it has the wrong calendar as read only. so it seems, that .mac doesn't know which computer is the owner of each calendar.
    has anyone encountered this?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    You need to start over:
.Mac is for synchronising, not for publish/subscribe. You need to keep the original calendar(s) and unsubscribe from the remote locations. Next, [on each machine] enter your dotmac account details in the dotmac System Preference Pane. The click on the second tab "Sync", choose to "Synchronise with .Mac Automatically" after you have checked the box next to Calendars.
You will be prompted on your first sync to establish which is the master data: on the machine with your original calendars choose to overwrite .Mac with data from this mac; on the others choose to overwrite data on this mac with data from .Mac.
You should then have read/write access to all the calendars on all the machines (provided each of them is using the same dotmac account).
Make sure you back-up valuable data before starting.

  • Sharing objects between projects/diagrams

    Hello,
I need to use few entities and domains that are completely defined in one diagram also used in another diagram, which represents different project.
It is only that some objects are common, like entities and domains.

    Hi Ivan,
One approach is to open your project and then select Import > Data Modeler Design from the File menu.
In the Import Design dialog, select the .dmd file for the other project containing the common entities.
Then in the Design Import Wizard, select the "Logical Model" row.  Then select Next and Finish.
The Compare Data Modeler Designs dialog should be displayed.
You can then deselect the entry at the top of the tree (to deselect everything in the tree).
Then expand the Logical Model node and then the Entities node, and select those Entities that you want to add.
    Then select the Apply button.
This will import those Entities and any Domains that they use.
    David
