Sharing slo mo videos

I love the new slo mo video feature in the 5s, but I am at a loss when it comes to sharing. It seems like WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. can't render it in slo mo when I share.
Anyone know why, or what I may be doing incorrectly?

Use PhotoStream for what? To share on WhatsApp? What if the folks I am sharing with have no iOS device? Can I still share with them via PhotoStream? (Not a snark, a naive question.)
Update your info here:
iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: Your photos will appear in the My Photo Stream album in the Photos app. If you're using iOS, you can find your photos by tapping the Photo Stream tab, then tapping the My Photo Stream album. In iOS 5, your photos are in the Photo Stream album.
Mac: Your photos appear in the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture. In iPhoto 9.4 or later or in Aperture 3.4 or later, open the My Photo Stream album in the Photo Stream view.
PC using Windows 8: From the Start screen, select iCloud Photos (or Photo Stream in iCloud Control Panel 2.0 to 2.12).
PC using Windows 7: Click the Windows Start button, then click Pictures. Click iCloud Photos or Photo Stream under the Favorites menu in the panel on the left. Double-click My Photo Stream to view your photos.
Apple TV: After signing in with your iCloud account, you can view your photos by choosing iCloud Photos or Photo Stream from the main menu (or selecting Internet > Photo Stream in Apple TV Software Update 5.0).

  • Sharing iphone6 plus slo-mo videos

The iphone6 plus takes great slo-mo videos. When I send them as messages or post to instagram, however, it's just the boring normal speed video. Is there no way of sharing the slo-mo videos?

same here. something seams to be wrong with the format. hope there is a fast bug fix

Slo mo videos show entirely in slo mo from beginning to end once transferred in to iPhoto, not in the regular/slo mo/regular speed in iPhone 6 (adjustable). Any ideas on how to maintain this?

Hi. I don´t use Iphoto, but after trying too upload from the Facebook app, I found out that the video isn´t saved as a finished video. (you can still edit it)
I used the iMovie  app to save the movie as new finished movie. Open iMovie , those video, select your video, click the share button i down right corner. Push create movie (I guess, mine is in danish) play the movie or not, push the back button, change the name or not, push the share button, save the the movie. Now I think the movie can be exported to iphone. It also can also be shared in the Facebook app i closed groups, so you don´t have to put in on your wall first.
    Hope this helps

  • Slo-mo videos no longer slo-mo when synced with computer

Hey everyone!  I have been having the same issue as many of you in dealing with slo-mo videos not playing back in slo-mo once they have been synced with a computer.  For Mac users, I have found a solution, although it is fairly inconvenient:
AirDrop the files to your iPhone!
You will have a duplicate of the video, but the one downloaded through AirDrop plays back in slo-mo on your phone, and you can edit it as well.  This is the best solution I have come up with thus far, given the mess-ups on Apple's end.

  • Slo-Mo video doesn't send properly

So sharing a Slo-Mo video over a txt message or email doesn't actually send the video in Slo-Mo. It plays at normal speed.
Am I doing something wrong? I can watch the video in slo-mo on my phone but as soon as I share it on FB or iMessage or email it plays at normal speed.

So I contacted support on this. I was told that the iphone seems to be saving the file as a RAW file, which is why you can go back and edit the time frame of slow motion at any time.
He said that's the way it is meant to work, however he did agree that it was not an optimal way for an end user and to put a feedback request at www.apple.com/feedback and he was actually going to do the same thing.
basically the request is to be able to save the RAW file as a separate file, Kinda like how the HDR feature worked in the past.
Other than that, not much that you can do besides copying the file to the computer and use video editing software to make it happen since the file is recorded in 120fps but it's RAW.

  • Slo-mo videos in regular speed on iPhone 6 after syncing with iPhoto

Hi, I took a bunch of slo-mo videos during my daughter's bday party with my iPhone 6 (upgraded from iPhone 5) and then imported them onto iPhoto on my MBP in the evening. My usual practice is to delete photos & videos from the iPhone after importing so that I can then selectively choose what gets synced back on with iPhoto albums while "Include videos" is checked. After syncing, I noticed that the slo-mo videos, which are still listed in the Slo-mo album on my iPhone (with the little slo-mo icon in the bottom left of each thumbnail as well), now only play in normal speed! In iPhoto, the videos still correctly play in slo-mo showing 240 fps in the info panel. Anyone have any ideas how I can restore the "slo-mo" when viewing on the iPhone 6? Very odd!
    Thanks,
    Frank

  • Can't stream slo mo videos to Apple TV via AirPlay

    I have a 5S and 6 Plus, both on iOS 8.1.
I have an Apple TV (very latest 3rd gen model).  My mum has the same model at her house.  Both Apple TVs are on iOS 8.1.
I cannot get slo mo videos from 5S or 6 Plus to stream to AppleTV via AirPlay.  It doesn't matter if I just try normal streaming or Mirroring, they won't play.  They don't play on the iPhone screen or the TV.  If I disconnect from AirPlay, they play on the iPhones just fine.
Normal videos (i.e. not slo mo) play fine on Apple TV.
Both Apple TVs are connected via Ethernet.  iPhone 5S and 6 Plus connected via 5Ghz WiFi (802.11n for 5S and 802.11ac for 6 Plus).
    Any ideas?

Same problem here with iPhone 5s. I've tried restarting every device, but slo-mo video stubbornly refuses to play via Apple TV. All other video displays fine.

  • Slo mo videos are no longer accessible

I've been taking some slo mo videos lately and was planning to back them up to my raid storage as soon as iPhone's memory went critical.
So yesterday I noticed I had less than a gig available. So I though I'd back them up tonight. So when I got home tonight I went in to do so and I first checked my available space. Weirdly it was 3,4 gigs... ˆˆ
Ok I though I probably was wrong yesterday but I should just back up anyway.
I connected the phone with the photos app and went straight to the slo - mo videos. I was amazed to see that only half or even less than that were available to import! That's when I started to worry. I quickly imported those and went looking for the rest. On the iPhone they still appear there. I had checked to backup everything on the iCloud, keeping the full original file there when space on the iPhone is required. I suppose that's what happened so I tried to find those files on the photos app. Weird... my iCloud photos are not available on the photos app. I mean I don't see an iCloud section there. The actual photos are there I suppose but they seem to be imported from iPhoto. Besides I also import photos using the manual import from the photos app so photos are there but can't tell which ones are on the iCloud.
If I go to iCloud.com I see all the iCloud photos and all the videos but the slo-mo videos are not the original ones. Trying to download them you get compressed versions in mp4 of the original mov file that I captured. That means that the slo mo is gone. Much of the information is gone, and also the beginning and end parts that were displayed in normal motion are no longer moveable. They are fixed!
Going to the iPhone the slo mo videos are available but when you try to play them back a continuous loading keeps telling you to wait. They refuse to play back.
So you can't download them there either.
    Are my videos lost?

I am having similar issues.... :)Tami

  • Itunes in windows fails to play Shared Library's Video!!!

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a bug but I have thoroughly tested it in both Vista and XP.
If I share my Itunes' Library and access it from another PC (vista or XP tested), it can list the tvshows/movies/podcasts just fine, but when I play it, nothing happens. I see some network activity for brief 3-4 seconsd and then it stops.
The videos were imported into itunes on the macbook pro just fine (meaning the encoding is fine, MP4) and when I copied those videos file manually over to the PCs, the play fine too. Even if I share them over the network through SMB, they play fine streaming. They only fail when I play them through itunes' shared library.
95% of the videos fail, except for a few that I noticed and have not yet figured out a pattern. Videos that seems to work are 1) the downloaded guided tour video of iLife08 2) the mac tips podcasts from apple 3) a movie I converted using Quicktime into MP4 from divx
    Any ideas?

This may indeed be the Windows version of iTunes (and QuickTime) being fussier than the Mac version.
However I did in Windows XP, take a video that would not work, export it using QuickTime Pro (on Windows) with the Prepare for Streaming option ticked, and the resulting video did then work, also taking the same original video that did not work and in iTunes 7.4.3 (on Windows) and converting it to AppleTV format, also produced a version that then did work for iTunes Sharing.
A video can be in MPEG4 format (or H.264) and meet the Apple specifications for iPod or Apple TV resolution, but it is quite possible it may not have been 'prepared for streaming'.
There have been similar reports from FrontRow (in Mac OS X) users accessing videos from an iTunes Share and having problems (typically very poor performance) and when they used the prepare for streaming option the problems went away.

Okay, as I'm working through this I see that I have to add the "Admin" account to each file with "read only" permission.  Simply changing the "everyone" account access does nothing.
So how do I change the permissions settings in iPhoto or Aperture to give each exported file the desired permissions?  I cannot locate a setting in the iPhoto or Aperture applications.
Also, I added a password to the user account.  It did not change how files are output.

  • How to upload slo-no videos to any cloud storage apps?

    Dear friends,
i ve have many slo-mo videos on my iPhone. And, when I tried to upload it to my personal cloud storage app(Google drive, one drive, flikcr) it just got uploaded as a normal video. I've lost the slo-mo in it.
It would be really helpful if anybody here help me to upload slo-mo videos as it is!
    Thanks,
    Ram

What did you use to convert them?
In the Video's Pane make sure that the movies you want to sync are selected to be synched over.

  • TS4526 Can't access shared photo stream videos on my Apple TV, ?

I have an Apple TV that is a couple of years old and can't access shared Photo Stream videos. Is this something that only the third generation Apple TV can do? I don't have any problem using an iPad 3, iPhone 5 or 5S to access these videos so I suspect it is a limitation with the older Apple TV. My cousin has a newer Apple TV and can view these videos but I can't see them.

Have your husband check to see if he can view those 9 photos in full view or the edit mode.

  • How do I export or share slo-mo video

Does anyone know how to export or share the new slo-mo video on an iphone5s? Every time I try to email or text, it reverts to normal speed. I tried opning it in imovie for ios, with the same results.

That's weird. 10.0.6 has this same share path / feature. It is on the far right hand side. (In fact, my image IS from 10.0.6)
Sounds like you need to gain some basic FCPX skills. There are many tutorials on line. (And some people in this discussion group offer courses / books.) See: Tom Wolsky

Use the best Skype experience on your computer
    Hello .......,
It looks like you’ve signed into two Skype for Windows apps ‒ Skype for Windows desktop and Skype for modern Windows ‒ on your Windows 8 device.
We’re simplifying your experience down to one app that you can use either with your mouse and keyboard or with touch. Going forward you’ll only need to use the Skype for Windows desktop app. This app has more features to help you stay connected like screen sharing and group video calling. Also, your chat conversations (from the last 30 days) and all your contacts will appear as normal.
Note: From 7 July, 2015 you’ll no longer be able to sign into the Skype for modern Windows app.

  • Photos: Shared tab shows "No Shared Photos or Videos" but they are there

After taking photos on my iPhone, I have created many shared photo streams using my iPad and I have always used the iPad to view them.  But for some reason, now they don't appear on the iPad when I go into Photos app and tap on the Shared icon at the bottom.  All it see is "No Shared Photos or Videos" instead of the 15 or so shared streams I have.
All my shared streams appear both on the iPhone and on my two Windows computers with iCloud.
Any thoughts about what could be going on?

If you have the space available on your hard drive and don't aready have a backup copy of the library make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
