Shoudl I use ESB services for every database interaction

I have an orchestrated business process that interacts with an internal database multiple times. Shoudl I use an ESB between the BPEL process and the database or is it better to use ESB's only for volatile or external services.
The database is unlikely to change and most of the calls are going to be static with little or no change therefore I cannot decide whether or not to use ESB's for these calls or not. does anyone have any opinions?

BPEL Orchestration provides the ability to update a number of employee details through a set process. The services called from the BPEL process are non-agnostic services that are specific to this process only. This means they are not going to be reused within the business and therefore I cannot decided whether I can justify the use of ESB services within this process.
I disagree with the comment that ESB services shoudl be used for all services, because if this was the case why have database adaptors available as BPEL partner links?

Hello, I am using the PeopleTools 8.52 Installation for Oracle documentation and was in Task 6A-2: Creating the Windows Service for the Database Instance.
After I type in
oradim -new -sid ORCL -intpwd manager -startmode auto -pfile C:\Oracle\database\initORCL.ora
I had encountered these errors:
OPW-00005: File with same name exists - please delete or rename
DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1073) The specified service already exists.

After I typed oradim -delete -sid ORCL, it shows this:
Unable to stop service, OS Error = 1062
Instance deleted.
Then, I:
Set ORACLE_SID=ORCL
oradim -new -sid ORCL -intpwd manager -startmode auto -pfile C:\Oracle\database\initORCL.ora
Then, it shows:
OPW-00005: Files with same name exists - please delete or rename
Instance created.
Does it mean no error already and I can proceed?

What is the name of the DB Link and the name of the object you are selecting
from?
I find it easier to create a view on the remote object then use that in selects.
e.g,
Link Name = MyLink
Object_name = Addr_Loc
create or replace VIEW Rem_Addr_Loc AS
select * from addr_loc@mylink;
In the code I then use the view

Using Enterprise service for POS integration to POSDM

I have few question on using Enterprise Service for POS Inbound .
1. Is it possibe to get this XML schema for Enterprise Service
2. Lets say we have to use a third party POS to integarte POSDM via PI. But then if we don't want to do any transformation in SAP PI, then can we use the following option:
SAP POS sends the data in the ES XML format
SAP PI just transports this to POSDM
I do see some drawbacks of POS sending the data in the ES service format. As this means, if any change needs to be done based on any new requirements, we need to change the source code. However the above option should still be technically possible?
Any reference if the above approach had been used in any projects. We have always used the following flow:
POS--> PI---> POSDM . PI to POSDM is through the RFC /POSDW/CREATE_TRANSACTIONS_EXT.

The ES bundle "PointOfSaleTransactionERPBulkCreateRequest_In" can be used to transfer POS transactions to POS Data Management directly.
In order to access the above-mentioned ES, please use the Integration Builder in your PI system in transaction SXMB_IFR and follow the link to the Integration Repository.
This structure can be enhanced to capture additional information.

Your site is a CCM site which is on a WebBasics plan (This plan does not provide hosted emails on Business Catalyst).
If you want to create email addresses on this site, you would need to setup your email server elsewhere and configure the MX records on your site to point to that external mail server.
If you want to use Business Catalyst's hosted email services you would need to use a WebBasics+ or higher siteplan. To upgrade your CCM free site, Access your site's admin area -> Site Management -> Upgrade Now -> choose the desired site plan and billing frequency -> Add personal and credit card details -> Submit.

just want to check whether this is the right way to configure my Listener.ORA . I am using 1 listener.ora to listen for incoming request connection from remote client. There are multiple databases installed in a server.

Trouble using asm instance for new database

I have an asm instance and am trying to create a new database that will use the asm storage. I'm using dbca to create the new database. This is a test system on windows so I'm using the asmtool -create flatfiles for disks with the asmallow_only_raw_disks parameter set to false.
If I have #SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS) commented out in my sqlnet.ora, then I can't get into asmcmd:
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin)
and dbca won't create the new database that uses asm because the dbca gets the same 01031 error when trying to create the control files for that database.
If I have SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS) NOT commented out, the I can get into asmcmd, but I can't startup the databases using sys, even though I am sitting at the server,
AND, dbca won't create the new database that uses asm becuase the dbca can't start the instance
credential retrieval failure.
I'm in a catch 22. Something is not right with my system but I just can't seem to figure out what it is.
The asm instance does have a password file.

I let the dbca create scripts and am currently walking through the scripts. I think it's my asm database that is actually creating the problem. I did the orapwd and oradim manually and can startup nomount the instance just fine. The create database statement fails on creating the controlfile but it's saying it already exists. I suspected the dbca form wasn't giving me all the errors like it should.

i am working on 8i.i want to create new database instead of existing for which first service have to create.i had created parameter file and perform changes,now with oradim i am trying to create service but it is giving incorrect version bcaz i have win2000 and oradim works with winnt only.

PS: Adding the 5 lines to tnsnames.ora does not create a network service, first you have to set the "service_names" init parameter and the listener will create the service when the database starts (simplified explanation).

I don't think you can safely pick one single operating system for Oracle.
Over the years I have seen various Unix flavors, VAX/VMS, Windows and others being used to a great extent for running Oracle database.
Picking one flavor will be tougher then having to program the database under any operating system it is made available.

Using Decision Service for existing rules based on Java Fact

According The BPEL Process Manager developers guid (10.1.3.1) page 18-28 if we want to call existing ruleset from BPEL that it's based on java facts . We should write RL function and convert xml data into java and assert the facts and after retrieving the result we should set the data from java types into xml types. From BPEL we should call this function
But I have question : We know that rules based on java facts has better performance than xml facts , Instead of Using Decicion Service , we have writen java function and run ruleset and then we have exposed this as a webservice and invoke it from BPEL.
What is the performance difference if we use this way instead of Decision Services?

I have Class A that contains member B as an array of objects (C) , My problem is that When I import generated xsd into rule Author it's generated JAXB class does not generate member B as an array of class(C)
Is there any way that I can modify class A into JAXB compatible class and generate xsd file from it's JAXB class .
I don't know JAXB specification and I do not know how JAXB works.I want easily generate JAXB class form my java class A and then retrieve corresponding xsd from it .
Can I do such thing?
