Should I buy a Nano or regular iPod?

I was just curious to know someone's opinion on whether I should buy an iPod or a Nano. I do like the sleek, smallness of the Nano and the fact that it's cheaper. However I do have a lot of music and would like to be able store other files and photos. Also it seems that the regular iPod has more features (correct me if I'm wrong).
I was also curious as to which is easier to find cases and an FM Modulator for? Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

No, not a 40Gig iPod, but a fourth generation 20 Gig iPod. It's more than I really need, but it works fine for me.
As far as skins and cases are concerned, go to:
http://www.ilounge.com/
and you'll be able to see a large number of protections available for whatever model you choose. There is a catalog listed somewhere that you can download. It really is a matter of personnal choice.
As far as FM transmitters are concerned, I had the Belkin first generation, and I didn't like it all: there is a remarkable loss of bandwith, i.e. you loose a lot of the highest and lowest frequencies, so that was too much of a loss of sound quality for me. So I gave it away when I had a special module installed in my Volvo.

  • Convert Nano to regular iPod size ?

    Hi all,
I've got a car kit for an iPod (3G). My nano fits into the dock and plays through the stereo quite fine, but it kinda wobbles about in there a bit.
Is there any kind of insert / converter I could buy that the Nano would fit into to give it the same form factor as the 3G and 4G iPod ?
    Thanks in advance,

I have never seen an adapter to do that.
One idea is to get some modeling clay or similar moldable product. Make balls of the clay to put between the nano and the dock. Something like this.
Or get a piece of styrofoam from a hobby store. Carve the foam to fit the extra space.
Check out a good hobby store, they will have many materials that might work.

  • Should I buy a nano?

Hey there, I am new to this forum and I'm sure this has been discussed...I have a mini and it's horrible. It shuts down after 40 mins, doesn't let me add new songs, bad battery, etc. I want to replace it and was wondering if the nano was worth it? I know it scratches easily, but does it have the same problems that the mini has?? Would anyone recommend it? Thanks so much for any info!!

You should, because the thing is so sleek and small!
also the screen is really bright and is good for use in the dark.
The battery charges really quick also (in 3 hours) compared to the four hours that the other ipods provides.
One of the best part about this nano is that it doesn't use a hard drive, and instead flash mem., which means no or barely any sound distortion. I bought a 2 gig ipod and I think it's worth it!

  • Which ipod touch should i buy

Should i buy a 8gb or 32gb ipod touch, i would mainly be using it for apps, music and tacking pictures.  what is the latest generation.

I recommend not buying anything atm.
The current ios (5.0.1) is extremely slow on iPod Touch 4g.
Symptoms like app crashes, 5 sec to unlock and many more arent rare.
    Just sayin.
Not on mine. What problems do you have?

  • Should i buy ipod touch 5g now or wait?

Should i buy ipod touch 5g now or wait? I read in here, many people said this model has many problems, frozen screens, titles songs are not line up in order, imessage can't send, etc.. what do you think?
I can afford for the 32g, the first one i had was nano and i dont' want to waste and upset if it's not good as it should be. Or i should wait until September when the new one come out?

There is no fifth-generation iPod touch at this time. The current units are still the forth-generation hardware.
As to seeing issues here, that's what these forums are for, people with problems. Those millions who are having no problems have little incentive to post here, so you get a skewed viewpoint as to how prevalent any problems really are. It's rather like judging the overall health of a community only by visiting the local hospital. The reality is that you're most likely going to have no problems at all, though no one can guarantee that, of course.
Anyway, it's up to you whether you wish to wait. None of us here know when Apple will release a new model of the iPod touch, nor even if they will, so your guess is as good as ours how long you might have to wait.
    Regards.

  • Should i buy a ipod 3g

    Hy guys
I always didnt like apple (i like't galaxy's etc more)
But i really wanna heve an ipod now since i ♥ apple products  now
But the thing is i dont wanna waste a lot of money
Thats why i wanna buy an ipod 3generation.
But i heard u cant download apps on it
and i dont get the ioshd if i'm gonna buy it i wanna keep it atleast 2 years good(still downlaoding apps etc)
    so should i buy it?

A real 3G iPod can only go to iOS 5.1.1. That currently works for most apps but some require iOS 6
Many time one thinks then have a 3G iPod when they really have a 2G iPod. A 2G can only go to 4.1.2. Many app now require 4.3 or greater.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.
    I myself would not get a  3G

  • Should I buy an ipod 5g?

Should I buy an ipod 5g if i already have an 8GB Iphone 4, ipad mini, and an ipad air? Or should I wait for the ipod 6g? However i am very interested in the ipod portability, since it is very light and thin but still durable. Or maybe i shouldnt bother having ti devices with me all the time.

IMO, I would skip the iPod and upgrade your iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5s. With carrier subsidized pricing, it is the same price as an iPod Touch 5g.

  • Should i buy he ipod universal dock

should i buy he ipod universal dock, can anyone help me to decide. thanks

Sorry Liam - yes, universal dock is fine, as you get the converter insert with the ipod.
Interestingly, the guy in the shop I went to first (and various people at the mac expo I just went to) said that the 5g dock wasn't available yet. This, naturally, is rubbish - the universal dock fits it just fine.
Sorry - was on my soapbox about the rubbish remote again...
    Mat.

  • Should I Buy an iPod Touch Now or an iPhone 3G After Waiting a Few Months?

I was thinking about whether I should buy an iPhone3G or an iPod Touch v2, but I couldn't come up with a decision. Here are my arguments:
    For iPod
    1. I can buy one now. Since I live in Canada, iPhone3G will arrive on July 11. However, so many people will want it that I most likely will not get one until a few months. Since my parents only let me go to electronic stores by myself over holidays, I will have to wait until Christmas before I can buy one.
    2. I use my phone about 10min a week. I don't text message either. (Most likely won't get a plan for iPhone until necessary or when the price drops)
    3. It can be argued that I will use my phone more in 2 years when I'm off to university, but by then the iPhone will be old.
    4. People say iPod Touch video graphics aren't that good, but watching videos on small screens tire out my eyes no matter how good the quality is.
    For iPhone
    1. More functions, such as GPS, phone when necessary, speaker, camera, etc
    2. If I wait, the iPhone will be the same price as the iPod Touch as of right now.
    3. I have a sim card phone and if Apple decides to go open network then I can replace my phone with this iPhone.
Please help me make a suggestion,
    Thanks in advance.

There will probably be loads available, I doubt you will have to wait at all (except in line).
(Most likely won't get a plan for iPhone until necessary or when the price drops)
If you get an iPhone, you WILL get a plan as it is required at time of purchase.
Minimum 2 year, $40 voice plan required. A data plan will cost an additional $30.
    2. If I wait, the iPhone will be the same price as the iPod Touch as of right now.
As of the 3G iPhone, the actual price of the phone is less than a touch (but requires a 2 year plan).
    3. I have a sim card phone and if Apple decides to go open network then I can replace my phone with this iPhone.
If they do offer the phone without a plan, it will undoubtedly cost $100-$200 more since ATT is subsidizing the price.

  • Should I buy the iPhone 5 or the iPod 5 and keep my phone?

Right now I have this phone
It's considered a smartphone, so I have the minimum data contract (300MB I think?) with Verizon. I had the iPod Touch 4, but sold it to raise money for my purchase. My main usage for my iPod was music, apps, email, safari, youtube and picture/video taking. My main worry is that I'll go over my data plan if I continue my previous usage. I'm always surrounded by wifi on my college campus though. So should I buy the new iphone and potentially have to get a bigger data plan, or the new ipod 5 and keep my old phone plan?
Thanks guys. First post, so I apologize if I did this wrong.

  • Should I buy the new iPod touch? My concern when buying really only Siri. The only drawback is the high price. What would you do?

    What do you mean by"

It is really up to you. Since y say yo have iOS 6 yo must have a 4G iPod which is not bad.

  • Should i buy the latest ipod touch 4G 2011 ,or wait for an update on it's hardware ?

Should i buy the latest ipod touch 4G 2011 ,or wait for an update on it's hardware ?
Do you think guys that it will take about a year for it's future update ? Please help me decide .

Only Apple knows what they will be doing and they have not told outsiders yet.  Maybe new harware in about a year but maybe earlier or later.  If you wnat the4G purchase it.

  • Should i buy the ipod 4g or the ipod 5 16gb

i really like everything from the ipod 5 16 gb with it does not have a camera and that's kinda sad
But if i buy the ipod 4g will it still update to the new ios version ?

I'll just keep writing in English as this is an American forum and I want others who have the same question to be able to understand what's written here.
Sorry, I didn't notice that the 16GB low-cost version of the iPod touch is actually quite different from the others.
For the regular iPod touch, there are a 32GB and a 64GB option, respectively at €319 and €419 if you buy it from the Apple site.
There is a 16GB version as well, but this one is quite different. As you mentioned, this one does not have the camera with flash on the back. It does have the 720p front-facing camera. It looks similar to the 32 and 64-GB versions, but has some little differences in the design, like black buttons instead of polished aluminium.
It really depends on your opinion, if you want a larger screen (better if you watch many films and videos) and the faster A5-chip (for graphic intensive games) and the iOS 7 update that come with the 5th generation iPods, or if you want a camera on the back and an option for 8GB of storage (and a mirror on the back).
I personally think you'd be better off if you buy a 4th generation iPod, because you get a camera (not very high quality but it's fun to take pictures when you have it with you. The video quality on it is quite good) and because other than the storage there is no difference between 64GB models and 8GB models, so you won't have a cheaper, lower quality product.
I myself have an iPod touch 4g 8GB and I'm very satisfied with it. I won't upgrade to another until this one breaks.
If you have any more questions, please ask them and I'll try to answer them as best as I can.

  • Should I buy the iPod touch 5g if I already have an iPod touch 2g and an ipad 2

Should I buy and iPod touch 5g when I already have an iPod touch 2g and an ipad 2

Well it is up to you. But there is some changes between the ipod 4 and ipod 5. I own both ipods and I would recommend getting the ipod5. These are some of the differences.
The ipod 5 has flash. It is very helpful especially if you like taking pictures at night.
The ipod 5 has siri. I personally like Siri, but if you don't you could always go to Siri settings and turn it off. Siri can be  convinient in some cases. If you want to know the time in China or if you want to know the temperature in Hawaii.
    Also it works much faster!
A ipod 5 comes in color
It is similar to a iphone and the best part f it is that it is cheaper than a iphone!

  • What is the difference between regular Aperture software and the app? If I were to buy an app or a software as a hobbyist, what should I buy??? Little confused between the two...Please advise.

    Dear All,
I am a newbie to MAC world. Being an ex-PC guy, I am used to CDs and traditional software. I want to buy Aperture as my main photo editing software. I have been using DXO and Photoshop in the past. I downloaded Apeture trial version and I am comfortable with it. If I were to buy it, should I buy an app or traditional software CD. I edit approx. 4-5 pictures a day, just for personal use though. Please advise.
    Regards,
    Gurpreet.

That's a function of your Credit Card not of the Software
But you're right, I was vague. Whether you buy from the App Store or the Disk makes no difference to the functionality of the software. It's the same.
    Regards
