Should I buy now or wait for Windows 7 that is installed at the factory
I'd like to buy the Acer 1410, should I wait until it's being shipped with Windows 7?
Yes, the free upgrade to Windows 7 is nice, but I'm concerned about all the drivers....WIFI, video, camera, etc. etc... I'm also concerned about the how the Vista turned battery management will interact with WIndows 7? Seems that would be the toughest thing to fix?
Is anyone running Window7 RC on a 1410? If so, how are things going ?
I called Acer support and of course they thought now was a great time to buy one. The rep. stated if I have issues after the upgrade, they would help get it working...LOL
If not, I could send it to Texas for repair!! Really....
I'm surprised more people haven't posted their experiences with the 1410 on the net.. It apppears to be a great, little computer.
I was also considering the Gateway LT3103U, but it is not eligible for the Windows 7 free upgrade and has less memory, etc.. Maybe someone change my mind on that one ? I wasn't very impressed with the Gateway support site, compared to Acer's. (Gee, aren't they the same company, go figure ! )
I wonder if Bestt Buy will offer the Acer 1410 ????? Looks like a hit to me!
When it comes to specific sales questions, I don't know about model releases.
When it comes to waiting to purchasing a computer now with Vista, I say Yes... only if it qualifies for the Windows 7 upgrade for free (minus S&H). I've heard good things about the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.
I use Windows 7 RC1 and I love it. I used it on my primary computer which is a Sony Laptop.

Should I buy now or wait for iMac upgrade?
After the recent iMac price reduction, should I buy now or wait until the end of the year for a potential upgrade? Does anybody think there will be much of an upgrade? Retina Display?
I am looking at getting an upgraded 27" with i7, 16GB and 3TB Fusion.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.General advice is if you don't need to buy then don't buy. There is always something newer coming out in the next 12 months. That said, also consider what you have now. Sometimes newer models cut off older software or hardware and buying a new model may mean you have to buy all new software or some mission critical piece of hardware. In a science lab where I worked they had old equipment for which there were no software upgrades for that model. Buying too new a computer would have meant spending half a million dollars on related hardware upgrades dictated by the backward compatible software limitations of that $1500 computer. They held off buying a new computer until they could afford new machinery.

iOS6 and iphoto, iPad, Apple TV sync problem still unresolved. Turning on and off a few times per community advice have not helped. What should I do now? wait for an upgrade fix?
"&" is not the obvious bug/answer. Not sure what went wrong as I cannot select albums and events for sync. Situation is worse for iPad and Apple TV when error 1140 message popped up even before backup get completed.Download and install the iPhoto 9.4.1 update, which was just released today. It may be the answer to your problems:

Be sure that neither iTunes nor iPhoto is running when you install the iPhoto 9.4.1 update. After installing the update, then restart iTunes and iPhoto. By default, "All photos" is selected. Change this (it's no longer grayed out) to "Selected albums..." and you should be OK. -
while trying to sync with my iphone I recieve the message: This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “Terri George’s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store? When I put in my password and hit authorize, I get a message telling me there was an unknown error (-50). Would love to sync today. Any help would be appreciated.

why am I still getting this message after logging in? "This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “*************s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?" - after I have logged in and get the message that the computer is already authorized!!!?? - and then the above message pops up again?

when syncing iPad to MacBook Pro itunes says "this computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the ipad" . When I enter my id and password it tells me the computer is authorized.

Mac Mini: buy now or wait for the Speed Bump?
Hi guys
I wanted to ask you something. First of all, would you buy a Mac Mini now o would you wait for a little hardware upgrade? It'd be my first Mini (I already have an iMac) and it would exclusively used as a Media Center, connected to a Sharp HD 37" (not Full HD though).
I was wondering if the graphic card of the Mini could support mkv files (the HD compressed with the mkv algorithm) because they have a high bitrate and the graphic card is quite weak (IMHO).
I just wanted to know what you think, I hope you can advise me.

I think that I'll wait for a little hw upgrade. I know that with Apple nothing is sure but I wanna buy a Mac Mini just to use it as a media center so I have to be sure that it'll work fine playing mkv files. Also I've promised my father that he'll be able to see as many HD films as he wants so I want to wait. Also because he's just bought me an iMac so you can understand I must be 100% sure.
If someone else can give me further information about mkv files please tell me.

I've been researching and trying to figure out whether to purchase an Iphone now or wait until they introduce the 3G connection and few other upgrades. I'm still little new to the iphones, but i've read a lot of information and possibly a 2nd generation iphone coming out in 2008.
Any advice? Go ahead and purchase now or wait?if it does what you want/need it to do now, buy it now. If there's a specific feature that you can't live without (such as media messages), and the iPhone doesn't have it, wait. The thing about technology is that it's constantly changing. If you wait until it's "perfect" you'll never buy, because something new will always be coming along in the future. The next one might be out in a couple of months, or it might not be out until next year... during that time, you could be enjoying the current version rather than waiting for the "new one"

When I try to authorize the computer it says that it already is. I say OK, and it goes around and asks the same question. Not sure what to do. Can you help?

This error happens when I plug in my iPad and my iPod. The computer is authorised and I never have used a different apple ID. Tried renetering apple ID says computer is authorised. It all worked before and now won't sync. I tried to add an audiobook and it won't let me do that either. Everything plays on the computer. Did repair permissions. A new problem - any help would be appreciated

Why am I getting this message I only have 1 computer the ipad connects to, it hasnt changed so why do I suddenly have to autorize it again????I've gotten the same issue now on my ipad.
My mac mini is authorized. I only have ONE itunes account. I sync my original ipad today and I get this message. So i say sure authorize, even tho it is. Enter login and password, comes back with this computer is already authorized. I knew that but ok. hit ok. Up pops message that this computer is no longer authorized, blah blah blah. Ok ill try again. Authorize credentials entered. Get message that computer is already authorized. Itunes is most recent 10.2.1. Ipad is updated to 4.3.1.
I deauthorized computer and reauthorized it. Still get loop.
google for solutions, find lots of problems, no answers outside of reinstall itunes and it "might" work, but not for everyone. Not gonna do that yet.
Figure Ill call, I mean its not that an old a device and its surely a bug in the software, I havent changed a single thing since I last synced and only tried got the sync message when i plugged it in to update the OS.
/rant on Go through a gazillion voice prompts and question, finally get operator and he'll help me if i spend 80 or 30 bucks depending on the service program I want. Yah know thats just total #$%@.
How about some customer service eh? How about posting a solution to the forums. If you dont have one, at least tell people that.
I get the same bit of attitude when I walk in the apple store. Love the products, have been an apple user since the IIe, but I just want the products I bought from you, the software that I get from you, the music that I buy from you, the apps that I buy from you, etc etc to WORK with each other.

Should I buy the new MacBook Pro 17 right now or wait for longer?
I've seen a lot of people complaining issues of the new MBP 17. I just don't know it's the right time to buy one or wait for onther months. I am scared that if I ordered one online, and can't return it.....
In my opinion not doing custom if you can afford it is a mistake. The only drawback is yes you cannot return it, but if your that unsure about it, do what i did. i went to an apple store and played with it. The only unsure thing i had was if i would like the operating system over windows.
Also posted questions here. The downside of not least getting a higher processor is that it requires replacing sooner. Rather spend a few extra now and be able to use it an extra year or so. i speak from expierence of not upgrading and seeing my 3000 dollar sony blue ray i bought 3 years ago become an expensive blue ray player because i didnt upgrade my processor from a 2.0 to 2.5 back then. If i did it still be a decent computer but alot of games now require over the 2.0 to even run at low specs.
But i buy for the computer to least last me 3 years, maybe you replace sooner. Again this is only my opinion. and for what its worth ANY computer you buy if you go to the forums of that computer you will see complaints and problems about it. Just Apple is a big name and this is a new release so the news people still have this computer in thier radar. -
I have a Mac Book Pro and downloaded the latest software OS X. Now whenever I start my computer, I have to wait for Windows Mac to do its thing. I checked and the "open at login" option is not checked. How can I turn this feature off? It's driving me nuts!!
All fixed Barry. When I went to restart my computer, the question was right there. Do you want to open Windows when opening. NOPE!!
I tried it a few times and thank goodness it worked. Thank you for your help today.

thanksOne of my favorite things about developing for iOS using Xcode is the Simulator. It runs any of the iOS devices simulated right on your Mac. If you don't have a hardware device to test your application on, the Xcode simulator will surely be your best friend.
So to answer your question less vaguely, yes. You can own the iPhone 5s and develop for the 6. There is no real release information of the iPhone 6 at the time anyways, so I would not let it play too large of a factor in your decision.
