Show Active Directory Property Page

Hello everybody,
I hope this topic is published in the correct forum. I try to find the API which shows the native property page of Active Directory objects. If possible with an example (VB.Net)? There exists an similar function named "openquerywindow" which
used by dsquery.dll. Is there a library function that would do this (e.g.
activeds.dll or dsprop.dll)?

I do not quite understand what the native property page of Active Directory objects is, if it means the native Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) object, you then could get it by using
DirectoryEntry class:
DirectoryEntry.NativeObject Property
If not, since it is not very clear what you are trying to query from the active directory, there is a list which you could query from .NET, you could check if there are features that you want:

Adding Custom Attributes in Activie Directory

hi
i've a requirement of getting few user properties from Active Directory into the user profile,for example i need the following properties.
user image
user birthday
user employee number
these properties are not available in the active directory,so how can i add these into the active directory and secondly how can i insert image of the user into the active directory property for image

There are two ways here.
First:
You can ask your AD administrator to create an attribute for you so that you can use it.
Second:
You can use the thumbnailPhoto attribute for Images
You can use Employee ID for employee number
You can use roomnumber for Birthday. Birthday attribute is not present in AD. So, we would have to use some other attribute which matches. So, i would personally request you to create a new attribute inside AD for the same. For this please follow

Control's property pages at runtime???

I am currently implementing an ActiveX control with Measurement Studio for Visual Basic.
Everything is going fine, but I have one general problem which I cannot solve. The control should show the own property pages at runtime mode. Whit one OLE control, developed under visual c++ or ATL this is strength forward. But I have no idea how to do this from Visual Basic. I spend a lot of time to search in internet but unfortunately there is no information at all.

You can do this with the ISpecifyPropertyPages COM interface and the OleCreatePropertyFrame function. The hard part is getting definitions of the interface, interface methods, supporting data types, etc. that you can use from VB. Here's one way to do it:
Download tl_ole.zip, which is a type library that contains definitions for several OLE interfaces, structures, and functions.
Create a new VB project and add a reference to the type library.
Add a Measurem
ent Studio ActiveX control (i.e., CWGraph) to the form and add a button to the form.
Add the following code to your VB project:

Note that you pass in the Object property of the control, not the control reference itself. When you run this code, this will bring up the property pages of the controls at run-time. If you make any changes in the property pages and click OK, the changes will be reflected in the control.

Sharepoint 2013 - Active Directory Import User Profile Property manager fields

Hi there,
I juste encountered actually a little issue regarding the Active Directory Import User Profil.
Importation seems to work well but I have a little problem regarding the Manager field.
When I verify a user profil through the sharepoint admin page ("Manage user profil") , I can see the manager field is correctly populated, but if I want to check my profil as a user (personal information), the manager field is not visible.
With Sharepoint Admin and Manage Profil Properties, I haven't the possibility to modify some settings for the manager.
For example, Policy parameters is greyed.
The only way I found to show this field in a user profil is to give the permission "allow users to Edit values ...".... setting I don't want to set.
Have you already this sort of issue ?

I don't remember well what I did exactly regarding this issue because I played a lot with user profil.
I know I used this powershell script from Sheyia which in fact help me a lot to clean and create a good profil setting.

I can login with the these AD users and AD direct import is working just fine. We are not using UPS.
With admin user when I click on the user it shows up proper data. But when I login with the same user it does not show me userdisplay/useredit and shows blank data. Also another strange thing is when I add new item in list with these AD users created by
modified by is blank and its really strange. I checked user information list, tried to rerun user sync with direct AD import option but no success.

According to your description, my understanding is that the page is blank when the use accessed /_layouts/15/userdisp.aspx and the created by field was blank when the user created a new list item in SharePoint 2013.
I tested the same scenario per your post, however I cannot reproduce your issue.
For troubleshooting this issue, I recommend to verify the things below:
Check the permission of the user in the corresponding site collection to see if he can access /_layouts/15/userdisp.aspx.
Delete the user from AD and SharePoint, then re-add the user to AD and grant proper permission to the user in SharePoint to see if the issue still occurs.
Did this issue occur with all the users? Add a new user in AD and test the same scenario.

Document ID - Property field shows on item view property page after deactivating the Document ID Service features at Site Collection level

Hi,
When a site collection was created, I enabled the Document ID feature at site collection level. Then some item was created in a document library as well as list libarary
Now it was decided that we dont want the Document ID feature so I disable the feature from Collection feature list
Still when a user view the property of a document it shows the Document ID property with the ID (when click on the ID it shows the message that

I would just remove the column from the view. You can make views for each list, it you look under the list by Clicking List while the list is open, you should see a link in the ribbon which say "Modify view" click this link.
This link will open the edit view page you can then uncheck the box for the column which will remove it form that view.

The Document id service will add new columns to the document content type and the document set content type.
It also adds an event receiver which should be deactivated when you deactivate the doc id service.
Theoretically. You should be able to go in and remove the columns from the document type, and then force an update.

Getting AADSTS50020 error on microsoft login page when using Azure Active Directory Authentication

We have implemented Azure Ad single sign on using auto generated code from Visual studio 2013 with organization account authentication and its working fine.
The problem is when user is logged in in azure management portal with his live account and in other tab he try to open our app, then he directly gets below error on Microsoft login page.

It works fine if I log out from management portal. Is there any way to resolve this issue without forcing user to log out from live account(management portal)?

I assume you created a web application using VS2013 which uses the WS-Federation protocol.
The behavior that you are seeing is expected Single-sign-on because you are logged in using the live account in the management portal.
For WS-Federation, there is no current way for a caller to specify they want to force a fresh login, so the behavior is always the equivalent of LoginBehavior.Normal.
The user will need to either sign-out or use an in-private session in the browse.
If you switch to openID connect(sample at
https://github.com/AzureADSamples/WebApp-OpenIDConnect-DotNet) and use the “prompt=login” query paramerter in the sign in request, this will force a fresh login.

How to show active page in Spry Menu Bar using images

Hi,
I have already read this answer "how to show active page in spry menu bar" but I am using images, not text. I have mouse-over and mouse-out working in the Spry Menu Bar using image.png and image-over.png, but I cant' figure out how to get the image-over.png to appear on the active page since the spry menu bar is locked on the individual pages. (I tried to put it in an editable comment, but spry wouldn't go for it. :-)
Any ideas. Here is the code:

Hi all!
I´m trying to transform the accountExpires and pwdLastSet property retrieved from Active Directory to a Date/Time object. The value returned is a weird long integer that can´t be converted. Does anyone know something about this?
I´m using Java 2 SDK 1.4.2.

Active Directory not showing up in Shared Service Console

Hi,
I successfully installed EPM Version 11.1.1.1.0 in my PC, can able to access shared services through URL. But I have not seen Active Directory configured, i believe this will taken care automatically during software installation.
I was seeing AD last week, this monday I uninstalled and installed, this time missing AD showing up. I make use of NTLM directory.
Could you please suggest me how to add this AD in shared service console...Its kind of urgent ..please help.

You can get user details by name using DirectoryService namespace. Then you can create a DataTable to restore the information and then bind to the SharePoint GridView.

Active Directory, created users not showing up in list of all users

I created a user name "test". However, when I look at a list of all users I only have the 4 users that were created on installation. When I search for "test"
it shows up. Why isn't my user showing up in the list of users?

might be the obvious, but is the Time inside your VPC Windows also off by these six hours ?
Maybe a simple setting of the 'Windows Time' to the correct time is needed.
Nonetheless I don't think that the different/future time will be affecting your databases in any way.
