Hey guys, i follow the link above created a shuttle table. My problem is that sometime it works, sometime it does. I keep getting the following messages below. The selected values are not showing up. Some help please.

Above is my entire code for the shuttle table. When i check the table that correspond to the iterator that values are stored in the database. I also have a table view showing all the items i save. It is also in that table view. Why it is acting crazy, i do not know.

    how to find the selected item in alv grid or table control

    In table control, If you goto screen painter and goto table control properties ( f2 ), there is one check-box w/selColumn check that and give column name. Then add that column to your internal table.
    IN PAI
      LOOP AT it_tkhdr.
        FIELD it_tkhdr-sel_row
          MODULE tab_tkhdr_mark ON REQUEST.
      ENDLOOP.
    MODULE tab_tkhdr_mark INPUT.
      MODIFY it_tkhdr INDEX tc_tkhdr-current_line.
    ENDMODULE.                 " tab_tkhdr_mark  INPUT
    here it_TKHDR is internal table sel_row is field for selection
    After that, you can loop at it_tkhdr where sel_row is 'X' to get selected rows.

  • Query a table using Multi Select Item

    Hi everyone!
    I got a page where I have this multiselect item, and I want to query a table using its values.
    For example: The Multiselect item has this values: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10
    And I want to query every person who has ID_CLASS 1,4,7 and 9 by selecting those IDs from the list, and when I click que Consult button the Report displays those persons.
    Whowever I can't accomplish this, I was trying to find a post about this without success.
    Can anybody help me with this?
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
    This is my problem, I select 2 or more options in the multiple select item, then after I click the "Consult" buttom it submits the page, however only 1 option is highlighted. For example I choose the first two options, then I click Consult and the page is submitted. After that only one of the 2 options are selected, but I need to get the 2 options highlighted as selected items.
    If I clear cache I think I'll lost everything. (selected items)
    Thanks again!

  • Shuttle: How to reference selected items on the right side

    This seems so easy so why am I struggling so much.
    I have a simple shuttle:
    1 Adam
    2 Baker
    3 Charlie
    4 Delta
    5 Echo
    6 Foxtrot
    Select Name D, UserID R from UserTable
    The values are stored in a VARCHAR2 field MULTI_USER (for example 1:2:4:6)
    When I want to get the names back from the selected item, how do I reference the colon-separated items?
    For example:
    Select Name from UserTable
    where UserID in (select MULTI_USER from MULTI_USER where MULTI_USER_ID = 1)
    should return:
    Adam
    Baker
    Delta
    Foxtrot
    Why is this so difficult for me to figure out?

  • Problem with parameters and non table based items

    Hi,
    I have a situation where I have some not table based items on a page (shuttles and select lists). It is parameters that the end user inputs. I have another page with the same items just here they are Display Only and also not table based. When the user press a button I branch from page 1 to page 2 and set the items on page 2. My problem is that the input the user keys in are not copied to the items on page 2. I can see the data in the session state.
    I assume that this is a silly question and I have just set Source Used or Source Type wrong one one of the items but I can not get it working. Can anybody help?
    It works fine if I use a Application Item and creates a process on page 1 where I copy the item value from the session state but that should be needed right?
    Regards Pete

    Thanks Scott,
    I think I got it working. If I remove all the colons from the data it works. I select several entries in a Shuttle and the result is a colon delimited string of values. If I remove these in a process it works fine. Is there a way of escaping the output from a Shuttle?

  • How to create a report  based on selected item from Select list?

    Hi,
    I have created a tables_LOV based on:
    select table_name d, table_name r from user_tab_cols
    where column_name like '%_type%'
    Then I created a page item ListOfTables,  Display as select list and pointing to tables_LOV.
    I run the page, and i can select the table i want from the drop down list.
    How to create a report  based on the selected item? (ex: select * from selected_table)
    many thanks in advance
    Salah

    Hi Salah,
    Allright, have a look at this page: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=vincentdeelen:collection_report
    I think that simulates what you're trying to accomplish. I've set up the simplest method I could think of.
    The report is based on an apex collection. If you are not familiar with that, you should study the documentation: APEX_COLLECTION
    To recreate my example you should:
    1) create an (interactive) report on your collection
    SELECT *
       FROM APEX_collections
    WHERE collection_name = 'MY_COLLECTION'
    2) create a page_item select list for the tables you want to display (in my case this is called "P38_TABLES" )
    3) create a dynamic action that triggers on change of your select list page_item. The dynamic action must be a PL/SQL procedure perfoming the following code:
    declare
      l_query varchar2(4000);
    begin
      l_query := 'select * from '||:P38_TABLES;
      if apex_collection.collection_exists
            ( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION' )
      then
        apex_collection.delete_collection
          ( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION' );
      end if;
      apex_collection.create_collection_from_query
        ( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION'
        , p_query           => l_query
    end;
    Make sure you add your page_item to the "Page Items to Submit" section.
    4) Add an extra true action that does a refresh of the report region.
    Here are two pictures describing the da:
    http://www.vincentdeelen.com/images/otn/OTN_COLLECTION_REPORT_DA1.png
    http://www.vincentdeelen.com/images/otn/OTN_COLLECTION_REPORT_DA2.png
    Good luck and regards,
    Vincent

  • How i can set the selected item of a dropDown component from java code

    Hi
    Thank you for reading my post
    How i can set the slected item of a DropDown component from backing beans java code ?
    it is binded with a database , so one field determine its display and one other field determine its value , I want to set the selected item of this combobox
    In back code i have both value and display values to use them .
    can some one give me some help ?
    Thanks ,

    See code sample 3 at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/helloweb.html
    See also, the selection components row in the table under http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/helloweb.html
    It says
    One way to preselect items is to call setSelectedValue(Object[]) or setSelectedValue(Object) from the prerender() method. You pass in the return values of the items that you want preselected. Be sure to verify that getSelected() returns null before setting the default options, or you will overwrite the user's selections on a post-back.

  • Bug (possibly?): SelectManyShuttle fails to display selected items

    Bug (possibly?): SelectManyShuttle fails to display selected items when valuePassThru="true" in ADF 10g
    Hello all,
    When run, the example below shows a Select Many Shuttle with four choices in the leading list. When items are shuttled to the training list and the page is submitted the trailing list is rendered with no items selected. Is this a bug?
    Configuration
    This example was constructed using jDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0.
    A new application was created using the Web Application [JSF, ADF BC] template although no business components are used.
    Steps to Reproduce
    1. Create the following backing bean class.
    package com.fmcna.adf.test.view;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    import javax.faces.model.SelectItem;
    public class ShuttleBean {
        public ShuttleBean() {
        private List availableItems;
        private List selectedItems;
        public void setAvailableItems(List availableItems) {
            this.availableItems = availableItems;
        public List getAvailableItems() {
            //populate with a List of SelectItem instances on the inital call to this method
            if(this.availableItems==null) {
                this.availableItems=generateSelectItemsList();
            return availableItems;
        public void setSelectedItems(List selectedItems) {
            this.selectedItems = selectedItems;
        public List getSelectedItems() {
            return selectedItems;
         * Build a List of SelectItem instances to be used by an af:selectManyShuttle
         * @return A List containing SelectItems instances
        private List generateSelectItemsList() {
            List initialItems = new ArrayList();
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(11),"First Choice"));
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(22),"Second Choice"));
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(33),"Third Choice"));
            initialItems.add(new SelectItem(new Integer(44),"Fourth Choice"));
            return initialItems;
    }2. Configure the ShuttleBean class as a session scoped managed bean as in the following faces-config.xml file.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
    <!DOCTYPE faces-config PUBLIC
      "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD JavaServer Faces Config 1.1//EN"
      "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-facesconfig_1_1.dtd">
    <faces-config xmlns="http://java.sun.com/JSF/Configuration">
      <managed-bean>
        <managed-bean-name>ShuttleBean</managed-bean-name>
        <managed-bean-class>com.fmcna.adf.test.view.ShuttleBean</managed-bean-class>
        <managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
      </managed-bean>
      <application>
        <default-render-kit-id>oracle.adf.core</default-render-kit-id>
      </application>
    </faces-config>3. Create a JSP page containing an af:selectManyShuttle with a nested f:selectItems component. Wire the values for these components to the properties in the managed bean.
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
    "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">

    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces" prefix="af"%>
    <f:view>
      <html>
        <head>
          <meta http-equiv="Content-Type"
                content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"/>
          <title>testShuttle</title>
        </head>
        <body><h:form>
            <af:selectManyShuttle value="#{ShuttleBean.selectedItems}" valuePassThru="true">
                <f:selectItems value="#{ShuttleBean.availableItems}"/>
            </af:selectManyShuttle>
            <af:commandLink text="Postback"/>
        </h:form></body>
      </html>
    </f:view>4. Run the JSP. Validate that the trailing list is initially empty.
    5. Shuttle one or more items to the trailing list and click the Postback button. Validate that when the page refreshes the trailing list is again empty.
    Thanks for any input you might be able to provide.

    I'm holding my Nano in my hot little hands with ALL of the things you listed, but here's the sad, simple truth: you CAN'T use iTunes to sync everything. It works well for:
    1) Music
    2) Videos (except sometimes in Vista)
    3) Photos (as long as they're not too large)
    but is terrible for:
    1) calendar
    2) contacts
    3) To-Do lists
    For the latter use something like "iGadget" (www.ipodsoft.com). I also edit/store notes w/iGadget plus it allows you to export files, etc.
    I gave up on syncing iTunes w/Outlook long ago. Good luck.

  • How can I return to the last selected item in a dialog box

    In OS 9 using Dreamweaver (for example) when I was adding images to a document, each time I added one the dialog box would return to the last selected image and I could just arrow down to the next in the list, add it (exiting the dialog box) and then repeat the process until I had added all the images in the folder. Now, using OS 10.4, after I add an image, and return to the add image dialog box it goes to the first item in the folder list instead of the last selected item. this really slows the process down, and when I'm adding 100 items or so, it's a real drag. I figure there has to be a way to get the dialog box to return to the last selected item, but I don't know what it is. Help!

    sorry, that is not what I want to do.
    I want to return to the initial state before I quit the app.
    Actually, I want to return to the intial state after I click a row in a table the second time.
    Sorry, I didn't say clearly.

  • How to get the label on selectOneMenu selected item??

    Hi,
    I'm not able to get the label of the selected item in a selectOneMenu. The code I use to fill it is:
    <h:form id="formNacion" name="formNacion">
    <h:selectOneMenu value="#{modelRtbBean.nacion}" id="selectNacion" onchange="this.form.submit();">
    <f:selectItems value="#{dataRecoveryBean.naciones}" id="idItemsNacion"/>
    </h:selectOneMenu>
    </h:form>
    The dataRecoveryBean has this method to fill the content of the component (basically it creates an arrayList of selectItems by recovering data from a database):
    public ArrayList<SelectItem> getNaciones() {
    if ((naciones == null ) || (naciones.isEmpty()) ){
    naciones = new ArrayList<SelectItem>();
    HDBGeografico hdbGeo = new HDBGeografico();
    SqlMadd sqlmadd = new SqlMadd();
    try {
    AccessBD sscm = new AccessBD( );
    sscm.table(hdbGeo.getSqlNaci());
    // The AccessBD object has a reference to the resultset:
    ResultSet rs = sscm.getRS();
    while (rs.next()) {
    naciones.add(new SelectItem((String) rs.getString(1), (String) rs.getString(2)));
    sscm.Close();
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e.toString());
    return naciones;
    the modelRtbBean setNacion recovers the value, but I need its label too, because it's a kind of description that I use later.
    In the modelRtbBean setNacion method I'm able to access the UISelectItems object, but I cannot get the selected item itself
    public void setNacion(String nacion) {
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (fc != null) {
    UIViewRoot viewRoot= fc.getViewRoot();
    System.out.println(viewRoot.getViewId());
    HtmlSelectOneMenu selNac = (HtmlSelectOneMenu)viewRoot.findComponent("bodySTB:formNacion:selectNacion");
    if (selNac != null) {
    System.out.println("Nacion value-htmlSelectOneMenu :" + selNac.getValue() );
    System.out.println(selNac.getAccesskey() + selNac.getTitle() + selNac.toString());
    UISelectItems uis = (UISelectItems)selNac.findComponent("idItemsNacion");
    if (uis != null) {
    System.out.println("I have the element...");
    this.nacion = nacion;
    How could it be accessed this selected item label ??

    I finally did it as you suggest, but I found another way to access the label (I don't know if it could be useful for anybody but here it is) :
    In the setter method linked to the SelectOneMenu, you can put in this code:
    FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    if (fc != null) {
    UIViewRoot viewRoot= fc.getViewRoot();
    System.out.println(viewRoot.getViewId());
    HtmlSelectOneMenu sel = (HtmlSelectOneMenu)viewRoot.findComponent("viewName:formName:selectOneName");
    if (sel != null) {
    UISelectItems uis = (UISelectItems)sel.findComponent("idItemsName");
    if (uis != null) {
    ArrayList<SelectItem> listElem = (ArrayList<SelectItem>) uis.getValue();
    You could put in in the value item of each SelectItem it's index position in the list, so in the setter method
    of the bean linked to the selectOneMenu you would get the index of the selected item as the parameter of the method
    int index = 1; // For easyness in this example
    System.out.println("Label: " + listElem.get(index).getLabel() + " Value: "+ listElem.get(index).getValue());
    Thanks !!!

  • Query on Multi-select Item and STRING_TO_TABLE

    Hi everyone - here's the scoop:
    I've got a multi-select item on a US state field that returns one or more state ID selected (eg. '15:26:49'). I want to use that to find rows in a table where the state ID is one of those values. State ID is indexed and I want to ensure that the index can be used, so I don't want to be doing "where instr(...)".
    I read a post on Ask Tom - http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:110612348061 - where he parses a string of values into a table that can be used in an IN clause, thus allowing use of the index.
    Here's my question - I'd like to take advantage of APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE to do my parsing, but it returns APEX_APPLICATION_GLOBAL.VC_ARR2. I tried a bunch of different casts but couldn't make it work with a query done as per Tom Kyte's post. Ultimately I wrapped STRING_TO_TABLE and just "copy" the VC_ARR2 to a table of numbers, like this:
    create or replace function string_to_numtbl(p_string in varchar2, p_separator in varchar2 default ':')
    return num_table as
    l_data num_table := num_table();
    l_vc_arr2 APEX_APPLICATION_GLOBAL.VC_ARR2;
    begin
    l_vc_arr2 := APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(p_string, p_separator);
    FOR z IN 1..l_vc_arr2.count LOOP
    l_data.extend;
    l_data(l_data.count) := l_vc_arr2(z);
    END LOOP;
    return l_data;
    end;
    So I can use the multi-select to feed an IN clause. I'm still getting familiar with casts, but it seems to me thought that there ought to be a straighter path to allow the return of APEX_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE to be used in an IN.
    Any thoughts?

    VC_ARR2 is an index by table and in the Tom's example he is using a nested table which
    has a different structure and allows different operations. To make this short, you will not be
    able to use VC_ARR2 in a SQL statement. Yes, it would be good since ApEx has its own
    function to convert a string to a table and back. I have no problems using Tom's examle.
    Here, you will find some description on differences:

  • Assign a SELECT item's list of values - APEX 2.2.0

    Hey, all,
    Is there a way to assign the list of values of a SELECT item programatically, besides the usual query-in-the-LOV? I am reusing a page 0 region and have a SELECT item that can take on a wide range of lists of values. Something like:
    AddOptionToSelectItem('P0_MY_SELECT', 'Yes', 1);
    AddOptionToSelectItem('P0_MY_SELECT', 'No', 0);
    or:
    SetLOV('P0_MY_SELECT', somethingRepresentignAListOfValues);
    If that cannot be done, I'll just put all of the parameters I need to figure out what goes into the select list into page 0 items and either write query the old fashioned way or write a PL/SQL function that takes the parameters in and returns a table.
    Thanks!

    In case this helps, you can specify an item's LOV attribute as a function that returns the LOV query, e.g.,
    return my_lov;

  • Automatic Selected Item of List Builder Component Does not work (anymore)

    Hi all,
    Í'm working with Xcelsius Engage 2008 (version 5.3.2.0) and the automatic selection of an item at runtime of the list builder component does not work anymore. In a previous version it worked very well.
    Here's the case: at runtime I want that the list builder component automatically puts the first item in the list to the destination section and selects it, so that a graph can show the underlying pushed data. In the previous version it worked o.k., but now at runtime the destination section remains empty at startup. If I interactively select an item from the source section to the destination section and update the list builder, the data is shown correctly, but it must done automatically, which worked o.k. in an earlier version of Xcelsius 2008...
    This are my settings of the list builder component (which was running correctly earlier..):
    -at the general tab I defined a range of labels
    -at the general tab I defined 2 data column insertion series
    -at the behaviour-common tab I defined selected items: position mode; items: the first item of the label list; insert items at runtime
    -all of the data comes from an external xml data source
    You can find an example of the visualisation at: http://onderzoek2.evinet.nl/projecten/10169/dynarap.htm. You will see that at start-up there is no item visible and selected in the destination section of the list builder....
    I've tried every combinations of settings, build up the component from scratch, but its not working (anymore).
    Greetings Erik-Jan Vriens

    Hi njnits,
    Print view button is a standard component of Xcelsius: look at it in the IDE
    Exporting to Powerpoint is also a standard functionality, so yes. For this particular dashboard/report all data resides in an external xml-file which have to be accessible for Powerpoint
    All visualisations, not only the table,  in this/report fetch their data from an external xml-file, but a QaaWS-connection will also do the trick. You will have to write this dedicated service. In our case the xml-data is also generated automatically.
    The external data is best defined as a sort of matrix, consisting of approx. 100 columns by 1000 rows. I agree it takes a lot of Xcelsius but it does the job....
    Hopes this info helps....
