SID remains in SLD as WAS Java entry even when Java Stack is deleted

Hi there,
Can somebody help me with next strange behaviour in the SLD.
Some SID's in our Landscape Components (tc SMSY) on Solution Manager has as Data Source 'SLD'.
These SID's comes from the SLD and are feeded by RZ70 for the ABAP part and by the SLD Data Supplier for the JAVA stack.
The SLD Data Supplier service is set up by the Virtual Administrator.
Now, we have systems in the SMSY with an sidname like <SID>_NABP.
These kind of entries has then SLD as datasource.
The problem is that I don't want these entries in the SMSY beacuse ther is no JAVA stack anymore.
The Java stack is removed completely.
I removed the WAS Java entry in SLD.
But, this enty in SLD is reset after a while.
So, when I remove the entry in SMSY on SolMan and in the SLD WAS JAVA, still the component is recreated in SMSY with datasourrce coming from SLD.
The data in SMSY is empty (no instance, no database). Only the SID and hostename is available.
What i believe  is that something  triggers the SLD Data Supplier  but I can not reach it because JAVA and so Visual Administrator included is removed from the system.
Maybe, if somebody can tell me how SLD is feeded for the JAVA stack, I could find the solution.
I really hope that somebody can help me out.
Thanks

Those <SID>_NABP ("non-ABAP", i.e., Java) can certainly be hard to get rid of. It's like a zombie: you think it's gone, but it keeps coming back! What's happening is that it can't recognize that the system is loading from SLD matches one that already appears in SMSY.
Note 1301106 can help sometimes: tcode SOLMAN_WORKCENTER > Root Cause Analysis > System Conflict Resolution.
Failing that, the only thing that I have found to work is to carefully compare the SID and _NABP entries, and then copy the key value that makes _NABP look like it's a different system into the SID entry: most often that is the message server name. Then, next time it reloads, it sees that it has a system with that message server (for example), and won't create a new one. You may need to right-click on the SID entry and set its data source to manual to be able to edit the message server field.
Another possible key field is the database (under the Header Data tab): assign it the value of <SID>.
A more complicated problem is where the erroneous entries are instead for ABAP stacks, and look like <SID>000001. Those have System and Type defined (under the Selection of Main Instances tab) but for a product I never installed (e.g., Mobile Infrastructure). By assigning System and Type on my existing instances, those _00001 systems were no longer created.

  • Calender automatically deletes entries even when set to "keep forever"

    Help!! I'm a new blackberry curve owner, and I am very dependant on my calender. It's just started deleting past entries (anything over 24 hours) even though my settings are to "keep forever". I have contacted my service provider and they said it's because I've run out of memory and calender entries and text messages are low priority. Is there anyway to ensure they don't get deleted? Is there anything I can do (other then set the texts to keep for only 15 days - already done) to ensure I always have enough memory? Is there anyway to recover my deleted entries? I don't have it synched to my computer or outlook. Much thanks!

  • How to decomplie a java class file when java application is running/launch?

    I have a simple java application with some components being displayed, now i need to get the components instance names that are been created in that java application. How do i do that?
    Eg: Button b1 = new button();
    now how to write a java application to decompile this class file & return me the button instance ie "b1".

    I think you wanna do two different things:
    1. find out which objects were created at runtime.
    2. decompile class file.
    I'm no so sure why.
    have you tried insrospecting the class using reflection ?
    Here is a code snippet that prints class field names.
    try{
      Class c = Class.forName("MyClass");
      java.lang.reflect.Field[]  f=    c.getFields();
      for (int i = 0;i<f.length; i++)
           System.out.println(f.getName());
    catch(Exception e){ }

    That looks like it might be a binary-distribution JAR that you should unjar. The actual JAR for the classpath is probably inside it.

  • ABAP+Java Kernel and only Java Kernel

    Hi Friends,
    Is there any difference in ABAP+Java Kernel and only Java Kernel?
    Can we use the kernel for above both from the same location as below?
    1#
    Support Packages and Patches> Additional Components> SAP Kernel> SAP KERNEL 64-BIT UNICODE> SAP KERNEL 6.40 64-BIT UNICODE
    Following Files
    DB Dependent  - ORACLE
              SAPEXEDB_175-20000227.SAR
              DBATL640O92_44-20000227.SAR
    Database Independent
              SAPEXE_175-20000226.SAR
    Assuming above SAR files contain R3trans, R3load, tp ,... also.
    2#
    As per my knowledge SAP has given one more path to download J2EE SP's which contains Kernel and J2EE Support Packages.
    http://service.sap.com/patches --> Support Package and Patches -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NetWeaver 04 -> Entry by Component -> Application Server Java -> SAP J2EE Engine 6.40 -> J2EERT19_0-10001982.SAR/J2EERT20_0-10001982.SAR (OS Independent) and CTRLDB219_0-20000114.SAR(OS Dendependent)
    What is the difference between above two kernels?
    1# contains R3trans, R3load, tp ...etc which is exclusively used by ABAP Stack related functions. The startsap script used here would check R3trans -d authentication successful before starting database and then only it starts the database from sidadm. I observed OPS$ users available in only ABAP schema SAPSID but not available in SAPSIDDB. If I use the kernel downloaded from 1# for Java Stack only system, startsap would fail as R3trans authentication fail as there is no ABAP schema in Java systems.
    This applies well for ABAP+JAVA or only ABAP based systems.
    If I use only JAVA Stack based system can I use the kernel downloaded from 1# . What is the kernel and SP available in 2#? Is this also contains the same kernel given in 1# or it is different. I also observed in JAVA they are not calling Kernels by Patch No like 154, 175... they call it by SP19. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Did anyone come accross this type if issue? I would appreciate if anyone can clarify my questions given above.
    My main target is to have clear strategy for ABAP+JAVA, ABAP, JAVA kernels to avoid mess up. Which one to download? What is best practice? Differences?
    Thanks and Regards
    Prasad

    Hi Sacha,
    Thank a lot for your answer I am clear now. Before rewarding points to you.
    I have final question.
    You mean that there is not seperate kernel for Java Stack Systems.. When we apply SP11 or SP19 by default it applies Kernel and also support packages w.r.t the SP. Do we have option to seperate Kernel and Support package while applying SP's for Java System?
    If we take for example SAP NW 2004 (WAS 640) latest kernel is 175 (I mean ABAP+JAVA). If I want to know the latest kernel for Java Stack system, Do I need to say it is at level SP19 or check the sapwebdisp -V (Resepctive patch level)?
    For ABAP system we check disp+work -V to get the source kernel version. How to justify the source kernel version for Java System?
    As per SAP Note: 710914 - Upgrading the J2EE Engine Startup Framework after applying SP for Java System, Do we need to upgrade J2EE Startup Framework?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Prasad

  • Java.lang.ClassCastException when trying to retrive a jdbc/OracleDS

    Hello friends, I'm experiencing a rare problem, "java.lang.ClassCastException" when trying to retrive the jdbc/OracleDS datasource using JNDI lookup, the exception is there, either, when running in the embebed OC4J from JDev 10.1.3.3 or when deploying (the War) to my OracleIAS (10.1.2). Actualy we are programing the DataSource and changing the URL each time we update the application (in both environment: Developer and Production), it is just a temporary "work around" while we find the real solution.
    We can't Cast a Oracle Object (oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource) to the java DataSource. Why?
    Here you have the story:
    The application wa started in Eclipse 3.2 with Tomcat 5, and we are using Struts 1.1 and Hibernate 3, in this environment we don't have problems. the problem happens during deploying the application to our Orace AS 10g (10.1.2). When googling for solution we found related problems in some forums, so we tried all the solutions explained in that post, including this. Finaly, we failed to find the solution.
    After that, we migrate the application to JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, and then try the JNDI lookup and the problem STAY, then we did everything again into JDev:
    - Changed the default jdk from 1.5 to 1.4.2_06, for the projects, the embebed OC4J and the Java Compiler....
    - Configuring the DataSource manualy in the xml.
    - Testing with several jdk version, trying on embebed oc4j, standalone oc4j, Oracle IAS, and so on.
    - We have tried everything we found in the posts.
    But .... the problem still :'(.
    We have found that some guys have solved the problems with the change of the jdk and other small stuff, but all that were not enough for us.
    Have somebody found other solution for this problem or we have some alien problem here?.
    Thanks in advance.

    Fer Domin, thanks by your replay.
    The answer for your question is, YES. We have tried with several DataSource types in the Oracle side (app server,embebed oc4j, standalone oc4j) and the app side (java). Also, all jdbc datasource extend the javax.sql.DataSource .. so it's rare to have this error when doing a simple jndi lookup.
    We tried deploying a small app (from Oracle) to test the DataSource in the app server (10.1.2.0.2) and it was working well. But we don't know which jdk was used to package that ear/war (I mean the TestDS small app).
    So, everything look like we are having a jdk compatibility problem ... but we don't know which it's or where it's.... because we configure JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 to use the same jdk, even for compiling and running the embebed oc4j and the problem still.
    Thanks again.

  • Java 1.2 Versus Java 1.4?

    This may sound quite strange, but I have a java program which uses Runtime.getRuntime().exec(...) and runs a perl process. The thing is when I run it using java 1.4.1 on a Solaris 9 platform, the perl script fails. However, if I use java 1.2 on Solaris 9 platform, the perl script works fine. However, java 1.2 is much older so I'm hestitant to use it.
    What differences are there in java 1.2 versus 1.4 with regards to the Runtime.getRuntime exec???

    Unfortunately this stupid perl script isn't that
    easy. It uses Rational cqperl, then some libraries
    and modules I don't understand. I can't even find
    the actual code it uses that uses flexlm.
    That's why I was asking what is different with java
    1.2 and java 1.4. Is there some way that Runtime
    acts differently?Not in any fundamental way that I am aware of.
    The fact that the script is running at all though tells me that the problem is on the PERL side of things. I suspect that some of those modules and libraries are not being loaded correctly or the same way on both systems.
    I fear the answer is that you need to figure out what components the script needs to run and make sure that it has them under all circumstances. This is like a classpath problem except it is with your PERL script so you need to solve it as a PERL problem.
    Again if it wasn't running at all that would be one concern but it is running just not finding all it's bits.. a problem of that nature strongly indicates that the issue is happening once the process has already been spawned (correctly) and so is out of the realm of the Java part of your program.

  • Conversions between java.util.Date, java.util.Timestamp and java.sql dates

    I am coding a hoilday booking system using JSP to interact with a SQL Server database. On my JSP form which retrieves the information I have a little javascript pop-up date selector which appears to be returning a Timestamp value although the string value is visable in the entry field. Can I pass this to a javabean as a Timestamp, so far I have only passed strings? Also I then have to enter it in the database and so will need to convert it to an sql date type but I dont know which one is best. Previous to using the Timestamp returning calendar I was just entering text and parsing it to a util.Date in the bean and then converting that to an sql.Date for entry in the database. That worked fine but I want to use the pop-up any ideas? Also my bean won't compile if I declare java.util.Timestamp t;(cannot resolve symbol Timestamp !) even though I have imported util.

    First of all, java.util.Timestamp does not exist. You probably need java.sql.Timestamp.
    java.sql.Date and java.sql.Timestamp inherit from java.util.Date. So converting from java.sql.Date or java.sql.Timestamp to java.util.Date is easy, you don't have to do anything.
    To convert a java.util.Date to a java.sql.Timestamp, do something like this:
    import java.sql.Timestamp;
    import java.util.Date;
    Date date = new Date();
    Timestamp ts = new Timestamp(date.getTime());Jesper

  • Useless code in java.awt.image.SampleModel.java?

    Hey there,
    i just looked up the sourcecode of java.awt.image.SampleModel.java in JDK 6
    I discovered two issues i'd like to discuss.
    1) on lines 736 to 739 this code is stated:
    if (iArray != null)
    pixels = iArray;
    else
    pixels = new int[numBands * w * h];
    I asked myself, why does this code exist? while the getPixels() method is overwritten twice by double[] getPixels() and float[] getPixels, it is impossible to reach the part of the java code that initializes the pixels-array. One could only step into that line if "null" is given for the i/d/fArray-parameter. but if one would do so, the Java parser couldn't determine, which method is to use. so this part of code is just useless IMHO.
    the java developers could get a little more performance out of this method if the if statement would be cut out - especially when reading a lot of very small rasters
    or, on the other hand, they could replace this piece of code by an explicit bounds check.
    When somebody touches this code, i would appreciate it if the errormessage "index out of bounds!" could be rewritten to be a little more verbose, like: Index out of bounds(x=123; y=456, maxX=100, maxY=400)!(numbers are just examples)
    I hope i didn't miss something very basic and could help improving this class a little bit.
    2) the local variable Offset(line 734) is coded against code conventions which say, variables shall start with a lowercase letter. Offset obviously doesn't fit that convention.
    best regards
    kdot

    One could only step into that line if "null" is given for the i/d/fArray-parameter. but if one would do so, the Java parser couldn't determine, which method is to use. so this part of code is just useless IMHO. You can have
    sampleModel.getPixels(x,y,w,h,(int[]) null, dataBuffer);No ambiguity on which method to use.
    the local variable Offset(line 734) is coded against code conventions which say, variables shall start with a lowercase letter. Offset obviously doesn't fit that convention. You're correct, offset is against coding conventions. So are many other examples scattered throughout the jdk source code. For example, Hashtable should be called HashTable. In some cases the coding conventions might not have been established when the original code was written. In other cases it might have been human error. In yet other cases the conventions were probably ignored. The person who wrote the SampleModel class did so some 10+ years ago (Java 1.2). Who knows what he/she was thinking at the time, and in all honesty - does it really matter in this case?
    Did you know there are some classes that declare unused local variables (ahem ColorConvertOp)? Some also have unused imports ( *** cough *** BufferedImage *** cough *** ). In essence, the jdk source code is not the epidemy of code correctness. But it's still pretty good.

  • Java.awt.Dialog in Java 1.6 has a memory leak

    When a modal Dialog opens a modal sub-dialog, the Dialog stays in memory after both the sub-dialog and the Dialog itself is disposed.
    The field that contains the leaked object is Dialog.modalDialogs (static). The methods which causes the leak are Dialog.modalHide and Dialog.modalShow.
    Whenever a modal Dialog is opened, Dialog.modalShow is called, and adds itself to Dialog.modalDialogs.
    When it closes, Dialog.modalHide is called and removes one copy of itself from Dialog.modalDialogs. Then Dialog.modalShow is called on all previously blocked modal dialogs. When the sub-dialog is opened and closed, Dialog.modalDialogs contains two references to the main Dialog, and only one of them is removed when Dialog.modalHide for that Dialog is called.
    To detect the leak, just put a break point in Dialog.modalHide, after modalDialogs.remove(this);. When opening a Dialog and closing it without opening a sub-dialog, the Dialog.modalDialogs field should be empty. When a sub-dialog was opened and closed before the main Dialog is closed, the Dialog.modalDialogs field contains a reference to the disposed main Dialog.
    This leak does not exist in 1.5.0_10 (no Dialog.modalDialogs field). I have searched the bug database, but I have not found this bug there. Could anyone confirm this?
    A simple code to reproduce the leak:
    import java.awt.Dimension;
    import java.awt.Toolkit;
    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
    import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
    import javax.swing.JButton;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
    public class Test {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          final JFrame frame = new JFrame() {
             protected void processWindowEvent(WindowEvent e) {
                super.processWindowEvent(e);
                if (e.getID() == WindowEvent.WINDOW_CLOSING) {
                   System.exit(0);
          JButton button = new JButton("Dialog");
          button.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
             public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent aE) {
                JButton subButton = new JButton("SubDialog");
                subButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                   public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent aE) {
                      JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame, "SubDialog");
                JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame, subButton);
          frame.getContentPane().add(button);
          frame.pack();
          // Center the window
          Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
          Dimension frameSize = frame.getSize();
          if (frameSize.height > screenSize.height) {
             frameSize.height = screenSize.height;
          if (frameSize.width > screenSize.width) {
             frameSize.width = screenSize.width;
          frame.setLocation((screenSize.width - frameSize.width) / 2,
                (screenSize.height - frameSize.height) / 2);
          frame.setVisible(true);
    }

    Sorry, I just found the bug in the bugdatabase (with google of course,):

    I checked for other versions of jre but not using java cache didn't cause any problems.
    I checked for the release note of update 19 but I have no clue.
    Is there any way to launch java application without using java cache?

    ..I had a problem changing the cache location. The button for this action is disabled. I can't figure out how to enable it.On my system, it is enabled when the 'cache files' box is checked, and disabled when it isn't.
    1) Without changing the location I assumed that deleting the cached files could be a similar job, so I clicked "Delete Files..." and deleted with all checkboxes checked.I am not convinced that would entirely clear the cache, but have done no specific tests to check.
    2) I unchecked "Keep temporary files on my computer".So it was checked when you were trying to change the cache location?
    3) Applied all the changes.
    4) I launched your demo.
    Result - It was launched without any prompt.
    I revisited the page with the URL and successfully launched the app. again.The application launched just fine, but no prompt.
    If you follow those (links and) steps I outlined exactly, does the file service demo launch twice for you?I'm sorry I don't exactly understand your question. .. Your description is enough to convince me that answer is 'yes'.
    ..I tried twice and it launched twice, but not twice at the same time(it launched once at a time).Surprise, surprise. That is the first mention in this thread of 'same time'/'simultaneously'. Care to share the other defining factors that you forgot to mention, or is guessing part of the 'fun' of helping?
    But still I'm having problems with launching my application.
    I assume that it could be jnlp syntax problem. The "main=true" subelement is missing.It is a good idea to validate the launch files of JWS based launches that are failing for any reason. For that purpose, I offer JaNeLA.
    Having said that, a missing main='true' will not be detected by JaNeLA, since it is not a compulsory attribute. ..But check them anyway.

  • How to use a Java Resource in my java source

    Hello,
    I need to know how to use my external JAR I loaded in the database using this line below:
    CREATE OR REPLACE JAVA RESOURCE NAMED "MyJar" USING BFILE (BFILE_DIR,'MyExternal.jar');
    In fact, I have a Java file using this JAR, but I do not know how to tell to the java source that it have to use this JAR.
    ==========Java Source importing the Jar===================
    package com.gemalto.ws.snmp;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.util.Vector;
    import org.snmp4j.Snmp;
    import org.snmp4j.smi.*;
    import org.snmp4j.TransportMapping;
    import org.snmp4j.transport.DefaultUdpTransportMapping;

    import org.snmp4j.PDU;
    import org.snmp4j.event.ResponseEvent;
    public class SNMPAgent
    ==========================
    Could you give the SQL request or loadjava command line permitting to do use my java resource file?
    Thks

    The JAR is already load by using CREATE JAVA RESOURCE ... or "loadjava -resolve –force -user p/p@SID –genmissing -jarasresource MyJar.jar"
    If we can create a resource by SQL or loadjava, how can I use it in my java code?
