# sign in postal code field.

Hi Experts,
In ADRC table entry for an addr number, there is # sign in postal code field (NG26BJ#).
And due to this incorrect # sign, there are issues occuring in the system.
Can you suggest where do I search for this # sign in the system?
I mean I searched for customer master, vendor master, etc but could not find out # sign in any partner data postal code field.
Please suggest.

Check all the tables that are on 'where used' list for ADRNR data element in dictionary (SE11).
If it is an "orphaned" record, BW interface should not be actually pulling it in. I would recommend to base the interface on the main table (e.g. KNA1) and only pull ADRC records that are referenced.
The easiest solution would be to write an ABAP report to update the record directly in the database. I wouldn't delete it though, just removed the # sign. Also check the OSS notes or send a message to SAP and they might provide such report for you.

Hello,
Right now I have a postal code field set up to allow a certain format. Right now it will only let the user enter letters, numbers and spaces. I want to put a restriction on the field so that the user cannot enter a space in the field. I am having problems doing this though. Below is the script I am using in the EXIT event. Please let me know if you can offer any help.

You can try placing the below code in Change event with java Script.
This will restrict the input to numbers and letters only.

Populating postal code field

Tried inputting first 3 characters of my postal code as requested but keep getting a '8-2' error code. The site's web master says I needed to download a current Mac security update. I did that, but am still having the same problem

Empty the Safari Cache from the Safari Menu Bar, Safari/Empty Cache... then relaunch Safari. Try that site. If you still have problems, go to Safari/Preferences then select the Security tab. Click the Show Cookies button. Delete the website url, then click Done. Now click the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to: Other forms. Delete that website .name.com and click Done.
Relaunch Safari.. try that website.

Unable to make Postal code as required field in Vendor master creation

Hi,
We have a requirement of making Postal code (POST_CODE1) field under street address of new vendor master creation/change as a required field.
In the configuration settings of vendor account group (OBD3), SAP provided Postal code City combined as only one field.
Even after making the Postal code&City field as required in the configuration of a particular Vendor group (OBD3), the system is allowing to create new vendor master under that particular group with out the input of Postal code.
The system only making the city (CITY1) as required filed but not the Postal code (POST_CODE1) even after setting Postal code&City field as required in OBD3.
Could you please provide the activities to be performed apart from the above so as to make Postal code as required filed at the time of the vendor master creation/change

Yes, it is country specific. It will affect in vendor masters as well Customer masters.
You have two options now :
Create a Transaction variant using SHD0 and Make Postal code field as required and create a custom transaction code in SE93 (Transaction with Variant (Variant transaction) and assign here and save. Your requirement will be fulfilled.
Else you can go for Enhancement using EXIT_SAPMF02K_001 Vendors: User Exit for Checks prior to Saving
The following user exits exist for vendor master records:
o Check entered data before saving
Please refer to the interface description of the function module to see which data is available.
If we found any other solution we will let you know the same.

Using IMB Postal Code with LiveCycle Designer ES

I am trying to add an IMB postal code field to my form that auto-populates based on the 5 or 9 digit zip
the user enters. I found the IMB filed and dragged it to the form. Gave it the same name as the zip code field the user keys. However, after I key in the zip code it returns the following error:
Invalid Barcode Value: 24551-3938 is an invalid value for barcodes of type USImb.
Can anyone assist with this issue? It actually creates a IMB barcode if I ignore the error message and tab through but when I compare the IMB created to an actual one from some mail pieces I received using this address ... they are not the same at all.

Not sure why you are resolving the node (??), also I would not be inclined to include a period in the object name (.), maybe this is why you are resolving the node.
Also I don't see in the script where you are calling the instanceManager, in order to use the addInstance method.
Having said that the problem may be in the File > Form Properties > Defaults tab:
Check that Preserve script changes is set to Automatic.
Lastly is the form Reader Enabled? It would need to be for users with Reader to save the changes, including new instances of a repeating element.

hi
i am having a postal code value.
need to place this value in postal code field of customer master while running bdc.
This field is having formating options specific to the country. I may have any number of countries.
How to format the value basing on the country and then consider for the BDC.
any function module or some other procedure

normally not but in asset reporting there seems to be a relation between structure and report-name (not tcode)
go to tcode se11 and search for structures with search term FIAA_SALVTAB* and you'll find some structures.
The last part of the name (RABEST, RABEWG ) is the link to the report (RABEST01, RABEWG01)

Clearing the the street,Postal code and city in partner tab at sales order

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement like in sales order header or Item, In partners tab, when they are selecting the particular partner function like CR and the customer number is 500, and if they press enter then automaticaly it fetches the name,street,postal code and city at the right side for that entry. My requirement is like for particular customer 700, they want to hide the customer address in that Partner tab while sales order creation VA01. If they select the partner function CR and customer 700, after pressing enter, it shouldn't fetch the automatic address of that customer. They just want the customer name and remaining fields like street,postal code,city should be blank.
Can you please let me know how to reach this requirement ate sales order creation or change level in partner function tab.
I test these exits EXIT_SAPLV09A_001 to EXIT_SAPLV09A_004 but no use. Let me know possible ways to achieve this?
Any idea on these?

Hi,
This is happening because you have not maintained your data in sales order.
Billing document takes the reference of order and delivery document for taking the data.
Now if you donu2019t maintain your partner function in order nor in delivery then it wont be determine in billing document.
If you want ZZ to shown in billing document then you have to make that function visible in sales order.
While creating sales order it will take it from customer master data but when you are creating billing it wont search in customer master data it will search in sales order only.
You can do one thing make that function non modifiable in partner determination procedure.
So it cant be change in sales order.
But I want to know why you want that should not be visible in sales order.

I Can't make the Geocoder handle Canadian Postal Code properly

Does any one out there was able to approprietly setup Oracle Geocoder to properly return canadian postal code for a specific address in a dense urban area ?
In Canada, a single street segment can have two different post codes when located in dense urban areas such as Montreal. One on the left and one the right... so one for odds number and one for even numbers.
I don't see how to acheive this in the actual Oracle Geocoder table structure.
I see two solutions to my problem. In order to appropriatly return a canadian post code for a specific address, Oracle would need to
(1) have the GC_ROAD_SEGMENT_CA table have a L_POSTAL_CODE AND A R_POSTAL_CODE field. Thus returning the good postal code knowing if the house_number is odd or even.
OR
(2) have the GC_ADDRESS_POINT table have a POSTAL_CODE field allowing to directly return the postal code associated with an address.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

With your enqueue code the message is being made available for any default subscribers. As it stands the message will be propagated to the target queue and made available for the consumer sender.
So if you change your dequeue code to
dequeue_options.consumer_name := 'SENDER';
it will consume the message that has been propagated.

Vendor Master - Can Postal Codes be different?

Hi.
A vendor has his office in Country X and the PO Box in Country Y.
So, the Postal Codes will be in different format.
We have two fields in the vendor master (xk02) :
City Postal Code : ADDR1_DATA-POST_CODE1
PO Box Postal code : ADDR1_DATA-POST_CODE2
However, the PO box postal code doesnot accept anything other than the format of the City Postal Code.
Is there a possibility to accomodate both postal codes (in different format eg. NNNN AA and NNNNN)

Hello all,
I have one question regarding the postal code.
When we enter a postal code which is 01987 for example in the plant. why does SAP remove the 0 in front of 1987. any idea??
When we create a PO as well the postal code picks up only 1987 but the 0 is left out...
What is the reason behind this... my client wants the 0 as well... what do we do to get the whole postal code which is 01987.

I cannot really believe this as postal code is a character field, and in my system the leading zero is definitly not removed.
do you have the same issue in vendor master and customer master?
Maybe you have a validation for that field which removes this value.
In IMG > SAP NetWeaver > general settings > country definitions > country specific checks
is defined what checking rule is used for the postal code.

Hi Suresh,
When you have the Customer numbers with you.. go to the customer master data table KNA1.
KNA1-KUNNR is the Customer number field.
Write : SELECT SINGLE ADRNR
FROM KNA1
WHERE KUNNR EQ "Your Sold-to or Ship-to Customer".
Use this ADRNR to get the address details from the Address master data table ADRC.
SELECT SINGLE name1 name2 name3 name4
post_code1
street
city1
FROM ADRC
WHERE addrnumber EQ "The ADRNR you got from KNA1".
In most cases you will get these details from KNA1 itself.. NAME1, PSTLZ, STRAS, ORT01 are the fields.. But in few cases you need to get the data from ADRC.

Canadian postal code not taking in web forms

Seems like Safari changes a postal code entry like N1C to 1-1 and will not allow me to edit the 1-1. Any ideas?

I see the problem. The zip field is designed to accept only 5 characters. Tried it on Firefox too with the same result.
I believe Canada codes are at least 6 characters. Did Safari return an error when you sent the "contact us" info, while Firefox did not? If so, Firefox would have accepted the alpha characters, Safari not.
If that's the case, coding errors exist on the site which Safari would not accommodate, but Firefox probably would - it's much more forgiving with this type of poor coding.
Anyhow, good lesson in using another browser when rendering difficulties happen with Safari.
