Signature in Imessage?

How do I create a signature in Imessage?  Can't find it anywhere

The iPhone does not support signatures in messages.

  • How do I get rid of the signature in iMessage on the I phone5

I got an I phone 5 yesterday and every time I text non-I phone users I have a smiley face at the bottom of each message I send to them. I went through almost everything on the settings nothing is working. How do I get rid of it?

The above solution was for email messages, but I believe you are experiencing this with iMessages.
There is no built-in signature capability for the Messages app, did you download an app to do this?

  • HT3529 Setting up signature line for iMessage

Can you set a default signature line in an iMessage?  Many people I text do not know my incoming phone number and I'd rather not keep typing my name and title in an iMessage.  Can someone tell me if this can be done?

That's not a feature of the iPhone. You can set up a keyboard shortcut to make it easier to enter whatever you want.

  • Can I add a signature to my imessages

    Subject says it all.

I am one of many people who receive text messages that are blasted out to everyone who is on the distribution list.  It is important that the sender knows who is replying to the text that was sent; especially when fifty to a hundred people are replying.  Think of what goes on in the emergency community.  First responders who reply to emergency notifications via text page must be able to have their employee IDs or radio call signs or whatever included in their responses.  That is just one example of why you would need a signature.  Regarding the purpose of SMS, I'm sure you are aware of how the intended uses of technologies often evolve into other uses that the designers never considered.  Think of microwaves, or even the Internet for example.  However you feel about SMS,  it will be what the users of it want it to be or it will become obsolete.
Regardless, a simple e-signature (iSignature?) feature is not too much to ask for something as sophisticated as an iPhone.

  • Is there any way to set up an SMS or iMessage signature on the iPhone 4S?

I know it's kinda useless to have a signature, but I really want one LOL.

No. However, you can go to Settings>General>Keyboard and set up a keyboard shortcut for whatever it is you want to use as a signature. Then, at least, you'd have less to type.

    Hi,
I had never heard of someone using the iPhone Number as the ID in the iMessages account in the Mac version.
i.e without adding an Apple ID
iMessages does allow iPhone numbers and mine lists mine.
    I would try this.
Sign Out of the iMessages account and Quit Messages
On the iPhone in Settings > Messages remove the Apple ID
Set the iPhone to Airplane mode for a few minutes (to break with the  Server)
On starting the phone up again check the iPhone Number  is ticked for iMessages.
If it is add the Apple ID
    On the Mac restart Messages
    Add the Apple ID
At this point you should get a pop up or two saying the iPhone is using the Number and Apple ID.
Accept these and they get added to the Receive At list and Send From drop down.

  • How do I make it so there is no vibration for a new message while in iMessage conversation

Hello all. I have an iPhone 5 and was experiencing battery problems. I reset all settings and this appears to have fixed the problem. However I am missing some of my old settings and I am wondering how to get them back. I can't quite remember (terrible I know, is there an app for that?) but I swear that before I reset when I was in an iMessage window (like looking at the screen, I could see people writing, there name at the top, you know what I mean)....and I got a message it wouldn't vibrate. Which I liked becuase I didnt need to be notified of something I was looking at. However if I had the phone locked or on an different app or something it would still vibrate. Do you understand?
Now it either always vibrates (locked, on facebook, or looking at the message window) or doesnt (if i turn vibration on)
I should note that this in in silent mode, or mute mode, whatever it is callled when you move that switch over.
I want to get it so it vibrates only when I am not in the imessage window, when I can see someone is typing and then a new message is sent from them I don't need to be notified.
    Thanks!

Well if your on 10.5.8 like your signature says, then you have bigger problems to worry about.
10.5 isn't supported anymore, so you might as well attempt data recovery (if you dont' have a backup) and call Apple via phone for the 10.6.3 white retail disk.
Step by Step to fix your Mac
    Most commonly used backup methods
Then follow this proceedure to erase the ENTIRE disk with Zero's and install 10.6.3, then Software Update to 10.6.8
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
10.6 will run your older 10.5 software and hardware drivers using Rosetta, but 10.7 and 10.8 will not (also requires more RAM and will slow down your machine)
Over 50% of OS X users are on 10.6 and Apple is supporting it with security updates etc. so you should be good with your present software etc., until you need a new 10.8, 10.9 etc., machine.

  • Searching for a signature app that will interface with my computer applications

I'd like to install my iPad to my computer and use it as a signature pad, instead of buying an external USB signature capture pad.  Can anyone tell me if this can be done with one of the signature apps?

    Hey bishopcheen,
Great question! Apple has announced that these features are coming in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite. For more information, check out the “Messages” section of this page:
    Apple - OS X Yosemite - Apps
    http://www.apple.com/osx/preview/apps/
Messages gives you so many ways to start a conversation. When your iPhone is nearby, you can send a text message from your Mac to groups of friends, even if they use SMS. Or send a photo of your epic karaoke birthday party, then follow it up with a Soundbite audio clip of your encore performance. With Messages, it’s not just what you say, it’s however you want to say it.
Now every message on your iPhone appears on your Mac.
Messages on your Mac has always been a great way to stay in touch. But friends without iMessage couldn’t be part of the conversation. Well, now they can be. All the SMS and MMS messages you receive on your iPhone now appear on your Mac. So you can text any friend without picking up your iPhone. And the conversation stays up to date across all your devices.
iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite are coming this fall. I hope you are as excited as I am!
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • HT3529 How do I append a "signature" to my outgoing messages?

Is there a way to append a "signature" to all outgoing messages on the iphone?

There is no feature to add signature for text or imessage.
You can only add a signature for your email account.

  • Why can't I choose my phone number as my signature in text messaging?

I am using iPhone 6.  Under settings I cannot choose to use my phone number as my signature.  It defaults to my Apple ID ( a personal e-mail) and I do not prefer to use that.  I have been into settings but I cannot change my messaging signature to be my phone #.  Please let me know how I can change this so that it works in the manner I prefer, not Apple's ID setting.

    Axeman:
My apologies for the lack of clarity.  Yes, "Do you mean it is being sent from your Apple ID instead of your phone number?"
When I go in to settings>Messages > Send & Receive > My phone number is not a choice.  I Cannot choose it (as it is greyed out).  I am sure this is somehow related to using iMessage vs. text.
Since I use this phone both personally and professionally I'd like to just choose my phone number vs. e-mail.  Thanks for  your help so far!  Need to find the proper solution.

  • Where can i set a "signature line" to load automatically on text messages?

  • IMessages stopped working after installing Messages Beta!

I installed the Messages Beta on my mac today
    tried sending iMessages, never worked
whats worse is my iMessages on my iphone & ipad stopped working too!
I can no longer send/receive iMessages!
    what is going on????

@eggimage, it says you must be on 10.7.3 - your signature says you're on 10.7.2 - has that maybe got something to do with it?  Just a guess...
I keep getting the "The server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later." thing, even though my time is set automatically and my hosts file is correct and I'm not running little snitch or anything like that (only growl and drop-box) and my certficate store is fine too.
    Any ideas anyone?  Running 10.7.3.

  • Blocking or reporting iMessage spam?

I'm getting daily spams in iMessage advertising a game called DragonVale. I've never heard of this game or the sender, so this is totally unsolicited. How do I block the sender, and/or report them to Apple?
For the curious, the messages are from [email protected] and read
"Raise your own dragons in DragonVale! Download it on your iPhone now:" (followed by a URL)
If you do a web search for that first sentence, you'll see a lot of Twitter spams as the top hits.
Most services social these days have a mechanism to report spam; I'm kind of surprised iMessage doesn't.
    --Jens

As stated in the Spam FAQ page, you will not get any response when sending the message to [email protected] for review. You attach the message that you are unable to send, and they review it. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, the filter will either be updated to allow the content that was previously blocked, or it will be determined to be a legitimate block and no changes will be made.
Some troubleshooting steps you can try:
If you have a signature, try removing one line at a time from it and attempting to send the message again. Some signatures look like "ads" to the filters, apparently.
If you are using a pop3 client (Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.) try sending your message from the verizon.net website. If this resolves the issue, then it is something that your client is adding to the message that is causing it to be blocked.
If the Subject line of your message has a whole bunch of "Fwd: Fwd: Re: Fwd:" try removing some of them.
Remove any links/URLs from the email one at a time to isolate if one of them is causing the block.
Some people have suggested sending the message to [email protected] for investigation. This may work for you as well.

  • Stay SMS *not MMS* while still using iMessage

I just got an iPhone 5 and am having some trouble sending SMS to people on Android on other carriers. Friends are only receiving my texts as MMS messages when they are long. They should automatically split up but they don't, they just convert automatically to MMS. It's a pain for the receiver because they have to pay for MMS and they have to wait for the message to download. I
turned off MMS and it said it couldn't send. I got this message, "MMS Messaging needs to be enabled to send to an email address." I've searched for this error and found that you should turn iMessage off. I want iMessage for other friends and family that use iMessage.
Let me reiterate, I would like to send messages from iPhone to Android that split apart when they get too long instead of convert to MMS (cross carriers, Verizon to AT&T/Sprint) while still using iMessage. What kind of workaround is there for this situation?

        Hello apeycup
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. I'm sorry if the text is 160 characters, there may be delivery issues. I would recommend turning off the iMessage feature as a work around for this issue.
Another workaround is if you have a signature or icon to remove those from your device and retest.

  • My iphone has an automatic signature i want to get rid of, how do i do this?

During the ios7 update my mother somehow added an automatic signature "Today is the day" to her iMessages. It appears at the very bottom of messages and we cannot seem to get rid of it. Any help would be very much appericated.

This should take care of the message.
Open "Settings" "Mail, Contacts, Calandars" scroll down to "Signature" and tap into there. The message should be there. Simply erase and back out. That should take care of it.
