Significance of cms.properties and css.xml

Hi All,
Could anyone let me know the importance of cms.properties and css.xml files in detail.
What information do these files convey ?
Thanks.

  • Loading AMConfig.properties and ServerConfig.xml files

    Hi
    I am building a standalone java application that given a user name it needs to get the roles for this user and then load the permission sets of all the polices that are assigned to the role's of the user.
    1 - Connect to Access Manager
    2 - Login as Admin
    3 - Get AMUser Object
    4 - Read User Roles
    5 - Create Policy Manager
    6 - Get Policy Names
    7 - Read Policy Object
    All steps are working fine except number 7 as I need to load the serverconfig.xml file but whenever I put it in the config folder I can't get an AMStoreConnection object.
    any ideas about how to load both files with no problems or to load the serverconfig.xml file after creating an AMStoreConnection object.

    You can use SAX... but SAX is good only if you want to read the data once.
    If you want to use the same data again and again then you might have to parse the file again... which prooves expensive.
    DOM will take too much of memory and CPU time.
    Have you tried using JDOM ? it is a new kind of a XML parsing utility that is quite lightweight and has good api to recurse the JDOM tree also.
    check it out at
    http://www.jdom.org.
    hope this helps.
    regards,
    Abhishek.

  • CSS XML and superscripts and subscripts...

    Hello all,
    Simple... I am loading text into a dynamic text field via XML
    and styling it using a CSS stylesheet . But here is my problem, how
    can I use the and tags. Now, I have read on
    live docs that the Flash player does NOT (that's right, does not)
    support these properties of XML or HTML, which is hard for me to
    believe. Has anyone out there found a work around... I have tried
    pretty much everything.
    Cheers

    you're right, flash doesn't support these tags...

  • How to add .xml, .js and .css files to a xml viewer?

    Hi,
    I have a xml viewer in a web part to display a moving txt message.
    I created a doc. library called XmlWebParts and in it 3 files with the same name. I am referring the xml file in the doc library with no issues.
     WarningMessage.xml
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://icare/sites/IT/tst/XmlWebParts/WarningMessage/WarningMessage.js"></script>
    <div class="marquee">jQuery marquee is the best marquee plugin in the world</div>
    <br/>
    <a class='p' href='#'>Pause</a> | <a class='r' href='#'>Resume</a>
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://icare/sites/IT/tst/XmlWebParts/WarningMessage/WarningMessage.css"/>
    WarningMessage.js
    var $mq = $('.marquee').marquee();
    //Pause
    $('.p').click(function(){
      $mq.marquee('pause');
    //Resume
    $('.r').click(function(){
      $mq.marquee('resume');
    and
    WarningMessage.css
    .marquee {
      width: 300px;
      border: 1px solid #ccc;
      background: #ccc;
    The issue I am having is that the txt display with the formatting but is not moving, is just display the txt.
    I followed this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/20764.sharepoint-2013-build-a-webpart-using-html-javascript-and-the-xml-viewer-web-part.aspx

  • Best way to handle .properties and .xml files

    Hi,
    I have an application which contains so many properties and XML files, these are a part of WAR file which we deployed in
    tomcat server. Whenever we make changes to these properties and XML files we redeploy the app and start the server.
    Is there any way we can make sure that these files can take changes without redeploying or starting the server?
    Please clarify.
    Thanks.

    Sure - keep them outside of the war. Pick any directory where you can put them (a directory where the server is allowed to read of of course), load them from that directory in your application. Make sure you can reach that directory through (S)FTP to easily be able to modify them. Then all you need is a way to reload them in the application, should the information be cached.

  • Metadata Properties and XML Form

    Hello,
    I have two metadata properties, Country and City, City is a dependent properties, when I select a Country the City change according to the value of Country. I put  in the XML form two combo box associated with Country and City properties, the Country is filling correctly, but the City is filled with numbers instead of the name of the City, and it don’t change according to the Country. If I see the properties in the details of the Xml Forms this two properties work fine. What is wrong? It is possible to include a dependent property in a XML Form or there is another way to do that?
    Thanks in advance for your help
    Maria Teresa

    Hello,
    Thanks for your help, but I read this document and I create the properties Country and City, they work fine if I check this in the Details of a document, but when I put this two properties in the XML Form, the Country property works fine, but the City property isn't filled with the valued I configured. What is wrong, how can I put a dependent property in a XML Form?
    Thanks

  • SWF with xml and css to flv format..need help

    I have slideshow that is your typical stand alone .swf with accompanying .xml and .css configuration files along with a folder for the images. I don't have the .fla
    I need to flatten this or merge it all together to create an flv. Is this possible and if so how do I do this?
    Because this is a client I can't just re-create another slide show..it needs to be exactly the same. For me to redo it entirely in fla would be so very time consuming as the slides have 2-3 different effects each and to get the timing exactly right would be near impossible.
    I hope someone has a magical solution for me.

    Actually Rob, right after posting I came across a post mentioning screen
    recorders and tried 5 of them. However, I am either not using the right
    settings or the progs I tried weren't good enough cause all of them have
    some freeze and jump during recording and the vids don't come out smooth. I
    think this may be because although they allow you to set frames per seconds
    for recording, they all vary that setting during the actual recording. I can
    see the frames per second going from 18 to 12. I am not really experienced
    in video.
    Here's the list of those I tried: CamStudio, Free screen recorder, BB
    Flashback2 express, BSR screen recorder 4 and ZealSoft.
    If you happen to know of a really good one or what the right settings might
    be I'd be glad to hear it.
    By the way, so far, you seem to be the only one who got my question
    right..all other replies I got from varying forums tell me to google swf

  • Passwords in css.xml

    What cipher/encryption is used to save passwords in the css.xml file for Shared Services? I need to automate password changes for User Directories and was hoping to edit the css.xml file directly. Is there a command line utility or possible Java API call that can return an encrypted string?
    Thanks

    Thanks so much for your help.
    I executed CSSEXPORT successfully on my DEV server. The export.properties file I used had this:
    # For export operations, use the URI of the CSS.xml belonging to the Shared Services that controls the source Native Directory.
    # For import operations, use the URI of the CSS.xml belonging to the Shared Services that controls the target Native Directory.
    # Example, http://MyServer:<port>/framework/getCSSConfigFile or file:/C:/Hyperion/CSS.xml
    importexport.css=file:/F:/Hyperion/deployments/Tomcat5/SharedServices9/config/CSS.xml
    I have problems executing CSSEXPORT on my PROD server.
    CSSEXPORT did not even encrypt my password not kick out a trace file; which leads me to believe that something is wrong with my css.xml file.
    On PROD server, when I tried running
    F:\Hyperion\common\utilities\CSSImportExportUtility>CSSExport.bat export.propert
    Ies
    I got this error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/hyperion/css/exch
    ange/CommandUtility
    I check my CSSexport.bat file and the set JAVA_HOME=%HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0 matches that in DEV server. Both servers have this directory: %HYPERION_HOME%\common\JRE\Sun\1.5.0\
    Any idea why I'm getting error ?
    Thanks.

  • Cost involved in changing the code using log4j.properties to log4j.xml

    i have finished my application, and it was done in such a way that logging is done using log4j but it was using log4j.properties file.
    now i need to change it to log4j.xml. i need to do this at the earliest. so i need to know the cost involved in it?. do i need to change a lot on my app to read the log4j.xml?. In my app there is a function named getProperties, which actually reads the log4j.properties file.
    this is the code of that function
    public static Properties getProperties(String filename,String path) throws myException
    //InputStream is = null;
    FileInputStream is=null;
            Properties props = new Properties();

                log.error(message);
            throw new myException(message);
            try
                props.load(is);
            catch (IOException e)
                String message = "Error reading property file " + filename;
                log.error(message);
            throw new myException(message, e);
            finally
                try
                    is.close();
                catch(Throwable t)
                    t.printStackTrace();
            if(props.isEmpty())
                String message = "No properties are defined in " + filename;
                log.error(message);

    1. Restructure log4j.properties into log4j.xml.
    thats done
    2. Move log4j.xml into a directory that's in the
    classpath.
    actually i donot understand what does it mean to move in a directory thats in classpath means. i have to use logging in my webapplication running in tomcat. and my log4j.xml has to reside in catalina.home/properties/. My log4j.properties have been residing here and it had worked well woth the previous function. Now what i did is placed the log4j.xml under properties folder. Now tell me what modifications should i make in the above code.
    3. Remove any code that explicitly configures log4j
    (i.e. the initialize() method) because log4j will
    configure itself from any properties file it finds in
    the classpath, automatically, the first time it is
    called.I prefer not remvoing this function as this function is being called in many of my classes... and we don't have time to edit all...
    please help... and excuse me if i asked some blunders.!!!

  • How to store and retrieve XML messages in AQ using ESB/ BPE

    Hello,
    I am having a requirement which I feel should be fairly common - store and retrieve XML messages in AQ. However, I am struggling to decide which type of queue to use AQ or JMS...Here is the requirement
    1. In an ESB, I want to read different kind of files using file adapter. Different kind as in, having different structure or schema
    2. I want to create a queue that is capable of storing any kind of xml data. To this queue, I want to enqueue the message read in step 1.
    3. In another process, say a BPEL, I want to dequeue the message and write into a file. The filename is retrieved from one of the header properties. I want to dequeue using a stored procedure, not by using a JMS or AQ Adapter (reason being that these adapters poll the queue, and consume a message immediately. However, I want to consume the message only when there is a business need)
    My questions are:
    1. What kind of queue I should create in the DB (What should be its payload type...XMLType? )... I guess the answer would also determine the adapter to be used - JMS or AQ
    2. How I should map the xml data read from the file in step 1 to this adapter
    Any help is highly appreciated.

    You are right in suggesting that I dont need to store my XML data as xml in the DB...I dont want to too :) but its just that, thats the only option I can see at this time (the other track i am exploring is :
    File adapter(XML) -&gt; Convert to opaque (base64binary) -&gt; Enqueue opaque to JMS (aq$_jms_bytes_message) -&gt;Dequeue Opaque -&gt; Write file opaquely.
    In this I have hit the roadblock in trying to convert XML to base64binary...maybe some custom java function is needed...anyway)
    Coming back to this thread, where I am trying the following
    File adapter(XML)  -&gt; Enqueue as XML to queue  -&gt;Dequeue XML -&gt; Write file opaquely.
    PS: I think its important for me to mention that I am using SOA 10.1.3.1.0
    I tried the steps you gave...after creating the queue, I am trying to create a JMS adapter. But the queue I created doesnt show up in the browse window of destinations for the JMS Adapter..That had led me to infer that JMS adapter cant be used
    {color:#99cc00}CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE batchupdate_row_type AS OBJECT

    {color:#99cc00}CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE batchupdate_rec_type AS VARRAY(9999999) OF batchupdate_row_type;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE payload_type AS OBJECT ( payload batchupdate_rec_type);
    EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE_TABLE ( queue_table =&gt; 'jmsuser.batch_update_queue_table', queue_payload_type =&gt; 'payload_type');
    EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE ( queue_name =&gt; 'batch_update_queue', queue_table =&gt; 'jmsuser.batch_update_queue_table');
    EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE ( queue_name =&gt; 'batch_update_queue'); {color}
    I also needed some opinion on whether the last step of my proposed solution ( Dequeue XML -&gt; Write file opaquely) is possible. As I want to develop a service oblivious of the structure of the file, I dont want to create a file adapter based on a particular xsd...so I want to write whatever xml I am getting from the queue....is this step possible

  • Draft proposal: Namespaces and CSS

    Hey all,
    This is a draft proposal for how we'll update CSS support to handle
    disambiguating classes via namespace. Feedback appreciated here for now so
    when we get to the formal mini-spec we can rush it through.
    Keeping in mind that most folks have indicated they don't use Type selectors
    much in CSS...
    - Namespace qualification is now required for type selectors in CSS style
    declarations.
    - Gumbo will use the CSS3 suggested syntax for declaring namespaces and
    prefixing type selectors. For the most common component namespace the
    default namespace can be used (ignore the actual namespace url value):
    @namespace "http://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
    Button { color: #990000; }
    Otherwise, prefixes can be specified for each namespace:
    @namespace "http://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
    @namespace cx "com.mycompany.*";
    Button { color: #990000; }
    cx|MyFancyButton { color: #000099; }
    - The namespace mappings that are currently used to map MXML tags to
    ActionScript class names will also apply to CSS3 type selectors. These
    mappings draw information from configured manifests in flex-config.xml,
    swcs' catalog.xml files, and local package namespaces (e.g. how in MXML you
    use xmlns:c="com.mycompany.*" to scope the package name for your custom
    component). Note that namespace/prefix mappings defined in MXML do not
    apply to the enclosing CSS.
    - Type selectors that are either not qualified by a namespace or do not
    resolve to an ActionScript class linked into the Application cause a warning
    at compile time.
    - The version compatibility flag forces the compiler to ignore type selector
    prefixes. This allows Flex 3 applications to continue to use type selectors
    without namespaces.
    - The runtime will only match against fully qualified class names going
    forward. When the compatibility version flag is set for Flex 3 or earlier,
    it only matches against local names.
    - When updating from Flex3, applications will either have to run in
    compatibility mode, or qualify their CSS type selectors using namespaces. We
    continue to discourage type selectors anywhere but the root application
    file, and a warning will be given if type selectors are used outside of the
    root application.

    Is modifying the default namespace per file allowed or will it always be
    the spark namespace?
    Scenario 1.
    Styles1.css
    @namespace "http://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark";
    Button { color: #990000; }
    Styles2.css
    @namespace "com.effectiveui.controls.*";
    SearchButton { color: #990000; }
    Scenario 2.
    File com/effectiveui/controls/SearchButton.mxml
      @namespace "com.effectiveui.controls.*";
    SearchButton { color: #990000; }
    Are these valid?
    Are class selectors scoped to the default/custom namespace and then just
    ignored by the style manager implementation, or are they always compiled
    into the global space?
    Do you expect Flex Builder 4 will provide autocompletion and namespace
    insertion when defining type selectors in css files?

  • Best way to store objects' properties and later remake those objects?

    I want to create a bunch of objects, set their properties and then save that so on restart, the objects can be reconstituted. Is serialization the best way/ Some other way? I want to store them in XML so I can also create a GUI to show the objects stored.

    I want to store them in XMLUse JAXB or XMLEncoder/XMLDecoder.
    so I can also create a GUI to show the objects stored.What does a GUI have to do with writing XML? I don't see how that's in any way related.Thanks. What I meant was that I want to have a JTree populated easily with that info and I know there's good support for populating a JTree with XML.

    Following situation. In SCCM we have one Standalone Primray Site Server and two Site Server. The two site server are also SMS Provider. MDT 2012 was installed on all three Servers and the Config Manager Integration was run. When starting the Console

  • Shared Services directories definition, no more CSS.xml

    Hi,
    I am currently working with version 11.1.2.1 and I would like to access my MSAD directories definition, but it is not contained in CSS.xml as it used to be in version 9.
    I have searched all tables of the Shared Services relational database, and did not find it there either.
    Does anyone know where it is stored now ?
    Thanks,
    JM

    Hi John,
    I would like to rename the MS Active Directories.
    I know that in the relational database, the directories are identified by an internal ID and not by their name, so it should be possible. However, I cannot find where they are defined.
    Something interesting is that http://servername:19000/interop/framework/getCSSFileConfig returns a blank page.
    I already ran epmsys_registry.bat and used CTRL+F and looked for the current name of the directories and it did not return any result. I also used a SQL procedure to search in the tables and did not find anything either.
    Thanks,
    JM
