Hi,
when I'm in my SAP GUI 6.4 and I start a report with the url
<prt_protcl>://<prt_server>/<bi_launcher>?Template=xxxxxx, I have to do my signon again, there is a way to pass the user id and the psw to the portal.

This may work if you set up single sign on. Check with your Basis.

Testing Single Signon partner apps on local dev server

We're just starting to look at hooking our new webapp into the Single Signon Server. What I don't see, at the moment, is a good way of continuing to test a SSO application on local machines so that it can be accessed through SSO when deployed to the server.
The application will have to pick up some user information from the signon to decide which data is accessible. Is there some kind of dummy SSO connection, or should I write one? How have people coped?

Single Signon and Integration with Active Directory

Hi,
We have a requirement to integrate Active Directory with SAP and implement Single Signon solution. Our Active Directory is running on Windows 2003 and we are having systems 4.7 , ECC6.0 which run on Linux OS in our landscape.
Can anyone of you help me by answering following questions
1. Is there any need of any third party solution(tool) to integrate Active Directory and SAP and activate single signon?
2.Is there any difference in integration from SAP 4.7 and ECC6.0 of SAP on Linux OS with Active Directory ?
3. If possible please share any documents or links on above issue.

Signon.useDOMFormHasPassword no longer working with FF 30

Seems that the "signon.useDOMFormHasPassword" workaround (latest working version is FF 29.0.1) to automatically populate username/password fields protected by "autocomplete=off" no longer works with FF 30.
Now with FF 30 I always have to double click each of those "protected" username input field to select the only one entry to automatically populate the corresponding password input field. This is pretty annoying as there is only ONE username to select (which should be auto filled). Why did you disable the above workaround? Is there an other way to re-enable username/password autofill for autocomplete=off protected input fields?
I already tried the following parameters, but nothing changed:
signon.autofillForms;true
signon.overrideAutocomplete;true

I came across this bug already and it describes exactly my issue. Previous to FF 30 the combination of the greasmonkey script AND the signon.useDOMFormHasPassword pref enabled the autofill of password fields. Now that the signon.useDOMFormHasPassword pref is gone in FF 30 this no longer works. I don't think it can be solved by updating the greasmonkey script, the bug explains the reason why:
I'v tried moving the GreaseMonkey script to run as early as I can using "@run-at document-start" and a DOMContentLoaded eventListener on the document but it still runs too late, by the time it runs the new Password Manager has already seen the page content.
So it seems that the workaround was removed in FF 30 without providing a fix for the issue. Again my problem is not about saving passwords on autocomplete=off fields (this is working fine) but on loading them back into this fields without the need to double click the username field and select the single entry.

How to track signon in a query? XMLP-Doku?

Hello,
can anyone give me a brief example how to track signon in a query to limit data in the standalone version of XMLP? Unfortunatly the user manual (PDF) doesn't describe that. The threads in this forum which tell this quit short didn't work to me.
Is there any other important manual or book about XMLP except the PDF user manual?

We wanted to trap the sign-on but oracle has the following response. I heard you can modify the xdo file but this solution is not a long term solution.
Following is the reply from the development:
There is a bug in XMLP 5.6.2 which prevents dynamically passing username in sql, and would be fixed in the next release. Also it req

I have key3.db & signons.sqlite, what to do now ?

I recently moved from a laptop to a computer that I built on my own, I was too lazy to backup anything so I just detached the laptop HD and installed it on my new computer as a secondary HD, then I clean-installed Firefox on my primary SSD (where the OS is installed), trying to recover my old passwords, I ran through multiple articles that say passwords are stored on key3.db & signons.sqlite files, I was able to locate those 2 files and secure them but I don't know what to do next.
Please halp!, I need those passwords ASAP !!!

hi ahamdlm, those articles are probably outdated - current versions of firefox are storing the passwords in the key3.db & logins.json files in the profile folder.

Single-signon for multiple sites or sub sites

Does anyone know of some good articles/publications or suggestions for
implementing a single signon for multiple very secure internet sites in
weblogic type environments.
For example, bank1 has a internet site and bank 2 has an internet site.
Bank 2 has some cool features they want to offer bank1's customers. They
agree but, bank1 wants to present bank2 as a tab or part of bank1 site.
IN order to do this there are lots of fun things, but the things Im
interested in are how to authenticate between them and handle timeouts.
timeouts seem particularly tricky in that if I dont hit a page on bank2
for a while, it could time out its session for the guy on bank1. Also if
im in the bank2 section of the site, then bank1 could time me out as
well.
any ideas let me know.

I am running into the same issue. Out of need, different applications
need to be hosted on different boxes/JVM's/web applications. I am
experimenting with a customer single sign on process which is
independent of Java but lends itself nicely to it. Here is my thoughts:
1) All applications need to run under the same domain. For example:
foo.redrose.net, www.redrose.net, bar.redrose.net, app1.redrose.net
all reside under redose.net.
2) You have a database table (secure) that contains the following:
user id, password, session id, last access time.
3) This database table contains all of the valid sessions across the
domain (in this exmaple .redrose.net)
4) There is a daemon running which runs every ?? seconds that deletes
any records older than ?? seconds/(or minutes/hours) in the
database.
5) There exist a cookie which is set to the domain level that contains
the session id.
6) The session id provides a way to obtain the id and password for the
user to authenticate to the container. For example in WL5.1SP8 there
exists: weblogic.servlet.security.ServletAuthentication.weak(...) to
authenticate to your container. By using this you will get the
capability of setting up your roles and ACLS etc in you web.xml and
weblogic.xml to handle authorization.
7) All requests to any applications participating in this philosophy
must do the following for EVERY request (or appropriate):
Even if you are logged authenticated to the container and authorized,
you may have timed out or logged out of another application. So the
database table must be checked to see if the session id exists. At the
same time, you must also update the last access time to prevent timeout.
8) If the user tries to access a different application which he has not
authenticated to yet - the user will be forwarded to a servlet whichwill:
a) Look for the cookie at the domain level
b) If the cookie is found - get the UID and PWD from database
b2) Present login form if cookie is invalid/not exists
c) Authenticate to container
d) Forward back to original page and let the container handle
authorization since you have already authenticated.
I use have encapsulated the database activity into 3 stored functions:
1) isValidSession(session_id) - Returns null or the user id and pwd
concatentated which will need split apart if needed
2) makeSession(user_id, password) - Returns a new unique session id and
creates the appropriate record
3) cleanUpSessions() - Arguements not yet determined. This will delete
any records older than a certain time. I would like to have the proc
know what to delete without being given a parameter but time to the
second level can be tricky for some DBMS's.
There is a concern of storing the user id and password in the database
but this can be eliminated with a good design to restrict access to the
database table and using encrypted connections.
Hope this helps. Hopefully - a similar philosphy will be adopted by an
application container so I may not have to worry about this and I can go
back programming business functionality.

For Tools only upgrades, while creating the jobs, you should choose 'Initial' and not 'Move to production'

I have an install SQL scripts that creates a Linked Server. I want to put some security on the Linked Server and only grant the Agent Job Signon (the "Run As" or "Executed as User") access to the linked server. I need to retrieve the
Agent Job Signon (something like "NT SERVICE\SQLAgent$FIDEV360BI02").
I could query certain jobs and SUBSTRING the Message column - using some form of the query below, which would return "Executed as user: NT SERVICE\SQLAgent$SSDEVBI02. The step succeeded." But that is pretty imprecise.

by default all sql jobs are executed as sql server agent account, unless otherwise a proxy is setup.
you can get the proxy information as Olaf mentioned, if the proxy_id is null for the step, it implies that the job step was executed as sql server service account and in such case it will be null
so, if it is null, it ran as sql server agent account.
so, one work around is get the sql server agent service account and if the proxy is null, that means it ran as sql server agent account, so, use isnull function. the disadvantage would be if the sql server agent account was switched, you might not get the
accurate information as the new account will show up though the job really ran as old account, to get this information, you need to get this from the logmessage column as you mentioned above.

Upgraded from 3.6 to 8. Firefox 8 keeps wiping out my stored passwords and sign-ons. I keep adding them back (key3.db & signons file). Also, private browsing doesn't work. I push that button and nothing happens.

I replace the key3.db and signons.sqlite files with older ones that i've saved. They work the first time I launch Firefox 8, but if I shut it down and then reopen the browser, they're wiped out again
Also, when I click on "private Browsing," nothing happens. No warning screen. It just sits there.
I'm on Vista Home premium. Been using Firefox and Thunderbird a number of years. Have never had an issue.

Redirect some users on signon (Tools 8.50)

I have a requirement for a subset of my users (those possessing a certain role) to be redirected to a particular page at logon (i.e. they need to be forwarded to a page without seeing the PIA homepage).
These users need to use the same PeopleSoft hyperlink as those whose logon should proceed as normal.

Hi Duncan,
Can't you just create your own Signon Peoplecode (PeopleTools > Utilities > User > Signon Peoplecode)? Add a new record which holds a function which is fired when users try to sign in to PeopleSoft. It's basically the same way as when you enable LDAP authentication. LDAP authentication will require the enabling of the FUNCLIB_LDAP.LDAPAUTH record for the signon PeopleCode to be fired at signin. Then it would be only a matter of creating a function which checks the UserID of the user signing in and redirecting it based on that (%responce.redirecturl=("Http://<your sign on page url>");). If it does not meet these requirements the next record in the signon PeopleCode sequence will be fired.

Changing session language during Single Signon in PeopleSoft

I have a working PeopleSoft Single Signon environment. It is simple architecture where I have used the "Allow Public Access" feature in web profile configurations and a signon peoplecode program.
Users on an external portal are given PeopleSoft component specific URL's with user ID as a query string in the URL (for testing only). However, I'm unable to allow non-English (or user's language preference feature) login as "SetLanguage" is not supported in signon peoplecode. By default the login is in English.
Please let me know if there are any work around for this problem.

Signon using Toad

I am trying to signon as sys to Oracle 9i personal edition with Toad.
I can signon as scott or system but when I try signon with sys/password as sysdba it gives me a error.
When I sign on using Oracle SQL*Plus it works fine.
Can you tell me how to use Toad to make the signon work.

As I recall the TOAD dialogue box has a dropdown list for connection type. To connect AS SYSDBA you need to choose SYSDBA from that list (the default is NORMAL).

Invalid user Id and password for signon to Application designer!!

I am trying to instal peoplesoft HRMS 9.0 on Vista and Oracle 10g release 2.
- Installed Weblogic server
- Tuxido
- Installed Peopletools 8.49
- Installed HRMS 9.0
- Created initHCDMO and created the database
- ran the scripts under the scripts/nt folder
- logged onto datamover with 'system' as user and 'manager' as password and successfully ran the script
- ran the rel849n.sql script and grants.sql after logging onto sqlplus with 'system' as user and 'manager' as password
- after that when I am trying to login to the application designer in 2 tier mode, with PS as user and PS as password, I am getting the error 'Invalid User ID and password for signon'
Can anybody please help me|?

It solved my problem, and I have moved on with the rest of the steps and I am stuck at starting the Application server. I have ran all the datamover scripts and all other configurations for the database. I can login to the database, with sql plus with SYSADM, SYSADM.

Meaning of userNameAs in IEssDomain.signOn() 9.3.1 Java API

have onyone of you tried the "new" (meaning v. 9.9.1 compared to version 7) parameter userNameAs
in IEssbase.SignOn?
exerpt from api doc:
public IEssDomain signOn(java.lang.String userName,
java.lang.String password,
boolean passwordIsToken,
java.lang.String userNameAs,
java.lang.String providerUrl)
userNameAs - The user name you want to impersonate. If null, no impersonation occurs.
My understanding is that I could connect with "userName"/"password", but act as "userNameAs". Is that correct assumption? I could not find any documentation regarding this.
During my tests I always get an error "Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Analytic Server. Error:Analytic Server Error(1051528): Unknown Error: Not a valid entry" when "userNameAs" is not null (but really existing user).
Any information regarding this is wellcome. Thanks.

yeah, null works just OK.
I had an idea that "userNameAs" might be usefull for SSO. We have an intranet portal and we have an "authenticated windows user id" available in the web-appl (feature of portal). If it would be possible to singOn with predefined user id (stored in web appl config), but act as real-authenticated user, this would be perfect SSO... but "userNameAs" != null always thows an exception...
