Silverlight Using 160% CPU

Question

I have a 2009 13" MBP 2.26GHz 2 core 8 GB Ram 750 GB 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid Drive. After a Driver for a Canon Camera started giving me errors, and using a lot of processor.  I deleted it. It solved the problem for a little while. the i started getting other errors. i then upgraded to OS to Moutain Lion 10.8.4 it solved some of the other issuse i was having. but created others. I'm still having major issues playing Streaming movies. this is the  main issue that Im trying to fix. Macs should be able to play a streaming movie.

Which would indicate that you don't have Avast! installed, but Mail seems to think you should. I can only guess that you had it installed at one time and it wasn't totally uninstalled. The extra parts are still lurking somewhere, probably migrated from a previous OS. I downloaded Avast! and it doesn't use the Apple installer to place files, but does seem to contain many files that are probably scattered throughout your hard drive at first launch.
Just some general recommendations on de-installing apps. Always check to see what the developer has to say on how to uninstall an app. In this case the are here. They aren't always perfect, but they are usually much better than trying to use one of those uninstalling utilities or doing it manually. As a last resort you can download EasyFind or Find Any File and search for "avast" without the quotes to see if you can locate anything else.
