Simple database query

Hello everyone,
i would like to have one recordset that i will use for
showing all results from it, but also to filter it with url
parameter.
Now, long time ago, somebody told me to create simple query
with desired filter, then switch to advanced, and edit 'colname'(or
whatever i name it) default value to 0 OR 1=1.
That worked fine till i tried that with CS3 Dreamweaver. When
i try that it doesnt work.
So my question basicaly is:
How can i create one (it is important to be one) recordset
that will show all results if no params were passed to that PHP
page, and filtered result on params if there are params passed to
that page.
Thanks in advance
EDIT
And i forgot to mention when i click test on database
recordset window, i get listed all results from query, yet, when i
run page from browser, i dont retrieve any database
entries...

Ok i have solve it, but i dont know why it doesnt work out of
the box actually...
Out of the box query looked like
$query_Recordset1 = sprintf("SELECT * FROM artefacts WHERE
artefact_id = %s", GetSQLValueString($colname_Recordset1, "int"));
and the one that worked as in previous version
$query_Recordset1 = sprintf("SELECT * FROM artefacts WHERE
artefact_id = $colname_Recordset1",
GetSQLValueString($colname_Recordset1, "int"));
Thanks for reading, hope some from Adobe team will drop in to
comment this...

    Hi experts,
    I am just stucked here...
    e.g.
    String Name = "John Doe";
    String query =
    "select * from table where NameCol = "+Name;
    ResultSet rs =stmt.executeQuery(query);
    while (rs.next()) {
    System.out.println(rs.getString(NameCol);
    The complier complains that "Syntax error !" at
    " NameCol = ....." ?!?!
    Why this is happening ? What is the correct syntax ?
    Thanks in advance !

    Try using '###CreateODBCDate(Form.DateOfBirth)###'. Access is
    strange on
    handling dates. It has a been a while since I have used
    Access so it could
    be as simple as wrapping it single quotes as well. I am
    assuming the
    "<!-----------" wasn't intended, but I could be wrong.

  • Generate an xml file from Database query results

    Hi, can anyone help me out with this problem I'm having. What are the steps in creating an xml file directly from the results of a database query. I currently have a very simply process that queries a database via a partner link. The query returns the data but it's from this point that I am stuck. I need to create an xml file with the data along with the xml tags. I've looked at dozens of tutorials with no luck.
    I would greatly appreciate help with this.
    bpel rookie

    Should be quite simple.
    Create another partnerlink, configure it to use the file adapter, and write to an XML file. In this case you need to create an XML Schema (.xsd) of the file you want to create.
    Before you write to the file, either add assign steps to copy individual attributes or use a transform activity to convert from the database format to the file (xml) format.

  • Word Wrap database query results

    In Visual Studio 2005, when you are looking at the results of a database query, or table (show table data) etc., how can you make the results field values wrap like we use to be able to do in VS 2003 and in Visual Interdev.
    If the field values were longer then what was display in the grid output results, you could expand the column width and row height and the field values would wrap to fit.  If I try to do the same thing in VS 2005 or in sql enterprise manager 2005 the field values don't wrap, they remain displayed in one long line and they just get cut off after a specific number of characters.

    I'm a Program Manager on the SQL Server Manageability team.  We own SQL Server Management Studio.  Sorry to hear about your frustration with our product.  The team had many tasks to complete in the SQL Server 2005 timeframe and there are some usability improvements that seem simple and were overlooked.  We are committed to improving our customers' experience with our products.
    I would recommend that you go to http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/ and file this issue.  You'll be able to track it throughout its lifecycle.  Once we have a solution for the scenario, we will let you know which release of SQL Server in which you will be able to see your suggestion.

  • XPATH Database Query Syntax in an Assign

    Trying to get an XPATH Database query to work by assigning the Input variable value in a simple BPEL Process to my query condition. I keep getting invalid XPATH errors. I cannot seem to figure out how get write it out.

    Any help?
    Thanks!!!

    Ok. I have figured out how to place the condition (variable value) inside a concatentated string. So my final result is the actual XPATH Query-Database statement. But the problem is it is being returned as a String. How can I turn that final string into the XPATH expression I need? I suspect another <COPY> block could pull this off but I am not sure how to do it.

  • Very simple database require

    Hi
    I'm looking for a very simple database solution. I have some very large .csv files that I need to query against before importing to Excel. Filemaker, etc. is over the top for what I need. Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    You could use a script that converts CSV to Appleworks:
    http://www.tandb.com.au/appleworks/import/
    And then export from Appleworks to Excel.
    I know the PowerMac G5 doesn't come with Appleworks, but it is a quarter of the price of Filemaker Pro.
    Maybe the authors of the script could help you.

  • Simple SQL query statement is needed

    I need a simple SQL query to fetch records which is existed in all the departments.
    for example: i want to list the employees which are existed in each and every department.. not sure how should i get those.. will anyone help me please.. thanks in advance

    I think it would be wise to go to the following training:
    Oracle Database <version> : Introduction to SQL
    You will get the information you are looking for in five days. You can go find a tutorial on ANSI SQL, as advised by this board for free, to fix your immediate problem with a simple query. But, I personally recommend a more formal class specific to Oracle, as you will also get information about PL/SQL, and you get the benefit with working with other DBA/programmers when you are learning. This will solve your immediate issue, and any future issues with the language.
    You can find it in the Education section of the Oracle website.

  • Returning database query results under Apache Axis

    I'm trying to write a web service that will return the results of a standard database query. Does anyone have any pointers on what sort of data structure I should convert my ResultSet to that would be best suited to run under Apache Axis? Currently I am trying to use a String[][][], which Axis can serialize and encode fine, but seems to have problems decoding. If someone has some client-side source that is able to receive a String[][][], please post it, as I would rather not have to change the web services around if at all possible.

    According to IBM, the best way to do this is by returning an array of a complex type. Using this idea, I changed my services to return an array of DBRow objects, which I wrote for this purpose. DBRow is a simple class that contains a single private String[] with get and set accessors, in accordance with the JavaBeans standard. If you need more details, just respond to this topic.

  • Database query tool

    Does there exist some kind of common teststand database query tool/gui/form or do all testengineers have to develop their own application for retrieving data ?
    I'm using standard TS schema, and Access DB.
    I'm sure there are 100's of homemade tools out there, but are any of them free to use, or can i purchase something from NI ?
    Bigger companies make their own systems i guess, but this should be a common requirement for everybody using TS

    Try to use the database viewer included with TestStand. You can include it to your deployments as well. So all operaters can go in and view the database.
    From within TestStand you find it in the menu>>Tools>>Database Viewer...This tool is fairly simple and allows you to search on data and filter data in the database.

  • Synchronizing database query with update notifications via AQ

    I am building a financial system and want to keep all my reference data in the database.
    If one user updates a piece of data, I need all users that use that data to be notified of the change.
    I know I can do this using triggers and publish-subscribe, but I have a synchronization problem:
    A client comes up, queries initial value via select, then (or before) subscribe to updates.
    Since the AQ channel is seperate from the regulal DB connection, I do not know if I missed an update notification that happened just after I queried, but before my subscription came into effect, or I might even get an update that is older then my query.
    I know I can add sequance numbers to all updates, and force an initial update each time a new client connects, but that is both slow and complex.
    Can anybody think of a simple way to have a database query synchronized with updates?

    A query with different syntax would result in a different hash value.
    Stored outlines work based on hash value.
    Your question is probably answered now.

  • Looking for a simple database app.

    I have an Excel sheet that i use to store simple database data. Like a flat file database with only 4 columns, no relations, no calculations, just data storage.
    I don't want to download and install over a 100Mb of OpenOffice or NeoOffice just to be able to see my Excel sheet so i was thinking at converting it to a simple cardfiler-like database.
    Guess what? There are no simple databases for the Mac! There is OpenOffice and NeoOffice and there is FileMaker. But no simple, small, configurable card-filer. I checked VersionTracker, IUseThis, but i cannot find anything.
    That makes me think that it already needs to be available on the standard installed apps (please say that i'm right) and i just don't see it.
    Any suggestions? Any help? Am i really missing the point here?
    Thanks all!
    Ton.

    Haven't looked at Wallet. Looked at iData, but that is payware now. I'm trying now woth OmniOutliner which seems to look ok.

    Hi,
    as Daan said, set the variable in Advanced tab but not on loglevel..
    because, our problem is to bypass the bi-server cache.
    Do this:
    1. Go to Advanced tab.
    2. In Prefix field(scroll down to see this field) , enter this:
    SET DISABLE_CACHE_HIT = 1;
    Note: Make sure that you're ended up above statement with semicolon and do not click on Set SQL option...
    3. Save report, then run it..
    4. After you see the query, i recommend you to take take out that prefix tag then save it again..

  • Access database query resultset in java scriptlet

    Question:
    1) I am Creating a web page and plotting points on the page:
    2) Database query results in decimal values dec_latitude and dec_longiitude.
    3) Perform calculations on lati. & long. in a java scriptlet to create a plot position (xpos, ypos).
    4) Send the xpos and ypos back to the java server page
    5) Use <IMG and absolute positioning to plot the point at position xpos, and ypos.
    6) Repeat until all rows in the query result set have been plotted.
    I don't know how to pass the dec_latitude and dec_longitude to the java scriptlet.
    After the java scriptlet calculation translates the latitude and longitude
    into xpos and ypos, I need to pass the xpos and ypos back to the java server page so that a data point is plotted on a map at position xpos, ypos.
    I tried many ways of doing it but am just guessing as
    to how to pass the data.
    Thanks in Advance. - John
    Here is what I am trying so far .... see snippet below:
    The code below results in a runtime error.
    Am I supposed to create a java object and access that in the java scriptlet? Can the java scriptlet access the latvar and longvar created during the "<c:set var="latvar"... ?
    If not, what mechanisum do I use to access the resulting colums: dec_latitude and dec_longitude? I need the java scriptlet to convert the
    dec_latitude and dec_longitude into a display position based on the number of pixels from the TOP and LEFT (xpos, ypos). Then plot of the data point using the IMG and (xpos, ypos). This will overlay a map whose z-index is lower than the plotted data point.

    Thanks
    I still get a runtime error: I translated the code you gave to code below .... which I think is equivalent. See Below: I'm still learning about this stuff so I may not have not translated this properly. Do
    you see what I am doing wrong?
