Simple deploy of JSP with Bus.Cmps to OC4J

Jdeveloper Ver. 10.1.2
OC4J version 10.1.2
I want to deploy a simple app from Jdeveloper to a standalone OC4J instance. I contains a simple table busines component and a UIX table component. I want it to be a public web page, not security/authentication/authorization needed. I deploy the ear file (which includes the war file needed for the jsp), the deployment works and gives me the url to acces the page. On a previous version of OC4j/jedevloper(9.0.3), this always worked without a problem. Now I get a 403 forbidden error when I go to the root location specified in the http-web-site.xml for this application.
http://<server>:<port>/<root location for deployed application>
I cannot find any logging to determine where the error is. Obvisouly there is some new security feature that has been added in this version of OC4j. What do I need to do to deploy a public applcation to this version of OC4j?

Don't go to the root - go to a specific JSP or Struts action.
Look at the URL that you get when you run inside JDeveloper to find out which page you need to get to.

    I have found the solution:
    The Content Services Libraries include a saaj-api.jar (for soap messages between the cs client java code and the server side webservices api).
    Unfortunately, the preconfigured oc4j container downloaded from otn included an older version of saaj.jar in its j2ee/home/applib directory, which of course was found before the cslib version according to the default order in which class paths are read.
    All I had to do was remove he saaj.jar from the oc4j/j2ee/home/applib directory so that content services could find its own (more upto date) version

  • Deploy many jsp with bc4j project  together

    i have 40 project (jsp with bc4j) with jdev 9.03.
    can i deploy all in 1 step ?
    thank's

    If you have 40 projects, this is not good. You can always have them output to the same classes directory. You can then create a deployment profile that packages all of the classes from this directory. It is easier to have two separate projects, one for your middle tier and the other for your web project. You can then setup a dependency from your web tier project to your bc4j project. Once this depndency is setup, you can create a WAR deployment profile for your web project that will deploy all the required classes and web resources.

  • How to deploy a JSP with jsp:plugin with applet type?

    Hi,
    I am a new comer for JSP and when to try to a simple JSP with plugin for applet. Following is part of my JSP script:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="DigitalClock" align="center" height="25" width="300"
    >
         <jsp:params>
              <jsp:param name="language" value="<%=request.getLocale().getLanguage()%>" />
              <jsp:param name="country" value="<%=request.getLocale().getCountry()%>" />
              <jsp:param name="bgcolor" value="FFFFFF" />
              <jsp:param name="fgcolor" value="CC0066" />
         </jsp:params>
              <jsp:fallback>
              <p>Unable to start plugin.</p>
         </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    ===========
    And Java plugin tell me that can't find DigitalClock class. I want to ask how to deply this JSP using deploytool.
    Thanks,
    Wise

    Hi
    It should be in such a way,
    The Jsp:param is similar to PARAM used in Applet.
    <jsp:plugin type="applet"
    code="MyApplet.class"
    width="475" height="350"
    <jsp:params>
    <jsp:param name = "PARAM1" value="VALUE1" />
    </jsp:params>
    </jsp:plugin>
    jsp:fallback Element
    It provides alternate text to browsers that do not Support OBJECT or EMBED. You can use this element in the same way as you provide alternate text in your applet.
    <jsp:fallback>
    <b> Error: This example requires java </b>
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    I hope this will help you.

  • Issues with deploying BC4J/JSP applications on OC4J

    To everyone who's been having problems deploying BC4J/JSP applications to OC4J.
    We are aware that you're having problems deploying to OC4J, and we're working on them. OC4J was not available in time for us to add support for OC4J deployment to the JDeveloper 3.2.3 release. In addition there are some bugs in the first release of OC4J that have an impact on BC4J applications. This note describes the issues, and how we plan to address them.
    Issue 1: Classpath problems
    People have been getting "class not found" or "properties file not found" errors when they try to run their JSP. The answer is to make sure that all relevant archives and your JSP's .properties file are in the OC4J classpath - there's a note addressing the .properties file problem at http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum99/HTML/000028.html. In general though, setting up the classpath can be tricky.
    Issue 2: JSP TAG NOT RELEASED ON END TAG. SAME TAG IS REUSED.
    This issue affects JSP pages whose behaviour relies on a tag instance being cleaned up as a result of release() being called.
    Your tag will not be released, and subsequent instances of the tag will reuse the first instance, rather than instantiating a new
    one.
    Issue 3:JSP SCRIPTABLE VARIABLE NULL
    A scriptable variable set in a tag cannot be accessed by a scriptlet. For example, this JSP code will throw a
    NullPointerException, because the scriptlet cannot access the value of resultRow:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>Workaround: Add a line of code at the beginning of the scriptlet to explicitly get the variable's value from the page context, for
    example:
    <jbo:Row id="resultRow" action="CURRENT" datasource="customer_vo1" />
    <%
    resultRow = (oracle.jbo.Row)pageContext.findAttribute("resultRow");
    session.putValue("FIRSTNAME", resultRow.getAttribute("Firstname").toString());
    %>
    What we plan to do
    To address issue 1, we're currently testing a utility that installs the BC4J runtime libraries to OC4J, and provides a script to start OC4J with the correct classpath. We plan to post this by the end of this week, along with instructions for deploying a BC4J application to OC4J; deployment will be a lot simpler after running the utility.
    To address issues 2 and 3, we're working on a second utility that installs BC4J runtime and provides a fix to the JSP compiler. We plan to post this second utility by the end of next week.
    We do apologise for the problems you're having; please bear with us as we work on making it easier for you to deploy BC4J applications to OC4J.
    Thanks
    Blaise

    Hi, I have been trying desparately to deploy
    a simple example JDeveloper application for months and months.
    I HAVE NEVER BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN DEPLOYING ANYTHING.
    I don't know much about webservers and I am relying
    on the instructions from JDeveloper help and this website.
    I have already tried Apache, and WebLogic
    because there are instructions in the JDev help.
    No luck.
    Now I am trying to use OC4J on 9ias because there are instructions.
    I have read the instructions about how to install a BC4J
    app on OC4J about 25 times, but I can't get this thing to work.
    It works fine inside of JDeveloper.
    I create a BC4J project using the scott
    schema (just the dept and emp tables).
    Then I create an empty project for my JSP client.
    I choose JSP Application from the web
    objects and it connects to my BC4J project.
    As I say, when I run it in JDeveloper, there is no problem.
    In the instructions for installing BC4J
    in OC4J, it first says install JDev 3.2.3 and OC4J.
    This is done, and it tested fine.
    Then it says to install the deployment software.
    No problem.
    But when I deploy the app according to the instructions,
    it just hangs (like Rick Wang's program did).
    The main.jsp page loads and displays correctly,
    but when I click on the links to the DeptView.jsp
    or EmpView.jsp it just hangs.
    Here is the entire batch file I'm using
    to start OC4J: cd c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home

    The file al_BC4J.jar contains my application.properties file
    and my connections.properties file, as well as my business components.
    All of the files referenced in my classpath are
    present in my c:\oracle_9ias\j2ee\home\lib directory.
    I noticed that Raghu's classpath contains a file called jdev.jar
    So does the classpath of another fellow who says
    he was successful in deployment (his name is Jeffrey Jackson).
    I searched my JDev_3.2.3 for this file and found it nowhere.
    I also searched my OC4J home and my 9iAS for this file and
    found it nowhere.
    It is nowhere on my C:\.
    Is this file necessary?
    I will also try removing my application.properties file
    and my connections.properties file from my BC4J .jar file
    and put them in a separate .jar file at the root level (as Raghu did).
    However, Jeffery Jackson did not do this and says he was
    successfull in deployment.

    Hi,
    1] Remove following from server.xml
    <Context path="/SEA" docBase="SEA" debug="0"/>
    2] Paste SEA.WAR (test WAR file) into /webapps of TOMCAT
    3] Start Tomcat Server - This will create SEA folder under webapps
    4] Stop server.
    5] Add following to server.xml
    <Context path="/SEA" docBase="SEA" debug="0"/>
    6] Start Tomcat Server
    7] Access the URL.
    This will work. Somehow Tomcat does not extract war file contents which are mentioned in server.xml.
    I have Apache Tomcat 4.0.3 and faced this problem. The above solution works for it.
    Regards,
    Sandesh
    hi.
    I have put my SEA.WAR (test WAR file) into /webapps of
    TOMCAT.
    I checked the server.xml and put:
         <Context path="/SEA" docBase="SEA" debug="0"/>
    I restarted TOMCAT and tried to execute the file:
         http://localhost:8080/SEA/index.jsp
    But I got error message:
    Apache Tomcat/4.0.3 - HTTP Status 404 -
    /SEA/index.jsp
    What was happenning?
    Anyone can help me?
    Thank you.

  • Deploying jsp with oracle8i

    hello,
    Can anybody tell me how to deploy jsp with oracle8i server which has Jserver and loadjava utilities.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks srinivas and don.
    I have gone through that file.In that file it has been mentioned to use loadjava utility to load java files to oracle database and ojspc uitlity to translate jsps and publishjsp to publish it.
    I have installed oracle8i database server on my machine. I only found loadjava and dropjava utility but not ojspc and publishjsp.
    Can u help me out. Is it that these utilities are not in version 8.1.5 or there is any other way to deploy jsp in oracle8i(8.1.5).
    One more question:when i installed only oracle client on a machine, sqlplus is not running giving a protocol error but when i installed both server and client on a machine then it is fine.Does that mean u cannot install client without server.
    Thanks in advance.
    Reviews from oracle support are most welcome.

  • Deploying a jsp application in OC4J

    Hi All,
    In 9iAS Release 2, can i run a jsp without deploying it on OC4J(i.e, without creating a war file, web.xml and deploying it using the Enterprise Manager deployment wizard). I need to know if there is any other way i can run a jsp. I assume that i dont need to "deploy" a JSP if i use jserv but i would want to stick onto OC4J.
    Regards,
    Sreedhar

    In R2, this is simple if your application contains plain JSPs http://<server>:7777/j2ee/simple.jsp will run each JSP and they can be called from each other by filename. If you are deploying an app with a Java archive, you may need to follow specific deployment instructions for the archive type.
    Note: If your configuration is different, replace '7777' with whatever port Apache is at.

  • Deploying a JSP file

    Hello,
    I am currently trying to deploy a jsp file on the application server from NWDS.
    But unfortunatelly I didn't manage to make it work yet.
    If anybody could provide a step by step howto that would be great, I am not very familiar with the deployment descriptor files for java web applications. So I am having trouble to set the right web project up where I can add my jsp and then deploy and find it on the server.
    My situation is: I have a jsp file from the internet that I would like to deploy on the AS. Afterwards I want to call the jsp directly via the browser. I already have my Web AS setup in NWDS, so I can deploy web projects there.
    I am just not sure, which kind of project to chose and how to integrate my jsp. And afterwards which sub URL to use to call my jsp.
    Any help would be really appreciated!
    Best Regards,
    Peter

    Hello Dibya,
    Thank you for your reply!
    I have actually seen this thread but unfortunatelly I could not make my jsp work.
    One problem I have is that in every guide I found, it says to create a "J2EE -> Web module" project in NWDS. But in my NWDS I only have Application Client-, Connector-, Enterprise Application- and Utility Project under "J2EE".
    Under "Web" I have "Dynamiy web project" and "Static web project" in addition.
    Which one would be the right one?
    I have also tried to create a portal application project like advised in the mentioned thread.
    Basically what I did so far was creating the mentioned projects, then right click the project and choose new -> jsp file.
    Into the jsp file I then inserted the coding of my downloaded jsp file and then I tried to export the projects into an EAR file.
    This also worked. Then I deployed the EAR archive to the application server. But when I am on the application server I am not able to find / open my appliciation.
    For example the last try I did was with the portal application. I have an EAR file created out of my portal application file. Inside the EAR file there is a WAR file. Inside the WAR file I have a folder called "WEB-INF" and inside this folder there is the "jsp" folder and in there is my jsp.
    My question is now, how can I call that jsp after deploying the EAR file?
    Let's say my project is called "test" and I have a "test.ear", inside of that I have the "test.war" and inside there in the "WEB-INF/jsp" folder I have a "abc.jsp".
    When I open my appserver address http://server:port/test I am getting http error 403:
    Error: You are not authorized to view the content of the requested directory.
    Details:
    Directory listing is not allowed on this server.
    So I tried to open the jsp via:
    http://server:port/test/abc.jsp
    http://server:port/test/test/
    http://server:port/test/test/WEB-INF/jsp/abc.jsp
    But neither worked (every time http error 404 - file not found).
    So if you could give me any further hint on what I am doing wrong that would be really appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Peter

  • How to create and deploy a JSP which calls a BPEL process in JDEVELOPER

    Hi Gurus,
    I don't know how to create a JSP in JDEVELOPER which call a BPEL process. I have gone through the tutorials. Since, I am new to JDEVELOPER I need some help.
    1. How to create a JSP (I know creating application and project, also I know JSP coding)
    2. How to deploy this JSP?
    3. For the Synchronos BPEL project, the build.xml is created automatically, in this forum, I see people talking about ear war .deploy etc. How do we get them automatically created. Or do we need to create them manually. If it has to be manual some sample scripts would be of great help.
    Any help in this regard would be really great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sankar.

    I found the following tutorial which clearly explains how to deploy J2EE apps.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/deployment/deployment.htm
    I created a simple jsp file in a project, followed the steps in the tutorial and it got deployed onto: http://localhost:9700
    For invoking BPEL process through JSP, I have reused the jsp files available in : 102.InvokingProcesses\jsp and changed the processes and input accordingly.
    Please post me a query in this thread, if any of you want any specific details.

    Applications that you build with JDeveloper 11g are normally aimed at WebLogic 10.3 servers.
    They require Java EE 1.5 and JDK 6.

    We had a similar problem. A couple of things:
    1. I don't think Tomcat 3.3 is recommended. We are using 4.0 and it works fine.
    2. The directions for deploying to Tomcat 4 in JDeveloper 9.0.2 are incorrect. According the the Tomcat 4 directions, all of your common .jar files should go into your <tomcat_home>/common/lib/ directory (then restart Tomcat). When we made this simple change, all of our problems disappeared.
    HTH

I want to to how can I deploy this application with questions and answers in the recordstore. Each time I run the emulator, the data stored previously gets deleted. Is it possible to attach the rms recordstore along with the .jar or .jad files? If so how can I do it. Please help.
    Thank you all in advance.

    Thank you Sypress.. When I install it the code works fine. But I wanted to include data with the application. I think I found a way way. I added the data in a text file and while starting the application I inserted data from the file into the recordstore.
