Simple javascript code?

hello -
i'm trying to insert some simple javascript into a flash file
to test how it works.
within the html file, i have this code:
<script language="JavaScript">
function mycallback(value) {
alert("hello world! - " + value);
</script>
what should my action/javascript code look like in my flash
file?
here is just a html version of how i want it to work:

thanks!

Well, more the advanced features you need, you'll have to compromise somewhere! The code on the link I gave you is about 5KB. When you minify it, it is about 1.4KB.
Copy the code, use http://jscompress.com/ to minify the code. Include it in your page then.

  • Javascript code for setting output file name of emailed form in Livecycle

    I was given a task of creating a new form with livecycle. I have no knowledge of javascripting so I am struggling with one of the things I am trying to get this form to do. The overview of this form is people around my company fill out this form then hit a button to email the completed form to me. I was able to accomplish part of this task by using the following code within an up mouse event script on a button.
    oDoc = event.target;
    oDoc.mailDoc({
    cTo: ********@******.com,
    cSubject: "IB Update Request - Instance" + IBInstance.rawValue,
    This takes the form and emails it to me with the data from the field called "IBinstance" in the subject line which is what I want but the file name attached to the email is garbage. presently is says "newupdateform.pdf - Adobe Acrobat Pro.pdf"
    What I would like is some javascript code that I can take the data from the field called "IBinstance" and use it as the name of the file being sent in. Is there a simple code that i can put in this event to allow me to do this?
    Thank you

    Hi Joerg,
    I have been trying to solve this as well, but gave up. I also could not get the workaround you found to work with EFM files.
    If you do find a solution, please update your message to share?

  • I'm creating a public website and i have a javascript code that works on all browser except firefox. What should i do?

    Hi,
    I'm creating a public website that has a simple javascript button that will just set an asp.net dropdown value. It works on all browser except firefox...
    website: http://healthcareaustralia-web.sharepoint.com/Doctors/DailyShifts1.aspx
    So when you click on reset button it doesn't set the dropdowns to ALL
    this is the code:
    function resetFilters()
    var dropdown = document.getElementById('ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_DropDownList1');
    var ans = "All";
    dropdown.value = ans.value;
    document.location.href = "/Doctors/DailyShifts1.aspx";
    }

    hello, when i test it with current firefox versions, all works as expected: i choose custom dropdown values & select "filter", when i click "reset" next all dropdowns default back to "all" and the list gets refreshed.
    maybe try to [[Clear the cache - Delete temporary Internet files to fix common website issues|clear the cache]] & and reload the page or for other common troubleshooting steps refer to [[Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should]].

  • Need help with adjusting Javascript code to work in Adobe Edge (Countdown)

    Hello
    Im a newbie when it comes to working with Javascript and Adobe Edge and need a bit of help with adjusting some javascript code to work with Adobe Edge. A friend of mine helped me with making this javascript code: Edit fiddle - JSFiddle
    Its a simple countdown which counts down to a certain time at a certain date. What I aim to do is to add this code as a trigger on a text-element called "countdown" (within a symbol called "count").
    I have tried to do this as the code is, but it does not work. Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Mvh,

    Hello again
    I have stumbled upon a problem with these animations; They crash the browser after viewing them a little while, usually less than 30 seconds in.
    Is this problem also occuring when you watch the animations?
    Is the countdown-code to much for the browsers to handle?
    Thanks in advance for your answers.
    Sincerely,

  • How to apply a simple javascript into JSF

    Hi everyone. This is my first time using JSF and i am abit confuse in applying some simple javascript into my JSF. Actually, i just want to add a simple function that is to disable user from input some certain textfield (h:inputText) based on the selection in the combo box (h:selectOneMenu).
    The javascipt that i would like to apply in the JSF coding is shown as below:-
    <HTML>
    <TITLE>Example of onChange Event Handler</TITLE>
    <HEAD>
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    function textField()
    if(document.myform.mcDonald.value=="disable")
    document.myform.data.disabled=true;
    if(document.myform.mcDonald.value=="enable")
    document.myform.data.disabled=false;
    </SCRIPT>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <H3>Example of onChange Event Handler</H3>
    <form name="myform">
    <SELECT NAME="mcDonald" onChange="textField()">
    <OPTION VALUE="enable">Enable
    <OPTION VALUE="disable">Disable
    </SELECT>
    <input type="text" name="data" value="10" size=10 disabled="true" >
    </form>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    You need to use the id's of the components in the hierarchy. This is actual working code:
    // Javascript
              function actionedStatus_onchange(formObj, fieldValue) {
                   formObj.elements['foureye:tabExceptions:unresolvedOnly'].disabled = (fieldValue != 'all');
                   formObj.elements['foureye:tabExceptions:unresolvedOnly'].checked = (fieldValue == 'all');
    // JSF
                   <x:selectOneMenu id="actionedStatus" styleClass="detailBondField" value="#{exceptionsBean.actionedStatus}"
                             onchange="actionedStatus_onchange(this.form, this.value)">
                        <f:selectItems value="#{lookupBean.actionedStatusList}"/>
                   </x:selectOneMenu>
    In this case, the root component form is 'foureye' (a subview), followed by 'tabExceptions' (a form), followed by a checkbox 'unresolvedOnly' that I want to manipulate. Here I am disabling the checkbox and setting the value dependent on the value of the selectOneMenu

    Hi all!
    I'm trying to debug a javascript code in JDeveloper 11. I created a simple html page with a simple javascrit. The page and the call to javascript are ok. When I start the debug I receive some messages,please see below. Hi Roger,
    It was a bug that got fixed recently. Please download the latest version and try. If you are still able to reproduce please let me know the build (Help -->> About).
    Another workaround
    unselect "Stop on Exception" it can be found from.
    Project Properties >> Run/Debug/Profile >> Select JavaScript run configurations >> Edit >> select JavaScript >> unselect "Stop on Exception"

  • Simple javascript not working

    Hello,
    I have got a problem with this simple javascript that works
    on every browser I tested but not on AIR (1.5.0 on Aptana Studio) :
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Test</title>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function init()
    display();
    var nb=10;
    function del()
    nb--;
    display();
    function display()
    var i;
    var res = "";
    for (i=0; i<nb; i++)
    res += "<li><a onclick=\"del();\">link"+ i
    +"</a></li>";
    document.getElementById("results").innerHTML = "<ul>"+

    </head>
    <body onload="init()">
    <p onclick="del()">test</p>
    <div id="results"></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Clicking on any link in the list should reload this list with
    one item less, but it only works once, I do not understand why
    considering this code perfectly works on any browser.
    Clicking on the "test" text in the <p> also works
    perfectly and I have got no error message in the console, so what

  • Can we call webserrvice from javascript code?

    Hi Gurus,
    Can we call webservice in "Javascript" code?
    Any pointers, samples?
    Appreciate your time.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Yes you can, and we have in OracleAS 10gR3 create javascript for you.
    Take a look to the following:
    1- deploy a Web Services in OracleAS 10g R3 (10.1.3)
    2- go to the test page
    3- Click on the Javascript Stub page
    This utility creates a javascript linbray allowing Ajax calls to SOAP based Web Services:
    - create SOAP request from simple Javascript objects
    - create an XMLHttpRequest object to call synchronously or asynchronously
    - get back the response from and deserialize the SOAP object to Javascript

  • JSP response into a Javascript code

    Suppose I have a form that I submit, and its action is set to a JSP page that returns a series of elements <option>, for example:
        <option>2005</option>
        <option>2006</option>
    Is it possible to GET that JSP response, inside the JavaScript code?
    Or should I better state, inside the JSP code, to return ONLY the numbers and then I get it on the JavaScript and use the .add() funtion to add the item to a <select> ?
    How do I save that response inside the JavaScript?
    For example, I am trying with this Javascript function that handles the changes on a drop-down list:
      function clickedOnPType(lista)
      document.form1.action = "searchAvailableYears.jsp?pType=" + txtPType;}
      document.form1.submit();
    }...And I am getting, in return, a series of <option> with the correct data...
    Thanking you in advance,
    MMS

    Oh hello... in one of my 1000 searches I found that
    post days ago and I was already trying with your
    code, but I was getting several errors like
    "undefined is null or not an object" (in IE),
    "xmlhttp.responseXML has no properties" (in
    Firefox).... Well one thing i wanted to discuss here is is wat properties does in general a XmlHttpRequest Object contains
    checkout the below interface which gives a clear understanding of the Object member properties.
    interface XMLHttpRequest {
      attribute EventListener   onreadystatechange;
      readonly attribute unsigned short  readyState;
      void  open(in DOMString method, in DOMString url);
      void  open(in DOMString method, in DOMString url, in boolean async);
      void  open(in DOMString method, in DOMString url, in boolean async, in DOMString user);
      void  open(in DOMString method, in DOMString url, in boolean async, in DOMString user, in DOMString password);
      void  setRequestHeader(in DOMString header, in DOMString value);
      void  send();
      void  send(in DOMString data);
      void  send(in Document data);
      void  abort();
      DOMString  getAllResponseHeaders();
      DOMString  getResponseHeader(in DOMString header);
      readonly attribute DOMString  responseText;
      readonly attribute Document   responseXML;
      readonly attribute unsigned short  status;
      readonly attribute DOMString  statusText;
    };therefore as you can see XmlHttpRequest.reponseXML returns a Document Object which has below set of properties.
    http://www.w3schools.com/dom/dom_document.asp
    http://www.javascriptkit.com/domref/documentproperties.shtml
    and as said earlier one can send AJAX response in three ways
    1).Plain text(with comma seperated values maybe): Which we can collect using XmlHttpRequest.responseText 2).XML: @ client side XmlHttpRequest.reponseXML create a DOM Object using which one can parse it get values
    of attributes and values of different tags and then update the view accordingly.
    3).JSON(Javascript Object Notation): It is a bit complicated thing to discuss at this moment
    however it uses the first property(Plain text) and then
    uses set of libraries to parse and update the view.
    checkout below links to understand it

    here is the variable "xmlhttp" a global one.
    if no declare xmlhttp variable as a global variable.
    <script language="javascript">
    var xmlhttp;
    function handleOnChange(ddl){
    function verifyReadyState(obj){
    function handleHttpResponse() {
    </script>
    > function verifyReadyState(obj)
    if(obj.readyState == 4){
    if(obj.status == 200){
    if(obj.responseXML != null)
    return true;
    else
    return false;
    else{
    return false;
    } else return false;
    }I believe,this is preety much it.
    > function handleHttpResponse() [/b]
    if(verifyReadyState(xmlhttp) == true)
    //-----------HERE!! ---- I GET "UNDEFINED" IN THE
    DIALOG BOX
    //------- BELOW THE CODE LINE....---
    var response = xmlhttp.responseXML.responseText;
    alert(response);
    it is obvious that you would get Undefined here as responseText is not a property of Document Object or to be more specific to the Object what xmlhttp.responseXML returns.
    you might have to use that as alert(xmlhttp.responseText);
    and coming back to parsing the XML reponse you have got from the server we need to use
    var response = xmlhttp.responseXML.documentElement; property for it...
    and if you put as a alert message it has to give you an Output like"Object"
    alert(response);
    if that doesn't the browser version which you are using may not support XML properly.
    var response = xmlhttp.responseXML.documentElement;
    removeItems(laProxLista);
    var x = response.getElementsByTagName("option")
      var val
      var tex
      var newOption
                  for(var i = 0;i < x.length; i++){
                     newOption = document.createElement("OPTION")
                     var er
                     // Checking for the tag which holds the value of the Drop-Down combo element
                     val = x.getElementsByTagName("value")
    try{
    // Assigning the value to a Drop-Down Set Element
    newOption.value = val[0].firstChild.data
    } catch(er){
    // Checking for the tag which holds the Text of the Drop-Down combo element
    tex = x[i].getElementsByTagName("text")
    try{
    // Assigning the Text to a Drop-Down Set Element
    newOption.text = tex[0].firstChild.data
    } catch(er){
    // Adding the Set Element to the Drop-Down
    laProxList.add(newOption);
    here i'm assuming that i'm sending a xml reponse of format something below.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <drop-down>
       <option>
            <value>1</value>
            <text>label1</text>
       </option>
       <option>
            <value>2</value>
            <text>label2</text>
       </option>
       <option>
            <value>3</value>
            <text>label3</text>
       </option>
    </drop-down>and i'm trying to update both option's value and label which would be something like
    <select >
    <option value="1">label1</option>
    <option value="2">label2</option>
    <option value="3">label3</option>
    <option value="4">label4</option>
    </select>else where if you are interested in getting a format like the one below
    <select >
    <option>label1</option>
    <option>label2</option>
    <option>label3</option>
    <option>label4</option>
    </select> try the below snippet
    var response = xmlhttp.responseXML.getElementsByTagName("text");
    var length = response.length;
    var newOption
    for(var i =0 ; i < length;i++){
       newOption = this.document.createElement("OPTION");
       newOption.text = response.childNodes[0].nodeValue;
    // or newOption.text = response[i].firstChild.data
    laProxList.add(newOption);
    Another thing...
    I have tried to set the content type inside the JSP
    to
    response.setContentType("text/html");
    AND to
    response.setContentType("text/xml");
    but none of the above is getting me results......use of response.setContentType("text/xml"); is more appropriate here.. as you are outputting XML or a plain text here...
    make sure you set the reponse headers in the below fashoin while outputting the results....
    response.setContentType("text/xml");
    response.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache");
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
    response.setDateHeader("Expires", 1);
    response.setDateHeader("max-age", 0); and if you are serious about implementing AJAX i would advice you start learn basics of XmlHttpRequest Object and more about DOM parsing is being implemented using javascript.
    http://www.w3.org/TR/XMLHttpRequest/#xmlhttprequest0
    http://www.jibbering.com/2002/4/httprequest.html

    http://developer.apple.com/internet/webcontent/xmlhttpreq.html
    http://www.javascriptkit.com/domref/documentproperties.shtml
    and then go about trying different means of achieving them using simpler and cool frameworks
    like DWR,dojo,Prototype,GWT,Jmaki,Back Base 4 Struts,Back Base 4 JSF....etc and
    others frameworks like Tomahawk,Ajax4Jsf,ADF Faces,ICE FACES and many others which work with JSF.
    Please Refer

    Hope that might help :)
    and finally an advice before implementing anything specfic API which may be related to any technologies (JAVA,javascript,VB,C++...) always refer to API documentation first which always gives you an Idea of implementing it.

  • After updating my app, my javascript code doesn't seem to be changed

    Hello, for the past days, I have been unable to track my app's new version in sharepoint 2013.
    It's a simple "Provide feedback" application using SP from javascript.
    It turns out, that I fixed a bug, related to a jquery selector in the app. Then, a new version of the app (with a different version number) has been uploaded to the sharepoint server. Whenever I check my app in my site's settings, it says that the version
    was updated, however, when I open the page where my app is placed, and inspect the javascript code ( via browser's debugger) the code of the old version id shown.
    I have already cleared my browser's cache as well, still can't see the new code in there
    The code looks like it's working, ie, the app is working how it is supposed to now. However, this gives the feeling of no control on the code of my app.
    Can anybody provide any solution / ideas on how to solve this? Has been driving me crazy.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    As you said, after the cache of the browser cleared, the old version code still display in the debugger.
    It would not be an expected behavior as the browser still gives the old version code even the code works in a new way.
    What if you inspect the code in other machine?
    If the outcome is the same, it is recommended to create another app and do the test again in case it is an issue of app development.
    Feel free to reply with the test result if there are any progress.
    Thanks

  • How to use an if statement in javascript code

    Hello,
    I have a batch processing script to search for text "employee signature" on each page in a multiple page file and to then list in the console any pages that do not have the "Employee Signature" text included.
    The script is not yet functional as an if statement needs to be included.
    Can anyone please advise how to use an if statement in javascript code?
    var numpages = this.numPages;
    for (var i=0; i < numpages; i++)
    search.query("Employee Signature", "ActiveDoc");
    console.println('Pages that do not include an employee signature: ' + this.pageNum +' ');
    Any assistance will be most appreciated.

    Thank you very much for your assistance try.
    I have modified the code as suggested and the page numbers are now listing correctly, thank you, but....................,
    The console  lists every page as having an "employee signature" when there are pages in the document that do not have an employee signature.
    The code (revised as follows) is not processing the "getPageNthWord part of the statement" in the console report?
    Can you please advise where the code needs reworking?
    var ckWords; // word pair to test
    var bFound = false; // logical status of found words
    // loop through pages
    for (var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i++ ) {
       bFound = false; // set found flag to false
       numWords = this.getPageNumWords(i); // number of words on page
       // loop through the words on page
       for (var j = 0; j < numWords; j++) {
          // get word pair to test
          ckWords = this.getPageNthWord(i, j) + ' ' + this.getPageNthWord(i, j + 1); // test words
          // check to see if word pair is 'Employee' string is present
          if ( ckWord == "Employee") {
             bFound = true; // indicate found logical value
             console.println('Pages that includes an employee signature: ' + (i + 1) +' ');
             break; // no need to further test for this page
          } // end Employee Signature
       } // end word loop
       // test to see if words not found
       if(bFound == false) {
             console.println('Pages that do include an employee signature: ' + (i + 1) +' ');
        } // end not found on page
    } // end page loop
    Thank you

    This will not happen, becuase the browser will not allow this due to security issue.
