Thanks for the help for the interview questions. Now my second step is that I want to start practice writing pl/sql code. Any one can suggest on some small projects or something on those lines.

Project to work on

Good Evening!
I'm currently studying Java at university. It's my first year and I'd like to gain as much experience as i possibly can. I've studied through the book Java Software Solutions Foundations of Program Design by Lewis and Loftus.
Problem is I don't really know where to go from here since we are not going to study any more JAVA till next year. Tried looking on the net for some projects to work on but they are either too simple or too complicated. Does anyone have any ideas where i should from here?

Congratulations on wanting to work on your own.
It's impossible for us to suggest anything because
you don't know what you know or how much you know.
That being said, two approaches would be to solidify
what you already know by doing a project in such an area
or to learn a new bit of Java and do a project using that.
In any case, I suggest thinking of a small project. You
can always add features. These sorts of things have a way
of getting out of hand, so start modest

Hi, yes, that does help, thank you for your reply. Signal express does make it easy to work with multiple devices, as I am, though something seems to be amiss with the timing between cards. For example, setting Signal Express to do nothing more than log data at 100 pts/sec on all channels on all three cards (PCI-6289), and using the software trigger in Signal Express to start the digitization process, and the stop button, to stop data logging, certainly seems to be a very convenient solution. However, the longer I record (an hour seems to be enough time), the more likely that a signal recorded on all three cards, will not synch, point to point, (comparing signals recorded on channel 0 on all three cards, which I believe should be captured simultaneously through out the recording process, for example) and data recording does not stop simultaneously on all three cards. I can handle the data logging not stopping simultaneously, but my source signal apparently not being recorded synchronously is a whole other problem, and the impetus for my question. Thanks for the tip about NI-SCOPE, I was going to start working with that on a different project.
I am using the most recent versions of SignalExpress, NIDAQmx drivers, etc., on a PC running 64-bit windows 7.

Installer for simple project

I am having a huge problem building an installer. To demonstrate I have created a very simple project (see attached zip file).
It consists of a VI that does very little
a text file named text.txt which the VI reads and displays
a folder named tree db with three subfolders. Each of the subfolders has a text file named leaf
My goal is to build the project, build an installer and run the installer on a target machine. The result should be that the target machine will have the exe, the text file and the folder tree (as well as the LV runtime, of course).
I have managed to do this in the past but for some reason I am really floundering. First, if I put the folder in the build I get a name conflict even though I have checked "preserve disk heirarchy and then in the install spec I don't see how to include the tree db folder and the text file.
I have tried everything I can think of without success. Can anyone help?

I'm sorry but I am not in a place where I can look at your code right now. To see a configuration that works, check out the post from my blog that you will find here. At the bottom of the post is the archived project in my SVN repository. In this project I am including a database file, but the process is the same for any non-LV file.
I first include the non-LV file. I then created a destination for it (in this case called _repos) and then in the source file setting told the builder to put the file in _repos. At this point the preview will show it in the right place.

Can't make simple 'IF' statement work in MS Query!?

I have read the existing threads on the subject but can't seem to make a simple 'IF' statement work in MS Query with a single table. I always get the following error:
Returns error message:
"Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'if'
Incorrect syntax near ','.
Statement(s) could not be prepared.
Here's my query (simplified, but not much):
select *
from table t
where t.modifieddate > if(t.active=0, date1, date2)
Just to see if I could get AN if statement to work, I've also tried:
SELECT t.active, if(t.active=0,2,3)
FROM CdmsTimeSheet.dbo.Registrations t
And
SELECT t.active, if(t.active='0','2','3')
FROM CdmsTimeSheet.dbo.Registrations t

I've been using excel/ms query for many years but not in the last year or two and am wondering if this was somehow removed? I tried using decode but then get a "not built-in function" error.

Not sure what kind of database you are using. In SQL Server, you should use 'Case when' Statement Or 'IIF' function instead of if.
e.g.
select
top (10) BusinessEntityID,iif( BusinessEntityID=1 , 'true' , 'false') as test
from HumanResources.Employee
order by BusinessEntityID

xml is used to move your project from one application to another.. like from FCPX to DaVinci Resolve or After Effects or Premiere... but at the moment it has a bug, it links the original media and not the optimized media (the prores 422, just in case you use them...)

A simple project

Hi All,
I need to do a simple project like
1.Using DBMS_JOB package read some data from the table and output the result into a flat file at definite intervals.
2.Now submit another dbms_job to read that flat file and store the contents into another table.
now the thing should be like every 1/2 hour the job should append the data into the flat file and every 1 hour the flat file should be read through another dbms_job to store the contents of the file into another table.
Please help me on this

i need some guidelines to where can i find the docs on DBMS_JOBThe documentation for DBMS_JOB is where you might expect to find it, that is in the Supplied PL/SQL packages manual. You might also want to read the relevant chapter in the Administrator's guide.

Hp Simple Pass Not working with Bank Accounts?

Hi,
I bought the HP Envy Touvhsmart j-158ca, but i am having lots of trouble using this for loging into my bank accounts ( TD Canada Trust, Scotia Bank, Bank of Montreal..., any bank...). I cannot login to these banks at all. I contacte the Hp department, they asked me to perform a driver update, BIOS update, REcovery, Unistall/Reinstall Simple Pass,....... Has HP downgraded its new fingerprint reader from Digital Persona? The old Digital Persona used to login to any of these bank accounts flawlesssly, but now, its impossible with the new Simple Pass.
Can someone confirm if HP has really downgraded its finger print reader.
I want to return this laptop now, because this simple pass doesnt work anymore! for banks!.

Simple javascript not working

Clicking on any link in the list should reload this list with

Cp6 project not working on tablets

Hello. I have a Cp6 project that I published as swf and html5 (combo) which runs perfectly on a PC with Windows 7 using either IE9 or Google Chrome. This project is also SCORM 1.2 enabled and works fine on the LMS - either SCORM Cloud or the client's LMS.
The strange thing is when I tested launching on an Android Samsung S Note, it acts like it’s going to launch but never really does. And, it actually did launch and play great the first time I tested it a couple weeks ago on my PC.
I had someone else test the same file on a Nexus 7 tab via SCORM Cloud and all he saw were black screens so it didn't work there either.
One of my counterparts launched it from his Apple products and here are the results. (I published the same project as HTML5 only and asked him to test both.)
PowerBook (Apple)
On the HTML5 alone course I just had a gray screen.
On the full SWF/HTML5 course everything worked as expected, including the video slides and the PDF text versions. There was a visual 'glitch' every time there was a transition from a static slide to video and from a video clip to a static slide.
iPad Gen 2: Neither course worked, all I would get is a gray screen on both of them that didn't lead to anywhere.
iPad Gen 1: Same thing, gray screens on both of them.
Here are the browsers that were tested in the Apple products:
Firefox v. 26.0ts
Safari 6.1.1
Chrome 32.0.1700.77
IE 10.0.9200.16384 (running with Windows 8 through Parallels)
So it seems to be the tables are having issues. Any ideas? Is there anything else I need to do to enable this project to work on tablets - Android or iOS?

HTML5 should run, but how is an iOS device going to play a SWF? The OP said he published as swf and html5 (combo).
When publishing to SWF and HTML5 there are 3 html files created:
index.html (HTML5 document)
multiscreen.html (Not an HTML5 doctype and uses frameset which is not declared in doctype)
"project name".htm (Not an HTML5 document loading a SWF)
You should be using the multiscreen.html file to determine which content to deliver, and start your troubleshooting from there. You will need to determine which actual file is being used when the different users experience issues.

CS3 - Simple Project - DVD-R Plays in Sony, NOT Panasonic!!

Hi all - I am following this thread with some interest. I am having the exact same issues with Encore CS3. VERY simple project, it all checks out fine, previews perfectly.
My questions are:
I have an interesting issue on my first use in anger of CS3.
Does CS3 burn an "appendable" disk? I think it does! If so, will that affect DVD player compatibility?
I have tried direct burning to DVD-R (Verbatim), and it plays fine on my SONY DVD player, but comes up as "Unsupported" on my Panasonic standalone DVD/HDD recorder drive. Is this a DVD player firmware issue?
If so - I guess I need to find out how to close the disk through Adobe CS3. (Note I have tried closing these DVD-R's through another application such as Roxio 10, but it craps out stating it thinks there is like 400GB free on the disk!!)
Other things I have tried include building an ISO file AND a DVD folder, neither of which will burn using Cyberlink DVD Suite. THey are not recognised! Arrgh. Any ideas?
Anything else I can try would be MOST useful!!

Well I now have a few more tidbits to add... I have burnt the same avi file using Roxio 10 & it's DVD creator application, using menus etc. Success! So it's not the BD-R disc format, as I'm using the same brand etc throughout all this.
The only other problem I'm having is the audio which seems to drift around 0.2 and 0.7 (or so) seconds across the picture! (the original avi file is bang on). Is there any generic method to investigate the cause of such an issue now?
