Simple web banner with links

I give. I've tried and tried to google, check forums, etc. and cannot find the exact answer to what I believe should be simple (if you know what you are doing).
I need a simple rotating web banner with three photos. Each photo represents a different event and needs a different link to a different brochure.
I have Dreamweaver CS3, Photoshop CS and Imageready CS.
Please help if you have a moment to spare. I would greatly appreciate it!

Web Banner with Video: How to start a flash animation ONLY after .flv is finished loading.

Hi,
I am making a 10 sec. web banner and am required to use a video that is on an external server. I had no problem getting the video file converted, uploaded to the external server and it is now playing back perfectly after exporting the .swf file.
The problem I am having is that my animations (mostly text items, which are placed very carefully throughout the .flv movie) aren't matching up with the movie's movements (due to the .flv starting later due to streaming – I am assuming).
How would I go about syncing these two things, so that the animations always line up exactly with the video's movements? Something like a preloader would be totally fine. I've also read about 'Cue Points' but they seem to be a little unnecessary for what should be a simple 10 sec. banner.
Also the .flv itself is exactly 10 sec. long, but the banner is 13 sec. long so that the last screen (with the most important information) is shown statically for 3 sec. Should I be doing anything to compensate for this other than simply adding the 3 sec. in the timeline in flash, and letting the .flv restart when the entire .swf starts looping?

I have a user who is asking if a WebI report with drill down links can be saved to his desktop as a pdf and still have the links work. Has anyone had the same request?

it´s ocurrs because the drill down that you have in the query, try with another query and export this to a PDF and if you can access ... is that is not possible to use the link for a drill down in a PDF.

hi 2 all, iam very new to this SAP WAS arena, i have installed SAP WAS 6.40 successfully and also developed a hello world webservice, which is running fine, now i want to develop a simple web service that connects to SAPDB, with only one table(jus 2 fields, empno, empname). I have tried to get help from Car Rental Application but it seems to be complicated for me. Can any one of you help me with some other tutorials, or tell me how to start and connect to db. Thanx in advance.

the purpose of NetWeaver is three tier applications. Therefore there are no tools that would allow you to make direct webservice to database calls. The only way would be to program that kind of call manually. But this takes a lot of effort. The usual way would be (and I assume you want to use java):
WebService -> session bean -> entity bean -> database

Web gallery with links to hires images - possible?

Hi all,
I would like to use a web gallery to "deliver" hires images to clients, meaning that I want to have a preview page with thumnail images that should link to hires jpeg or even tif images for download. I found, however, that Aperture web galleries seem to be limited to maximum 1200x1200 jpegs for the detail page.
I know that there are ways to customize web galleries so I thought there might be a solution for this anyway? Like putting in a link to the hires image in the detail page?

I made a good step forward regarding this type of customized template: I found that the image size restrictions can be changed in the "albuminfo.plist" file, and I can also edit the link on the gallery page that points to the detail page.
But: Both gallery page and detail page use the same tag to refer to the image they are displaying: "ThumbImageURL" which seems to be interpreted differently in different contexts: In the gallery page it refers to the thumbnail (as expected) and in the detail page it refers to the larger image. This seems to indicate that there might be something like LargeImageURL"...
Is there any kind of documentation to the tags used for web galleries in Aperture?

SCCM Web page with link to update AV

We are using an f5 gateway to manage who can and can not access services inside our network. The solution
is APM. One of the checks is that the device AV is up to date. If the device AV files are out of date and the device is a corporate device we plan to allow users to access a secure portal to click on a link to update the definition files. Can we publish a
portal for users to carry out this function using our current SCCM (SCEP) solution. The portal/web page must be hosted in the DMZ with connections back to the SCCM server infrastructure.

Well, as the name implies, Internet Based Client Management (IBCM) allows clients to be managed while not connected to local intranet.
There is no web portal functionality though so I'm not sure what you're expecting there. The best that could potentially be had is to launch Software Center on a target system where the user could initiate the definition update manually. However, if the
system has the ability to connect to the site (via IBCM), this will already have been done for them automatically so there's no need for anything like this. This is a chicken and egg type scenario.
There are possible alternatives like initiating the update from a UNC (or possible web location) using a batch file but there certainly is nothing built in as discussed in your other thread:

Web Page with link to Multiple Queries

Hi All,
I have a webpage in EP iView which has ahref links to multiple queries in a table. When user clicks on a link the corresponsding query should open. I can do this giving HREF links to text for Query URL. In Development System If I do the URL is generated from WAS of Development system. So When I transport to EP production and When I click in the link it is opening the query in development system. So I need to change the URL to link to PRoduction query before transport.
Is there any way of doing this by providing a technical name of the query.

the URL generated for each system for each query is specific...
transporting the same URL to different system will not solve ur issue.
for e.g. open a query x in Dev. system
execute it in Web
it will generate a URL , this url is sppecfic to query x for Dev. system
even if u transport the url link to Prod system it will always open the query in Dev.......
try to open the query in Prod thru query designer
execute it in web
copy the url and paste it in ur code in PRod system
nwo use the link
it will execute ur query in prod....

How do you create a realy good web banner with changing pictures? I'm struggling to resolve this as I'm only a car detailer struggling with all this designing stuff.

I am using a CSS template from xsite p@ro and I can access my html script easily enough to make any edits: http://www.briansautodetailing.com.au/ I need to know what software I should purchase to create a changing header image. I would like to have larger pictures and have them change..Just a bit nicer to look at I guess.

How to create web services with complex objects as parameters

Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place, but...
I'm using Netbeans 5.5 and trying to learn web services.
Creating a simple web service with simple parameters like strings and integers is nice and easy. I'm now trying to take the next step, and create a web service with a more complex schema as a parameter.
I've tried two approaches, and hit dead ends on both:
(1) Define my complex schema as an xsd file, and then create a WSDL file. Creating the schema and saving it in my EFB project works fine; when I try to create a new WSDL file, the IDE gives me a button to import external schemas - which is where the problem is: the Browse simply won't find my newly created schema file.
(2) Define a Java class (in this case, it's a fairly simple example containing a single ArrayList), and then use the IDE to generate a web service from Java. The IDE does this fine, but I now have no idea how to consume or test the web service - I don't know where to look for the WSDL that has presumably been generated, and I'm also a bit iffy over what answers to give the WSDL creator about port names etc.
Ideally, I'd prefer to get approach 1 to work - can someone point me in the direction of a sensible tutorial for these things?
(Happy to carry on using Netbeans 5.5 or to revert to Sun Studio Enterprise, which I was playing with before.)

Call ABAP Web Service with Java code only

First of all, I am writing script in Adobe form but am not using the one in SAP.
I am trying to call the web service and process the result with script open (i.e. no dataconnection created), because I am trying to do that in a dialog.
I can call a non-SAP web service without problem, but I am not able to call a simple web service with only a single string input, anyone have any example?

Banner with a clickable link, what am I doing wrong???

I am trying to make a web banner out of an image I have with a link added so when you click the banner it takes you to the website. It looks fine on my computer but when I saved and email it the image is gone but the link still works. What am I doing wrong?

HTML emails require you to save the images on a server then link to those images with absolute links in the email.
The recipient's email client also needs to be set up to view images (many aren't).

New Aperture Web Themes with 'Parent INDEX' link

Hi all,
I've hacked up the Stock themes to create a Stock Grey and also add a link back to the parent directory of a web gallery in order to make it easier to put together a full site with Aperture. No, it doesn't help create the initial top level index of all sub-galleries, but it does make it easier for viewers to navigate back out of one album and into another.
I've made an installer for it that searches for Aperture.app no matter where it was installed, so it can take a minute or so to complete, but I've put it up on my site:

The top level page was done by hand, everything else simply came out of Aperture and was dropped directly onto the web space with no other changes.

Your comment about searching for Aperture.app reminded me that I'd been meaning to look into the proper way to do this.
There doesn't seem to be a convenient command-line tool to do it (you can use lsregister and dump the LaunchServices database, but that's ugly).
But here's a Perl one-liner, that would be callable from a preflight script:

Simple Web App NOT working with JBoss on IDEA IntelliJ

I am using TOMCAT_4.0.3 (bundled with JBOSS_3.0.0) and using IntelliJ-IDEA as my IDE environment.
On one of my machine I created a WEB-APP kithany.war. It was working fine on this machine.
Later when I copied this kithany.war to other machine and put under server/default/deploy directory and then ran Jboss on which I get following error - wonder why?

Web Banner Image Fade

I'm an experienced Java Architect with no experience of JavaFX. I'm trying to develop a proof of concept Flash-style web banner to see if it is feasible to replace existing Flash elements on my client's site with JavaFX elements, thus removing the need for a costly proprietary RIA toolkit.
Now the banner in question takes a physical URL from an XML document, loads a set number (also configured in a simple XML document) of images horizontally across the banner. It fades each image out independently and once invisible, it replaces that image with another random image from the URL and fades back in (ensuring it doesn't already exist in the other visible images). Whilst doing this, a quote is displayed across the images in a colour set by the XML file, and this quote fades in and out as well, changing to another quote from a set list, and fading back in once the new quote is found.
Now I'm sure I can figure out some of the more typical functionality that I come across with Java, C++, etc. on a daily basis, such as interacting with an XML document, and loading images from URLs (perhaps), but the actual timing, fading, working loading new images and quotes at the right time, etc. is all new as I tend to develop business systems and not applications with visual effects. So help is needed on how to best go about doing this. I've begun with a very basic attempt at a Stage and tips on going forward would be appreciated.
Also, as a side note, in JavaFX how would I extend the Stage and Scenes, and any other object, essentially, and then load them as variables...? remember I'm an OO-oriented Java and C++ programmer, so I understand inheritance, but cannot seem to find the right syntax in JavaFX after an hour working on this basic Flash-eliminating challenge.

If the banner image is not displaying, it is either not in an acceptable web file format (optimized for web as jpg, gif or png). Or it is corrupted. Or the path to the image file on server is broken.

How do I slice an image for a web banner and upload it to my website?

Hi there! I am trying to slice an image into a web banner to upload it as the headed to my website layout. I have previously done this before, but a few months ago my computer crashed and I lost everything. I have a new computer now (Macbook Pro running 10.9.3) and downloaded a free trial of CS6. I vaguely remember what I am doing but am apparently way out of practice.
I have tried at least a dozen different times to slice the banner and add the links, but for one, it keeps showing up with gaps in the image when I try and preview it on my computer. I cannot figure out why. Secondly, when I try to save it for the web as HTML and images, it is not working. It keeps saying something about needing to replace targets, etc. I am honestly lost and when I had originally made my website two years ago I don't remember it being nearly this difficult. I have some moderate HTML/CSS web design skills but I'm not sure if I am having a brainfart or what.
Secondly, I cannot get the files to upload properly to my web server. I use FatCow as my host if this makes any difference. I've been watching tutorials on Youtube and trying to refresh my memory but I am so lost.

Can you save images via Tools > Page Info > Media ?
The usual way to save an image is via the right-click context menu > Save Image as.<br />
