SIMS 2 COLLECTION - BROKEN FILE

Yesterday I purchased "The Sims 2: Super Collection" for $30. I did read the comments and a lot of them said that they could not get the game to work. I decided to buy it though - and when it was finished downloading and I could play - I got the message that the file was broken and that I had to delete it and download it again. It didn´t work this time around either and I´m getting really ****** now. Is there anyway someone can get it to work or I can get a refund? I use the Macbook Pro late 2011 model and it is working just fine and I have enough space.

Collections Missing Files - Is there a way to fix them all at once?

Hello,
Due to new computer, all files has been moved to a new location.
Obviously, the collections I have can't find them now and reporting "Missing Files".
Now, I need to fix them by finding them folder by folder, and since the collections contains items from many folders, It will take hours to fix them all so I wondered if there is a way to tell Bridge about the new location of the files all at once.
I hope I managed to explain what I'm looking for.

Which OS? If on Windows you can find your Bridge collections list at (win 7 bridge cs6 example):
C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Collections
The files in Collections folder are .filelist - text xml format. You could copy filelists from the old system's Collections folder to the Bridge AppData Collections folder in your new system so long as all the referenced files listed in the collection filelists are in the same disks and folders on your new system.

How can I play The Sims Complete Collection without PowerPC applications being supported?

So I downloaded Mavericks a while ago after my friend told me it was a really good idea. I hated almost everything about it to start with and since then I've found I don't hate everything but still a lot of things. I was on Snow Leopard before and, even though it was old, it was lovely; I knew where I was with it and everything worked.
Today I went to play The Sims Complete Collection for the first time since downloading Mavericks a few months ago and it told me 'You can't open the application "The Sims Complete because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." I am SO ANGRY. I would quite happily buy the game again but they don't make them anymore so they'd all have the same system requirements. What's most frustrating is that I sold all my original edition Sims games that I'd been collecting for years to buy Complete Collection for Mac so I could still play the game I've played since the week it was released. Basically I need someone to tell me how to do one of these things;
1- Downgrade to Snow Leopard again. Bit extreme but I like the Sims a lot. I have the original discs that came with my macbook if that helps at all.
2- Don't think it can be done but is there a way I could have my Sims Complete Collection on my EA origins app? Like all my Sims 3 are.
3- Make PowerPC Applications playable
4- Basically anything that makes my game playable!

The short answer is that you will not be able to run Sims on your Mac unless a OSX Lion update is released.
Have a look at this thread on the Sims forum about a patch for Lion.
The long answer is that you can try to install Fusion and Snow Leopard Server, but at a cost.
Fusion is not free. Snow Leopard Server is several hundred dollars.
It will be less expensive to buy an old Mac just for your games.

How to use Windows SIM to create answer files for 32-bit (x86) Windows 7 from a 64-bit (x86_64) Windows 7 PC?

So I'm having the old 32-bit/64-bit compatibility issues with Windows SIM. I have a Windows 7 64-bit PC (actually a virtual machine) that I intend to use to run Windows SIM and make answer files for 32-bit Windows 7 unattended installations.
I've installed the latest Windows ADK (the Win 8.1 one). When doing this there was no choice of download or prompt during installation regarding 32-bit or 64-bit architectures. Once installed the Windows Kits folder is under Program Files (x86), but imgmgr.exe
is a 64-bit executable. When I try and generate the catalog for a 32 bit install.wim, I get an error that 64-bit SIM cannot catalog 32-bit images.
Is there any way to install a version of Windows SIM on a 64-bit Windows 7 PC that can catalog 32-bit Windows 7 images?

I wonder what does this message mean Collection Status : File handles exhausted I can't find any solution to my problem, I tried restarting agent, clearstate, upload, resynchronization... all of this did nothing.

Finding broken files

after changing computers I seem to have a bunch of broken files
I seem to bump into them when I'm syncing my 30g ipod
how can I find them?
I want to either be able to copy the contents of the list that comes up while syncing or
find all the files that are broken in my library

Well, either someone chose a different letter, or the drive letters were assigned from above by an IT department (and ordinary users are locked out of mapping new drives).
It's possible to map the same share twice, if you have the power to do so. So just remap V: to the same network share as Z: and you're good to go, for your own purposes. I'm not sure how you could set it up to cover the rest of your question (so that anyone else opening the file would not get the missing links dialog) without relinking everything yourself. I suppose it'd be scriptable.

AE CC Mac: After Effects Collect Files not collecting some files, including project!

I need to send a client some collected projects, but the File > Dependencies > Collect Files command is not collecting some of the files (after the project has been reduced, so all the files in the project are required), including the project file!
I just end up with a collected folder containing a "Footage" folder that includes some of the files and not others. This is a nightmare!! There are hundreds of files that will take days I do not have to manually track each file down.
Any suggestions?

Master Collection CS5 File Type Images Not Working.

On the adobe master collection the file types should show up with a image. (E.g for a dreamweaver php file it is a custom adobe php image) same with a png file. its the fireworks logo. How do i get this on because the images aren't showing on the file types. I have done re-installs but no fix.

looks like a problem with the windows file assosciation, what is your operating system so I could provide you a registry fix.
I also need to know if the problem is with the exe file or just the file format whenever you create a file from one of the programs.

Then you have done what you need to do. It's in the hands of iTunes Support now. They either will or they won't. The policy is that all sales are final. They usually give one refund per account. If you have already received the one refund, then I doubt that you will get another.

Packaging and Collecting Multiple files

Hi, sorry, I'm a bit technology-illiterate, and I replied to this post because it looked the most relevant to what I was hoping to accomplish.
I don't have InDesign, so I guess I'm in the wrong forum, but any help ANYONE can provide would be appreciated.
I do apologize for not posting in the right place, but frankly the help page for Adobe Reader 9 (which is what I have) had absolutely no answers to my question.
Basically, the task at hand is to create a coherent, single PDF file, if possible, from 33 images that I have. These images are copies of pages from a primary source document found via the Library of Congress. When I hit the "save image" button on the website, that is the format that they downloaded in.
My OS is Windows Vista. I know that I have, at some point in time, managed to jury-rig a PDF from multiple files before, but I can't remember how on earth I did it the first time because I came about it by accident.
I'll understand if it's impossible to make a PDF out of the files the way that they're currently formated, and I do appreciate your timely response.

Contents of Collections Disappeared (files did NOT move)

I am running CS5, and I just spent a few hours adding files to a new collection. I had to reboot my computer, and when I reopened Bridge, the collection listed (0) files. The real locations of the files are on my harddrive, and were not moved or altered in any way.
I repeated a small test: added a few files to a new collection, closed Bridge, reopened Bridge, and the files were no longer listed in the collection. None of the help literature has suggested that you need to do anything special to save a collection once files have been added to it, but it appears that my collections are not being saved automatically when Bridge closes.

That should not happen, there where some problems with files not being kept in the collections when having 'strange' characters like ' and ".
A collection is nothing but a bunch of aliases pointing to the real location and should be reappear after you restarted Bridge or rebooted your computer.
Try first a reset of the preferences, restart Bridge holding down option (Mac) or cntrl (Win) and choose reset preferences, then try again.
And remember, collections in Bridge are usable but still not 100 % reliable. If you put in a lot of work in a certain collection first thing to do is add the collection name also as a keyword to all the containing files and let it finish writing those keywords completely.
That assures you from an extra (and saver, because this data is written in the file itself) option to always being able to recreate your collection using the find command.

PSE7 saves edit as broken file

I have been using PSE7 for a few months. It went through a period where it wouldn't edit at all. Then it starting working. Now for the past week it will edit but it saves as a broken file. Can anyone help? I am running Windows XP and have not made any changes to my computer recently. I also have PSE3 and it won't edit either. I get the message "Adobe Photoshop 8 does not run under this version of the operating system. Please check the package minimum requirements for the operatins system lever necessary for this software". It had worked fine for three plus years, now this. Thank you.

There could be a lot of reasons for a broken thumbnail.
One suggestion is for you to check to make sure you are saving the file with a valid extension in the file name ... something like .jpg or .psd or .tif would be examples of valid extensions (of course, there are others). If the file name has an invalid extension, then you might get a broken thumbnail.
Another possible reason for this is that you have used two periods in the file name. Something like Boston.May2009.jpg is invalid.

Looking for the Garbage Collection log files

I have examined the std_server<x>.out files at the work folder but can't see this info.
My question is: Where would I find these files on the server?

I can't find info in the format I know it not at dev_server* or std_server*.
in std_server I see xml file like this:

Will the original Sims: Complete Collection run on my mac?

I am running 10.6.8 Snow Leopard, and I just ordered The Sims: Complete Collection for Mac, and I know it's an extremely old game so I'm just nervous it won't run. I know Lion will not play it, so I'm not going to update to it, but will Snow Leopard? Thank you
