Simulate button click

Hi,
I'm making a game that pits the user against two other
computer players (think jeopardy). I had made this game years ago
in other software, and when I first made it in flash, I made it a
"single player" version....now I want my bot players in there!
Anyhow, I already have the code in the buttons (that
represent category and question value) to do what needs to be done
and I need to write code to CALL the button's onRelease function.
Can this be done? If so, how.......I played with the CALL
command and can't get it to work.
If this can't be done, I know I can fall back on making the
code inside of the buttons, regular functions and having the
buttons' onRelease function call those, as well as my bot players'
code that I'm working on now.
But I've always wanted to be able to do this in other
applications and will in future ones, so can someone help me out
here? It IS a function (mybutton.onRelease();) so you SHOULD be
able to call it just like any other established function. right?

Yeah, I know how to write a function and also know I can then
call that function from a button click............What I'm asking
is, is there a way you can call the built in functions of a button?
ie, using your example, how can i call button1.onRelease?
this function is called when the user clicks on that
button..........but I want my CODE to call that same function.
I'm guessing the answer is no, which is stupid because these
are functions and you should be able to call them.

Trying to simulate button click via ActionScript

Hello,
I've got code written to tell if a user is hitting his/her
left or right arrow keys. I currently have a "next" button named
realNext, and a "back" button named realBack. Both buttons have
lots of code written in their on(release) functions. How can I
utilize ActionScript to simulate a button click?
Here's my code thus far:

I have never had success **** this by calling the onRelease
or onPress event functions. So to get around this I define other
functions that do all of the work and then just use the onRelease
and onPress event functions as callers.
For example.
button1.onRelease = myFunction;
function myfunction():Void {
// code goes here
Now with this I can either press the button to ge thte code
executed or I can "simulate" the button being pushed by just
calling myFunction().

Simulate Copy-From Button Click on Delivery Document

Hi Friends,
How can I 'programmatically' click on Copy From button, and then select the Sales Order?
(I could get a forum post to capture the Copy From button click in the delivery document, but I want to do clicking also programmatically)
I could click on the Copy-From button programmatically.
After that, till I manually click on "Sales Order", control is not returned to the program (It acts similar to a message box:( )
Do you know any ways to acheive it?

I came upon this thread but did not find it to be quite complete (and see that you were looking for a similar answer). I just wanted to let you know how I am using "Copy To" to copy a Sales Order into an A/R Invoice. I realize you are desiring a "Copy From" but I believe the steps will be the same (and believe others will value seeing this). I know there is discussion above that the copy to is a matrix but I found the simplest approach is to just treat it like a combobox. Here is my code in C#:

so after reading your "This is the real solution" I got it
In my opinion there are two possible solution:
1)When you hit the ok button on the valuehelp on view B two things happen:
a)You copy the selected values to the inputfield on view A
b)You raise an event on view A by clicking an invisible button on view A or using the <bsp:htmlbEvent> like Thomas suggested. However the code which clicks something on view A has to be in view B (the inputhelp). So you will have to change the inputhelp extension by adding a new attribute. I would only choose this solution when you are sure that you need this functionality also for other applications. The extension could look like this:

The inputfield will then generate a javascript statement like this: parent.refreshSite();
and puts it in the function that is called when a user clicks on the OK button.
2)You attach an onChange event listener to your inputfield on view A. When a value is entered into the field the event handling javascript function raises a server event. Brians weblog shows you how the call the event and this OnChange Event for inputField shows you how to add the onChange event to the inputfield.

URGENT-Simulate GOTO option as a button click

We would like to JUMP from first query to second query, maintained all the sender and receiver settings in the RSBBS. It is working when we select the characteristic and right click and select GOTO. But the user doesn't want to do the right click and goto.
He wanted to have that action as a button click. Please help simulating that action as a button click

To my knowledge you need a lot of javascript coding in WAD for this for calling the Reciever Report amd passing the variable parameters. because this functionality is not possible through RSBBS

The best way to search for a BADI in a transaction is by putting a breakpoint in the class CL_EXITHANDLER (tcode SE24) in the "Get Instance" method.
go to SE24
enter classname as "CL_EXITHANDLER"
display
double-click on "get Instance" method.
Put a breakpoint.
Now run the 'Simulate' in FB60 and check for exit_name when program stops at breakpoint.,

Simulate mouse clicks inLabview

I have a standalone driver that needs to be called many times in another VI, I don't know how to simulate mouse clicks in Labview to simulate a user running this VI. (This VI has a loop inside it, so it will run until a specific key is pressed)

If you need to programatically run the VI use the Run VI method of VI server. If you need to simulate users pressing buttons on that VI then use user events.
Attached is an example of a main VI that calls a SubVI and sends events to it. Open the SubVI front panel but do not run it. Open the Top Level VI and run it. Pressing the OK button on the Top Level or the SubVI will increment the numeric indicator on SubVI. Same with the stop button.

Option button click on IE is not working

I am trying to play around with Excel VBA code to select an option button on a webpage. For some reason the option button is not getting selected even though there is no errors when executing the code. Please share your thoughts.

How to capture Button Click in OAF

I have created a button "TestButton" using personalization. On the click of this button, a new page "TestPG" opens. But i have to pass a few parameters from the old page to the new page. How do i capture this button click event in the CO so that i can use the pageContext.forwardImmediately method to pass the parameters?
Also, what is the difference between a Button and a SubmitButton?

I never tried this... But can suggest you something.....
Create a Upload type of item in your region, which will allow you to browse your Image file.
Attach a VO attribute which will be based on EO. VO attibute will be based on Databse column of BLOB type, which will store the image in DB.
If you want to transfer this file to application server's any directory, you can do that also.
But above is solution to your problem..

How to redirect to home page on "Cancel" button click

I have created a web part for office 365 developed using sandbox solution on Sharepoint foundation 2013.
On "Cancel" button click i want to redirect user to another page(Home page) using C# only.
i used some methods like

but its not working. No methods which includes context or HttpContext is not working.

By default using panel accordion have arrow icon in left to open in a same way if i open the second one, first will get close automatically...

Creating a pop up window on button click?

Hi
How would I create a pop up modal window when a user clicks on a print button within an interactive report. This window would then display a message with a confirm or cancel button. If they click on confirm the page prints out and if they click cancel it takes the user back to the report

The confirm dialog is a native dialog in the browser. It will display a message and it has an ok and cancel button. Running it in javascript will prompt the user with the dialog, and the return value will be true or false depending on the button clicked.
You don't need any extra page whatsoever.

}This would prompt you with a small dialog, asking "Press a button.". Clicking Ok or Cancel will return true or false to variable r, which in this code is then tested.
You could shorten it up to

};Alternatively, if you are on version 4.0 or higher you can use a dynamic action for this. Set the action to fire on the click of a button, and as a true action you can choose the confirm action, which then lets you display a text.

Open a report from button click/javascript

Does anyone know if there is a way to call a report from a button click? Or through javascript? I set the report to Display Results > Link - within the dashboard and then did a view source on it and found the function that calls the report from the hyperlink.

So i have been trying out a few things and the following url works to open the default view of the request:

I just replaced 'Dashboard' in the code provided with the 'Go' and it started to work :)
What i need to do though is have this work for the session variables set up on the dashboard. I have 7 prompts which a user can use to filter a request. Each is assigned to a session variable that is used to call a stored procedure. Originally i thought that by setting the variables and then calling the report from the url that the session variable values i set would be used in the request. What seems to be happening is that the variables get set and then, on calling the url, they are reset to the defaults and the report is run.
Any help in solving this would be very much appreciated
