Simultaneous File Save in Jpeg and TDMS

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to log my Data Acquisition Data in TDMS file, while at the same time able to save my Front Panel Screen in Jpeg?
If this possible, I would appreciate any kind suggestion on how I can do this.  I used DAQmx for my Data Acquisition Application, and I want to log data in TDMS format and also save my front panel in a jpeg or .png format.
Thanks in advance.

It is no problem to get the entire front panel (Use Open VI reference, FP Get Image method), only a bit redundant perhaps.
You need to have logic for when to save (perhaps not every iteration), and what file name to save to.
Here is a very basic prototype to get you started. Unfortunately the choice of file format for the built in save to image function is limited. If you wish you can use the Get Image method and send the result to Image to PNG for instance.
The data for your graph must come from somewhere? It is not the waveform graph in itself you should save to the TDMS file, it is the data that enters the graph.

  • Is there a way to save an image file as a jpeg and add -web or -print to the file name?

I am trying to find a way to save my image file as a jpeg and add -web or -print to the existing file name.  This way I can easily see which files are lower resolution for web posting or high resolution for printing.

    Jason,
I helped somebody do a very similar thing about a week ago.
The trick is to use the Batch command's ability to construct a file name.
Tell the batch to append, e.g. "-x" without quotes, to the name of each saved file.
The batch runs an Action which does a save as JPEG, resize image, add logo, save as JPEG, then close document.
    The output is "<document name>-x.jpg" and "<document name>-x-x.jpeg".
Then use Windows Explorer to rename "*-x-x.jpg" to "*-print.jpg".
    Then rename "*-x.jpg" to "*-web.jpg".
    See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1038992?start=32
The name construction that I used there was just an "x" appended to the document name. Use whatever you like. Also juliew subsequently referred to the method as a "double-batch" run, although it is not. One run of the batch will output two JPEGs for each input document.
I hope the disagreements in that thread don't cause too much disruption.
If you want, the Batch command itself can be recorded in another Action which would store the parameters of the batch, then you could run that Action anytime without having to set up the details of the batch each time. It would always output to one specific folder, though.

  • When I try to import pictures from media card to iPhoto, I'm getting the error 'The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format.'  The file is a jpeg and I've never had this problem before.

When I try to import pictures from media card to iPhoto, I'm getting the error 'The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format.'  The file is a jpeg and I've never had this problem before.

    What version of iPhoto?
What colour profile is the shot?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • I want to edit properties of the interface windows opened while "Open File", "Save Page As" and interface opened during Downloading of any file.

I am doing a small project on dedicated web client where in user automatically logs in non-root user and Firefox automatically starts.
I am using Fedora 14 kernel 2.6.35.12-88.fc14.i686 and Firefox 3.6.16.
I have installed only Gnome in my computer with no Nautilus or other file browser on it.
I want to edit properties of the interface windows opened while "Open File", "Save Page As" and interface opened during Downloading of any file.
    Please guide me for this.

First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.
Now, for those of you who do not have the PhotoME addon and yet experience the same problem that I had and that I described above, I suggest the following strategy.
As PhotoME did cause these problems with Firefox latest versions, I am pretty covinved other addons probably might cause these problems too. Therefore, adopt the following method.
Test one addon at a time to see if this particular addon is behind your Firefox issues like the ones I had.
So, disable one addon only at a time. Then close your Firefox and restart it from scratch and see if you still have your Firefox problems. You must restart the Firefox browser from scratch. If you still have these Firefox problems, re-enable the disabled addon, restart your Firefox (again!) and repeat the same method for every single addon that you have.
Try to be selective by choosing first addons that are more likely to cause your Firefox problems such as not very well-known or not very popular addons (like it was the case for the PhotoME addon).
If this method works or if it does not work, report it on this web page so that others can be helped with your comments.
I hope this method will help you because I was really upset that I had these Firefox problems and I first thought it was the fault of Firefox, only to discover later that this PhotoME addon was the culprit and had caused me such upset.

  • Does Save Metadata to file save EVERYTHING? and...

    1. Does Save Metadata to file save EVERYTHING? in other words, all Lr settings, ratings, Picks, keywords, etc?
    and
    2. does Lr automatically read the metadata from those XMP files when the images are imported into a different catalog?

Does Save Metadata to file save EVERYTHING? in other words, all Lr settings, ratings, Picks, keywords, etc?
Everything, with the exception of flags, color labels, collection membership, and stacking.
Does Lr automatically read the metadata from those XMP files when the images are imported into a different catalog?
Yes. Note that XMP files are created for raw files only; for other image formats (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, DNG), the metadata is stored within the file itself. Unfortunately, LR doesn't save metadata for videos (either in XMP sidecars or the video file).

  • CS5: 16 Bit, File - Save As JPEG - No Size Pre-Calculation

I just want to say thanks again to the engineers at Adobe for finally adding the ability to save a 16 bit per channel file as a JPEG without first converting to 8 bit mode.  It will save me a bunch of future "aw dang" moments when I realize I've forgotten to go back in the history after saving to restore my file to 16 bits per channel.
I've noticed the pre-calculation of the JPEG file size estimate, however, is not correct when saving from a 16 bit file...  Usually it just shows "--" though I believe I've seen it say 0 kb at one time or another (could be wrong)...  I assume this is because the size estimate algorithm doesn't know about 16 bit data.  It seems to work as usual for 8 bit data.
Is this a well-known glitch and can we expect a fix (Chris)?  It's a minor annoyance but as I often save JPEGs for forums that have size limitations it would be nice to have back.

    Yep, known bug

  • TWO CRITICAL BUGS: 1) File, "Save Page As" and 2) right-click the picture and select "Save Image As", both do not work at all in Firefox 27, 28, and 29!

Note: capitals are used only to highlight important words.
PLEASE, TAKE THESE COMMENTS ON TWO CRITICAL BUGS VERY SERIOUSLY BECAUSE THE BUGS DESCRIBED BELOW ARE SO CRITICAL THAT I CANNOT USE THE LATEST VERSION OF FIREFOX UNLESS THEY DO NOT APPEAR IN THE LATEST VERSION AND THEREFORE I AM FORCED TO REVERT BACK TO FIREFOX 26.
I have Windows 7 64-bit and Firefox 26. I could not install Firefox 27, 28, and 29 due to the persistent presence of the two critical bugs described below. I have 8 GB of RAM and an Intel quad-core processor and a lot of hard disk space available.
I installed Firefox 27 and then Firefox 28 a while back and these two bugs described below were still present and now I have just checked again with Firefox 29 by installing it and yet again, these two bugs described below are present!! UNBELIEVABLE THAT THESE TWO CRITICAL BUGS ARE STILL PRESENT IN FIREFOX 29 WHEN I CLEARLY INFORMED YOU ABOUT THEM IN THE HELP, SUBMIT LINK OF FIREFOX!!
I am forced to revert to Firefox 26!
First, I use Windows 7 64-bit and I always use Firefox with at least 120 tabs opened. BUT I have 8 GB of RAM, an Intel core i7 quad-core processor and more than 1 TB of hard disk space. Consequently, I do not understand why I would have these two critical bugs.
With Firefox 26, I also have at least 120 tabs opened when I start Firefox and I do not have the two critical bugs described below, therefore I do not believe that the number of tabs is the reason of the two critical bugs that are present in Firefox 27, 28, and 29.
    ---FIRST CRITICAL BUG:
When I open ANY web page and do File, "Save Page As", the window that is supposed to open to locate the folder where I want to save this web page does NOT open at all, even if I wait a long time to see if it opens.
Same problem happened with Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!! When I reverted back to Firefox 26, this problem did NOT happen anymore!
    ---SECOND CRITICAL BUG:
When I use Google Images, for instance entering model in the search field of Google Images and then pressing enter.
Then I select any picture, open to a new tab this selected picture, then open a new tab by selecting the option View for this picture. Then right-click the picture and select "Save Image As".
Again, the window that is supposed to open to locate the folder where I want to save this picture does NOT open at all, even if I wait a long time to see if it opens.
Same problem happened with Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!! When I reverted back to Firefox 26, this problem did NOT happen anymore!
---THESE TWO CRITICAL BUGS DO NOT APPEAR WHEN I USE INTERNET EXPLORER 11.
I have no idea if you will be able to reproduce these two critical BUGS but I can assure you that they are not present when I use Firefox 26 and they are present when I use Firefox 27, 28, and 29. More, be aware that I have at least 100 tabs opened but I also have this same number of tabs opened in Firefox 26 and yet I do not experience these two critical bugs when I have Firefox 26!
Once again, these two bugs touch at two vital, critical very basic functions of Firefox and therefore I will NOT be able to use any version above 26 if these two bugs are still present, as they are present in Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!!!
Please, make it a priority to solve these two critical bugs. Thanks.
I did read a post related to the same issues “Firefox stops responding when trying to "save page" or "save image" | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support” at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/991630?esab=a&as=aaq
I am still reading it again to try to figure out exactly what the person did to make his problems be solved, as the post is not clear at all on what solved the problems!
In any case, all the suggestions proposed in this post do not work and I surely cannot do a system restore when it is obvious that the two bugs do not appear in Internet Explorer.

First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.

  • Why are files are disappearing, jpeg and xls

I've noticed files disappearing.  Many of my jpeg's in iPhoto are simply gone.  A thumbnail sometimes remains.  I had several xls files on my desktop and they have disappeared.  I did a search for xls files and the files were nowhere to be found.  I have the latest OS in an intel based iMac.

How much free space on the drive? CMD-I on the HD folder.

  • How does ACR save edited JPEG and TIFF files?

When a JPEG or TIFF file is edited in ACR, are the edits destructive when you click the "Done" button, permanently changing the file? Or is the edit info saved in sidecar files like with edited RAW files, not affecting the original file?
If I reopen a previously edited JPEG file in ACR, will the adjustment settings be the same as where I left off, allowing me to change those edits, like a crop or HSL adjustment? Thanks.

First: There is a Camera RAW Forum.
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/cameraraw
Second: It should be fairly simple to test your hypotheses.
And on my station at least it appears the data is stored in the file and not as a sidecar-file.

  • Isplash and Colorize files save as JPEG but Iphoto won't import them in.

I bought both Isplash and Colorize apps to use the edited photos in an imovie video.  The programs both import my iphoto files seamlessly for coloring but when I try and save them in Iphoto or import them into iphoto I get this error.
the file could not be imported (the file is in the iphoto library)
    Help?!

the file could not be imported (the file is in the iphoto library)
iPhoto won't import files that are already in the working Library package. How did they get there?
I'm guessing that you did not use either of these apps as an external editor?
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • Fireworks CS3 - Internal error when save as JPEG and batch mode

    Dears,
I am being in trouble for all along these 7 days due to this
error. I hope that someone may help me.
After upgrading to CS3 from Fireworks 8, I am having this
"internal error message" both when the preview for a JPEG export
format is chosen (it works OK when the export format is either GIF
or PNG) and when I work with batch operation.
Everything is OK if I run Fireworks either as "root" user or
as "adminplus" user ("adminplus" is the username of an extra user
with administration privileges I created for testing).
My operating system is MacOsX 10.5.4 and my computer is a
MacBook2,1 (MacBook with Intel Core 2 Duo 2 GHz with 2GB RAM and a
brand new 186,31 GB Hitachi Journaled HFS+ HD with 100GB free).
I tried in many way to get the valuable differences in the
Library files and privileges (looking to many forums, it seems this
may be the cause, also confirmed by the fact that other users works
fine) but I didn't get any special differences.
I tried to trash the preferences but still the error is
    present.
I tried with the master temporary file in MacOsX with
terminal command "stat -x $TMPDIR" checked against command "id".
User and privileges were OK but still the "internal error" was
    there.
I tried with a simple reinstall for Fireworks CS3 and with a
full reinstall of the full CS3 web standard suite and, moreover,
    uninstalling and reinstalling everything.
I also tried with Fireworks 8 which was not removed by the
upgrade and it has the same problems.
May I receive a competent suggestion about how to diagnosis
    and solve the problem?
    Many thanks,
    Carmine

    OK. I solved it!
Whoever will have the same problem may ask how I solved. It
is not complicated but it is a long story. I succeed without any
reinstall of operating system as suggested by the ADOBE support, in
case any of the suggestions found everywhere, will give no result.
I will be happy to explain what to do to whoever will need
    it.
    My very best wishes,
    Carmine

  • Batch Process Export As and Save As JPEG Question?

What is the method for creating scaled JPEGs from PNG files with batch processing (File | Batch Process...)?
    Application environment: Fireworks CS4.
Using History panel, I manually captured instructions
    Modify | Transform | Numeric Transform (13%)
Modify | Canvas | Fit Canvas
    File | Save As (JPEG)
History panel's saved JavaScript file script:
    fw.getDocumentDOM().scaleSelection(0.11999999731779099, 0.11999999731779099, "autoTrimImages transformAttributes");
    fw.getDocumentDOM().setDocumentCanvasSizeToDocumentExtents(true);
    fw.saveDocumentAs(null, true);
Running this sequence as a batch job requires manually selecting JPEG and "okaying"
CS4 documentation for saveDocumentAs is defined with different argument list: fw.saveDocumentAs(document) .  CS4 documentation also has: fw.exportDocumentAs(document, fileURL, exportOptions) to export JPEG (80% quality).  CS4 feature File | Image Preview... | Export does not create a history record for guidance.  I cannot find an example of either instruction save a file to a local folder in JPEG format.  My objective is to add an additional batch step Rename (prefix) for the JPEG output, and script this a a batch process.

    Joyce,
Thank you.  Your suggestion helped clear my mental log jam.
Fireworks batch scripting seems to work in reverse.
Using "Batch Process..." scripting interface 'Export' (as JPEG) option first, 'Rename' (add Prefix) option second, and then follow these by using the history panel's 2 previously saved steps (Numeric Transform, Fit Canvas), batch process now works.  PNG file (list) is saved in targeted folder as a reduced scale JPEG with a prefixed file name.
Batch Process allows the entire newly defined command sequence to be saved (script.js).  Placing this (renamed) file into Firework's batch look-up directory for scripts (C:\Documents and Settings\account_name\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4\Commands) does not work.  The file name does not display in "Batch Process" window "Batch options:" Commands drop-down list.
Batch Process only works by recreating the above steps each use.
The new (JavaScript) file is 26 KB.  Is script file size limited in Fireworks "Batch options:" feature?

  • Bug Report: [VIsio 2010] whenever I try to save a diagram to JPEG and then close Visio using the X button, Visio hangs

    Greetings
    I use Visio 2010 in windows 7 64bit
    and I have this problem:
whenever I try to save a diagram to JPEG (save as>JPEG) and then close Visio using the X button on the upper right corner, then Visio hangs.
The jpeg pic is saved ok, but Visio hangs permanently: I have to close it using task manager.
On the other hand, if after I save into jpeg, I press whatever other button in Visio (from ribbon) then it works ok, and afterwards I can close Visio with the X button
    - but, if I try to close Visio with the X button  right after saving to JPEG, Visio will surely hang.
    Thank you
PS. Visio 2010 is fully updated (File>Help reports:
    Visio 2010 Premium (v14.0.6111.5000) SP1 MSO (14.0.6112.5000) 32bit)

    Update:
    The problem reappeared/wasn't completely solved:
So, I also went to Control Panel>add/remove programs, rightclick on Adobe Acrobat X> change installation and untick the PDFMaker item, in order to uninstall it:
that's because initially, even after I had unticked "PDFMaker for Visio AddIn" in COM Add-Ins,
in File>Options>Add-Ins tab, on the Active Application Add-Ins part (yes, on ACTIVE Add-Ins)
I was still seeing about 5-6 lines, all having items containing PDFMaker for Visio AddIn" [PDFMVisio.vsl].
In other words, the PDFMVisio.vsl file was loaded even if unticked!!
Then, after uninstalling the add-in, the problem was finally fixed at last!
Thank you so much for this additional information!  I was having the same problem.  I did what you instructed, and the problem has now disappeared!

  • Shot in RAW and want to save in jpeg

I shot in RAW and opened with PSe 10.  Did my edits and went to save in jpeg and the option was not available;  only photoshop and tiff options were available.  How can I save in jpeg?  what about the file I am trying to save prevents a jpeg option?

To save time, simply change the bit depth before clicking the Open Image button.
This is no longer a problem in PSE11 as it’s possible to save a jpeg from a 16 bit file.
