Hi, I see I haven't had any responses but these problems haven't been fixed.
I still haven't been able to transfer purchases from my phone to my comp so consequently have stopped purchasing on my phone.
I bought a couple of albums recently via itunes on my comp, and tried to tranfer them to my phone via a playlist, but the sync often crashes. One album transferred except for one song, and the other hasn't at all. What happens is that when I autofill from a playlist it often hangs for ages on the first song and then I have to quit the application altogether as nothing happens for ages. Basically, the whole Itunes software freezes.
After this I find it hasn't transferred any songs, but they do appear greyed out on my phone, which means it has transferred some basic data such as the titles, but not the song itself. When I try to repeat the process to complete the transfer Itunes tells me that it can't transfer because the songs are already on the phone, but they are not!! I can't click or remove on the greyed out items, so now I have a couple of almost full albums on my computer that I can't tranfer or install on my phone, and a whole bunch of greyed out songs on my phone that I can't play or remove!
The rest of the problems as above still stand. I downloaded the latest itunes OS updates but nothing's changed. I haven't done the very latest iphone update yet though because it says you need to make sure your stuff is backed up, and I don't want to lose the purchases I made on the phone that I can't transfer to my comp. I'm planning on uninstalling itunes completely and reinstalling but I have little faith that this will fix the issue.
Can someone please help at all?? I'm so sick of this!

I can not get to iPhone screen, so no way to get to Settings. That is the problem. When I connect phone to iTunes I get screen asking to insert SIN card. On the phone I'm getting Cinfigure screen asking Launguage , Country or Region, Wi-Fi, ( I can connect to my home wi-fi), and last screen "Activating your iPhone". After two minutes of waiting IM getting message: Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server in temporary unavailable. try connecting to iTunes or try later or contat apple.com/support.

Is it necessary to have a U.S. Tax ID to sell a book in ItunesStore if I live in Canada?

What is the Tax ID number? I would have to pay taxes in the U.S.? Do I have to pay a feeto obtain this ID number?
A Tax ID number (EIN) is necessary to avoid double-taxation when you publish a "paid" eBook on the iTunes Store.
Without an US Tax ID, the math would be the following:
if your book sells for 10,00$, Apple will take 3,00$ and pay to you 7,00$ BUT, it will retain approx. 30% (2.10$) and pay the income tax in U.S.A. on your behalf, acting as a withholding agent.
Then, on what is left (4.90$), you will have to pay local income tax in your Country.
With a US Tax ID number, this matter is regulated on the base of a bi-lateral taxation treaty in force between U.S. and your Country, in order to avoid the double-taxation.
In this case, Apple will pay to you 7,00$ (or possibly deduct approx. 5%, depending on the clauses of the specific treaty and the product cathegory). Therefore you pay only the local income tax in your Country.
The costs involved for obtaining tha Tax ID number are relatively modest. Mainly, are local costs for the authentication of the required documents.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

It's not currently possible to permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible (which you can't currently do on devices on iOS 6) : hiding and unhiding.

If they are ibooks bought/downloaded from Apple then you can either copy them from your old iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync them to the iPad via the device's Books tab - or you should be able to re-download them for free directly on the new iPad.

You can actually submit your content for free through iTunes, you don't have to pay for third party services. To be honest I have no idea how they work or even if they are doing anything different then what you can do. Its pretty easy....
To submit an application to have your own content added to the iTunes Store, please visit the iTunes Labels & Marketing page at:

Apple evaluates each application individually, so it may take longer than we'd like to get back to you. But don't worry - we will review your application and contact you if we are interested in adding your content to the iTunes Store. Your application will be kept on file for future reference, so there is no need to submit it more than once.

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml that stores the update history, if present.
