  • Tooltip is shown right outside the desktop - How to move it left to mouse?

    Hello,
    in my application I create tooltips for a JTable using the celltext when pressing the mouse.
    public void jDisturbanceMgmntTable_mousePressed(MouseEvent e)
    if (e.getButton() == MouseEvent.BUTTON1)
    tooltip.setTipText(ToolTipText);
    int x = jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getLocationOnScreen().x + e.getX();
    int y =jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getLocationOnScreen().y + e.getY() +20;
    PopupFactory popupFactory = PopupFactory.getSharedInstance();
    tooltipPopup = popupFactory.getPopup(jDisturbanceMgmntTable, tooltip,x,y);
    tooltip.setFont(new java.awt.Font("Courier New", Font.PLAIN, 18));
    tooltipPopup.show();
    The tooltip is always shown right from the mouse- pointer. If the mainwindow is maximized and I click near the right screen edge, the tooltip is show outside the desktop window.
    Normally the tooltip should be moved left the mousepointer :
    if(x + "TooltipWindow.getWidth()" > Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().x)
    x = x - "TooltipWindow.getWidth()"
    But that is exactly my problem, I don't know how to get the width of the tooltip window.
    Any suggestions?

    @Cesar_Castro
    This is a really good idea.
    To close the post I want to give the complete working code :
    public void jDisturbanceMgmntTable_mousePressed(MouseEvent e)
    /* when the left mouse- button is pressed on the JTable*/
    if (e.getButton() == MouseEvent.BUTTON1)
    /* get the text of the cell the mouse is pointing */
    int iRow = jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getSelectedRow();
    if (iRow > -1)
    Object CellObj = jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getValueAt(jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getSelectedRow(),
    jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getSelectedColumn());
    String ToolTipText = null;
    /*put the cell- text into the ToolTipText string- object*/
    if (CellObj != null)
    ToolTipText = CellObj.toString();
    else
    ToolTipText = "...";
    /*searching for a linebreak in the text (find out if it is a multi- line text)*/
    int first_row=ToolTipText.indexOf("\n");
    if(first_row == -1)
    first_row=ToolTipText.length();
    /* Copy all the letters from the first line to a new object
    The idear is that the width of the tooltip in dependend only
    on the first line*/
    String strFirstRow=ToolTipText.substring(0,first_row);
    /*Replacing the formatting- signs to html- code*/
    ToolTipText = ToolTipText.replace("\n", "<br>");
    ToolTipText = ToolTipText.replace("\t", " ");
    ToolTipText = ToolTipText.replace(" ", "?");
    ToolTipText = "<html>" + ToolTipText + "</html>";
    tooltip.setTipText(ToolTipText);
    /* getting the default Tooltip position*/
    int x = jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getLocationOnScreen().x + e.getX();
    int y =jDisturbanceMgmntTable.getLocationOnScreen().y + e.getY() +20;
    //creating the font object for the tooltip
    Font font=new Font("Courier New", Font.PLAIN, 18);
    //getting the fontmetrics for that font
    FontMetrics fontmetrics = tooltip.getFontMetrics(font);
    //getting the width in pixel for the first line of text - should be nearly the width of the tooltip
    int width_of_text=fontmetrics.stringWidth(strFirstRow);
    //getting the width of the desktop
    int ScreenWidth = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize().width();
    //calculating the approx x endposition of the tooltip window
    //is the position of the mouse- pointer plus the length of the first line of text adjusting by 10 pixel offset
    int toolTipXEndPos = width_of_text+x+10;
    // if that position is outside the desktop
    if(toolTipXEndPos > ScreenWidth)
    //move the window left
    x = ScreenWidth - width_of_text -20;
    PopupFactory popupFactory = PopupFactory.getSharedInstance();
    tooltipPopup = popupFactory.getPopup(jDisturbanceMgmntTable, tooltip,x,y);
    tooltip.setFont(font);
    tooltipPopup.show();
    }

    once I allowed location services for passbook I could add cards, etc. I was able to turn location services off after a card was added and the passbook option still showed up under general settings
    Hope this helps. It took me hours to figure it out

  • How can I use an American credit card to pay for a membership from outside the US?

    How can I use an American credit card to pay for a membership from outside the US? My payment page is set up for Japanese credit cards. I can't change to the US store, because the "Select a Store" page just jumps to the "Products" page.
    Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi Batt5721,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
    The address and the country on the Credit Card should match the billing address then only payment would be possible.

  • How to access a class file outside the package?

    created a two java files Counter.java and TestCounter.java as shown below:
    public class Counter
         public void print()
              System.out.println("counter");
    package foo;
    public class TestCounter
         public static void main(String args[])
              Counter c = new Counter();
              c.print();
    Both these files are stored under "D:\Test". I first compiled Counter.java and got Counter.class which resides in folder "D:\Test"
    when i compile TestCounter.java i got the following error message:
    D:\Test>javac -classpath "d:\Test" -d "d:\Test" TestCounter.java
    TestCounter.java:6: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class Counter
    location: class foo.TestCounter
    Counter c = new Counter();
    ^
    TestCounter.java:6: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class Counter
    location: class foo.TestCounter
    Counter c = new Counter();
    ^
    2 errors
    what could be the problem. Is it possible to access a class file outside the package?

    ya that's fine..if we have two java files where both resides in the same package works fine or two java files which donot have a package statement also works fine. But my doubt is, i have a Counter.class which does not reside in a package and i have a TestCounter.class which resides in a package "foo", in such a scenario, how do i tell to the compiler that "Counter.class resides in such a path, please look at that and give me TestCounter.class". i cannot use import statement to import Counter.class in TestCounter.java because i donot have a package for Counter.java.

  • How to stream flv files from a diffferent directory outside the applications folder

    Hi everyone,
    I want to stream the flv files from a different location
    stored in the hard disk, which is outside the applications folder
    in the FMS installation root directory. Does anyone know how to do
    it?
    Regards,
    Diptanu

    VOD changes won't help him, he said outside the applications
    folder. According to adobe any new vod folders must be in the
    applications folder, hence virtually worthless for most purposes. A
    better question may be, how do you specify a folder on a different
    local hard drive. I wish adobe wouldn't make it so complicated, it
    should be a really simple matter.

  • How do I use the value of a table attribute outside the table?

    I have two tables that are master detail. But it might not be so obvious to the user before he knows how the page works that they are master detail. The tables are in separate showDetailItems in a panelAccordion and what I was thinking of was to show the value of one coloum in the selected row in the master in the text in the showdetail item that contains the detail table. But I can´t find the right expression to put into the accordion. How should the expression look like to get the value of an attribute in a table for use outside the table?

    Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn´t work. The first problem is that the page turns blank when I use that expression for the text in the showDetailItem and the second problem is that I don´t seem to be able to use the master table as a partial trigger. When I click edit in the partial trigger property I can´t shuttle the master table over to be a partial trigger to the showDetailItem even if the table has an id.
    Edited by: Atlantic Viking on Apr 2, 2009 6:24 AM
    Well I figured out how to come half way. I did the following things:
    1) Created an attribute value binding to the attribute I wanted to be shown in the showDetailItem
    2) Set the text property in the showDetailItem to this attribute value like this #{binding.attributeValue}
    To solve the problem I had with the partial triggers I continued like this
    3) Gave other components on the path from the showDetailItem to the master table id´s
    4) Clicked edit on the partial trigger property on the showDetailItem and was now able to shuttle the master table over to be a partial trigger.
    But I now got an other problem which looks like a bug. At first when I enter the page it looks fine but when I change focus in the master table to another row part of the showDetailItem containing the detail table disapears. The detail table still remains and works as it should but the part containing the text I tried to set above disapears and the text in the showDetailItem containing the master gets replaced by the text that was supposed to be in the showDetailItem containing the detail table. Any suggestions how to correct this are very welcome.

  • How to refer to a protected class outside the enclosing package

    Hi all,
    At the page 357 of the book Java Language Specification(Second Edition), when saying about checking accessibility of Type and Method, they concern Let C be the class containing the method invovation T.m, if T is in a different package than C, and T is protected then T is accessible if and only if C is a subclass of T. I just wonder how to refer a protected type outside the package it declared.
    For example,
    package test;
    public class test {
    static protected class protectedTest {
    public void foo() {..}
    in another package
    import test.*;
    class subtest extends test.protectedTest {  <- error
    Anyone can give me an example showing an invocation directly to foo() declared in class test.protectedTest ? The invocation should appear outside package test.
    Thanks,
    Ha Chau

    The protected inner class would be accesible only within a class which extends test, where you could either use or extend it as in:
    class subtest extends test {
        private static class sub2 extends protectedTest {
               }

  • How to add a scroll bar within a view window ?I want to display x and y axis outside the scoll window and keep those axis static and move the graph within scroll area

    how to add a scroll bar within a view window ?I want to display x and y axis outside the scoll window and keep those axis static and move the graph within scroll area
    ananya

    Hey Ananya,
    I believe what you want to do is possible, but it will not be
    easy.  If you want to add a scroll bar that will scroll the graph
    back and forth but keep the axis set, you would want to add a
    horizontal or vertical scrollbar.  Then you would create an event
    handler for the scroll event.  You would have to manually plot
    different data within this scroll event.  Unfortunately, there is
    not really a built in way to do this with the Measurement Studio plot
    control.

  • How to create an instance of a protected class outside the enclosing packag

    Hi all,
    I have a piece of code like this:
    package test;
    public class A {
    protected class B { }
    How to create an instance of B outside the package test ? Could you please give me an example ?
    Thanks
    Ha Chau

    Thank WirajR for your reply, but in your solution,
    you have to create an instance of B inside class A
    and pass it outside. I would like to know whetherwe
    can create an instance of class B outside thepackage
    test. That means I want the instance creation
    expression of B appears outside the package test.Can
    we do that?
    If you want to use a class this way then it shouldn't
    be marked protected. I can't see why you don't
    just declare it public if that's what it is.
    Wouldn't be much point to haveing a protected
    modifier if it had no effect, would there?I think there is use for it if you use an interface to filter out the parts you want to give public access to, and keep the part you want to keep protected, protected

  • How to set tabs and how to set them outside the margins of my main body of text

    I type lots of docs where I have a body of text, indented, and then there is an action letter, A,B,C etc, out to the right.  Can't see how to set the body of text plus separate tab outside the margin in Pages.  Could do it in MS Word.  Pages looks great, but I'm stuck on a few things I used to do.  Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Hi Peter
    Thanks for the reply.
    Here is a sample of the text:
    you'll see that the D, C, B etc are squashed up to the text, I can't move their tab outside the margin.  On Word (dare I say it?) I could set my right hand margin and still have a tab further out.  Don't know that your anchoring idea is the thing.  Is there another way to limit my text?  I wonder about columns, although then all the ABCs will be in the second won't they?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again

  • How far outside the "38 cities" will 4G reach?

    I'm primarily asking about West Lafayette.  I live about 3-4 miles outside of West Lafayette in the city of Lafayette.  Does anyone know how far outside the "city limits" the 4G access will reach?  If I am able to get 4G speeds, I'll hold off on upgrading until the 4G phones come out.  If not, I'll be upgrading at the end of the month.  Looking at Sprints 4G coverage maps, the service seems to reach pretty far outside the city limits.  I know it is different technology and different companies, but I was just curious how this would progress.
    Thanks

    Follow this link;  http://phones.verizonwireless.com/4g/
    go to the map feature, and their is a zip code lookup available.  I live outside of Pittsburgh proper by about 25 miles, but my zip is included in the 4G coverage area.  Now I just need the phones to show up!!

  • How to run the Start_Script outside the cluster

    Hi
    We have a 3 node cluster and we have 4 RG created. All is working fine.
    In the situation , where the appliaction stops for some reason , I have created the probe script to only page the team and not do anything else. The probe script is always returning 0.
    Also , I have suppresed the PMF monitoring as described by http://blogs.sun.com/TF/entry/disabling_pmf_action_script_with
    This is the start of my start script
    =====================================
    #!/bin/ksh
    while getopts 'R:G:' opt
    do
    case "${opt}" in
    R) RESOURCE=${OPTARG};;
    G) RESOURCEGROUP=${OPTARG};;
    esac
    done
    sleep 60 &
    /usr/cluster/bin/pmfadm -s ${RESOURCEGROUP},${RESOURCE},0.svc
    [...rest of your code to start the application...]
    ===============================================
    The reason , we did this way is because
    1>When the application daemon goes down , only the master process goes down , all the child process are still up and running . The child process do not need the main daemon as long as they are UP. They only need main daemon if they need to restart.
    2>If we go by complete restart of the Resource , it will kill all the child process before starting them. This can be cause of concern for us since restarting of the child process required vendor interaction attimes as most of them are TCPIP connections with various applications(We are interface engine shop)
    3>However, We can just start the main daemon only and all the previous child process can connect back to it.
    Question is how? I tried starting the Start script outside the cluster by passing the parameters of Resource and RG , but it threw this error
    "pmfadm: ",,0.svc" No such <nametag> registered" , and I think this is because Iam running it outside the cluster as they do not have access to pmadm process. However, it starts the daemon , but I do not know if that will start PMF monitoring
    4>So , how can I start the process outside the cluster
    5>Also ,if I start the process outside the cluster , will it start the PMF monitoring

    Edited by: Cluster_newbie on Jul 29, 2008 11:08 AM

    thanks for the answer , Thats good then. Ok , now why I need to run it outside the SC
    1>Ours is a Egate envirnoment and the process that gets started by my START_SCRIPT is a boot strap kind of a daemon process. This process in turn launches multiple TCPIP , ODBC , FTP process and they run independently once they are launched.
    2>The daemon process is what we are doing a probe on. This daemon process sometimes can go down and more or less it is normal , however the child process still continues to run. In non cluster envirnoment , we just start the daemon again and all works fine
    3>However, if I take a restart option from Cluster when the daemon dies , It will first STOP the data service(stop all the child process) , then start it . My requirement is that I should NOT stop the Dataservice because stoping the DS will result in killing of child processes too My requirement is just to launch the START_SCRIPT so that only daemon is started. If the child process are still running , the daemon will not launch any duplicate child processes
    I can make Stop script more intellegent , but it is very difficult to know in what situation the Stop was called from. If I know it was from RESTART option , I can then ignore killing the child process. But I guess it is very difficult to know
    4>So , I thought , if the Daemon goes down , I will start the daemon outside the SC and my probe script will still do its job . I have anyway disabled the PMF monitoring , so I do not care about the PMF
    does it make sense?
    Do you know any other way of starting the start_script withing SC , without doing shutdown and start
    thanks

  • I want the reload button to appear outside the address bar (on the left, next to the back and forward buttons), not at the extreme end of the address bar. How can I do this?

    I want to re-position the reload button to appear outside the address bar (on the left, next to the back and forward buttons), not where it is at the moment, which is at the extreme end of the address bar and is a real hassle to use. How can I do this?

    To move the Stop and Reload buttons to their position to the left of the location bar you can use these steps:
    * Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
    * Drag the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position to the left of the location bar.
    * Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
    * Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise (Space or Separator) to get two distinct buttons.
