Site breaks in FF 3.5

hi
i am building a site, it's built slightly awkward, i had to recreate an old flash site using html.
anyhow, it's fine now, in all browsers but FF.
in FF it breaks all over the screen
the address: d1014240.kapara26.sox-box.com (it's a temporary address).
any idea why? do you see the error or do you see it ok ?

You are using XHTML style tags in an HTML document ( /> instead of having a closing tag), your td background is missing an "=" between background and the value. And there are some others as well.

My responsive site is centered properly until I add a banner graphic but then the site breaks and displays in browsers left justified. Also, I have many required links in my primary menu. They can't be in a dropdown. What's the best way to add these to a responsive site?

If you want serious assistance, we need to be privy to the markup (HTML), style rules (CSS) and script (JS) that you have managed to populate your document with.

Site breaks after implementing RBLOB

Dears
I have successfully configured RBLOB for a document center site collection, however as soon as I enable blob setting on content db, the site containing documents seems distorted, and I am not able to upload any document it gives me a web.config error.
Note I first created site & then enable the rblob, hope it doesn't matter that if you create site first & then enable rblob or vice versa.

FF22: display of web changes to huge proportions + sites break

I tried everything except complete reset of Firefox. All websites, including Google, display way too big font and images. Causes parts of websites to break down. Using zoom doesn't solve anything. Checked fonts settings, no problem there. Unworkable for productivity. Couldn't even reach this page because link for logging in didn't work. Only after re-installing FF 21 creating this ticket became possible. In FF 21 all aforementioned issues are not present.

I would like two see separate percentages for the chrome area and for the content area. This would eliminate the problem of needing an add-on (or userChrome.css style rule) for when a single setting doesn't make everything look the way you want.

Site Structure review

Hi guys, i'm working on a site, using tables with css, still
working on design issues, but at this point am interested in
comments regarding the structure of the site. I do have nested
tables, which depending on the source seems like this can be ok, as
long as it doens't go to far, however i do have one colspan, not
sure if this is serious enough for me to get rid of.

Hi Mike,
The site breaks badly in Firefox. I suspect it's the colspan
and table height mix.
Table height is invalid HTML and you should get rid of those.
Let the image's dimensions and your other content control
that for you.
Rather than have the horizontal part of the image across the
top take up 3 table cells, one of which is merged, why not put one
larger image in a single <td>?
Essentially, you could have one "big" table that is 1 column
with 3 rows.
In the first row, your big horizontal image.
In the second row, nest a table inside with two columns. The
left column for your navigation and the right column for the
content text.
The 3rd row could be the footer.
If you need to make the height of the middle row taller but
don't have enough content, you have a few options.
You can add a bottom margin to the last element in the column
to push the bottom of the table down, or, make the nested table 3
columns instead of 2 and use the third column to insert a
transparent gif image as a spacer. Make it 1 px wide by "x" pixels
tall.
One other thing you might want to change. You have a CSS
class named .body.
It's not a good idea to use id's and classes with the same
name as html tags.
You could call the big table .container, for example.

How can I disable addons from running on certain tabs, windows, or websites, without having to create a whole new profile?

Not every potentially site-breaking addon has a site whitelist or enable/disable list. While some addons exsit for "sandboxing" tabs - it only sandboxes the pages loaded on that tab, not what the browser/addons do to them. I've already searched for solutions, and frankly, I'm surprised that this question hasn't been asked before until now: Why can't multiple "profiles" be run side-by-side, on a per-tab and/or specific-website(s) basis, in the same browser window?

Basically any addon that affects ssl settings. Not all of the extra "hardening" to ssl that addon does results in a certificate error or warning when I try to load a page. Some of them cause redirect errors or even just a blank screen with nothing loaded at all. Even if I "whitelist" a page in an addon's settings, that page could still not load because the addon has changed the browser's settings itself...

How to Work-around Fixed Border Image used in the template?

Drop shadows can be built into the #Container background-image like so.
Remove restrictive height values from your CSS. Use default CSS positioning (which is no positioning at all) for the primary layout. All those APDivs are going to drive you nuts. Alignment can best be achieved with CSS margins, padding and floats. Below is a quick and dirty example.

Weird issue with website(/s?)

I guess this relates to networking?
Anyway, for some arcane reason DeviantART stopped working, cleared cache, disabled all extensions, flushed history, flushed cookies, did everything, still nothing.
installed midori and firefox, still not working.
so I decided to contact their help desk, which just proved to be an utter waste of time (as expected)
here's a video demonstrating the issue, it's about 5 minutes long and shows extensive testing with all three mentioned browsers (two at stock settings, mind you) and it shows me re-disabling all extensions and clearing everything but saved passwords and form autofill data in chrome.

I'm at loss, it's been over a week now and I've tried everything and can't find even a hint as to what causes it.
at the time of recording the video I was running kernel 3.15.5-1-ARCH, not I'm running 3.15.5-2-ARCH (if that matters), DE is Mate 1.8.1, chrome version 35.0.1916.153 (Official Build 274914), Firefox version 32 and midori whatever version is current.

as for what stopped working means, the video explains it quite well.
the dropdown menus don't work, the deviantWatch is broken and the menu items are unclickable (whenever I'm hovering over a menu I click after a while, then when nothing happens I click frantically to demonstrate it's not working).
at first I assumed (and still do) that the issue was on their end as it only affects me but they more or less said (heavily paraphrased) "no, fuck you. we can't replicate it on ubuntu therefore it must be on your end"

CS4 no longer recognizing AS2 classes

Issue: I designed a site in CS4 using AS2 and external AS2 classes. Everything worked fine until about a week ago. Now when I go back and try to edit those files, the classes are no longer loaded and the site breaks.
I haven't edited any of the code, just graphics.
I even tested other files that use external classes and those break now as well. (I keep daily backups of my progress. Published two weeks ago: fine; publish the same file today: broken.)
I went into the AS2.0 Preferences and they're set the way they always have been:
$(UserConfig)/Classes
$(LocalData)/Classes
Since publishing those working files, the only thing I've been doing is a bunch of AS3 tutorials on Lynda. I haven't edited any AS libraries or settings or preferences, so I can't figure out what's going on.
Has Flash gotten confused? How can I get these reconnected? Thanks.

Ok, so that was the issue. I had connected to the FLA to the AS file, but not the AS file to the FLA.
I had assumed that the general preferences, ($(UserConfig)/Classes, and $(LocalData)/Classes) were setting up the default connection to the Classes folder in my dev environment. That's why I had the folder titled "Classes" with a captial letter, and didn't link things all the way in either the FLA or the AS files.
I changed Classes to lowercase, connected it in the FLA, ("classes.com.skin.Scrubber"), then matched the same in the first line of Scrubber.as (class classes.com.skin.Scrubber extends MovieClip) and got things linked up.

   Our environment is as follow:
    - Web/app on Windows server with BO Xi 3.1 and Tomcat 5.5.20 (version that comes from BO CDs)
    - CMS repository DB using MS-SQL 2005 server
    - Most of our reports are Deski, but we also run Webi
We have been working publishing Xcelsius 2008 Dashboards directly from workstations and feeding those with QaaWS that run on the WEb/App box. The site was operational and working fine, but suddenly all Xcelsius Dashboards are not displaying at all. The site break upon opening. The detailed message is listed below:

Well, spoke with BO support and was faster to repair than look for causes. BO support deliver to me a new Xcelsius folder.
The process was as folow:
1) Rename Xcelsius folder under <BOInstall Path>\Tomcat55\webapps\Xcelsius to be Xcelsius-BACK
2) Copy the new Xcelsius folder under \Tomcat55\webapps\Xcelsius
3) Stop TOMCAT and START it
4) Happy ending ==> I can see the Dashboard again in any workstation. I assumed installing Adobe Flash on the server mess some plug in or active X control (do not know for sure)

"Download firefox" page broken on osx

Apparently your site can't recognize its own browser -- going to the download page in firefox on mac osx gives me a windows exe (and there's no option to select a download for another platform, which is a huge oversight).
Not a big deal since it works on chrome/safari, but there's a lot of other sites that seem to have similar issues (misidentified browser, js failing to load for some reason or another, etc –– sites break, and I don't know why). I'm a long time firefox user, but I've started seriously considering switching over to chrome (most of my web dev friends have already, and the stupid ui changes haven't helped).
Mozilla, please fix your shit.

Unable to apply custom theme with background Image through code

I am creating custom SharePoint 2013 theme and applying it through code on site by referring MSDN Article : "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj927175(v=office.15).aspx".
However when I try to add background image in custom theme and apply that theme to site then sites UI breaks.
Details: I have two features, in feature-1: I am Deploying *.spfont, *.spcolor and background image. Then I am adding a new entry in "composed looks" list for my custom theme. in feature 2- I am applying the custom theme to site by using following

Submitting POST forms on certain websites returns a blank page

Some websites with POST forms return a blank page when I submit the form. The data apparently gets submitted, so depending on the website I can refresh the page and it works fine. But some websites, this completely breaks the functionality.
Most recently this happened to me clicking the "Ship to this address" button on Etsy (which is a site-breaking situation and refreshing took me back to the same page). Then I came here to register an account and, well, funny story, it actually happened when I clicked the Register button after filling out a username, password, and email address (but refreshing worked).
Possibly related: around the same time this started happening, I noticed that 307 redirects would give me a blank page saying "Document has moved [link]here[/link]," and I'd have to click "here" to move on, as opposed to the redirect automatically happening.
I've tried disabling add-ons and it hasn't helped.

Clicking the Post Question button just now also sent me to a blank page, and refreshing just took me back to the Post Question form. Fortunately by confirming my account through my email, my question got posted. Otherwise I would have had to post on this forum in Chrome. The horror.

Fixing my text size in a browser

I'm in Dreamweaver CS3, building with CSS Div containers. Is
there a way to have my text a fixed size? In other words, most

They aren't attacking your design or idea. They are trying to
save you from
a re-work later when you discover that, for example, your
1000x1000 box
causes a horizontal scroller in browser windows less than
1000px wide. Of
course, nothing would be centered then for the millions of
people who have a
browser width of 800.
I have to say I saw a lot of good advice, and good questions
designed to try
to help you. I didn't see any HTML toolsheds (that really was
funny, by the
way :-) ), no dismissive gospel, etc. Just solid advice .
When you wrote "sorry to disappoint", I'm afraid that does
sound arrogant.
Think about it. People here are happy to help you, as they
are everyone
else. Frankly, if someone didn't like what you wrote I doubt
he or she would
even notice if you posted again, let alone spend one second
caring about it
to the point of being disappointed. Implying you have that
kind of impact on
people in a forum of thousands of anonymous posts is what
sounds arrogant.
I hope you'll stick around. There's a lot to learn from the
people who are
here to help.
Many will save you a lot of work down the road, even if what
they are saying
doesn't make sense to you right now.
If people didn't think they were helping you or saving you
from a mistake
down the line, they wouldn't be wasting their time trying to
answer your
post. Many of the frequent volunteers here started asking
questions in this
forum years ago, and were exactly where you are when they
started.
Maybe they really aren't "bashing" your idea or "preaching"
to you.
Maybe they just know something you don't yet, and it's at
least worth the
benefit of the doubt.
All of the different ideas and suggestions are one of the
things that make
this forum a great one.
