Size of my clip

I don´t know how can i ask.
I want to put my clip in 50 x 50 instead of 720 x 480 and then export it to put it into my web.
how could i do it?

When you export via QUICKTIME CONVERSION, you click on the OPTIONS button and see all sorts of things like Video compression, audio compression and the like. Under Video Compression there is a button for size. That is where you set the size you want to export.

  • Can you change the default size of the Clip Monitor window in PE 13?

Can someone please confirm whether it is possible to change the default size of the clip monitor window in Premiere Elements 13. Searching this question brings up a reply to someone who asked the same question about PE 7; the answer then was to open the clip monitor window, adjust its size and then leave it open for the duration of the editing session. Is this still valid for PE 13, or is there some other way of adjusting the default size of the window so that the next session opens at the same size as the last one? Help appreciated.

There are certain actions even in the project that remains open that will close the opened, sized, and positioned Project Window.
    Also
    1. If you go to dual monitor system, typically the program does not remember the dual monitor setup when the project is saved closed and reopened.
    2. If you use the project without a dual monitor system and save close project with the Preview Window open, sized, and positioned, when you re-open the project, the Preview Window is gone and would need to be reopened, sized, and positioned again.

  • How do i change the size of a clip using batch export?

hi, when i try and do a batch export to change my clips from a DV PAL to PhotoJpeg 320*240 sized clips the "options" button is greyed out. so all i have as export settings are the QT presets in a pulldown list. is there any way i can create my own setting? (and the also save that?)
    thx

    what i'm seeing is that
    a) selecting all files in Media Man. gives me the option to size and set codecs but not the audio off.
    b) selecting all files in Batch Export allows me to pick a format (QT, aiff etc) choose a preset (photoJpeg included) select whether to include audio and video or both but not set the size or customize the QT settings
    c) selecting all clips then "file>export>using QT conversion" gives me all options, but seem to grab only the first clip.

  • Why is file size of exported clip so large?

I have a movie clip in MPEG-4 format, 3 minutes in duration, 720x400. I ripped it (using Handbrake) from a DVD I own. Let's call this clip Clip A. I wanted it to be smaller, so I used Quicktime Pro 6.5.2 to export it. Let's call the exported clip Clip AE (E for exported). Clip AE has these properties:
    Compression: Sorenson Video 3
    Quality: High
    Frame rate: 15
    Width x Height: 310 x 200
    Sound format: QDesign Music 2
    Sample rate: 22,050 kHz
    Channels: Mono
    File Size: 5.5 MB
Great. That's just what I wanted. Now I go to a second movie clip I have in MPEG-4 format. This Clip B is only 90 seconds in duration, 720x400. I export it to Clip BE. Clip BE has these properties:
    Compression: Sorenson Video 3
    Quality: High
    Frame rate: 15
    Width x Height: 310 x 200
    Sound format: QDesign Music 2
    Sample rate: 22,050 kHz
    Channels: Mono
    FILE SIZE: 25.8 MB
In both exports I set the Key Frame Rate and Data Rate to automatic. So, everything is the same except Clip BE, which is half as long in duration as Clip AE, is 5 times larger in file size.
I'm no expert at using QT Pro, but this result just does not make sense to me. Why is the second exported clip 5 times larger than the first one. I wanted to email both of them to my wife at work as a little surprise, but the second one is way too big for my email account. How can I get the file size of that second clip down to the size of the first one? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
iMac G5, iBook (dual USB) G3   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The second clip probably has more detail or motion than the first.
Open Clip AE and choose "Get Info." Note the data rate of the video.
Now export clip B again, but instead of setting the data rate to automatic, set it to the same number as Clip AE's data rate.
You will lose video quality, but the file should come out smaller.

  • Large size of video clip after drag and drop

I'm putting together an iMovie. I'm dragging very small clips from one pane (on one hard drive) to another pane (on another hard drive). The move is successful, but the size of the moved clip is just too large.
For example, I'll have a 20 second clip that I drag -- let's say it's called clip06.dv and it will take up 4 or 5 GB of space on the HD. Needless to say ,I'll never get anything done this way. Any suggestions?

Busily working on the son's bar mitzvah video

Here is the trick I have found to reduce the size. After having cut and reordered your clips as wanted, with all transitions and titles, but without sound, export them to iDVD.
In iDVD, choose a basic theme without animated title and save an image of the film on your hard disc. This creates a .img file which size is less than 10 times smaller than the original iMovie file. Double click this file: you will find two folders. Open the VIDEO_TS folder and look for files VTS0101.VOB, VTS0102.VOB, etc.
Go back to iMovie, open a new movie and drag the .VOB files in it. Et voila ! The operation takes a quite long time, but you will obtain a few clips with the minimum possible size. You can then throw away the original oversized iMovie file and also the .img file.
Note that QuickTime and iMovie needs the MPEG-2 Playback module (19.99$ at Apple Store) to read the .VOB files.
    Hope this help.

  • Huge file size when importing clips

When importing clips from my Sony Handycam (HDR TG3E) in HD 1920 X 1080 the file sizes get extremely large. A 10 minute clip results in a filesize (.mov) of approx 8 GB. Is this really meant to be? I use iMovie '08 v. 7.1.4.
Would appreciate any help in adjusting the software or hardware preferences resulting in smaller files.

for editing HiDEf, it gets automtically converted into some 'intermediate' codec, which has ~40-60GBs/h.
on export, these files will get 'shrunk' again..

  • Size of all clips in iMovie that will fit on one dvd burned by iDVD

I have a lot of iMovie clips that I'm putting into one iMovie project. I know that at some point, the clips will not fit on one dvd, and that I'll have to split it up into different iDVD burns. Is there a way to know the maximum number of iMovie clips (size in MB, I presume) that, after being sent to iDVD, will (just) fit on one dvd? Trial and error is removing a clip, saving the iMovie project, sharing to iDVD, trying to burn, being told there is not enough space, then starting over with removing another clip - that is taking too long.

    Hi
on SL-single layer DVDs - about four hours on DL if Your Mac can burn them
To get even more - Roxio Toast™ - can squees in may be up to ten hours
BUT - TO a quality near not usably. Quality invers to amount of material.
    also encoding method is limiting
iDVD 08 & 09 has three levels of qualities.
iDVD 6 has the two last ones
    • Professional Quality (movies up to 120 min.) - BEST
    • Best Performances (movies less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
    • High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above

  • Increasing canvas size and re-clipping (intentionally)

    Hi,
So I bolluxed up a little bit while creating my first full-bleed print piece. I used Ps to edit the image, Ai to add some stuff, and ignored Id completely for the printer. Now I have a perfect 8.5 x 11 image that I want to print all the way to the edges without scaling; I left white bleeds 1.8" but apparently that won't suffice.
I'm trying to go back into photoshop and increase the canvas size (8.75 x 11.25 to include bleeds), and with it, extend the image that was originally clipped when I trimmed the document from a vertical picture (12 x 16 or whatever) to fit the standard letter paper size. When I do that, I get only white areas around the canvas.
Can anyone provide a solution to create full-color bleeds the way they should have been done originally? I have tried changing the canvas size and re-placing another layer of the image behind the existing one (with the hopes that it would clip automatically), but it didn't work. At this point, should I worry about bringing anything into InDesign?
    Thanks,
    - boda

There is a way to do this; unfortunately, it's not an
    automatic feature
like in Photoshop. The approach you'll need to take is to
    update the
document dimensions (basically, the canvas size) as desired,
    then use the
Edit Multiple Frames button on the lower left of the Timeline
    panel to
manually move all assets on the main timeline. To do this,
    you'll have to
make sure all layers are unlocked. To do this quickly, click
    the
Lock/Unlock All Layers button at the top, between the eye and
    the square
buttons, until you see that all locks have been removed (one
    or two clicks
will do it). In the Modify Onion Markers button next to the
    Edit Multiple
Frames button, choose Onion All. Select Edit > Select All,
    then use the
arrow buttons to move your assets.

  • What pixel size should film clips be?

I'm requesting to have some film clips sent to me, that I will be importing to a film of mine. The person I'm requesting the clips from is asking what pixel size should he send the clip to me in?
He is converting the clips from PAL into NTSC and is asking any format information he need to know before doing so.
    Should I just tell him:
    Frame rate:24
    Dimensions:640x480
    Encoding mode: Multi-pass.
These are the setting I took from quick time movies.
    Does anyone know?

You probably meant to say video not film.
If the material is DV PAL and he is converting it to DV NTSC, he should give you 720x480 29.97fps 48khz/16 bit clips.

  • Export movie shrinks size of source clips

I have a project that consists of 720X480 AVI's (24bit/uncompressed) I got it to keep the high quality by using the export/movie function as an uncompressed AVI (Microsoft AVI, no compression, 720X480, D1/DV NTSC 0.9)
The output is high resolution, which I need but the size of the video is smaller than the original. it still keeps the 720X480 size of the whole video but it's shrinks the clips. I suspect it's due to the pixel size setting. I do not get good (high quality) results by setting it at square pixels (1.0). Any suggestions?
    Is there something I'm missing?

  • Sequence size different from clip size = need to render?

    Dear All
I would like to edit DV-Pal clips (720*576) in a sequence that has identical settings except the frame size: 1440*576. The final product is then a video with the width of 2(720576).
If I drag into that sequence a clip, FCP asks me to render it. Is there a way around this (for a basic real time edit)? I lowered render options (in sequence settings) to a minimum, still it needs to render. I lowered sequence resolution to half the desired output (720*288) still it wants me to render.
I coudn't find any thread discussing this problem.
    thank you,
    Hynek

    Dear Michael
I don't intend to do a stereoscopic movie. Still I see similarities, or am I wrong.
I would like to run different clips next to each other, and sometimes I would like to stretch one clip over the whole 1440*575 canvas (of course loosing some image at the top and bottom).
The only way I found around rendering my sequence all the time, is to edit my video in a 720*576 sequence by dragging two clips in, resizing them to 50%, and putting them next to each other (each on a different track). Once I have done my edit I take each cut into the 1440*576 sequence and I scale each clip to 100 percent (with copy attributes). I have to do some repositioning of the clips on the canvas (again time can be saved with copy attributes). Then I render it all ONCE.
now is there an faster way? can I learn something from your work flow?
    greetings,
    H

  • Reduce file size of Movie Clip

My swf file is 1.3 MB. It contains a dozen 72dpi images with
alpha tweening. It is taking awhile to load. Is there a process to
follow of a free software to reduce the file size?

The proper way to reduce file size is keep your images
    external and load
    them on demand.

  • Clip Size Imported Smaller Than Original Clip

I imported a QT movie 3.69GB into iMovie and the imported movie was 650mb. I guess using iMovie all this time I just assumed that the size of the clip would be the same after importing into iMovie. Can someone tell me why the drop in file size? Thanks.

It was a clip from a DVD that I had saved at the highest quality as a QT movie no compression using Cinematize.
When I imported the clip into iMovie I used no compression 29.97 fpm, 640 by 480, and sound was stereo, 48hz, 16 bit.

  • Clip size limited to 2 Gig?

I am new to this version of Imovie '08. I know with the old Imove 3, there was a limit to the size of the clips. Is there still a 2 gig limit or 9:99minutes limit on the clip lengths in Imovie '08. I was considering purchasing the elgato 250 plus and wanted to import the vhs videos into Imovie'08 to edit them. Will I be able to edit the videos (separate clips, add music and titles) easily using Imovie '08? Some clips will be an hour or 2 by themselves. Anyone have any experiences with the Elgato 250 plus? Good? Bad?

I quickly found in my Events Library a 2.98GB clip in dv format. This clip was imported through the ElGato EyeTV hybrid in MPEG2, and then converted to DV by the EyeTV software. It was part of a longer clip, and I used the EyeTV SW to edit it into logical events.
With an Aluminum iMac, you have plenty of processing power to do the VHS import with the EyeTV Hybrid rather than the 250 Plus. The 250 Plus might work great, but I have no experience with it. I think it is targeted at older, slow machines that need to move this processing outboard. You can find the ElGato stuff inexpensively at macsales.com both new and refurbished.
It is possible to split events within iMovie as well. The trick is to reject a single frame at the point you want to split, and send the rejected frame to the trash. If you can't spare a frame, you can split before import using the EyeTV software or using Quicktime Pro.
You will also find that the ElGato will import your video with a single date (the import date), not the original analog recording date. Thus your events library for 2008 may be cluttered with events from 1988, say. My favorite solution to this issue is a program called "A Better Finder Attributes" which allows you to set the metadata on your clips so that iMovie will put the event in the right year. It is best to do this before you start editing, so the pointers wont be confused.
Although, I use the ElGato EyeTV Hybrid, it strikes me that I am introducing one extra conversion into my workflow that may result in degraded quality. The Quality is pretty good, but not as good as the original analog recording viewed on a TV. If you could find a DAC which would convert directly from Analog to DV, you could cut out the imtermediate step of MPEG2 an perhaps get better quality.
I have an old DAC, and I may hook it up to test this when I have time.
Also, some miniDV camcorders have a "pass-thru" feature that will allow you to hook up analog input and convert it to firewire DV on the back end.
    Good luck.
