Skinning/Styling adfp:portlet component while consuming portlets.
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to skin the adfp:portlet component in my portal application. However, every styling that appears in JDeveloper to take effect ( for example if I change the background color, it shows up in editor) seems to go off at runtime. This would have been an ADF forum question if the adfp:portlet was part of ADF Core components, which isn't the case. Any helpful pointer is deeply appreciated.

The first WC Application with issue is deployed to:

I'm facing problem while consuming Jive Discussion forum using Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.4
Following are the steps i followed fot this...
1) Deployed Jive-5.1.0 using OC4J WebCenter instance ( Deployed in Oracle App Server 10.1.3)
2) Integrated discussion forum Portlet with Oracle WebCenter Discussion application.
This is done by making use of deploy-jive-portlet.jar and oracle-jive-portlet.zip
3) Registration
Able to register with WSRP1 and WSRP2 .
When i try to consume this portlet, i'm getting following error on the Jdevelper Console

I can load the WSDL fine as an XML file. I can also load the WSDL fine if I connect via Firefox or a browser. I can open it fine in SoapUI. I just can't access it from my Java application.

And I have Consumed the Web Service using WSDL URL.
I need to write a code to refer that class in the JSP DynPage
I have created like this in DoIntialization
MyServiceName obj=(MyServiceName) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(MyServiceName.KEY);
int a = 10;
int b = 20;
obj.Add1(a,b);
but it shows an error
"The method Add1 Method(Add1 Method) is the type. MySErviceName is not Applicable for the arguements(int,int)"
Please Help me in this regard.

I will let u know the sequence which i followed to consume the Webservice.
NWDS --> File --> New --> Project --> Portal Application --> Create New Portal App Project.
The Project is created.....
After that i want to consume the Webservice for the same project...
for that...
NWDS --> File --> New --> Other --> Portal Application --> Create New Portal Application Object --> Selecting My Project?(intended prjct) --> Portal Webservice --> Portal Service from WSDL file - Client Side --> My WSDL URL --> Selecting the methods which i need to expose from the Webservice --> I gave unique name for my 1) Service 2) Alias 3) Package....and that was done....(other way is to add from portalapp.xml ??)
After that i created a new JSPDyn page for my application in DoInitialization() method i tried to access the method from that webservice using the following code...

I am successfully able to access the method from the webservice using the object which i have created but i am not able to pass arguments to that method...???

but the same ABAP webservice when i tried to consume its not working with this NWDS.
Is there any thing else i need to follow while consuming a webservice in the EP Perspectice of NWDS ???
Deployable Proxy is required for that ?? if required how to create and use that ??

I am using oracle soa suite 11g, while consuming an external webservice i have to add authentication in header before sending request.
I want my header in request to look like this:

Geeting error while consuming webservice from java
Issue description :
We are tried to connect to clients SAP bapi web service with Apache Axis tool ( version- axis2-1.5) and SOAP UI tool (SOAPUI3.6.1
) , we faced following error : and getting following login error failed error from SAP.
Error :
HTTP 401 - Unauthorized. Login failed. The application was running in the system QAS
It is really starange as , using the id i could log in to the system , but while consuming the service , for the same id it is giving this error.

But this file - /PortalContentBIReportsjspx_3715283e_0134_1000_8001_ac1801a53f3d.pxml exists in my local machine from where i am deploying. I have done the following things.
1) there are no spaces between my project names
2) I have also removed all unused producers from the mds folder in jdev.
I feel that the MDS folder is not getting included while deploying , not sure.
I am deploying the webcenter to a standalone WLS

I was able to resolve it, actually there was a datasource mds-owsm which was being referred in my webcenter application and it was not targeted to the managed server where I was deploying the app, So once I added the target to include this managed server, the portlet was getting identified and getting consumed in my application.
Quick question here I need to integrated BI presentation service in my webcenter, what will be the best way to do it and go about it?I had found an artcile in oracle docs but it is not working for me.Please suggest some better ways of doing this integration.

Error while consuming secured portlets

We have the following usecase:
- Producer - One taskflow which is given to anonymous role. Converted this task-flow to a portlet.
- Consumer - We need to consume this portlet in another ADF application which is unsecured.
Steps done:
1) Created an ADF application with this taskflow and converted to portlet.
2) Created a consumer application.
3) In the consumer app, created a WSRP connection for this portlet (to register the producer).
- In the "Configure Security Attributes" in the WSRP portlet producer wizard, we have selected the following:
- Token Profile: WSS 1.0 SAML Token with Message Protection
- Configuration: Default
- Default user: anonymous
4) Drag and drop the portlet on the consumer page and run.
With this i am encountering the following exception:

I've deployed 11.1.1.6.0 and applied patch 14361677.
I've deployed my portlet to a custom portal and using EM, attached the WSS 1.0 SAML Token with Message Protection Service policy. I registered the WRSP portlet and specified WSS 1.0 SAML Token with Message Protection under the security section.
The portlet works fine in composer - it's when I save the page that I am finding problems.
Once I saved the page and try to stress test the portlet (i.e., press the button twice for instance), an error page is displayed indicating a time out.
If I navigate to another page and return to my page, the portlet does not render.
When I log out of WebCenter, the exception described in your post is thrown.
It would be great if Oracle provided documentation we are looking for. -

I’ve set ADF Security for my Portlet Application following the steps below:
Create an Enterprise Role ‘Participante’. (The authenticated user has this group 'Participante' in LDAP)
Create an Application Role ‘participante-role’ and map to the enterprise role ‘Participante’.
Assign ‘participante-role’ to Web Page or Task Flow in Resources Grants.
Those steps work well when I am using Task Flows. If I use Portlets based on Page instead of Task Flow, the security does not work.
I have already tested the second option (create a guest user). The problem here is that the user has the authenticated-role associated to it.

Problems skinning/styling ComboBox component
So the first image is the design brief, and below it is my attempt so far. Some ways to go, and the limitations and scarce documentation of this process is getting to me. So i'm putting a call out to see if anyone's well across this process and could assist, or step me through it?
been a while since i skinned a component in AS2, and I remember I prefered to write my own components rather than go through this process at the time. but i am hoping to use the built-in Flash component this time.
So what I need help with is:
Adjust scrollbar scrubber and track width, hopefully add padding around scrubber, and hopefully this would resolve the issue of losing the scrubber's black border on the right.
Resolve issues with the combo-button (what's that white border doing there?)
Style font correctly in combo-button
Increase list row height
Add dotted line between list rows
(I'm ignoring the blue numbers)
If anyone can help with even just one of those issues, i'd love to hear from you.

Error while consuming web service in portal component
Hi All,
I am working on a portal application which uses web services in portal component via web service.
I have tested the web service and then creted a relevant portal service to it .When using this portal service in the portal component and running it Im getting the following run time error

I did not use any ume attributes or ume api methods in the portal component .
I have also added sharingreference= portalserviceapplication name in deploymentdescriptor of the portal application which has the portal component.

I have given the proxy settings in the com.sap.portal.ivs.httpservice in the portal and also
defined a proxy server in the Visual Administrator under Services -> Webservice Container -> HTTP Proxy Server
I am calling service in the following manner.

I am still having the same problem, however the scenario in which I am getting varies.
I am getting this exception:
"com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: IOError while working with the message."
Some users when trying to login into the portal are getting blank screen and for some the portal launcher page is loading fine and could go to the Home Page.
When I view the logs I am seeing the Nested Soap Exception.
Any Ideas??? Starting the J2EE engine also did'nt help.
