Sky mobile TV app

Hello, I have recently been in touch with sky regarding problems with my sky mobile TV app on my iPhone 6, ios 9. I only get a little area of my screen working with this app, when I contacted sky and reported this I got told someone would be in touch with me about it between 48/72 hours, however I have had 2 missed calls one on the same day and another before 48hours whilst at work, if that is sky getting back to me thank you that was a very quick response, however you haven't yet been back in touch or emailed me with your findings, I'm pretty gutted about this as I would like to use the app to watch football. Please sky let me know what's going on? Thanks

  • Connecting Sky Mobile TV app to TV.

    I downloaded the Sky Mobile TV application to my 3rd generation iPod Touch with the intention of playing the sport on my tv using an Apple Compositive AV cable.
    My issue is this:
    If i play a movie etc i can play it through my tv so i know its not where i connected the cable. But when i play the SMtv application, only the sound comes up on the screen. No video.
    Any suggestions?

  • Sky Mobile App Latest Up date

    Up till the latest update the Sky mobile worked well on my iphone. However on 4 Feb Sky updated this app and since then the info and channel icons on loading page & programe info are missing. Looking at the Reviews I am not alone, as it appears that there is a problem with this update on iphone using OS 3.1.3 (as my iphone is a early model I can not download a later version.
    Unfortunanly as I did a back up to my computer I can not revert to older version of this app, therefore dose any one know of a way to get the previous version back.
    Also though I have hered that Sky say that will do a further update to fix this problem it has now been 3 weeks and nothing has happened dose any know when this might happen
    The way things are I do not see why I should continue paying £8 a month for app that dose not work right, so unless it is fixed by when this months sub runs out I will unsubsribe (I have already stopped the auto resub), untill either sky fix the problem or I have saved enough, (using the £8 a month I am not paying scy to get a ipod OS4

    I also have the same problem and have been told by Sky that this functionality is not available in the upgraded app and that I can not revert to the old one! Very very frustrating... Have you got the upgraded app - if so, interesting that you mention it works sometimes as that suggests functionality does exist...?

    Ok, I'm so close to giving up with this useless phone. There are 3 apps on my N97 which give me a constant headache.
    BBC iPlayer
    Sky Mobile*
    YouTube
    *I should point out that I only use Sky Mobile to set recordings on my Sky+. I do not use it for, nor have any desire to use it for actually watching Mobile TV.
    All of these apps work absolutely fine over my home WiFi network. It's when I try to use them over 3G (my Vodafone Live! connection) that I start running in to trouble.
    All 3 give me connection problems, errors, and simply refuse to load half the time when on 3G. I got so annoyed I just did a hard reset the other week, and magically all three started working again. However, now 2 of them are failing me again. YouTube (touch wood) is working fine at the moment, but iPlayer and Sky Mobile just aren't.
    iPlayer sometimes works. But sometimes I get script errors (unable to load content), and sometimes it says something about checking my connection settings. I wouldn't mind but it's not actually possible to access any options for the iPlayer. Even in application settings there are no options you're able to set.
    Sky Mobile simply flat out refuses to work ever on 3G. But it did after I did a hard reset for a couple of weeks, now it just stopped working! It wont even load. It just gives the error message 'Unable to connect to network - please check connection settings" or something along those lines.
    I've tried so many different things. Tried setting my internet connections to 'always ask', tried setting it to default to Vodafone Live! all the time, tried setting my video streaming settings to WAP, all sorts. Every combination I can think of.
    I just can't wait to get rid of this phone. I've put so many people off buying one. They see it and think it's all swish and cool, and I just say 'Don't. You'll regret it'. I can't wait for my contract to be up so I can upgrade to an iPhone now Vodafone have got them.
    Can anyone help with these problems? Thanks in advance, but I don't hold out much hope...

    About iPlayer.
    Have a chat with Vodaphone. Streaming iPlayer over 3G IS allowed on Vodaphone contract, unlike my O2 contract. As long as your contract allows it, and you have the correct AP address, it should be fine. Vodaphone should be able to give you the setting.
    Mine only works over Wlan.
    FWIW, "... streaming over 3G is not currently available on iPhone handsets on any mobile network".
    p.s. Just to be clear. You say  "Tried setting my internet connections to 'always ask', tried setting it to default to Vodafone Live!".
    iPlayer uses the Nokia browser "Web". So that's where you should make the setting "Ask when needed". It should then offer you the choice of whatever you've set in Destinations> Internet> then select whatever you've chosen as your GPRS connection.(as advised, or sent to you by Vodaphone).

    Just got the n97 mini and cant connect to sky mobile.My internet works and bbc iplayer works but the app for sky mobile fails to connect. I got told by a lad in phones 4 u that he had the same problem on his x6,that some times it works and other times it does not.my subscription shows i have the tv package but even with all the right connections will not connect.
                   Can anyone help before i throw it out the window.

    sigh If only....but imagine the uproar from the digi subscribers.
    Having said that, I use the app practically every other night and is well worth it.

    From your iPad, simply open up the "App Store" and select the "Purchased" tab, which is the second icon from the right on the bottom within the App Store. There will be a list of all of the apps you have downloaded. Navigate throughout this list until you find the app.

    Does anyone know if the Sky mobile application will be developed on the N900?  very handy app particularly for those in the UK that had a sky box.

    The N900 is not very DRM friendly and its user base is far too small for sky to be dealing with..
    I would be stunned if it were even on their radar!
    Maybe Maemo6 might interest them as they might be able to protect their content.. but in the mean time, it's probably a no go for them

    and here was me thinking that a lack fo DRM is a good thing..
    I use a 2001 Tivo with my sky box.. think sky+ but it's from 2001!!! The great thing is, my N900 (and other media players such as my Archos 705) sync with my Tivo via wifi.. so when I get home, new tv shows get uploaded.. It's custom software, but it beats the **bleep** out of DRM catastrophes!!
    I look forward to Virgin's plan to re-introducing the Tivo to the UK some time this year after some 9 years away!

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Unable to use FiOS Mobile Remote App on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

    I'm one of the holdout Blackberry customers who Verizon doesn't recognize as wanting apps anymore.  I finally broke down and bought an Android tablet device when I saw the FiOS Mobile Remote App and recognized it as an easy solution for controling my multiple HD STBs in my "Man Cave".  Unfortunately, the app has been completely useless.
    The app loads fine.  I'm able to register each HD STB with the app, however doing anything more than the initial set-up for the remote function results in a crash.  Every time I attempt to use it, I get the message "Unfortunately, FiOS Remote has stopped."  I will occassionally see the attempted connection displayed on the corner of my TV screen.
    All other functions of the app work, including the DVR function.
    I've reported this failure for months, using the handy little report button below the crash message.  No response.
    I've commented on this topic in threads from other users with the same problem.  No response.
    I've posted to the comments section of the Google Play store.  No response.
    Please, would someone from Verizon acknowledge this problem exists?  My best theory so far is that my tablet device is not on a Verizon data plan (WiFi only), so therefore Verizon isn't interested in supporting it (or this loyal customer). 
    Device is Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 7.0, running Android 4.0.4.  All FiOs STBs replaced with latest generation.

    I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are having with the app. We try to make the app as compatible with all devices as possible. The full list of devices the mobile remote is compatible with is https://www22.verizon.com/OnDemand/unprotected/AboutFlexView.aspx   . You may find there may be devices that do work with it that re not on the list, but these are all verified working devices with the app. Since yours doesn't appear to be on the list, we can not gaurantee it will work. Submitting all the feedback has gotten word back to Verizon about the troubles you are having. You can also submit this to the Verizon Idea Exchange. Please search on the idea exchange and cast your vote. There may be another member who made the same suggestion.     You can't view applications on a television, only video.

  • Cant add Competitors on Mobile Phone App CRM 2015

    I'm currently configuring the mobile phone app for CRM 2015 online.
    The issue i'm having is that i cant seem to add competitors, either directly or to an existing Lead or Opportunity. Although the entity appears in the lead and opportunity records, it only shows already added competitors (which were added via the browser
    or tablet app). I don't seem to have the option to add new competitors within the mobile phone app as the little "+" symbol at the top of the form is not present.
    I have the competitors entity enabled for the mobile phone app and tablet app. the tablet app works fine.
    I've also noticed that competitors entity appears on the tablet home page navigation but not on the mobile home page.
    Any suggestions?

    I recently purchased the Composite AV Cable from the Apple store after being informed that if a video is being played on the iPhone then that video will be displayed on whatever the AV cables are plugged into. I am havng trouble with running Sky Mobile TV and being able to view it on my TV.
    Does anyone have any info about this?

    Cant do that mate, can only play YouTube, Videos stored on your iPhone and view pictures taken on your phone. I tried this also lol.

  • Mobile hotspot app not working on Droid Charge

    My mobile hotspot app stopped working today. When I click on the app the screen flashes for a second then nothing happens. I get the same result when going to settings, wireless network, mobile hotspot. It's like the link to the app is broken or the app is gone. I have removed the battery and restarted several times with no luck.
    How do I reinstall the app or fix this?

    WOW! I just changed the date to May and Boom hotspot works. Is that a joke? VZWsupport wrote me on twitter saying their top engineers have it listed as an open issue still.... I'm not a programer or developer by any means but you would think that if the hotspot works fine with the date changed wouldn't overriding or rewriting that part of the software be fairly easy for a big company like Verizon????
