SLA Rate configuration in OCSG

Hi,
OCSG provides Traffic control for its communication services using SLA Rate and quota. In SLA we can set transaction rate Tx/msec for perticular method (ex. SendSMS etc.) or for entire service. Suppose we set transaction rate as 5/60000 (ie 5 tx/minute) then it should not allow more than 5 transaction in one minute. If you set higher rate in your duration test for incoming message you will find that it will give you few Policy denied exception and then passes few message and again gives few exception and so on. I mean it allows more than 5 tx in one minute. Accoridng to Oracle, it is sue to Budget sercvice and it is configurred accoring to this logic. Can anyone please explain this in more clarity. If any case we allow more than 5 Tx/Minute. How we can promise to operators that SPs will not use transaction rates defined more than defined in SLA. It should not allow more than defined in the SLA. In earlier verions of WLNG (OCSG) it was working fine.

This is how the budget service/SLA enforcement works:
If you define an SLA with rate control as x sms/y sec. From the time first request is sent, budget starts to diminish. At this point budget will be x-1. Say you've sent another request after n seconds, then it would be (x-2) + x*(y/n) or x whichever is higher. This x*(y/n) is added to the budget, because during those n seconds.
Since it is hard to define an interval in absolute time, budget service is designed this way to properly control the flow.

  • Exchange rate configuration

What are configuration settings required for exchange rate. If am buying someting in $. PL. explain me step by step with all conf.
    Regards

    Hi,
You have to maintain the Exchange values from currency to  To currency.
To do this , you have to maintain that in the configuration,  goto transaction code OB08
Enter the EXCHANGE RATE as M ( if you want to maintain the exchange rates monthly)
Valid from date , from which date the exchange rate should valid
Indirect quoted exchange rate as USD value like 47,000
    and From currency = INR
    please check and revert back

  • Rates Configuration Question

    Hi Gurus
To configure the Rates it is necessary to update under these 2 Config Option:
SPRO -> IMG -> Collaboration Projects -> Connection to External Systems ->
Accounting Integration -> Define Cost/Revenue Rates
    (Replicate to ERP)
SPRO -> IMG -> Integration with other mySap.com Componenents
-> Collaboration Projects -> Controlling -> Assign Cost Elements and Activity Types
Would anyone be able to explain why 2 functions are needed, I can only assume that updates in differing areas of SAP are occurring.
Would really appreciate some clarification on this.
    Many Thanks
    Panduranga

    Hi
Earlier (R3 4.6c time) cProjects and xRPM was on separate server. Hence there were no objects of Controlling or Financials.
Hence the cost revenue rates and org unit etc were stored in cProjects server and then the data was replicated to FICO system.
Hence that Replicate node is required.
Still some org are using this landscape even if they have upgraded to ECC.
So SAP must have kept the process same.
Here to achieve this in system where ECC itself has cProjects/xRPM, while using replicate node, use RFC as NONE (case sensetive)

  • FI and Billing Rate configuration

Question Deleted. Posted in next thread.
Edited by: ABAP Programmer on Sep 18, 2009 9:45 AM

    HI,
You may need to use something other than 0010 or 0020 as a sub transaction in DST CST field in the rates. 0010/0020 are special subs used internally in the programs to roll up all the consumption billing charges into one receivable. Hence, use something other than that.
Let meknow if you have any questions.

  • Configure IP SLA to generate syslog messages

    Hi,
I want to use IP SLA to perform simple up/down monitoring of an IP host and to generate a syslog alert if the host goes down.
I have a 2650XM router running 12.4(23) IP Voice IOS.
My basic IP SLA config is hown below:

    frequency 10
ip sla monitor schedule 10 life forever start-time now

    Hello Hitesh:
My name is Rogelio; I am a technician located in Argentina. I am experiencing quite the same problem mentioned in this thread.
Actually, I just see the trap sent ONCE (more preciselly, when the IP SLA object starts and times out in reaching the objective). ¿Is this the expected behavior?
I want the trap be sent (either SNMP or SYSLOG style) EVERY TIME the IP SLA object times out with the target. ¿ is it possible? The following is my basic configuration:
    ip sla 2
    icmp-echo 141.167.85.153
    threshold 1500
    frequency 15
ip sla schedule 2 life forever start-time now
ip sla reaction-configuration 2 react timeout threshold-type immediate action-type trapOnly
    logging trap debugging
    logging source-interface Loopback0
    logging 141.167.121.222
    snmp-server enable traps syslog
    snmp-server enable traps ipsla
snmp-server host 141.167.121.222 mycommunity  syslog ipsla
Your help will be greatly appreciated

I don't see any snmp message in debug output ..
am i missing something or it is not possible to get traps directly from ip sla .. do i need EEM for this?

sorry, it actually worked .. i just gave a restart to ip sla and it worked.
looks like router was already in threshold stage when i was activating reaction-config ..
but i am still confused which command is actualluy generating these traps since i have taken out some of the snmp config out and i stil get traps ..

I am trying to generate a trap based on sla breach on a IOS XE router.  What MIB could I use?
Here is the config from the router:

    ip sla 1
    icmp-echo 50.232.60.177 source-interface GigabitEthernet0/0/3

    Hi,
You can configure the IP SLA Reaction configuration & generate the traps based on many conditions, you can choose whatever suits you.
Example Configuring an IP SLAs Reaction Configuration
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/ipsla/configuration/15-mt/sla-15-mt-book/sla_threshold_mon.html#GUID-A459B9AF-188D-4676-9876-19993266B32A
Example Configuring an IP SLAs Reaction Configuration
In the following example, IP SLAs operation 10 is configured to send an SNMP logging trap when the MOS value either exceeds 4.9 (best quality) or falls below 2.5 (poor quality):
    Device(config)# ip sla reaction-configuration 10 react mos threshold-type immediate threshold-value 490 250 action-type trapOnly
The following example shows the default configuration for the ip sla reaction-configuration command:
    Device# show ip sla reaction-configuration 1
    Entry number: 1
    Reaction Configuration not configured
    Router# configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
    Router(config)# ip sla reaction-configuration 1
    Router(config)# do show ip sla reaction-configuration 1
    Entry number: 1
    Reaction: rtt
    Threshold Type: Never
    Rising (milliseconds): 5000
    Falling (milliseconds): 3000
    Threshold Count: 5
    Threshold Count2: 5
    Action Type: None

  • IP SLA Alert

    Hi,
I have configured IP SLA to monitor the remote peer ip address sucessfully with icmp. Below is the configuration :-
    ip sla 1
    icmp-echo 192.168.10.1 source-interface Loopback1
    timeout 1000
    threshold 2
    frequency 3
ip sla schedule 1 life forever start-time now
track 101 ip sla 1 reachability
IP SLA works fine. Now i want configure IP SLA in such a way that the failover happens only if there are 5 to 10 timeouts on the link and in such case there should be an alert generated via logging or snmp. Can any one help on this?

Yes, its possible to  configure the failover in such a way that it will happen only if there are 5 to 10 min timeouts on the link.
For this you have to define the track command and also defined the delay up time and down time. This delay up and delay down is the settings that will wait upto  specific time before making changeover happen that will provide stability to your track and it will save the failover from flapping too much if there are slightly one or 2 ip sla operations failed event will expected in network.
So for example under track 101 ip sla 1 reachability command --> you can define delay up 3 down 10
This wlll change the failover happen only when the operation keep up for 3 seconds and and also make the failover happen when the ip sla operation will remain down for 10 seconds.
For more information and options, here is the reference guide for the same :-
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipapp/configuration/guide/ipapp_eot.html#wp1055209
Now the next part is to get an alert for the failover happen, you can configure trap like this
ip sla reaction-configuration 1 react timeout threshold-type immediate action-type trapOnly
The above command will generate the trap the moment threshold had been exceeded. There had been lot more trap that you can configure as per the requirements, kindly have a look at this nice document here :-

  • IP SLA EEM Combination Pt3

    Hi Community,
I have made some modifications myself to the EEM. Can someone please take a look at the following IP SLA - EEM combination and let me know why it won't work?
    ip sla 102
    icmp-echo 180.80.8.4 source-ip 180.80.8.3
    request-data-size 24
    tos 30
    timeout 60000
    threshold 200
    owner NetFlow
ip sla schedule 102 life forever start-time pending ageout 60
ip sla reaction-configuration 102 react timeout threshold-type immediate
    ip sla enable reaction-alerts
    event manager applet ISPCheck
    event ipsla operation-id 102 reaction-type timeout
action 1.0 if $_ipsla_condition eq Occurred
    action 2.0  cli command "enable"
    action 3.0  info type routername
action 4.0  cli command "show ip int brief"
action 5.0  mail server "150.50.5.2" to "[email protected]" from "[email protected]" subject "Internet Gateway Down on: $_info_routername" body "$_cli_result"
    action 6.0 else
action 7.0  syslog msg "Primary Internet Circuit UP"
action 8.0  mail server "150.50.5.2" to "[email protected]" from "[email protected]" subject "Internet Gateway UP on: $_info_routername" body "$_cli_result"
    action 9.0 end
    Cheers
    Carlton

What about it doesn't work?  Is the policy not triggering?  Is the IPSLA operation not transitioning state?

  • IP SLA Proactive xofy bug

    Hi All,
Has anyone came across this weird bug that when you configure ip sla in proactive with xofy, it will generate two syslog messages?
Here is how I am using it:
    ip sla reaction-configuration 3 react rtt threshold-value 100 70 threshold-type xofy 2 5 action-type triggerOnly
Mar  5 10:27:06.976: %RTT-3-IPSLATHRESHOLD: IP SLAs(3): Threshold below for rtt
Mar  5 10:27:06.980: %RTT-3-IPSLATHRESHOLD: IP SLAs(3): Threshold below for rtt
And therefore, causing EEM to act twice ..which is a memory/cpu waste.
    Mar  5 10:26:47.516: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by vty1
    Mar  5 10:26:47.620: %SYS-5-CONFIG_I: Configured from console by vty2
Using average or immediate works just fine.
One more thing ..i'm not sure if I understood 'average' , does it mean that if you have it configured for 5 attempts , you for example get a failure today, and the other day another 4 failures then it will trigger?
    Here is my IOS:

    Thanks

The same results comes from c871 and c1811 too.

  • Travel Expenses Configuration

    Hello,
I have a requirement from my client pertaining to the configuration of Travel expenses module in SAP.  It goes like this.  From the start date of the travel, there has to be a DA to be given to the employee based on the various travel groupings.  This DA slab is given on a day basis splittable into 12hr slab as well, i.e., if an employee takes a business trip morning 6 and comes back by 6 the same day evening and his per day eligibility is say 5000, then he can claim 2500 and not more than that.  The system has to throw an error message saying that he cannot claim more than 2500.
I tried to use the maximum rate configuration node, which is giving the error message based on the number of days and not based on hours.
Can anyone please help me in how to go about solving this requirement?

    Hi,
You have to use per-diems for this.
Look into  SPRO - Financial Accounting (New)--Travel management - Tarvel Expenses -Trip Reimbursement Amounts-Reimbursement Amounts for Meals -Reimbursement Amounts for Meals/Hours.

  • SLA and traffic light in CRM_DNO_MONITOR

    Dear Service Desk gurus.
1)In CRM_DNO_MONITOR where are traffic light and corresponding column "Valid to". How does the traffic color and "Valid to" date are calculated?
Is it customizable and connect to message Priority?
    2) When SLA is configured for support desk, Are there any reports  or light/alerts for message, that were not processed according to SLA rules?
    Regards
    Vladimir

    Hi,
Field in the transaction monitor for traffic light function at transaction level. Calculation is based on the corresponding time stamp. The traffic light function is determined via the date type SRV_CUST_END for the transaction header.
    Thx,
    Waseem.
