Slideshow export option plugin?

Does anyone know of a plugin to change the format of Slideshow export from mp4 to DVD format? Currently, I am converting the mp4's through DVD Flick, which works fine. It is just antoher step to do. It would be nice to just export it this way.

  • Slideshow Export options and AppleTV

Slideshow options seem a nice way to create a quick video of still/video clips (eg for an AppleTV), but unless I'm missing something Export options seem rather limited.
There isn't enough control over encoding parameters.
My first attempt exporting a mix of photos and video clips (30fps source) using the AppleTV setting failed to sync to AppleTV.
Inspecting the file, resolution was 720p but the reported fps was 28fps. That is too high for AppleTV which officially only handles 24fps at 720p but will usually cope with 25fps. Bitrate was also fairly high, nearly 5Mbps the quoted AppleTV limit for h264.
Now I'm not wild about changing fps for video conversion anyway, but I would like to compare the 720p output vs the '540p' option we often opt for to maintain fps with 30fps source material.
Custom dropdown gives very little in the way of options I can see, and codecs are limited to h264/MPEG4 - people might in some circumstances want to export at full quality to add to projects in other apps with greater editing control.
Any idea if you can export with more customisation of parameters?

Aperture 3.0.3 has an option for iPod size through HD 1080p
    As has iPhoto 09
as well as a Custom Export feature, which allows you to choose the Codec
It allows you to choose between 2: Mpeg 4 and h.264. iPhoto can export to anything that QuickTime will support: including - and by no means limited it to - Apple Intermediate, HDV, DV, uncompressed and so on. There are 50 or so codecs I can choose from with iPhoto.
    Uploaded with Skitch!
    /Frame Rate/Width/Height
    As can iPhoto.
As I said, this is odd. You would expect Aperture to have the more options.

  • Iphoto 9.5.1 no codec (mov) slideshow exporting option

    Hi All,
When exporting slideshow to .mov, I can't find exporting options. However, I can choose resolution BUT NOT codec/framerate!
It was implemented on previous versions, but not here on 9.5.X
As I see, Iphoto always exports h.264 at 30fps.
Trying to export .mov on PRORES at 25fps.... no options??
    any ideas?
    Many thanks!

These options were removed at v9.5
    Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie is on every Mac sold.
    Others, in order of price:
    PhotoPresenter  $29
    PhotoToMovie  $49.95
    PulpMotion  $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
    Final Cut Pro X $299
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

  • Slideshow export options

    Dear Adobe Lightroom folk,
I find the Slideshow module is very useful to allow me to watermark my images, add a file or ref number to each page & Brand my work.
As I am now creating DVD slideshows by utilising other adobe products,
I would really love to have an option to export in an uncompressed file format such as TIFF which will improve my final DVD image quality immensly.
This must be possible as I can export to tiff in other modules.
But I want the fuctionality of my first statement to work too.
So what do you say Adobe folk?
Keep up the good work & I'd love to see this feature please.
    Thanks
    Daryl

Is it possible to export a slide show in pdf having both a watermark such as © and also your own identity plate such as " name photography".
Anyone know if it is possible?
if not please put it in one of the upgrade, i mean having only © watermark is not enough you need also to put your identity plate in the slide show

  • Is Quicktime the only slideshow export format option?

I'm to give a presentation this Thursday night (2-24-2011) in Mac Powerpoint format that will incorporate someone else's [short] presentation. However, I just found out that this person used iPhoto's Slideshow feature but wants to be able to stop and start using my laser pointer w built-in slide control.
He has about 90 photos/slides or else I'd have simply told him to just export each photo as a low-rez jpeg. I've never used the slideshow feature in iPhoto so I'm wondering if there's another export option that doesn't require the actual app, Quicktime format, or exporting 90 images?

You can only export as a QuickTime Movie or as 90 discreet images.

  • IPhoto/iDVD Slideshow Software Options?

I have been unhappy with the resultant quality of slideshows that I have created in iPhoto and exported ('shared') with iDVD. The iPhoto quality is outstanding but I find significant quality degradation in iDVD in terms of clarity and smoothness of Ken Burns effect motion. This poor quality carries-over to the iDVD burned DVD-R.
Does anyone have recommendations for alternate slideshow software options that produce clear, crisp and smooth motion slideshow DVDs?
    Message was edited by: MikeyM

Have you asked over in the iDVD forum also? Any DVD authoring program will not be as sharp as what you see in iPhoto or on your computer because all media is reduced to 720 x 540 pixels. The same goes for videos. Smaller videos are scaled up and that's where you can lose image quality.
The two links below are to Apple KB documents on preparing stills and videos for iDVD.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6732.html
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6675.html
Photo to Movie has received good reports in this forum. When using the KB effect you need to use the largest image available. Not so much with just still photos. As far as videos with motion you did use the Professional Quality setting, right?
In finishing up the iDVD project are you saving it as a disk image first? Then you can check the encoding by playing it with DVD Player before burning. Burn to disc with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Missing metadata after slideshow export

I love to show some metadata - like a description - within exportet JPGs. That way they are visible on any device used to present the pictures. As far as I found out this is only possible by doing a slideshow export (watermarks unfortunately can not pull information out of the metadata fields). But all the exported JPGs are missing all metadata, so I can not even sort them automatically later in other software solutions.
Any idea how I could both show the description field within/under the picture and do not loose all metadata information within the exported files?

    Sorry, I misunderstood.
Looks like you cannot have both metadata in EXIF and metadata as text overlays on the image, without using a third-party plugin.

  • Where can I find explanations for all the export options?

[ Re-posting this from the iPhoto & iDVD branches ]
When I export a slideshow in iPhoto 9, choose 'Custom export' and then hit the 'Options' button, a dialog pops up with Video & Sounds options that can further be explored. In the Video section, I can click on the 'Settings' button, amongst others, to reveal lots of things that can be tweaked (Compressor Type, Motion, Data Rate & Compressor).
Where can I find help and explanations of what all these settings do, when to change them, why they should be changed, to what values and what effects these all have on the overall output?
Apple has a user manual for FCE4 on their web-site and I recognise some of these iPhoto slideshow export settings from similar dialog boxes from within FCE4. Does a user manual for iPhoto 9 exist also? I can't find it on Apple's web-site.
It has been suggested to me that these are all standard QT settings/options - hence the re-post to this forum.

It's always been up to each user to find all of the "hidden gems" in any OS software. Most of us experiment, test, try, fail and try again with all the options. Along the way we learn what works, what doesn't. I've played, poked and prodded QuickTime Pro for the last ten years and even wrote a "book" about it. I have over 200 bookmarks to resources and links that help me sort things out.
    Onto some answers:
    1. on your list is actually a three part question. Since you probably can't burn a true "HD" DVD we'll leave that part out.
You can easily "share" your iPhoto files with iDVD and burn in SD 16:9 format. You need to learn nothing about the compression options as iDVD will do all of the work. The Web based file formats (from the same source file) are an easy "trick" in QuickTime Pro.
QuickTime Pro includes an export option "Export for Web" that will make up to 4 "versions" of your source file and even write the html code for you to copy/paste into your Web pages. It creates up to 4 versions (iPhone, iPod, Desktop and cell phone) with just one export and writes html page code that can "read" your connected visitors "speed" to serve up just the right file for the device.
Your number 2 question is answered by your SD DVD media device. Can't make a sow's ear into a silk purse. But you could use QuickTime Pro export options to create a "true" HD file and display it on your HD TV. If your HD TV includes HDMI connections (and all should) you could either connect your camera directly to the TV (via cables) to display the "raw" video captures or use iTunes (free) application to export HD video to an appliance like Apple TV.
My "book" (a downloadable PDF) does include an explanation about nearly all of the QuickTime available codecs but it's probably not needed for your particular workflow. The built-in preset exports are all you probably need to use.
Compression type = file format (AVI, MP3, MOV, etc.).
Motion = frame rate allows you to change the source frame rate to meet the restrictions of your delivery media (nearly always adjusted to reduce file size for Web delivery). E.G source is 30 fps and delivery is 15 fps (reduces file size).
Key frames = "special" frames of the video that either "predict" or "optimize" for the delivery media format. The Export for Web feature of QuickTime Pro defaults should be all you need.
Quality slider = is "optional" but usually defaults to "medium". In most cases this is best left at the default setting.
Dimensions = file size dimensions. Well crafted, H.264 video codec QuickTime files will look very good when displayed at up to twice the file export dimension. This means you can display a Web based 640X480 file at "Full Screen" size (display resolution) without much degradation of video quality. Older codecs will not look as good when doubled in size.
Preserve Aspect ratio = just what it says. Widescreen source = widescreen display.
    De-interlace source = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinterlacing
Hope this helps you sort things out.
Data rate = the amount of compression (data limit)

  • **PLEASE HELP** SLideshow export

    Hello APPLE,
it seems many people are having problems with EXPORTing and just working with slideshow .... great idea let's just make it work.
MY Problem, I created a great slideshow in iPhoto and now I want to post it in iWeb how there is not an export to iWeb options? Or why can't I create the sameone in iWeb using the scrapbook option and sync it with my music???????????????????????

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I created a great slideshow in iPhoto and now I want to post it in iWeb how there is not an export to iWeb options?
    You'll need to ask Apple.
Or why can't I create the sameone in iWeb using the scrapbook option and sync it with my music?
    You'll need to ask Apple.
Exporting from iPhoto creates a QuickTime Movie. Use that with iWeb.
There are two ways to create a slideshow in iPhoto.
Pressing the Play button will make a quick and dirty slideshow of whatever you're looking at - this album, event, whatever. However this method has no built-in export option.
To create a Slideshow for export click on the '+' button lower left and select Slideshow
This will bring the Slideshow Toolbar to the fore and you can make all the decisions and choices you prefer for the show. Then, click on the Export button on the Slideshow Toolbar will give you the much enhanced export options in iPhoto 09.
You appear to have a stuck key on your keyboard.

  • IPhoto slideshow export movie size

A while ago I created a slideshow in iPhoto and then used the Share/Export command to create a .mov file. I then imported this into iDVD and everything worked fine. However, I wanted to edit the photos in the slideshow so I made the modifications in iPhoto and did the same Share/Export option to create the .mov file. However when I import this into iDVD I get black bars and the top and bottom of the screen.
I chave checked the information on the old and new .mov files, the old one which displays correctly in iDVD has a size of 720 x 540 pixels. The new one is 720 x 480 pixels.
Can anyone tell me how I can create a .mov file in iPhoto with a pixel size of 720 x 540, I can't seem to do it any more, however I have done it once before.
I am using iMovie5 and iDVD5, the only change I can think of between making the two .mov files is an OS X update a few weeks ago.
    Many thanks in advance.

I get black bars and the top and bottom of the screen.
Does the slideshow display the same on the monitor in iPhoto as it did the first time? The reason I ask is the problems in this thread:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1378924#1378924. Very strange behavior between two seemingly identically sized image files.
Is this after burning to disk and playing on a TV set? With the overscan issue with TVs having the bars on the top and bottom probably will not show on the TV and may allow even more of the video to show in the final product. I tried a test slideshow, 720x480 in both a PAL project and NTSC and they both show the bars in the preview mode. However the same slideshow Shared directly to iDVD does not display the black bars. It gets saved to the Movie folder and it's size is 720 x 540. So you may want to do a direct Share to iDVD instead of export to QT first.
Also you might burn both on a disk and see what they show as on the TV. The smaller one may lose less to overscan than the large version. Good luck.

  • What is the best export option for a slide show made with Premiere Pro?

I have just made a slide show, 3 minutes, some music and 3 slides.
I exported it for youtube with 10fps.
The file ended up with 35 Mb.
Isnt there an export option that allows less fps resulting in a much smaller file size?

What frame size are you exporting to?
There is likely a way to get it a little smaller. I will play around with it and see what I can come up with.
Post a screen shot of your export settings. We might be able to spot a problem.
Edit: Well, at 1920X1080 a 3 minute slide show starts to fall apart at less than 30MB or so. The bitrate drops to the point where the images are not clear. Anything under about 1Mbps is just too noisy. I used H.264. There might be a better choice for slideshows.

  • Create Custom Premiere Pro CC Export-Controller Plugins conflict.

I create two Premiere Pro CC Plugins, they are created based on the Adobe SDK of Export-Controller project.
I have confirmed the two plug-ins 'BundleIdentifier', 'BundleExecutable' and 'BundleName', they are different.
The two plug-ins have the independent xib files but those xib files' contents are the same. And they have the same workflow.
Now the problem I meet is, when I click the plug-in B, it will show the plugin-A's window. And according to the log, the plug-in B is also launch.
I think they are conflict with each other.
Very appreciate someone can help me. Or talk about the workflow that Premiere load the plug-in is great too.
    Iris,
    Thanks

I'm not familiar with Batch List exports, and I don't know of a way to export metadata as a CSV or other file adapted to Excel. The way I know to export metadata is as follows
Select clip in PPro's Project panel
    File>Export>Media
in the Export Settings dialog, click the Media button
in the Metadata Export dialog, set Export Option to Create Sidecar Fiie.
In the Output File Metadata section, select the properties in your custom schema that you want to include (and deselect any others that you don't want)
Click Okay to close Metadata Export and proceed to encode.
If you change the extension from .xmp to .xml, you'll be able to open the file in any text editor--including Excel, but not in a tabular view.

  • Automator export option?

I've got like 20 movies i want to export for the iphone, but the only option in automator is for ipod or appletv. anybody know how to get an iphone export option in there?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
But invariable, the smaller picture, in full size, is not smooth, and you can see all the pixels.
By full size do you mean at it's pixel dimensions or enlarged to fill the iPhoto window? When you resize a photo via the Export menu option you're taking the image and reducing the pixels for each dimension by half. If you display that new image at its new size it will look good. If you display that same image full screen or at a size larger than the actual pixel dimensions it will look pixelated and jaggy. You can't take an 800 x 600 pixel image and display it at the same size, say a frame in an iPhoto book, and have it look as good as the original 1600 x1200 pixel file. (If this is not what you're referring to then this post will self destruct in 5 seconds Mr. Phelps.)
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

  • Best QT export option for laptop presentation

    Hi there,
I am experimenting with exporting options in hopes to get the highest quality output for a presentation I created in FCE2. This file is 1 hr/20 min. long. (The first hour is a looped slideshow). The graphics and photos used in this were all at square pixel value, 720x540. And again, the final product will be shown from a laptop...
When I export the entire sequence from FCE, do I do a self-contained movie or not? What are the best settings I can select in QT Pro? SHould I change the compressor settings to "Best" or stick with the default settings?
I really appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
    Karen

    Thanks Tom,
I'll give that a try. I am currently exporting the second segment of the video using the same method i listed earlier. (simply because it worked and i MUST have it done tonight). After it is finished, I plan to do the whole thing in ONE CHUNK using the settings you've given me - as long as I don't have further issues with that "render file."
So I am just curious, will there be any difference between these two types of export methods?
1- Export from FCE Quicktime Movie, self-contained, to desktop. Open in QT. Export using your dimensions of 640x480, "best quality."
    VS.
2- Export using QT conversion with the above dimensions.
Thanks! This has been such a learning experience for me. I'm so glad to be at the final phase! Just keeping my fingers crossed that this export goes well. You've been such a great help, thank you.
