Slideshow: flash between pix

i have a very simple slideshow controled through xml and
actionscript ... but between the images i have an anoying flash
every time ... even when the pix are loaded!
check out an example
frame-eleven.com/newyork/dummy
and heres the script:
slides_xml = new XML();
slides_xml.onLoad = startSlideShow;
slides_xml.load("slides.xml");
slides_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
// Show the first slide and intialize variables
function startSlideShow(success) {
if (success == true) {
rootNode = slides_xml.firstChild;
totalSlides = rootNode.childNodes.length;
firstSlideNode = rootNode.firstChild;
currentSlideNode = firstSlideNode;
currentIndex = 1;
updateSlide(firstSlideNode);
// Updates the current slide with new image and text
function updateSlide(newSlideNode) {
imagePath = newSlideNode.attributes.jpegURL;
loadMovie(imagePath, targetClip);
// Event handler for 'Next slide'
setInterval(next,3000);
function next() {
nextSlideNode = currentSlideNode.nextSibling;
if (nextSlideNode == null) {
currentIndex = 1;
currentIndex++;
updateSlide(firstSlideNode);
currentSlideNode = firstSlideNode;
} else {
currentIndex++;
updateSlide(nextSlideNode);
currentSlideNode = nextSlideNode;
is there any solution to get rid of the flash and to preload
the pix?
thanks a lot
best

The link you provided is for a tutorial, and it appears to be a fairly basic approach to one, so you should be able to follow through that tutorial to get the effect that you say it has that you want, and it even includes the option to download the file so that you can learn from it.  If you cannot follow that tutorial then you should search Google for others... there are likely plenty of them around... just search using terms like "AS3 slideshow tutorial" (or substitute "AS2" for "AS3" if that's what you plan to use).

  • Screen flashing between grey and background, dock not showing

    I don't know how this happened, but I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion: as soon as I'd logged in, the Dock dissapeared, and the background started flashing between grey and my background. The only way for me to open anything is through Spotlight.
    Whenever I try to make an app fullscreen, it glitches halfway through: half the screen is grey, and half the screen flashing. Opening Notification Centre flashes between grey and open and background and closed. Mission Control won't open, and CMD-tab fails to do anything.
    Upon inspection in Activity Monitor, there is an abnormal amount of processes named "com.apple.dock.extra": closing them does nothing. One process exists and then doesn't in time to the background flash, and the amount of "dock.extra"s grows and shrinks from 3 to 10.
    Can anyone help me with this strange problem?

    Open Spotlight and type Terminal. Select the Terminal application.
    Type 'sudo rm -rf ~/Library/Dock'. Ensure it looks exactly like that (minus the quotes) and hit enter. Type your password if you have one. Then, type the command 'killall Dock' and hit enter. The dock will terminate and restart, and it will hopefully be returned to its previous state.

    Hi Kanishka,
    The Phase 2 Parameters are the same also PFS is disabled !

    what does the vendor ID is NAT-T above mean ? Is it say that both sides are using Nat traversal.
    Also in ecryption its says encryption 3DES-CBC
    i am not sure if this CBC is the culprit. Because thats what watchgaurd uses only it does not have an option for only 3DES.
    strange enought that Phase 1 is getting up, I am also questioning myself about the following message appearing in Phase 1:
    ISAKMP (0:0): Detected NAT-D payload

    how come Phase 1 is coming up though the PIX is claiming that his HASH is not the same as HIS HASH :(
    the log messages on WATCH GUARD states that there is no proposal chosen!

  • Screen flashes between battery level and screen saver

    Hi
    When I charge my iPhone up in my new iH8 alarm clock I get the "switch to airplane mode" message - fair enough. But once its been charging a few minutes the screen comes on by itself and then flashes between the image of the battery and the screen background image. It also makes an annoying click too... This flashing seems to go on indefinitely.
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers
    Jimmy

    Welcome to the Apple community.
    If this is the first generation Apple TV, then unfortunately it sounds like the unit has failed. You might try removing all the cables for a few minutes and then powering it back up, however even should this prove successful, the Apple TV may well do the same thing again shortly after.

  • IOS Beta 7 OTA, iPhone 3GS stuck flashing between Apple Logo and a white screen

    After installing iOS Beta 7 OTA, iPhone 3GS is stuck flashing between Apple Logo and a white screen. I can turn the phone off by holding the top button. But the phone boots straight to the flashing situation. It doesn't appear in iTunes, and I haven't succeeded in putting into recovery mode.

    in the end ... i did it too.
    for sure, the problem is not related to OTA update
    this is my recipe, even if i think that the behaviour is a kind of random and all the recipes given here do not really help
    - absolutely needed: cross your finger before running the procedure
    - leave the battery run flat
    - open itunes
    - connect usb
    - when it starts booting, press home and keep it pressed
    - if it loops (it will ...), try to turn it off with power button while keeping home
    - after a few tries, it will not reboot and it will go into recovery mode BUT WITH SCREEN BLACK (you see it is in recovery mode in itunes)
    - upload ios5b7
    anyway ... this time it was a bad release by apple ...
    and i think this thread will become very "popular" in the next days

  • Help.  ipad air flashes between white apple logo and unlock screen?

    help.  ipad air flashes between white apple logo and unlock screen?  how do i fix this ?

    You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
    Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Iphone 3gs freezing/screen flashing between password screen and turning off timer. Any ideas what to do please?

    can you help please? Phone having funny fit, screen flashing between password screen and turning off timer. Then screens merging.. Yuk!

    Hey kathlovesparis,
    First, I would reset the device:
    Resetting your device
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    via: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    And if that doesn't resolve the issue then I would backup the device to iTunes and restore it. Just be cautious and back up first, since restoring deletes all content and settings:

  • IPod is flashing between sync screen and music screen and beeping like mad

    I just bought a few songs and wanted to sync them onto my iPod. But when I plug it in
    the poor thing goes mad! It flashes between the snyc screen (the one with the power level on it.)
    and whatever song I was listening to last play session.
    It has never done this before.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit and have the latest iTunes update.
    I have the iPod touch 8GB bought somewhere around 2007 i think.
    I know its old, but so am I..........haha
    Robin
    Since I posted I decided to try plugging the USB cord into another port.
    It seems my iPod was tired of the USB hub. So now it's plugged into my keyboard.
    It's syncing, so far so good.

    You should plug the iPOd directly to the computer. Not through a hub or KB or other device

  • BB bridge frozen,flashes between black screen trying to download

    My BB bridge hasbeen working fine until now. When I try to download messages through the bridge, it flashes between a white screen with the working circle and a black screen.  Ihave rebooted and uninstalled then reinstalled the bridge software. Does anybody have any suggestions?

    I am having the same problem, the bridge email messages used to load and they  worked fine for a while. It still shows that i have received them and I can still access them through email login NOT through the bridge, ...
    So i did the same thing u did, rebooted, unistalled and reinstalled.
    My problem being... I have no way to 'back-up' my playbook. (if i did i still wouldn't know how!!!)
    Is this something that will eventually be fixed by an update? Or is it caused by someone thing like a virus? Is that the reason for the security wipe?

  • Configure IPsec between PIX and ADSL router

    Hi,
    We want to create IPsec between PIX @ Point A and ASA(which is behind ADSL router) @ Point B.
    Point A PIX ----> Internet -- cloud -- Internet <---- ADSL Router <---ASA Point B
    Please guide me or share usefull link for same.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dhaval Dikshit

    IPSec should only be an option if the WLC has a crypto card installed.  IIRC, only the 4400 supported the crypto card, and it went EoS shortly after the airespace acquisition.

    My Iphone 4S keeps flashing between the Apple logo, blank screen and sign on screen.  It will not let me sign on or power off.  It started about 20 mins ago.  One of my friends started having the same issue at the same time.  How can I fix this?

    Hi Bucky16,
    If you haven't already done so, you may want to reset the iPhone:
    iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    If the above does not resolve your issue, the next best step will be to restore your iPhone using a computer with iTunes:
