Slow Button

Hi I've just started experimenting with manipulating system forms. I've managed to add buttons to the Item Master Data form and they work perfectly.
The problem occurs when I add a button to the area which contains user defined fields. (pVal.FormType == -150). The button is much slower than normal. It takes a while to press. The form also seems to flicker a bit when this button is pressed.
Can anyone help me?

From what you wrote it looks like that your addon is receiving plenty of
et_ACTIVATE and et_DEACTIVATE events from 2 forms. One thing you can
try is to filter out these events - if you don't need them.
If you use B1DE AddOn wizard then all the events you don't use are automatically
filtered. You can get B1DE from SDN under Business One SDK Tools.
If you decide to use SDK natively then you can get information on how to
filter useless events on the SDK help files (check out the class EventFilters in
the UI section) or on the e-learning section.

  • Slow button on play Video Demonstration

    This might be obvious to some but for the makers and designers of Captivate; Where is the button on the video player to slow the video down? Please advice. Thanks

    Can you be a little more precise?  Are you talking about doing something in Captivate Edit mode or at runtime?
    If you're talking about changing the frame-rate of a Captivate project, then go to Preferences > Project > Project Settings > Frames Per Second.
    If you are talking about pausing the playback at runtime, click the Pause button on the playback bar.  There is no button option on playbars to slow down the playback, only Pause, Play, Back, Next, and Fast Forward.

  • Slow button selection on DVD players

    I've done my menus on photoshop and used layered menus in DSP. Everything works fine, what layers are shown at what state etc.
    But once I play the disc in a DVD player, I've noticed that moving down the buttons in the menu is really slow and takes about a second when you press enter to select something, before it does anything. The speed varies on different players and is the fastest on the most recent computers and laptops.
    So I guess it really depends on the player, but is there anything I can do to speed up the button selection in DSP? I've heard that with layered menus, each button state is like a different menu, is this true? Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Not really seperate menus as people think of it (which is why I said sort of), when you add different non-layered menus in DVD SP a different VTSM PGC is added for each menu, while the layered menus place different PGs in the same VTSM.
    But I say the same thing, do not use layered menus if you can avoid them
    It is not different then what happens with a loop menu, and actually stays in the same PGC other than when jumping from one PGC to another as with "seperate" menus.

  • Slow sampling rate = slow button response time

    (Disclaimer: I am a labview novice)
    I am writing a VI that acquires data from 2 sources - one via serial communication (VISA) and one via DAQmx (simple voltage measurement).
    Currently, our sampling rate is 0.2 Hz (one sample per 5 seconds), which I am setting using Time Delay.vi within block structures (see screenshot).  The data is being recorded satisfactorily, however when I press any button, such as the clear button (clears chart history), the stop button, or the record button (starts/stops writing to measurement file, not shown in screenshot), the button state change does not register until the next sample is recorded.  The result is a delay of up to five seconds for any action I take.  This is a minor inconvenience, but we would like to change our sample rate to 1/60 Hz, which will lead to up to a 60 second delay before any actions taken are registered.
    Block diagram attached.  I have removed all but the key functionality of the program in order to make it more readable.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?  Any advice or suggestions are welcome, as I am new to Labview.
    Thank you very much.  Screenshot attached.

    One option for you is to put your user feedback (Clear Chart...) into a parallel loop that holds an event structure.  When the user triggers an event, by pressing a button in this case, that even will execute immediately.  Look in the LabVIEW help for info on Event Structures, it is well documented there.

  • Button alignment

    Hello all,
    I am new to the JAVA programming language. I need to write an applet that will display ten buttons at the bottom of the screen. I have looked everywhere but have found nothing about button alignment. Could someone please point me in the write direction? My code so far is below. Thanks in advance.
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.applet.*;
    public class Floys extends Applet
         Button Start, Pause, Stop, Properties, Slower;
         Button Behavior ,Faster, Default, Stranger, Quit;
         Panel bot;
         public void init()
              bot = new Panel();
              add(bot);
              Start = new Button("Start");
              Pause = new Button("Pause");
              Stop = new Button("Stop");
              Properties = new Button("Properties");
              Slower = new Button("Slower");
              Behavior = new Button("Behavior");
              Faster = new Button("Faster");
              Default = new Button("Default");
              Stranger = new Button("Stranger");
              Quit = new Button("Quit");
              bot.add(Start);
              bot.add(Pause);
              bot.add(Stop);
              bot.add(Properties);
              bot.add(Behavior);
              bot.add(Slower);
              bot.add(Faster);
              bot.add(Default);
              bot.add(Stranger);
              bot.add(Quit);
         }

    you need to use Borderlayout to do this...
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.applet.*;
    public class Floys extends Applet
    Button Start, Pause, Stop, Properties, Slower;
    Button Behavior ,Faster, Default, Stranger, Quit;
    Panel bot;
    public void init()
    // set the layout of applet to Border layout like this
    // by default applet uses FlowLayout
    this.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
    bot = new Panel();
    Start = new Button("Start");
    Pause = new Button("Pause");
    Stop = new Button("Stop");
    Properties = new Button("Properties");
    Slower = new Button("Slower");
    Behavior = new Button("Behavior");
    Faster = new Button("Faster");
    Default = new Button("Default");
    Stranger = new Button("Stranger");
    Quit = new Button("Quit");
    bot.add(Start);
    bot.add(Pause);
    bot.add(Stop);
    bot.add(Properties);
    bot.add(Behavior);
    bot.add(Slower);
    bot.add(Faster);
    bot.add(Default);
    bot.add(Stranger);
    bot.add(Quit);
    add(bot,BorderLayout.SOUTH)
    good luck !

  • Please fix the Illustrator Font menu(s)

    I can't find any real discussion on this subject anywhere, so hopefully it's not an over-repeated gripe, but why has Adobe through many iterations of Illustrator CS not migrated the Photoshop and InDesign font menu systems to Illustrator? As a creative designer who uses Illustrator as much as any other CS program, I find the font menu in Illustrator to be unbelievably user-unfriendly. Having either a Type > Fonts menu which you can't scroll through at will (no scroll bar, just slow buttons), or having a Character pane font list with no font previewing in it (I use Windows 7) doesn't make any sense. Unless there's some Illustrator menu preference table somewhere where I can set these options, it's time to fix this chronicly repeated design flaw that persists through every version of the software... please.

    why has Adobe through many iterations of Illustrator CS not migrated the Photoshop and InDesign font menu systems to Illustrator?
    Code is code and different host APIs require different code. And especially an old hag like AI is going to require a lot of work to adapt even the tiniest bit of resonably contemporary code because the program is so hopelessly behind the curve in too many areas. It sucks, but it's just this way and in light of it's more serious deficiencies like the extremely bad memory handling, this kind of thing is probably one of the lesser inconveniences/ annoyances...

  • Do interactive PDF's work

    Hi,
    i have been looking into interactive PDF's and all i seem to find is poor examples which do not really work well.  I am looking into ways to show content for a client, and wanted to see what was out there.
    Does anyone have any good experiences with them,  or are they just something that never really took off.
    thanks for any of your help

    Not sure why that's happening - it's perfectly fine on my computer - and I haven't got the best computer in the world.
    3gb RAM - 2.2ghz processor (no hyperthreading)
    It may have to do with your version of Acrobat Pro or if you're using Acrobat Reader it might be slower depending on your version.
    I don't know if this blog post answers any of your queries?
    http://www.alexhogrefe.com/blog/2012/11/24/indesign-why-use-it.html
    But for your Interactive PDF presentations - I'd suggest also including a link to download the latest version of the Adobe Reader.
    It might take some experiment with InDesign and Interactive PDF and it may not do exactly what you want.
    But you won't know that until start the project.
    And then fire questions that way.

  • Gridbag Layouts

    Hi, I'm new here and could use some help...!
    I'm trying to arrange my UI to evenly distribute some buttons, 3 on the top row, 2 on the bottom. I want something like this:
    | PLAY | STOP | SLOW|
    | RESTART | REPLAY |
    Unfortunately, the buttons all seem to be of different sizes across the rows and I was wondering how you could enforce this condition use GridBags.
    I've looked through the API, but couldn't seem to find any method for keeping the same size throughout. I've tried playing with weightx, but that doesn't seem to work either. It merely aligns the edges of the buttons together.
    Here's my conditions for each button:
    gbc.gridx = 0;
    gbc.gridy = 0;
    gbc.gridheight = 1;
    gbc.gridwidth = 2;
    gridbag.addLayoutComponent(play, gbc);
    panel.add(play);
    gbc.gridx = 2;
    gridbag.addLayoutComponent(stop, gbc);
    panel.add(stop);
    gbc.gridx = 4;
    gridbag.addLayoutComponent(slow, gbc);
    panel.add(slow);
    gbc.gridx = 0;
    gbc.gridy = 1;
    gbc.gridwidth = 3;
    gridbag.addLayoutComponent(restart, gbc);
    panel.add(restart);
    gbc.gridx = 3;
    gbc.gridwidth = GridBagConstraints.REMAINDER;
    gridbag.addLayoutComponent(replay, gbc);
    panel.add(replay);
    I know this isn't exactly the most pressing issue in the world, but if someone could find time to help me out, that'd be great.
    Cheers

    I try and avoid using GridBag where-ever possible as it's a nightmare to maintain, and overly complex. What you want to acheive can be easily done by using GridLayout managers, and nesting Panels, e.g.
    /* Create buttons */
    Button btnPlay = new Button("PLAY");
    Button btnStop = new Button("STOP");
    Button btnSlow = new Button("SLOW");
    Button btnRestart = new Button("RESTART");
    Button btnReplay = new Button("REPLAY");
    /* Create Panel for top buttons and add top buttons to it */
    Panel pnlTop = new Panel(new GridLayout(1, 3));
    pnlTop.add(btnPlay);
    pnlTop.add(btnStop);
    pnlTop.add(btnSlow);
    /* Create Panel for bottom buttons and add bottom buttons to it */
    Panel pnlBottom = new Panel new GridLayout(1, 2));
    pnlBottom.add(btnRestart);
    pnlBottom.add(btnReplay);
    /* Nest button panels into one */
    Panel pnlAll = new Panel(new GridLayout(2, 1));
    pnlAll.add(pnlTop);
    pnlAll.add(pnlBottom);
    /* Then add pnlAll to your Frame/Dialog */
    add(pnlAll);
    I haven't tested this, but try it out and see. Hope it helps.

    I bougnt my S5 a month ago and I am having two major issues.  The screen is very slow to respond.  When the screen is dark and I press the home button, it doesn't come on.  I have to press the button anywhere from 4-10 times and then it usually flashes on and back off.  It is very, very frustrating.  The other issue is that the battery drains very quickly.  I have called Verizon numerous times regarding these issues.  They tell me to do different things that never help.  We eventually did a factory reset and it still has the same issues.  Help!  It is a brand new phone and unfortunately I am in a new two year contract.  Ugh. Is there anyone out there who can help me?

    I have done that several times.  In fact, every time I call Verizon with my phone problems, they have me do the same things repeatedly.  I keep telling them I have already done them but they insist they are SURE it will work this time.  It never does.  After doing the factory reset and it still not working correctly, they act like they are confused, almost like I am lying.  I did what you suggested above on the slim chance it would work this time but it did not.  I bought two S5's that day and the other one works perfectly fine.  I know I got a bad phone.  Verizon just does not listen.  It is a bad phone.  I just want a new phone that works properly.  Is that too much to ask?  I bought a new phone that has been bad from day one.  Why oh why do I have to spend hours of my time on the phone, in the store, on the computer, trying to rectify this?  It shouldn't be this difficult!  Help please!!!

  • HT1414 My 4th gen iPod touch is slow and has a lot of lag time with the touch screen and home button. It's just slow. Its a 32 gb thats barly half way full and im very disappointed. what do i do?

    My 4th generation iPod touch is super slow and sometimes i have to click the home button multiple times before anything happens. Its up to date and is a 32 gb but barely half way full. My friends have the same kind as i do, and they have the same problem. Mine is a little over a year old and i'm VERY disappointed in something that i spent over $300 for. What am i supposed to do to make this peice of crap work like it's supposed to? I paid a lot of money for it and i expect it to work but the only thing i've heard so far is "turn it on and off." Yeah... cause that solves everything. Does anyone know how to help me?

    Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    Also, sometimes restoring the iPod helps.

  • Macbook Pro is slow, freezes constantly and I'm forced to hold down the power button to turn it off.

    Hey all,
    This is my first post/discussion so hopefully I'm posting in the right section and all. Anyway, as of recently (few days) my Macbook Pro 15" (model previous to the one just released) has been been slow + lagging, also when this happens my computer freezes, but its kind of different: I can still move the cursor around and stuff, but for instance, if its google chrome that freezes I won't be able to close it, (tried force quit), after this, my whole computer kinda freezes and I can't close any of my programs, I can't click on the menu's at the top to shut down or doing anything really, eg. change internet connections. Closing my macbook, like shutting the lid doesn't solve anything, only turning it off by holding the power button for a few seconds, which I'm almost certain isn't a good thing. I've had to do this like 3 times today and its getting pretty frustrating.
    Something tells me that it might be because of memory usage, but I'm not entirely sure, I only say this because when looking at the available/free memory using iStat sometimes, its really low, like 12mb, 30mb, etc.
    Anyway, I know that's quite a lot of infomration but hopefully its useful, if there's any additional information you require that may be of help to you, please tell me and I'll do my best to provide it.
    Thanks,
    Roshen.

    Roshen,
    There are a couple of things you can try, but it sounds to me as if it's a problem with your hard drive.
    First, open Activity Monitor in your Utilities folder and see how much of your CPU % is being used by any one application (you can sort by %). If any one application/process is taking up more than 15% or so of your CPU, try killing (quitting) the process.
    Second, since yours is a 2011 model, it will have come with Lion installed. Shut down your machine and boot up while holding down the Command and R keys. Open Disk Utility and verify your disk. If it comes up with errors, click repair.
    If neither of these work, take your MBP into your local Apple Store. You should still be under warranty, even if you didn't purchase AppleCare. All beforehand and make an appointment.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Home button no longer working, screen not responding half the time, very slow functioning and random crashing?? What is going on?

    I got my IPhone 4 (GSM) a couple of years back, and had never had any trouble with it. As soon as the new updates came out (this past summer), the phone has been glitching out (randomly screen going black, or closing an app by itself, super slow functioning, screen not responding to touch and home button not working anymore).
    Help anyone? Makes no sense why it would just stop working.. ??

    it depends. i had an iPhone 3GS that was not good in the first place, but functionable. when i got iOS6 it just acted weird like yours. Have you ever dropped your phone or anything? Or maybe you should try closing your apps. For the home button. Go to Settings:General:Accsessibility:Scroll down;Assistive Touch: On. That part is hard to explain but self explanatory,
    i hope this helps!

    So i just got my ipod august 2012. about 1 month ago, my home button stopped working and my ipod is getting slower and slower. Would apple be able to fix it for free?

    Ipods automatically have a one year warrany unless you have violated the terms. But you can pay to extend the warranty. It depends, they may fix it for free or they may charge a bit. Im not entirely sure. But id say theres a good chance that they may fix it for free. With battery replacements, ive heard that they give you an entirely new ipod with a charge of $80. So i think it depends
