  • Group Video Calls

We recently purchased a Samsung TV model H7150 and discovered that the Skype application is not compatible with Group Video calls.  Is there a solution?  Will Skype be upgrading the application on the Samsung TV to allow for group calls? Thank you

    Hi
All Skype TVs can join a group audio call (ie your TV can be a participant on a group audio call). However, most TVs won't allow you to be the person who starts that group audio call. This is because hosting the call requires more processing power.
All Skype TVs can also participate in group video calls, but on the TV you will only be able to send and receive audio (you will not send or receive video).
The only TVs currently capable of group video calling are Samsung TVs, and specifically these models:
    2014 TVs with built-in cameras
2015 All TVs in the following model ranges:
    J55xx
    J63xx
    J65xx
    JU6xxx
    JU7xxx
    JS8xxx
    JS9xxx

  • Group video call on TV: LG LA690

Hi! I have a Smart Tv LG LA690 and the camera is LG AN-VC500. Can I have group video calls with my son using a laptop (I do not know what is the model but it is not Mac) and my daugther using a laptop that is Mac? The simple video calls are working ok but we are interested to have group video calls. We do not have Premium Skype but I see that you say that now it is free. If we can have this what I must do ? Thank you.

  • Smart TVs which support Skype group video conferen...

    Hello!
I've been researching on the subject the whole day and it seems I can't find any recent solid information about it.
So I wanted to know if there are any Smart TVs these days which support Skype group video conferences/calls? All the information up to 2013 and early 2014 seem to be stating that all Smart TVs support one-on-one video calls with Skype but do NOT support group video conferences.
Is this still the case or not? If not, then which make/models support the Skype group video conferences/calls?
    Thank you!
    Kind Regards,
    Tenttu

    Hi Everyone,
Just to make a clarification on Sawadee's comment, that is ... a PC running Windows, but not a PC running Linux, or a PC running Android (In my opinion, Android is a commercial version and sudo-fork of Linux). Linux users have been waiting for group video for quite a while. And I actively search the net on a consistent basis to monitor progress on the matter, which I have been doing since group video became available on the Skype service.

  • Why in 2014 do we still not have group video call ...

I wanted to fire up skype on my tv to get to use a cam at all, but i can't since the darn skype app still has no group video call, only group voice calls...
When will that app be updated to support it?

It seems foolish to use Adobe's video products when they can't produce output.  (Yes, I know one can use Encore CS6 with at least the current versions of Premiere "Pro" CC, but I trust there are few who would consider it a reasonable workflow.)
Easy output workflow if one has the need for DVD
Export MPEG 2 > Import to * Encore> Output DVD.
    * Middle step can be replaced by DVD application of choice.
    What's the problem?

  • Screen sharing in group video calling

Is it available screen sharing option for gp video calls ?

I got this e-mail too. I do not think it is scam. But I want to use both desktop and windows apps.  What the problem? Please Skype team do not change anything.
Use the best Skype experience on your computer
    Hello .......,
It looks like you’ve signed into two Skype for Windows apps ‒ Skype for Windows desktop and Skype for modern Windows ‒ on your Windows 8 device.
We’re simplifying your experience down to one app that you can use either with your mouse and keyboard or with touch. Going forward you’ll only need to use the Skype for Windows desktop app. This app has more features to help you stay connected like screen sharing and group video calling. Also, your chat conversations (from the last 30 days) and all your contacts will appear as normal.
Note: From 7 July, 2015 you’ll no longer be able to sign into the Skype for modern Windows app.

  • Group video call problem

So I have skype premium and trying to do a group video call but it only connects video with one person and the other person only connects audio. Why is the other person not able to connect with video

The person that does not connect with video is most likely using a Skype client that does not support video in group calls (such as a mobile client or iPad).

  • Group video call on LG 55LA6200 with LG AN-VC500

    Hi,
Trying to set up group video to include LG smart TV.
    Following instructions found here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10801/making-a-group-video-call-mac
Initiate the call by starting a new converstion on a laptop, using Premium account.  Add users, including the account on the TV. Click "Video call".  Conversation starts, but not everyone can see everyone else.  Example:
Master laptop initiates on laptop in same room as TV (or not).
    TV is account on TV.
Remote is account on desktop across the hall.
Every device can see its own camera view.
Master laptop can see itself and Remote video.
    TV can only see itself.
Remote can see itself and Master laptop video.
Is there something we're doing incorrectly?

  • Skype Group Video calls on Panasonic Vierra

Have just purchased a Premium account to run group calls on my Panasonic Vierra TV. This appears not possible at this time. Has anybody else had this issue or has a solution?
    Thanks

OK! I am totally with you.  Bought the Panasonic Vierra TV which boasted supporting Skype.  Then the Skype App would not woek until I had the video cam.  Bought the Panasonic Video Cam to get everything working only to find out that the Panasonic Skype App did not support group video calling.  Bummer!  Why couldn't they just tell us that before we wasted all that money.  I am very dissapointed with Panasonic and Skype.

  • 3 way group video calling but only 2 groups can se...

    Hi Friends,
I tried to have a group video call ( three persons from three different countries). Only two of us could see each other, the 3 person said he dont see any option for video chat he only receives options for Audio chat.
How can we three parties can conduct video chat?
    Thanks
    Kazi

I'm using a Mac (but I'm on the latest version) and I have the exact same problem.
Person A: Using a Macbook Air
Person B: Using an iPhone 4
Person C: Using an Android Samsung 10.1 Tablet
We're all up-to-date, but with this set-up, none of us can see each other.
    Simliarly:
Person A: Using a Macbook Air
    Person B: Using Windows 8.1
Person C: Using an Android Samsung 10.1 Tablet
Person A and B can see each other, but Person C is out of the loop and has a yellow exclamation mark attached to their profile.
What's the problem and how can I fix it?
I have a theory that only three people with computer/laptop OS's can see everyone.

  • Tely Labs telyHD - Group Video Calling

    Hi there,
I'm thinking about buying the Tely Labs telyHD for use at work. I have a Skype Premium Account but can I use this Tely Labs telyHD for group video calling?

So, this weekend we (5 of us) tested Skype Premium... I was very excited to get the service (as its £2.99 a day, should have been free for 7 days as per the site). http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/group-video-calls/ Thinking as I’m paying for it that it would be great. Found the services less than acceptable…
I have friends in the USA, Spain, South Africa and the UK and the video was less than pleasant. They all reported video dropping out at different times for no reason. My friend in the UK (1.5 hours’ drive away his video was the worst) for me. I hosted the call in the UK and I have a 30MB Fibre Optic line (Virgin, and I get 30MB and 3MB upload - I get this speed many speed tests, not on the same day obviously). I monitored my link and only used max a 150KB of the link with these results. Having this test run, we decided to starts using another product with an “O and ends in an o” (don’t want to advertise other products in this forum) straight after, which is free for group video calling but advert support. Much better experience all the video work and audio was better to.
I’m so disappointed Skype, I was really wanting this to work and to be great. So having paid the money for the service I would like a refund. I think the 15 minutes we used doesn’t justify the day rate. Could someone please contact me and credit my Skype account.
Very disappointed Skype (Microsoft) on the "Premium Service"! This is my honest opinion and not a bashing, I’m not pushing other products merely let people know about the experience.

  • Group video call on TV

I group video called mine and my husbands parents tonight.  My parents do Skype through their Panasonic TV which was only purchased a month ago and yet I got a message saying they need to upgrade to version 5.0 or higher to be able to have the video working.  How do they upgrade on the TV?  Everything I've read on the Skype help pages seems to imply that having Skype on the TV means they should be on the latest software version?

group video on tv does not work, according to a skype staff member 2 months ago:

  • 28 day trial of group video calls - unlimited?

    Hi,
I just started the free 28-day trial of group video calls. Does anyone know if there is a certain number of group video calls you can make or is it unlimited across those 28 days?
    thanks!

  • Re: Skype Premium after Free Group Video Calls

I agree.  I did not see any SKYPE email notice that the premium was being discontinued.  I now Skype primarily from my iPad and over the past year I couldn't use the premium service.  So this has been a waste.  There is no way to contact SKYPE, so I will have to contact my credit card company and dispute the charge.

    Hello,
Your Unlimited UK Subscription has been changed to Unlimited World at no additional cost to you which means that, instead of just being able to call UK you can now call to 60+ countries worldwide. Skype Premium is still there for Group Video Calls (GVC).
Everyone has had their individual country/regional Subscriptions changed to Unlimited World at no additional cost. Skype recognized that more and more people wished to call to more and more countries and this change enables them to do so without additional Subscription cost. It's a significant benefit. If you don't wish to use the Subscription you can cancel it at any time.

  • Skype Premium after Free Group Video Calls

The short version of it: Either
Good Decision, now refund your loyal paying customers; or
Poor Decision, it should remain a pay-only product.
Which one is it going to be?
    The long version of it:
Okay, Skype, I think there will be a flood of people coming in here and also people flooding the e-mails and live chats of the support team. So since it looks like nobody is going to put it up for talks, I guess I'm going to do it - what's going to happen to us who paid for a month... a few months... or even, like myself, a year of Skype Premium? Are we getting pro-rated refunds?
I know there will be someone from the Skype team that will redirect everyone to the "Refunds are eligible for those who haven't used the service yet" support article, but what about those who already paid and are now publicly notified that the core feature of Skype Premium, Group Video Calling, is now free? I've shelled out on almost $500 of Skype Premium gifts to my friends (over $100 of it to myself), each for a year of Skype Premium. What does that mean for us? What does that mean for you if you did something similar... or just had a year of service for one?
Be advised, folks, I see nothing that says that when Skype Premium is discontinued, no refunds will be offered. This means the Skype team can do as they will. If they do the wrong thing, however, then maybe their competitor (and I'm talking about the big, blue G) might have more worth in the end.
    Don't disappoint your customers, Skype.
Are you affected by this change? How muc hdid you pay for Skype Premium and what's your length of subscription? Is it still going to be active the next month and probably the month after? Let's all let the Skype team know what's going on and how we feel about it.

Summary: Skype eventually refunded my money into my bank account, after an ordeal though!
Initially, Skype had given me pro-rated Skype credit on 9-May  from 1-May to the year on. But I don't use Skype credit at all, so there wasn't much I could have done with it. The only reason I had premium was to make group video calls.
I contacted Skype and the Customer Service Executive (CSE) told me that since it has been more than 14 days from the transaction date, a refund could not be made. I had to explain that that credit was useless to me, I had not received a notification of such a transfer and if I should onsider my £20 donated to Skype. I was told that, "... because you are a loyal customer, we'll refund the money into your bank account and it will reach you within 3 - 5 business days"
I left a really nice feedback for that CSE, since I was satisfied. But, then I received an email saying that as the amount of $20 (note the currency mixup), had already been added to my Skype credit, there was no monetory refund needed. My head blew up!! This was not only deceiving but also a company backing out on its word.
Following that, I contacted Skype again. Re-iterated the entire scenario and mentioned how the first CSE had lied to me. After almost 30 mins of debating, I got the same "loyal customer" dialog and a confirmation of refund (again). But this time I was skeptic and the feedback wasn't equally good.
After 3 days I got the money in my account.
