SmartCSS FW3 Extension - Install?

Has anyone installed the free, SmartCSS extension for
Fireworks CS3. I was going to install it until the error message
below displayed, and then I decided not to. I'm not sure if the
extension will cause problems in FW3 or not. Has anyone else see
this message.
Error message: "This extension is installing a file that
exists in Fireworks CS3. Installing this extension may affect
existing functionality in Fireworks CS3. Do you want to continue?
Y/N"
Thanks,
Donna

Hi Bill,
I just finished trying the extension. It seems to work fine.
Before installing the extension I archived the original
"CssLayers.htt". I tried creating a simple rollover. I need to read
up on how to do that because I can get the HTML page with the
generated CSS code but no rollover effect.
The code that FW CS3 generated using the Smart CSS menus
extension is attached. When you get ready to export the file, the
description included with the extension says: "This extension
installs a replacement css-slices export script to produce better
html/css output. Access this script by clicking File->Export
from the main menu, then choose 'CSS Layers (.htm)' and 'Fireworks
Slices' options on the export dialog window."
I hope this helped you out.

• Extension install failing Adobe Exchange extension

Mutiple users, our test systems from Mac and Windows are failing when installing extensions from the Adobe Exchange extension.
Install Extension from Adobe Exchange Panel in Adobe CC application, Ps, Ai, Id,…
click to download extension
installing
ask to open Extension Manger CC, choose yes
Extension Manager CC
Asked to quit Adobe CC application
Sometimes: in Adobe CC application Panel shows "Installation failed. Please close Extension Manager and try again."
Quit Adobe CC application, click Retry
Extension Manager error - "File cannot be found... Extension will not be installed."
Result: Installed extension not shown installed in Extension Manager or Adobe Exchange Panel, but extension is installed.
Attempting to reinstall has same failure. Extension is installed, but has no method to remove.
Note installing steps in Panel and in Extension Manager can last 5+ minutes.

I am sorry about that. These extensions should have been specified force-quit="true" in mxi file by their producers. This attribute means that the application must be closed in order to install these extensions. Because the Exchange Panel runs in applications, so these extensions can't be installed by Exchange Panel. User have to quit applications and launch Extension Manager to install them. This is bad user experience so we hope the extension developers use this attribute only if it is indeed necessary.
To get the real root cause, please create a file named ExManCoreLibLog.YES in the "C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log" (Windows) or "/Users/<UsreName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Log" folder (Mac), then launch Extension Manager CC and reproduce your problem, then send the ExManCoreLibrary.log in this folder to [email protected] Thanks!

Here's a simple AppleScript I wrote to work around this 'issue'
-- Safari_Extensions
-- author: Matt D
-- email: [email protected]
-- created: 07.17.2014
try -- ask whether or not to disable or enable Safari extensions
display dialog "Safari Extensions" buttons {"Enable", "Disable", "Cancel"} with icon stop default button 1
set userChoice to button returned of result
if userChoice = "Disable" then
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.Safari ExtensionsEnabled 0"
display dialog "Extensions Disabled!" buttons {"Ok"} with icon applet default button 1
else if userChoice = "Enable" then
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.Safari ExtensionsEnabled 1"
display dialog "Extensions Enabled!" buttons {"Ok"} with icon applet default button 1
else if userChoice = "Cancel" then
display dialog "You quit" buttons {"Ok"} with icon applet default button 1
quit
end if
end try
try -- Restart Safari with the Extension Flag set
display dialog "Restart Safari?" buttons {"Restart", "Cancel"} with icon stop default button 1
set userChoice to button returned of result
if userChoice = "Restart" then
do shell script "killall Safari; open -a Safari"
else if userChoice = "Cancel" then
quit
end if
end try
Here's my blog post about it http://oramatt.com/2014/07/17/safari-extension-changer/

• Flash Builder Extension Install Error

I have tried the install for Flash Builder and Extension about 10 different times trying different options but I always end up with the same error where the last swc in the Referenced Libraries gives a cannot load error
Description Resource Path Location Type

When I bring up the layout in design mode it will not show images or change based on the Theme
Here is the layout in Flash Builder:
Here is the design in Photoshop - It displays with the correct Theme and shows the images:
Does anyone know of a solution for this problem or can point me in the right direction? This problem makes what should be a simple design very hard to work with.

• From VMware to Azure no extensions installed and DVD not recognized

Hello!
I'm trying to migrate a VMware RHEL VM to Microsoft Azure using Microsoft Virtual Machine Converter to convert disks and upload them. Before all this, i've prepared the vm as documentation indicates (http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-linux-create-upload-vhd-centos/)
I create de VM but it is stuck at installing extensions process and I fail to undestand why. I access to VM via ssh and i check the Waagent.log:

Could anyone help me with this issue? Thanks in advance!

Hi Susie, first of all thanks for the response.
Yes, i select VM agent when installing the VM and i've previously installed VM agent in the OS, this is its version:
[root@localhost ~]# waagent -version
WALinuxAgent-2.0.11 running on redhat
And the virtual NIC configuration as follows:
[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
DHCP_HOSTNAME=localhost.localdomain
DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
TYPE=Ethernet
USERCTL=no
PEERDNS=yes
IPV6INIT=no
About RDP, i'm migrating a RHEL VM from vmWare vCenter 5.0.0

• Extensions installed but not showing in DW8

I have recently upgraded to DW8 from MX and a lot of the
extensions that I became comfortable with using don't seem to be
available to me anymore. I have installed them and the extensions
manager is showing them as active, but I just can't locate them in
DW8.
How can I get them to show again so that I can use them? Has
anybody else had the same problem?
Have some extensions lost compatibility with DW8?
I did post this in the extensions forum, but I didn't get a
reply!
Thanks
Mat

• Extension installed but does not work

Helo.
I am creating a custom component, i created a mxp file and install using Extension Manager. After install de mxp, i open the Flash and the Component is not show on the Component Panel.
Searching in the web, i found same problems, and i found to saing that this problem was because the language used. I am from Brazil and the Flash is installed as a English version, but the component is installed in the folder pt and not en.
Again, searching i found a possibilit to create a mxp for multilanguage. I modify my mxi file, install and again, the component is not show in the Component Panel and its instaled in the pt folder.
The mxi file its this:
<macromedia-extension
name="MyComponent"
version="1.0.0"
mxiversion="2.0"
type="flashcomponent"
icon="icon.png"
ismultilingual="true"
requires-restart="true">
<defaultLanguage>en_US</defaultLanguage>

<products>
<product name="Flash" version="9" primary="true" />
</products>

MyComponent

<ui-access>

MyComponent

</ui-access>
<license-agreement>

</license-agreement>
<files>
<file source="MyComponent.swc" destination="$flash\Components\FlashLightBox\" />
</files>
</macromedia-extension>
There is something wrong with this mxi? There is some chances do fix this? Another problem, i set a custon icon for this mxp, its a png file of 18x18px. When i install the extension, in the Extension Manager don't show that icon, but show a icon like a image not found. I have to do another thing?
Thanks!

Snapback is there as a dropdown menu option
Click "History" in the Safari menu bar and then select "Search Results Snapback" from the dropdown.
Best.

• DWCS4 Extension installed but not available

Hi,
I downloaded "open picture window fever", an extension from http://dreamweaverfever.com/extensions/. It installed successfully into the dw extension manager. After restarting dw I expect the extension to be availble in the Insert drop down menu like all the other extensions I use, but it isn't.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for helping,
Wouter

Hi Torsten
instantclient-odbc-nt-11.2.0.4.0 is 32-bit driver it will be available in c:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
Note: The names are in reverse i.e. for 32 bit odbc, you search in SysWOW64 and for 64 bit you search in System32. This is as designed by Microsoft.

• Extensions install trial versions

Is it possible to install extensions in trial versions?

1. On normal restart they are saved to reopen, but on a crash files opened since last restart are lost. I remember there's at least one feature request to recover from crashes on the SQL Developer Exchange though, where you can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.
2. As said
3. Don't know, look in Preferences - Shortcut Keys if you find something.
4. I don't think so, but maybe you can use substitution vars instead (&var will prompt, &&var will remember)?
5. Can't reproduce.
6. Check sqldev's homepage: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/extensions-083825.html
7. There will always be stuff missing, but best use the online help inside sqldev and experiment.
8. I suppose you mean look at 2 tables at the same time? Use the red pin and/or Preferences - Database - ObjectViewer - Automatically freeze Object Viewer Windows.
9-10. There used to be, look closely in Preferences - Shortcut Keys if you find them.
11. Yes. Next time post different threads to maintain order and incentivate responses.

K.

• DSC Extension install failure

Hello,
I am seeing this DSC install failure in the log when I call the Set-AzureVMDscExtension during a create vm call. This issue is not occurring all the time, seems to be intermittent. Digging some more I found the WMF 5 install is happening before the DSC extension
and looks like there is a 5 minute retry for the WMF install to complete. If the install takes more than 5 minutes the code flow does not write the install-completed.dsc file to the DSCWork folder.
In order to test this hypothesis, I ran the install.cmd and enable.cmd manually after the saw this install failure, and at that point I see the install-rebootneeded.dsc file being generated in the DSCWork folder and the machine is restarted and the DSC execution
continues after the machine reboot and everything works as expected. If I am right with my hypothesis on the problem, how can I increase the retry limit for the WMF install to more than 5 minutes? I saw another thread which attributes the same failure to securing
PSCredentials object when calling the DSC install. At this point, I would like to know how other people in the forum got past this issue, This is really blocking my install workflow right now. Appreciate any inputs!
Execution Error:

Hi,
Thanks for your question. Based on my experience, there is no direct way to change the retry time limitation for installing WMF. Maybe some scripts would achieve that.
Besides, can you install DSC in Azure preview portal instead of running Azure PowerShell cmdlets? You can upload and install the script in Azure Preview portal for the VM to see if the issue persists. More information, you can refer to the link below:
Manage the PowerShell DSC Extension in the Azure Preview Portal

• CFMX Extensions Install problems

Hi,
I have been trying to install this extension pack (all colors
and varieties) on a Vista Home Premium laptop running CF 7.0.2
standalone Developer Edition and Studio 8 with DW being the 8.0.2.
The install gets almost to the end and hangs with the following
message DW8\Help\CFMXExtension.chm is being used by DW8. Please
close and try again.
I have tried shutting down all the CF components, DW is
closed no go. I have tried installing it from DW to no avail. I
have tried the dwmx2004_extensions_for_cfmx7 as well as the one
shipped with CF7 labeled justCFMXExtensions. I reinstalled fresh CF
7.0.2 and it still hangs on the same thing.
All help appreciated.

I recently found out that the kernel module (or built in support I forget which) for port multipliers causes this error/warning and the only way Ive found to get rid of the message was to recompile and remove support in the kernel for it. I wish I could tell you the exact option but both of my arch installs are botched and Im in windows

Please tell me that my hd isn't messed up? I can't think of any reason it would have crapped out.
The sad thing is they die without reason. I have a maxtor diamond max 9 work fine one minute and then I replaced my motherboard and it wouldnt spin up anymore. Ive also had a brand new western digital 5000KS die on me after a month without use. I bought it and used it for about a week then I physcially damaged my CPU and when I got everything fixed the HDD wouldnt spin up at all!

• Extensions Instalation problems

Hi All.
I am struggling. I am trying to install some extensions using Extension Manager. Download is ok, then after I accept terms and conditions it spits out: "You do not have the appropriate permissions to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission". I am tearing my hair out as I am the only user on my computer, account is set up as Administrators. It is Win7 32bit I am running. Anyone knows how to fix it?
Also when I launch Fireworks similar message appears. I have to go to task manager and End Task so it disappears and then Firework launch ok.
Hope you can help me.
Chris.

Just to add it is a CS5 Web Premium problem.

• Should users enable extensions installed by admin?

When administrators install extensions, they are supposed to
become usable by individual users.
When a user looks for installed extensions, all extensions
previously installed by the administrator
appear to be
disabled, which is confirmed by extension manager help. But,
the help system does
not say whether or not the user should enable the
extensions.
Should I (when logged on as user) check the boxes to enable
the extensions?

• Extensions installed from Ubuntu vanish (shared profile with Windows)

My system dual-boots between Ubuntu and Windows. I've set up a shared profile between the two operating systems. Everything works fine for normal browsing.
When I add an extension from Windows, everything works fine -- the extension is visible from Windows and Ubuntu.
The problem: When I add an extension from Ubuntu and restart Firefox the extension is not installed. The extension is not in the list of installed extensions.
I presume there's something wrong with some value in the profile, any ideas what is incorrect?

I just tried an experiment, and I can uninstall from Linux. I installed a new extension from Windows, and then successfully removed it from Linux.
