How can I set up purchase-to-order much the same as make-to-order
Hi all,
I apologise if this is posted in the wrong place but this is my first question that I couldn't answer by searching other posts/articles so I'm reaching out for some help and advice.
In PP, you can use a planning strategy to execute a make-to-order process which creates a production order specific to a sales order. Is the same possible within MM for creating a purchase order specific to a material required for a production order?
My example is this:
The BOM for FINI_ABC contains:
1 piece of PACK_1 (label)
1 piece of PACK_2 (container)
If I create a production order for FINI_ABC, MRP will obviosuly create requirements and purchase requisitions for both PACK_1 and PACK_2 materials. What I would like to achieve is for the production order number to be held within the purchase requisition and subsequently the purchase order.
This is required so that when the Purchase Order is created and sent to the vendor, they also receive the corresponding production order number. The vendor is then able to deliver the PACK materials packaged together for production which obviously eliminates some manual handling in the production warehouse.
As you see, it's very similar to Make-to-Order but I don't know where to start..........
Any help or advice to point me in the right direction would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks,
RobHi Rob,
Some care must be considered in respect to what materials will you be managing in your stock, if FINI_ABC or PACK_1 and PACK_2.
I'm guessing by your description you mean FINI_ABC.
I think you can create PACK_1 and PACK_2 as service materials and at your pricing condition for FINI_ABC you can define one of this "services" as a free goods item. Unfortunately you could only assign one item this way.
Another thing you can use is the empties management and set this two items in a empties BoM. Check:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/43/0102827af25285e10000000a1553f7/content.htm
In SAP Retail you can be even be a bit more creative with BoM's in purchasing as I recall.
You can also follow a more simple rule albeit some development required. Create your PO with only your finished material and create a new BoM usage and your "Purchase BoM's" for this usage. Then you set your purchase order smartform or EDI message to read this information and place it on the layout. Although you don't get the info in ME23N your supplier will.
Hope it helps,

VF03 smartform: Output could not be issued
Hi All,
Ive created a custom invoice print program and associated smartform.
These two run perfectly together when standing alone.
However Ive created a custom output type to call this program from VF03.
This output type appears in the "Issue Output To "options in VF03.
But it returns the message "Output could not be issued" when trying to print.
In debug mode the Print Program and smartform execute perfectly when calling from VF03 in the same way, but the output fails to appear.
In the Header -Output section inside the status of the output type is "Not Processed".
Any ideas guys??Hi
It seems that the Output determination is not taking place correctly
the link between the Output type and Program and smartform is not established peoperly
You have to assign this in SPRO for the billing documents
And most of the times it won't work we assign our custom program to the custom output type
it is better to use the std output type and the Std program(you copy the std and can change it but the same copied ZPeogram to be attached) and Copied/modified smartform.
check this.
Output is a link between the Driver Program and the Sapscript,
An output type summarizes messages of the same meaning. It contains parameters that are valid for all its assigned messages, for example appropriate partner functions.
Transmission medium is a medium which the layout will be come out, this may be printout, Fax or Mail
Check this link.

ex-how to config output type.
You will assign output types using Transaction NACE.
Do the follow steps to assign output type
1)Select Application Type V2 which will have description Shipping.
2)Click on Output types button.
3)Go to change mode by pressing Ctrl+F4.
4)Select one output type which already exists
5)Do Copy As(F6)
6)Give your output type against Output Type field.
7)Under General data Tab, Give Program and Form routine and Save the data.
i think it a work of functional guy but at senior level i think it is not a big deal for abaper.
Check the following documentation
In NACE t-codewe have the application for each one. based on the application output type can be defined, based on output type script and print progrma can be defined.
If suppose data can be read from EDI then we should go for condition records.
So whenever we execute the script first composer checks the output type and then execute the program. in program whenever opn form FM will be populate then script will open first. After that again program till another FM will populate if it then script will populate........like it is cycle proces. Composer does all these things and at last it will submit that output to spool.
Go to the Transaction NACE.
choose the related sub module.. like billing or shipping
doubel click on Output Types
Choose the Output Type for which whcih you wanted your script to trigger
Then select the Output Type and double click on Processing Routine
Then go to create new entries--> Select the Medium (1- print output), then enter your Script and Print Program detls --> Save and come out
Now go to the Transaction (for which you have created the output type)... Issue output--> Select the output type --> Print....
Device Types for SAP Output Devices (Detail Information)
Definition
The device type indicates the type of printer to be addressed. When you define an output device, choose the name of the device type that was defined in the SAP System for your printer model, such as Post2 for a PostScript printer. In the case of frontend printing under Microsoft Windows, you can also use the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN.
The system uses the information in the device type to convert a document from the internal SAP character representation (spool request in OTF or in text format) to a device-specific, print-ready data stream (output request). Since a device type specifies attributes that apply to all devices of a certain model, it can be shared among device definitions. For example, all devices in the SAP spool system that are compatible with Hewlett-Packard LaserJet IIID printers would use the HPLJIIID device type.
You should not confuse the device type with the printer driver. The device type is the total of all attributes of an output device that the SAP System must know to control the output device correctly, such as control commands for font selection, page size, character set selection, and so on. These attributes also include the printer driver that SAPscript/Smart Forms (the SAP form processor) should use for this printer. The SAPscript printer driver that is to be used for devices of this type for output formatting is therefore only an attribute that the device type specifies.
How do I choose the correct device type?
In most cases, the SAP System already provides the appropriate device type for the printer type for the printer model that you want to use.
These standard device types are completely defined and need no modification or extension before you use them in device definitions.
You can also download missing device types from the sapserv server. For a current list of the supported device types, see SAP Note 8928 in the SAP Service Marketplace.
Most printers can be controlled using a generic format, such as PostScript. They can be switched to a mode that is compatible with one of the standard printers for which an SAP device type is available. In this case, a supported model is emulated.
Almost all printers are delivered with Microsoft Windows printer drivers. The system can control these printers with the generic (device-independent) device type SWIN. The Microsoft Windows spool system then performs the processing of the print data.
If the specified device types are not available, and generic device types cannot be used, you must create your own device type or edit a copy of an existing device type. We recommend that only those with specialist knowledge of the SAP Spool System and printer driver code do this. For more information, see Defining a New Device Type .
Attributes of a Device Type
A device type is distinguished by the attributes listed below. If you change an existing device type or create a new device type, you must change at least some of these attributes.
Character set: A character set specifies the codes with which characters must be represented in the print-ready output stream (output request). This code replaces the generic SAP characters set that is used internally by the SAP spool system (spool request).
Printer driver: You can specify different printer drivers for printing SAPscript documents and ABAP lists.
Print controls: Print controls represent printer operations, such as boldface or changing the font size. These print control are replaced by printer-specific commands during the creation of the output request from a spool request.
Formats: Formats specify the format supported by the SAP system. The system differentiates between SAPScript formats (DINA4 and LETTER) and ABAP list formats (X_65_132 = 65 rows/132 columns).
Page format: A page format is the interface between a format and SAPscript. It specifies the paper dimensions with which SAPScript can calculate the row and column lengths.
Actions: Actions are output device-specific commands that are required for the implementation of a format. The action printer initialization, for example, can contain a printer command with which the number of rows on a page is defined. There is a set of actions for every format supported by a device type.
Output Determiantion :
You can use output control to automate either messages or subsequent processing of partner-specific messages"
This means, it provides a method for you to perform subsequent processing once a document is saved in the system. This subsequent processing is normally to print the document, but can also include activities such as:
- Faxing the document
- Emailing the document
- Sending an idoc of the document
- Sending an EDI message for the document (via an Idoc)
- and so on.
In general, it uses the condition technique to determine what, if any, output is to be produced. The condition technique works by selecting key fields from the document (document type, plant, etc.) and matching them to master data records you have previously set up. If there is a match, then output is produced.
You can use transaction NACE for the output determination settings for all applications.
1. When you start transaction NACE, a list of all represented applications appears.
2. From this initial screen, you can access all the individual processing screens for output determination from the EDIT menu.
3. Select the relevant application. This transaction does not have a menu path in customizing.

Remote Function Call:
RFC is an SAP interface protocol. Based on CPI-C, it considerably simplifies the programming of communication processes between systems.
RFCs enable you to call and execute predefined functions in a remote system - or even in the same system.
RFCs manage the communication process, parameter transfer and error handling.

Hi,
We have a requirement where the PO is to be sent to vendors through EDI. Now for EDI we need to get the PO output format in the form of a flat file or some other format from SRM and will be sent to a third party who will transmit this PO to the vendors. Now my question is- SRM does not have an output medium as EDI. It only has mail, print, fax and XML.
1. So in which format PO output will be sent to the third party which will convert it and send it to the vendors?
2. Is there any program in SRM which can extract output information in some other format like flat file other than XML?
Regards
KapilHi,
Pls see the foll related threads for details:

Trigger Smartform From External System
Dear All,
Hi all. I have a different issue. Using bapi i am able to create quotation and order . They are generating the no also . I General case if we create quotation or order and given the preview the smart form attached to that tcode will be executed and out put will be generated .
Now my requirement is after creating a quotation or sales order using bapi is it possible to execute the smartform and get the output to the mail that maintained at the time of customer maintain . I tried this but struck here . Please share your ideas with me on this .
Regards,
MadhuHi there,
Try this:
As per standard SAP, BA00 or AN00 is issued to the sold-to customer to inform about the confirmation status after an order is successfully created. When the external sys calls the BAPI, along with the sales order details, it should also pass mail-id in the import parameters. Store that import parameter somewhere in the sales order either in text or a vacant field.
1) Define ZBA00 or ZAN00 which will trigger the print O/p to the sold-to. Also in the print control prog, you can write a customized code sothat the system also sends a mail to the mail id maintained in the SO. This is a bit complex method.
2) Define BA00 & ZBA00, BA00 will go to the actual sold-to. ZBA00 will go to external sys. Define the same format for BA00 & ZBA00. Since the external system which calls the BAPI is always the same, assign the printer which is at that location in condition records. So ZBA00 will always go to that printer. External sys will get the format which the sold-to gets. Simple method.
3) Define ZBA00 as an EDI message (xml format). Every EDI message will have an middleware interface (like UNIX). When SAP sends the data, middleware will convert it into whatever format which the external sys requires. Requires a new middleware interface.
In whatever the option you choose, define a new BAPI for eg Z_BAPI_ZBA00. External sys will pass ZBA00 in input parameter. If the external system wishes to retrigger the O/p, then it will call this BAPI. Z_BAPI_ZBA00 will internally call RSNAST00 which will retrigger the O/p for all sales orders.
Hope this helps.

Sivanand -
PO format (smartform): PDF vs HTML ?
Hi everybody,
An easy question for smart guys:
- Right now, in TX: Scot I configured that the smartforms should be converted to PDF. Due to this configuration, all my PO's are sent to my suppliers in PDF format.
Is there a way to combine 2 formats ? I mean, I would like to send the PO's via html (mail) and also attached in pdf format.
Is it possible ?
Thank you ! =)
Regards from mexico,
DiegoHi Diego,
The PO edition formats available are:
-Mail (smartform in pdf in attachment to the mail)
-printing
-Fax
-EDI (with XI or SAP BC for older versions)
There is no standard option for HTML format, but you should be abble to acomplish that either with XI, or by modifying the standard program that generates the email to the supplier (I'll try to get you the exact program name tomorow).
The customizing point in IMG that allows you to generate several editions for your documents is document edition conditioning.
Regards.

Attach Smartform to Transaction
Hi
Read n worked on all the tutorilas in SAP Technical .com n SDN on creating SmartForms n SmartStyles.
How do we attach the form to the transaction eg. smartform to PO (ME21N) ?
Though, general in its nature but not a question for interview so please regard as genuine enquiry.
any help is appreciated.Hi
When a Output type in an apllication doc is configured with a Medium, Partner, Lang and other communication paramters an entry is created in NAST table
so to trigger the output an entry in NAST is compulsory
Output is a link between the Driver Program and the Sapscript,
An output type summarizes messages of the same meaning. It contains parameters that are valid for all its assigned messages, for example appropriate partner functions.
Transmission medium is a medium which the layout will be come out, this may be printout, Fax or Mail
Check this link.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c8/19884743b111d1896f0000e8322d00/content.htm
ex-how to config output type.

Hi,
Please let me know if we can send industry tax information from oracle public sector financials to HMRC (Her Majesty revenue and custom) through EDI.
It has been mentioned in th UG that oracle can send information to HMRC, but nothing has been mentioned about the format of the same.
Any pointers or document in this regard would be very helpful.
Thanks & Regards,
Parag GurjarHi, Frisoni!
The code is:
Z PROGRAM
DATA: l_verid TYPE verid.
l_verid = 'TEST_DATA'.
EXPORT l_verid TO MEMORY ID 'ZLSV_MOVEMENT_SF_LVERID'.
After the export, sy-subrc = 0 (success)
SMARTFORM
DATA: l_verid TYPE verid.
CLEAR l_verid.
IMPORT l_verid FROM MEMORY ID 'ZLSV_MOVEMENT_SF_LVERID'.
After the import, sy-subrc = 4 (error)
I used many variations in sintax of the EXPORT / IMPORT commands and nothing worked.
I also tried with SET PARAMETER / GET PARAMETER, and these commands didn't work too.
Maybe the BAPI in the middle of the process is creating a new area in SAP memory, or a new thread... But I have no idea what is happening.
Thanks! -

Filename in Webdynpro for a PDF created with Smartform
Hi,
I created a PDF with Smartform in my Webdynpro-Application.
When I click the save button there is a default filename f.pdf .
How can I change the filename?
Regards
Marcus SchugHi Experts,
any update on this?
I am facing the same problem with ESS payslip (smartform/Hrform): my customer wants to have custom file name for download salery statements from the portal. Do you know how to change the default form name unknown.pdf to e.g.. "payslip_month_year"?
I spent a lot of time to find any possibility to get and change the file name but without success till now.
Please respond.

Zdzislaw Kaczmarczyk

Dunning won't print to smartform
Hey all,
I've been trying to set up the Dunning process to print to the standard SAP dunning smartform (F150_DUNN_SF). Here's what I've done so far:
1. Used transaction BF31 to change the function module for dunning to FI_PRINT_DUNNING_NOTICE_SMARTF.
2. Used transaction SPRO under Financial Accounting->Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable->Business Transactions->Dunning->Printout->Assign Dunning Forms to set the Form for our custon procedure for all 3 Dunning Levels to F150_DUNN_SF
3. I then run the dunning report out of transaction F150. The Dunning list shows that the customer should receive the letter.
When I try to print, the job terminates. When I check the job log in SM37, I get the following error: "Include text does not exist (object TEXT, ID )" (Message class SSFCOMPOSER, Message No. 610). Everything looks like it is set up correctly. Did I miss a step?
Thanks for your help!
~WilliamHi,
Seems that the smartform that you are using has a standard text which is not avaliable check the smartform for standard texts being used and check if they are all avaliable in SO10.

Message was edited by: md monirujjamanHello,
I had thought that your 4th output of the Transaction is an output of a list and NOT from a SCRIPT.
Now, if it is a SAP SCRIPT ourput, it is quite simple as you have to get the OTFDATA from the SCRIPT. But you may have to make the correction in your SAPSCRIPT driver program.
Sample:
CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'
TABLES
otfdata = te_otf_table
EXCEPTIONS
unopened = 1
bad_pageformat_for_print = 2
OTHERS = 3.
Next you may EXPORT this OTF Data Internal Table to ABAP Memory.
In your program where you are calling all the 3 forms + the transaction which outputs the SAPScript output, the exported data may be imported and appended into the MAIN Interal Table and single PDF could be generated.
Secondly, The PRINT prieview of the SSFs could be generated by passing Export options of the SSF FM
SAmple:
ssfctrlop-no_dialog = ' '.
CALL FUNCTION l_form
EXPORTING
control_parameters = ssfctrlop
output_options = ssfcompop
I hope this helps you.
