So, about Bob's response...

http://forums.adobe.com/message/3899347#3899347
I have to tell you Bob Levine,
Your policy of no refunds on an application purchased via third party after the shipped update makes perfect sense. And is perfectly reasonable. However, I do think your accumen and approach in presenting this as a reasonable "non-solution" was less than judicious.
All you had to say was something as simple as, "Hey man, first, thank you for being and Adobe customer, and sorry you're not completely stoked about our added feature in CS5... But, while we would love to help you rectify this situation as we have hundreds, nay- THOUSANDS of other beloved long, long, long-time Adobe loyalists, it would seem that you fall outside our policy for a refund on this. See, it appears that, by your own admission, you bought your CS5 about 4 mos. after we stopped even selling it- so, with all due respect... we can't honor your request... otherwise, we'd have to honor requests going all the way back before we even had a CS monikor! I do hope you understand."
I would have been a fan for life Bob... I  would have fought by your side when the aliens attack... but now... I not so much... feat away aliens!
Eugene Tyson-
if you read this... thank you for the follow up... I found it very helpful, and what a forum is design for.
Bob,
Take a tip from Eugene... that is your role.
I look forward to you saying something intended to be sharp, and then locking out any response.

Again, not sure how it's annoying. You have selection tools. Hovering over the frame highlights it's edge. Given the tool you've chosen you'd think you'd want the frame to be visible. If you use layers at all you'd see the unique value of this feature. I know my master, background, images, and text layers by colour. And it really helps identify what it is I am hovering over.
If you don't like it - the swtich to a non-selection tool and it won't happen. Or upgrade to CS 5.5.
In future, before you buy the software and demand refunds for ridiculous reasons, please download a trial of the software before commmitting.
Also, read the help files associated with new software and it's "features".
It's a much better way to work. I mean I never bought a car without test driving it first. I don't see why you would blindly buy software without test driving it first?

  • Thinking About Bob Dylan - Where is it?

    The album Thinking About Bob Dylan was delivered to iTunes over 3 months ago but still does not show up in the search funtion of the music store when searching by title. Yet it appears to be there as a listing using this link:
    http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playListId=120455001
    But even with the above link it is listed as available ONLY as an album for $9.99 but none of the 12 songs is listed and there are no sound samples and individual tracks are not available for download.
    Has anyone seen such a problem before?
    PLEASE HELP!

    Not always-----
    I control the albums of Jack Tannehill. I am his web master and agent. We use CD Baby to distribute our CDs to digital services. We did have a problem with 2 of his albums plus an album of mine [a collection of songwriter's Demos written by me]that were only available as partial albums but now it appears that the problem has been fixed.
    Also, Thanks - a few days after my initial post our album, Thinking About Bob Dylan, became available....
    Hooray!

  • Socket Problem, Problem about printing the response from server

    Or even I am not sure if there is a response from server. My code is like that
                   //Connection between, httpProxy and target adress
                   Socket clientSocket= new Socket("some host", 80);
                   DataOutputStream outToServer= new DataOutputStream(clientSocket.getOutputStream());
                   BufferedReader inFromServer= new BufferedReader(new     InputStreamReader(clientSocket.getInputStream()));
                   //The first way
                   //outToServer.writeBytes("GET http://www.somehost.com/ HTTP/1.1"+ '\n');
                   //System.out.println("FROM SERVER: "+inFromServer.readLine());
                   //The second way
                   PrintWriter out_writer = new PrintWriter(outToServer, false);
                   out_writer.println("GET http://www.somehost.com/ HTTP/1.1");
                   out_writer.println("Host: localhost:80");
                   out_writer.println("Connection: Close");
                   out_writer.println();
                                        //The second way cont.
                   String s = null;
                   while ((s = inFromServer.readLine()) != null)
                   System.out.println(s);
                   inFromServer.close();There are the two ways that I tried, and both of them didn't work. Why they are not working ? How can I solve it ?

    problem is solved, the reason it doesn't work is i didn't write the parts correctly. I mean it should be exactly the same packetIf you mean that the entire request must be sent in a single IP packet, this isn't true.
    and host name must also be exactly sent to server.Of course.
    They must be like in the wireshark.No. The actual data you send must be the same, but the server has no way of telling about what the IP packet looks like or how many there were.
    One of your problems is that newlines in HTTP are defined as \r\n. In one case you're just using \n and in the other case you're using whatever the platform line terminator is. Neither is correct.

  • Questions about the frequency response step

    Hi,
    I am using Signal Express 3.0. I am not clear about the transfer functions in the frequency response step with different averaging modes. What I got from the help file is that H(f)=Sab(f)/Saa(f) which is cross spectrum over auto spectrum where a is the stimulus signal and b is the response signal. When RMS averaging is used, I am wondering whether the transfer function becomes magnitude of cross spectrum divided by magnitude of auto spectrum. When vector averaging is used, everthing is in complex numbers.Is it doing averaging of the time-domain signals, frequency domain signals or the results from transfer functions?
    Thanks a lot.
    Ningyu Zhao
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The algorithm to calculate the spectrum is the same in both modes.  However, the averaging mode can have a huge effect on the result.  RMS averaging is done on the spectrum itself, after the calculation.  Vector averaging is done on the input signals before the calculation.  With vector averaging, the signals must be coherent (have the same phase) or the result will be wrong due to the signal being averaged away.

  • What to Do About Lack of Responsiveness to Phone Failures

    Service repair calls take a week, only to indicate that problems exist in Verizon equipment ... then nothing ...no followup, no service....total lack of commitment to customer. Online trouble reporting is hit-and-miss and access to human seems unlikely.   What to do to get attention to repair needs?

    Unfortunately I had to do this a few years ago. My copper landline suddenly stopped working. Verizon said that they couldn't give me an estimate as to when they might fix it. The problem was that a connection a block away went bad and there were no more spares. Apparently Verizon really hates spending money maintaining their copper infrastructure; they hope we'll all switch to FioS. Anyway, I called the PUC and Verizon fixed my problem immediately. Shortly after, an aggrieved person from Verizon called to ask why I'd called the PUC on them. This is about to happen again. My landline has been useless for a week. Verizon broke 2 appointments to fix it - luckily I didn't need to be home. Then they closed the ticket. I just opened a new ticket; they suggest an appointment in 3 days, making 9 days from when I first reported it. In the new ticket, I said to fix this or I'll call the PUC. Verizon is required to provide phone service. I know this forum is monitored by Verizon. Do you have a comment?

  • How can I lodge a complaint with Apple about quality of products?

    I am about to purchase my fifth or sixth charger for my 13' macbook... of this last year and a half!! I am so unbelievably frustrated with the quality of my charger and the fact that these have to be replaced so often for products that, in just a few months, will stop working. How can I get in touch with Apple to file a complaint of this nature? None of the numbers listed on the contact website correspond with the nature of my complaint.

    lehath9, I don't know if this is the issue you're referring to, but I, too, am terribly frustrated by the amount of money I've spent on genuine Apple chargers in the last 18-24 months.
    I believe the quality of the chargers has declined significantly and have had to replace, several times over, the chargers that came with my 2nd generation iPad, my iPhone 4S and the latest iPod touch.  The cables/wires are breaking and fraying.
    I thought perhaps I was being too rough on my cables somehow the first couple times that it happened, but I know that's not the case now.  For comparison, the cables that came with my first two iPod classics and my first Nano are fine. I also took an informal survey via Facebook to see if others have noticed the same issue and got about 20 affirmative responses, all of which stated the problems started with chargers sold in the last 18 months.
    I've purchased four replacements in the last six months and the third of those 4 is now broken, exactly as the previous 2 replacements and exactly like the three before those.  The rubber/plastic casing for the wires pulls away from the non-USB part of the charger (the end that goes into your ipad/iPhone/iPod).  Once it pulls away the wires are no longer supported and they start to hang at an odd angle (no matter how careful you are plugging, unplugging and positioning the charger in the device) causing them to break and of course preventing a charge from reaching the device.

  • FEEDBACK BUTTON MISSING !! do you really not care about our oppinion?

    dear sirs,
    for the number 1 software ,it is still totally incromprehensive to me,how you have not installed an easy FEEDBACK button in your softwares,especially in adobe's photography directory, which seems to be in a continous coma ,since you started this great idea.
    i am not sure how you get any kind of feedback from anyone ,without giving us members a very easy to be found feedback button to your great idea here.
    instead we have to start a forum discussion amongst ourselves, instead with you directly !!!!!
    do you NOT care about our wishes and ideas? .....it seems like it.......
    this idea of yours would take off if you just open your eyes and ears to the needs of the market.
    give us a "Feedback button" somewhere easy to find, in Bridge "AND" here on the site, right on top of your site.
    and then do "NOT" forget to hire staff that actually deals with these feedbacks....
    WE WANT TO TALK TO YOU DIRECTLY !!!!!!! DONT BLOW US OFF ON YOUR SITE !!!
    by redirecting us around your website like a ping pong ball, in order to only find FORUMS...
    thats just ridiculous!

    wow, that about the worst response i would have ever expected from anyone.
    your APD adobe photographers directory for example is none existing in the public market right now, mainly because your ad agency in london who is handling this departement, is not working on it.
    it could be the most powerful database for us consumers who pay thousands of dollars for adobe products,
    and you know what, we photographers would be very happy to pay to be part of great database. only yours is not functioning, ........buty i guess nobody cares at adobe...

  • Service ECC_INVENTORY002QR - unexpected response content

    Hi,
    I'm testing enterprise service ECC_INVENTORY002QR / InventoryByLocationAndMaterialQueryResponse_In from package SAP APPL with a nonSAP application..
    http://es-workplace.sap.com/socoview(bD1lbiZjPTAwMSZkPW1pbg==)/render.asp?id=C4BA00F8860E11DB2B24000F20DAC9EF&fragID=&packageid=DE0426DD9B0249F19515001A64D3F462&iv=
    SAP APPL 6.05 SP8 is installed at the ECC-System.
    For given Location, LogisticsArea, MaterialID and BatchID I want to get the amounts of own stock and supplier consignemnt stock with unrestricted use.
    For the supplier consignment stock the SupplierID is needed too.
    There are 38276 pieces of unrestricted use supplier consignment stock at the logistics area.
    The service seem's to work.
    But I'm wondering about the extensive response.
    There is always a section "ExpectedInventoryChange" with ChangeTypeCode=3 and ChangeReasonCode=15 in the response.
    Blocked/Restricted stock is sent 3 times for own stock and 3 times for consignment stock.
    Has anyone an idea why blocked/restricted stock is sent 3 times in the response or why the "ExpectedInventoryChange" is sent?
    Is this the right place at SCN for this question?

    Hi adil,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you created an External Content Type.
    For resolving your issue, please do the following trobuleshooting :
     1.Whether you have used AAM for your site. If yes, please create Enternal Content Type using the orginal URL rather then the AAM URL.
     2.Please verify the Bussiness Data Connectivity Service and Managed Metadata Web Service are started as CA->Application Management->Manage services on server under Service Applications
     3.Open Application Management -> Manage services applications, find the Bussiness Data Connectivity Service Application, and in the Status column, verify that the service proxy status is Started.
     4.Please check whether the authentication is using Windows Integrated Authentication (NTLM) in CA-> Application Management->Manage web applications-> your web application->Authentication Providers.
    If this issue still exists, I suggest you delete Bussiness Data Connectivity Service Application, and create a new one.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to create a Notification which required specific formatted response

    Hi,
    I'd like ask about the notification.
    In the Workflow guide, there are some documentations about the templated message.
    I mean that there is a response instructions that should be obeyed in order to get the right action.
    I found in the System: Mailer.
    There are many example of messages such as
    - Orig. Workflow Open Mail (Direct)
    - Orig. Workflow Open Mail (Templated)
    Those messages' body said about a formatted response, such as
    To submit your response, reply to this message, including this note with your reply.
    The first lines of your reply must be your responses to the notification questions.
    Instructions below detail exactly what should be placed on each line of your reply.
    My questions are :
    1. What should I do to create a notification such like that?
    I mean, how to parse the message and then said to the Workflow Engine about what
    will happen based on the respond received?
    Since there will be some lookup codes in my workflow definition.
    As far as I know, the Message (in Workflow Builder) is only use to specify the
    notification's text.
    2. Should I use a custom PL/SQL to parse each statement from the response?
    Is there any example about how to use the PL/SQL (perhaps how to parse)?
    3. Or is it automatically processed by the Workflow if I used the message provided by
    the System: Mailer?
    4. What if I'd like to make my custom message (instead of using the System: Mailer's
    messages)?
    Where should I put (or define) my PL/SQL code ?
    Perhaps the response should look like this
    The first line should be "Yes" or "No"
    The second line should be the reasons with maximum length of 100 characters.
    5. How to handle if the response is not exactly fullfil the instructions specified in the
    message body?
    Will there be errors?
    Or the Workflow will stop running?
    Or the Workflow will wait until the exact response is received?
    6. I'd like to know if there is any example of it.
    Perhaps, anybody has ever successed to meet these reqiurement.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi,
    Thanks Luiz, for the reply.
    If I use lookup code, the response will look like in the Worklist of the Workflow Monitor, using some buttons to send the respon. And the button I clicked will determine which path the Workflow will run.
    My requirement is the response is using an e-mail (not by clicking any button).
    So the Approver should reply the notifications by writing and sending an e-mail, and the text body should look like the requirement I need.
    i.e.
    The first line of the response (in e-mail) should "Yes" or "No"
    The second line is the reason of approving.
    So how could I read the e-mail sent, extract it line by line, and inform the Workflow which path should be run.
    If the first line of the e-mail is "Yes" then the Workflow will choose the "Yes" path.
    else the Workflow will choose the "No" path.
    Thanks,

    This would indicate nothing is wrong with your applet but with your http server (not supporting http 1.1??)
    A full trace might help:
    To turn the full trace on (windows) you can start the java console, to be found here:
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4...\bin\jpicpl32.exe
    In the advanced tab you can fill in something for runtime parameters fill in this:
    -Djavaplugin.trace=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    if you cannot start the java console check here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
    add or change the following line:
    javaplugin.jre.params=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    The trace is here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log\plugin...log
    When you catch the exception you should print the stacktrace: (e.printStackTrace()).

  • Manually change the FROM field in an Response file

    Hi everyone,
    I have a question about the generated responses file from an acrobat form.  I can't use the usual E-mail method because apparently the Installed version of Reader that my companies IT department puts out blocks the use of it, people don't see the submit button.
    So I set it up in LiveCycle so that a form gets E-mailed to me when a user hit submit.  However when does this way, the FROM field come imports in as Anonymous User when I manually import it.
    Is the any way to edit this?  I don't need it to know who sent it, I know the method I'm using doesn't support this.  However I am never adding more than one at a time.  Is there any way I can manually just edit this and change it to the name of the sender?
    Thanks

    Thanks.  I will try there as well.  However, even though I created the form using LiveCycle, the responses are still being collected in Acrobat and the response file I am trying to modify is Acrobat as well.

  • Response message from RFC?

    Hi
    can a response from RFC have multiple messages. how will a BPM detect it?
    or is there any way to capture them?
    thanx

    can a response from RFC have multiple messages
    If u r just talking about the RFC response, then it can't be multiple. The RFC may trigger other scenarios but that would be completely new development.

  • Cat... What about a sticky thread upda

    Been away for a bit and even after my extended absence I can still see some of the same Q's coming up.
    Specifically microphone Q's, can you not tag a little line or two onto a thread somewhere explaining that the mic needs to be made the acti've recording device to work? That and renaming the mic may be required to make it work in Vista in some instances?
    This question is reasonable, comes up fairly regularly and has a simple answer, surely that makes it a prime candidate for an FAQ/Sticky thread of some kind.
    Also how about updating the "Response to forum questions and latest updates" thread, e.g. is the 4Gb RAM/BSOD issue fixed or not now? I'm sure I saw you say as much a while back yet the sticky hasn't been corrected to say as much, plus this would probably be an ideal thread to tag that mic solution on to.Message Edited by Giftmacher on 07-25-2007:57 AM

    Oh and where are my manners!
    Please, and thanks

  • Blocking Request/Response model

    Hi everyone !
    I'm starting to write a JMS application and I'm having some doubt about the request/response model enabled by the replyTo() method and CorrelationID field. As far is I know JMS is intended to let the client be free from the server's response by posting it's message on the queue and start doing some other work. But supposing the client needs a response from the server(a MDB) after the processing of the message I wonder how would him receive this response, assuming there is a second queue for posting the response messages. Simply using the MessageConsumer.receive() the client will be blocked, killing all the purpose of the model(even with timeout). So I wonder, should I create a second MDB just to handle the response queue ? This would left me with an RPC message producer, a MDB Message consumer (of the request message), and a MDB Message consumer (on the response queue). Is this a normal approach or is there something better ???

    Simply using the MessageConsumer.receive() the client will be blocked, killing all the purpose of the model(even with timeout).
    You have to send the message and wait for the response in two separate transactions. For example:
    // Start create and send transaction
    ctx.getUserTransaction().begin();
    connection = connectionFactory.createQueueConnection();
    connection.start();
    session = connection.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    final Message request = // create message
    final Queue tempQueue = session.createTemporaryQueue();
    request.setJMSReplyTo(tempQueue);
    final QueueSender sender = session.createSender(destination);
    sender.send(request);
    ctx.getUserTransaction().commit();
    // End create and send transaction
    // Start receive transaction
    ctx.getUserTransaction().begin();
    final QueueReceiver receiver = session.createReceiver(tempQueue);
    final Message response = receiver.receive(TIMEOUT);
    ctx.getUserTransaction().commit();
    // End receive transaction
    // process response
