SO Product Costing - Difference between HAWA & FERT Material

Hi All,
I have the same settings for two Materials on the below fields: one is a HAWA and other is a FERT material;
Material Master:
1. Ind./Collective Indicator (either 1 or 2, but same in both Materials)
2. Qty Strcuctre (either Yes or No, but same in both Materials)
3. Price Control (either S or V, but same in both Materials)
BOM:
Both the HAWA and FERT has their own BOM with its components relevant for costing
Costing Variant:
1. Both follow the same Costing Varinat PPC4
2. There is no User exit active on Costing
With all the above settings remaing same between HAWA & FERT Materials, and when I do SO Product Costing,
1. BOM is exploded for FERT materials and its compoenents are costed individually to arriev at the costing of the Header Material - FERT. (in simple terms, costing happens with Qty Structure)
2. BOM is not exploded for HAWA materials but the costing refers directly to the Material Master data price of Header Material -HAWA. (in simple terms, costing happens without Qty Structure).
Can anyone explain the reason for this difference of BOM explosing happening for FERT but not for HAWA. (Note: Qty Structure does not work for HAWA even when it is set ON in its Material Master & BOM exist for HAWA Mat.)
Thanks & Regards,
Vasu

Hi Lakshmi,
Yes I accepte that FERT should carry price control "S".
Can you pl help as why HAWA materials are not costed with Quantity Structure when its Material Master has Qunatity Structure Indicator On and has a BOM.

    Hi Matej Okretic,
The Procurement Type of both HAWA & FERT materials are same (External Procurement). But FERT mat has spl. procurement 30- subcontracting. But I think it does not matter here for this specific issue.
Also I did not get what you mean by 1st level of Costing for HAWA material. The issue is that HAWA material is just costed by taking the cost from Mat Master but it does not explode its BOM for costing. (even if Qty structure is set On in Mat. Master)
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Cost difference between PM report MCI8 and IW38 orders cost

    Hi Experts!
I have an issue of cost difference  between Plant Maintenance total actual cost of orders and Cost analysis report.
    Short Text
Cost difference between PM report MCI8 and IW38 orders cost
    Long Text
Applied SAP notes 180047 and 112841 for the following error:
Cost is not displaying in MCI8 for every 3 months intervals.
Now this problem has been resolved but got an another error like cost
difference between MCI8 report and IW38 order costs.
    Note applied method:-
1). Configured FYV as Z1 with Period update for info structures S61 to
    S65, S70, S114 to S116.
2). Regenerate order cost in Tcode OLI5.
3). PMIS: Statistical setup of info structures T.Code u2013 OLPM
For Info Structures which is changed in the configuration SO61-SO65,
    SO70, S114-S116.
4). Copy info structures Version &( to Active version 000 T.Code u2013 OLIX,
    Select Copy version
    For all info Structure SO61-SO65, SO70, S114-S116.
    *Steps for Reconstruction*
New another error like cost difference between MCI8 report and IW38
    order costs.
Step 1. Transaction- MCI8, Order type - CORR, Period -01.2009 to
    12.2009 and execute
Step 2. Drilldown the corrective maintenance order costs into period
    wise.
Step 3. Transaction- IW38, Order type Corr, Period -01.2009 to 12.2009,
    Currency - EUR and execute
    Cost differences: E.g. Example A)
                                   MCI8                                 IW38
    Total costs             8.041,69                           5.544,99
    of WOs               18                                     18
So far my view is that, regardless of the selection criteria or the
output layout, predominantly the costs are different.
I would expect that they are equal. And what the right result are,..u2026Iu2019m
    not sure.
    Regards,
    Santhamoorthy

    Hello,
Sometimes this difference comes because of the selection period which we are choosing.
Try to run IW38 once with the help of Basic start and basic finish dates of the order.
And after that with the help of the period with the same dates range.
You will get the difference also.
the reason is that whenever any Posting is done in the previous month PM order the system changes the basic start date and when you select the current period and execute IW38 it shows the whole cost incurred on the order including all previous cost.
But in MCI8 it does not happen because MCI8 is run through LIS structures. And in this report only the current month cost will be shown by the system.
I hope you got the idea about differences.
    Regards
    Naveen

  • What is the difference between view and materialized views

    Hi
What is the difference between view and materialized view ? can we update the base table using views

can we update the base table using viewsYes:
    VIEWS
    1. an updatable view is one that lets you perform DML on the underlying table
(see Oracle Database Concepts 10g - 5 Schema Objects)
    2. non-updatable view requires INSTEAD OF Triggers
(see Oracle Database Concepts 10g - 22 Triggers)
    SNAPSHOTS
You can have updateable (and writeable) snapshots - in updateable (writeable) MV replication.
Oracle uses snapshots (Materialized Views - MV) for two different purposes:
    1. replication
    2. automated Query Rewrite facility (first introduced in Oracle Discoverer, later included in Oracle database 8i).
    Replication types in Oracle are:
    a) Basic replication (MV replication)
    - transaction based
    - row-level
    - asynchronous from master table to MV (Materialized View)
    - DML replication only
    - database 7 / 8.0 / 8i / 9i / 10g
    - Standard and Enterprise Edition
    1. Read-only MV replication
    2. Updateable MV replication:
2.1 asynchronous from MV to master
2.2 synchronous from MV to master
    3. Writeable MV replication
    b) Multimaster replication
    - transaction based
    - row-level or procedural
    - asynchronous or synchronous
    - DML and DDL replication
    - database 7 / 8.0 / 8i / 9i / 10g
    - Enterprise Edition only
    1. row-level asynchronous replication
    2. row-level synchronous replication
    3. procedural asynchronous replication
    4. procedural synchronous replication
    c) Streams replication
    - (redo) log based
    - row-level
    - asynchronous
    - DML and DDL replication
    - database 9i / 10g (10g has Down Streams Capture)
    - Enterprise Edition only (Standard Edition 10g can execute Apply process)

  • SAP: Cannot save product cost in commercial price in material master

    Hi,
I have created a PCE which is designed to save the cost estimate in commercial price in accounting tab in material master. The issue that I am facing is that the cost; that is released perfectly is not saving in the commercial price in material master; instead the price saved in the commercial price is the previous price.
If I try to change the "costing type" for the PCE to any where other than "commercial price" or tax price; the price is saved successfully.
My question is that why the PCE's price is not saved in the commercial or tax price in the material master.
I would really appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    OZ

    Salaam Osman Bhai
In the costing type, choose "prices other than standard price".
And while doing CK24, you can choose the commercial price field to receive the cost estimate result

  • Apple TV cost difference between UK and USA

    Hi
Can someone tell me why the Apple TV in the UK is £99 and in the US it is $99, either the US are underpaying or as I suspect the UK is over paying.
    Thanks

    No we can't.
However, you need to remember that our cost includes VAT, whilst the US prices will have taxes added. It doesn't make up the difference, but the discrepancy isn't as much as the base prices suggest.

I created a materialized view on a query that involves partition table in it.
When i used the same query and created a table out of it <create table xyz as select * from (the query)> ,the table got created quickly.

I created a materialized view on a query that involves partition table in it.
When i used the same query and created a table out of it <create table xyz as select * from (the query)> ,the table got created quickly.
So does that mean performance wise creating table is faster than creating/refreshing the materialized view ?or is that due to the refresh method i use ?Currently i use a complete refresh Well, for starters, if you created the materialized view first and then the standard table, the data for the second one has already been fetched recently and so will reduce your I/O due to caching, and will therefore be quicker. There are also other factors such as the materialized view creating other internal bits that are required to allow for refreshes to be done quickly, such as the primary key etc which you haven't created on your second creation.
What you have shown is that two completely different statements running at different times, appear to operate with different speed. It is not a comparison of whether the materialized view is slower or quicker than the create table statement.

  • What's the difference between Material : A/cs, Consumptions A/cs & Adjust

    Hello Experts,
could you please help to know the Meaning & difference between :
    1. Material Accounts - G006
    2. Material Consumption Accounts - G003
    3. Material Adjustments Accounts - G014

    Hi Hussein,
I believe you are enquiring about the Field status groups (FSG).
SAP has delivered certain standard FSGs which we can use for our business purposes. As you may be aware that an FSG is used to control the various fields that appear on the document screen. Each GL account can control the document screen in which they are used.
SAP, to provide a user friendly system, has delivered a standard Field status variant 0001 with standard FSGs (the ones that start with Gxxx) and has named them appropriately. Say, if you create a Material GL Account, you can make use of the FSG "Material Accounts - G006". This FSG will have the standard field settings (industry best practice) for a Material Account which would be Balance Sheet Account.
Similarly, for a Material consumption GL account, you can use FSG "Material Consumption Accounts - G003" which will have standard field settings for a consumption account which is a P&L account.

When I create a material in MM01 and no Standard price is set the columns "Company code currency" y "Profit valuation" are disabled.
The only column available is the one corresponding to company code currency. The field "Price unit" starts with the number of 1000 and this information is not copied to the other price unit fields unless you introduce a value in the Standar price - Company code currency field.

    1. It is not  mondatory to activate Material ledger to create Product Cost collector.
2  It is not  mondatory to create product cost collector if we actovate Material Ledger.
    Material ledger Activation
    1. In OMX1 activate ML and price determination 3 for production plants and 2 for sales depo plants (if need)
2 In. OMX3 assign ML type standard
    3. Configure dynamic price changes : assign price release  1
    4. Assign material update structure to a valuation area
    5. Activate actual costing indicator and assign  2     Activity update relevant to price determination
    PCC:
1.In KKF6N,enter the material, plant and select create button and select the order type as
RM01, radio button selected for production version and assign the production version here
2.Save the PCC for preliminary costing
    3. PCC integrates with PP module in production version selection

  • Automatic posting question: differences between bsd and prd

Hi to everyone. Although I searched for everywhere I know (including SAP help) I couldn't find a proper answer for my question "what are the differences between transactions "BSD - inventory posting" and "PRD - Cost (price) differences" ?". it seems as if both of thhese transactions are posting in case of cost differences between goods receipt and invoice receipt (and also there must be a stock movement). I will be very thankful vor a dtailed answer.
    thanks in advance.
    Mehmet Akif EREK
    MM module responsible

    Hai,
Both BSD & PRD are the Pre defined Transaction event keys used in a SAP Std system. TO understand the BSD, firstly know the BSX ( diff bet BSX & BSD ).
    <b>• Stock posting (BSX)</b>
This transaction is used for all postings to stock accounts. Such postings are effected, for example:
o In inventory management in the case of goods receipts to own stock and goods issues from own stock
o In invoice verification, if price differences occur in connection with incoming invoices for materials valuated at moving average price and there is adequate stock coverage
o In order settlement, if the order is assigned to a material with moving average price and the actual costs at the time of settlement vary from the actual costs at the time of goods receipt
Because this transaction is dependent on the valuation class, it is possible to manage materials with different valuation classes in separate stock accounts.
    Caution
    Take care to ensure that:
o A stock account is not used for any transaction other than BSX
o Postings are not made to the account manually
o The account is not changed in the productive system before all stock has been booked out of it
Otherwise differences would arise between the total stock value of the material master records and the balance on the stock account.
Account determination of valuated sales order stock and project stock
Note that for valuated sales order stock and project stock (special stock E and Q) and for the transaction/event keys BSX andGBB, you must maintain an account determination to avoid receiving warning messages when entering data (purchase order or transfer posting) for valuated stock.
During data entry, the system attempts to execute a provisional account determination for GBB for valuated stock. The system will only replace the provisional account determination for GBB with the correct account determination for the stock account (BSX), in the background, if you enter the data for valuated stock at a later point in time.
    <b>Supplementary entry for stock (BSD)</b>
This account is posted when closing entries are made for a cumulation run. This account is a supplementary account to the stock account; that is, the stock account is added to it to determine the stock value that was calculated via the cumulation. In the process, the various valuation areas (for example, commercial, tax), that are used in the balance sheet are taxed separately.
Now the details of <b>PRD T/E key :</b>
Price differences arise for materials valuated at standard price in the case of all movements and invoices with a value that differs from the standard price. Examples: goods receipts against purchase orders (if the PO price differs from the standard pricedardpreis), goods issues in respect of which an external amount is entered, invoices (if the invoice price differs from the PO price and the standard price).
Price differences can also arise in the case of materials with moving average price if there is not enough stock to cover the invoiced quantity. In the case of goods movements in the negative range, the moving average price is not changed. Instead, any price differences arising are posted to a price difference account.
Depending on the settings for the posting rules for transaction/event key PRD, it is possible to work with or without account modification. If you use account modification, the following modifications are available in the standard system:
o None for goods and invoice receipts against purchase orders
o PRF for goods receipts against production orders and
    order settlement
o PRA for goods issues and other movements
o PRU for transfer postings (price differences in the case
    of external amounts).

  • Product costing valuated sales order stock

    Hi all,
We are in complex mfg & currently re-vamping all the ERP SAP instances ( totalling 13 company codes into one single)
All 13 units( who use NON Valuated scenarios for cost object controlling) wil use valuated sales orders & projects. The old 13 companies will be trated as profit centers with transfer pricing functionality ( Multiple valuations)
My issue is to get a product cost for sales order in <b>profit center view</b> ( plan cost) exactly same as to the marked standard cost itemisation of the FERT material.
We mark & release the std cost in Jan & the client wants to have the same itemisation of the cost ( with same values) even if they create a sales order in 2nd or 3rd or last quarter. ( As you might be knowing that the sales order wil always cal;culate the values as per the current qty structure date. In Std SAP date control, there is nothing which allows us to cost exactly the same cost estimate as marked & released in JAn)
Could somebody pls give pointers as how to get this sales order plan cost itemisation exactly equal to prevously marked & released itemisation ?
We use the Std costing variant ( Costing Type = Profit center valuation) with Std date control.
Thanks in advance to all of you,
    Warm Regards
    Dhiraj

    Hi,
If the sales order stock is valuated, you have immediate access to its value in Financial Accounting. The assigned accounts are debited and credited as a result of the valuated goods movements. From the viewpoint of MRP, the sales order stock is available for the sales order only.
If the sales order stock is not valuated, it is managed via a cost collector. The system does not carry out invoice verification postings for goods movements, and you cannot obtain an overview of how the stock is valuated until the end of the settlement period in Controlling.
Valuated sales order stocks have the following advantages:
The full costs are available at each manufacturing level.
All goods movements are immediately reflected in Financial Accounting
    Assign points if helpful
