No app on the iPod is required.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

there is nospecial way to locate your iPod, Apple will not help. Your SN is only good for identifying the iPod as yours if it is found.

Someone used my email address to create an Apple ID. I logged in to appleid.apple.com and I changed the password because it is freaking me out. I want to report it to Apple but dont know how to go about it. I want the Apple ID deleted. How do I go about that? Is there also a way to ensure that the email address wont be used again by this person to create another Apple ID?
This is compounded actually by a Gmail issue. I have had this email address for ages, since the start of the beta. But lately in the last year or so, I am getting mail that seems to be intended for other people but it is using my email address. One of the reliable things about Apple OSX, that we could count on screenshots being simple. Then DropBox came along. I suspect DropBox is the culprit here. Unless you've done anything to change it, Google keeps every email that ever passes through their server in your All Mail folder/mailbox/label. Even if you delete stuff, they hold onto it, there. You have to go out of your way to actually delete anything permanently.

Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

Macs use OS X, which is an operating system different than Windows. EXE files are designed to work in Windows, so it's normal that you can't run them.

Well, i lost my iPod at school i dont know if it was stolen, it fell out of my pocket or what but either way it is gone. I have the find my ipod app, and contacted the local police, but i just want it back. I have turned the WIFI off because it runs down my battery and i dont get service at school. Can anyone please give me some advice as to what i should do? Retracing my steps, looking at home, backpack, car, room, clothes have all been looked through. Someone please help! It was a gift from my dad. Its really important to me!
There is nothng special you can do without wifi being on.
Report it to the school and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod. Apple will not help with anything. -
I'm confused....the company has bought many apps and now they are gone on the older version of iPods...I have very unhappy clients with Special Needs that want to be able to use the apps they've had.....this should not be an issue for them:-(....give them back their apps! Please and thank you:-)

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police in case someone turns it in, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported.
