So where are the "real" cool extras in CC illustrator?

I seem to have a cool extras folder but all it contains is a load of blank cutter guides... where can I find the real cool extras? Cheers!

  • So where are the real photos that are used between iPhoto and iMovie?

    OK....this is getting ridiculous...
So where the heck does iMovie and iPhoto really store and pull the images from cause this makes no sense...
I will try and make this is a shorten version of a long story...Here is what I am dealing with...
G5 with iLife 06 and all updates...
Powerbook Pro with iLife 06 and all updates...
Spent five days editing project on my Macbook Pro --> emptied trash and bye bye project...Started over on my G5 since none of my clips are editable now (Thanks Apple! I needed that)
I had previously spent a week editing over 200 photos in Photoshop on my Macbook...This included color correction and dust and scratches as well as some retouching...So I transferred all Photos onto my G5 from my Macbook Pro and imported into Library...New discovery...Photos look like crap now...Like they were never cleaned up at all...Interesting...
So I start redoing some of these retouches and save them...Of course the changes are not reflected in iPhoto or iMovie since it doesn't really use the originals again after the initial import...Or does it?
So now here is another baffling thing to me...I do red eye correction to some photos and it is an immeditate change that can be seen in iMovie when importing...But if I rotate the pictures, no...sorry that only seems to take effect after I rotate the original in Photoshop and then reimport into my iPhoto library and delete the duplicates that have now gotten created in the process...
Can someone help me understand what is going on...This added work is giving me a headache...Where and how does iPhoto store and use the images? Why if i rotate a photo it doesn't take effect in iPhoto/iMovie unless I completely reimport, but I can remove red eye instantly...And what has happened to all the changes I made to the existing photos to remove the dust and scratches originally?

All images must be in a project. You can place then in as many albums as you wish- even albums outside the project where they reside- but they will remain in the project.
Move the images to the album. Then drag them over the project where the album resides and they will be moved to that projects. If you drag them to an album and not the project, they will remain in the original project.
Kinda hard to wrap your head around at first, but you'll see that it makes perfect sense as you progress with the application.

  • Where are the images stored after migration

I'm totally lost after migrating my pictures from iPhotos.app to Photos.app...
From an article from Apple, (see below) there is no duplication of the library even if it looks like (when you look at the GB). So i understand that there is a kind of link or alias for each picture. But i would like to know where the original ones are (imposible to know looking at the finder because both libraries show strangely a lot of GB.
So I tried different options to understand. If I delete an event in the iPhoto library and definitely trash it, these pictures are still in Photos. And if I delete some pictures in Photos.app definitely (deleting definitely from File Menu > Show Recently Deleted) these pictures are still in iPhoto !!! So where are the real pictures ??? In which library? Somewhere else? Why the two libraries are showing all these Gb and it does'n't correspond to the capacity storage of my hard disk...
I really don't understand how it works... Any help would be very appreciated.
    Article from Apple :
Photos saves disk space by sharing images with your iPhoto or Aperture libraries
Learn how Photos stores images when you migrate your iPhoto or Aperture library and saves disk space by sharing images.
When you migrate a photo library from iPhoto or Aperture, the Photos app creates a new library structure but doesn't duplicate your images. Instead, Photos saves disk space by creating links to the original and preview versions of your images. When Finder reports the file size of your Photos library, it includes all your originals and previews. It may look like your remaining iPhoto or Aperture library is taking up twice the space on your hard drive, but it isn't—your images exist only in one location, even though you may have more than one photo library. After you migrate your iPhoto or Aperture library to Photos, you might feel tempted to delete your original iPhoto or Aperture library. Because the migrated library takes little additional space, you don't need to delete the original library.

They're in both libraries; a hard link to a file is indistinguishable from the original file, and either one can be deleted without affecting the other.

You cannot use iCloud Storage to suppliment your iPad. They are mainly used to backup iPad.

Hi, when you redirect traffic to the CWS service for scanning, do you redirect the real traffic this way or is it a mirrored copy of the traffic ?
If all traffic is redirected to the Cloud, where are the Cisco datacenters located. Good to know I guess, since you don't want to avoid to much of latency

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Wireless - Where are the printing shortcuts?????

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Wireless Printer
    Windows 7
    Where are the printing shortcuts?????
I just replaced a canon printer that died that had the concept of PROFILES, so that I could setup a PROFILE for each type of printing, i.e. 4X6 photos/documents/5X7 photos.  So it was easy for our family to print, they would pick each setting.
Now with latest driver for 8600 there are NO way to save a set of settings for a printer.   I have seen some old discussions on this but I just can't believe HP doesn't have this type of functionality in their drivers.  I don't need the ePrint and all the other bogus stuff installed with the 8600 driver, but I DO NEED the ability to save different sets of printing options so I don't have to remember, borderless or not, landscape or not, etc and keep wasting photo paper/ink/regular paper with incorrect options.
Here is another posting with similar points -> Customers are NOT getting full print functionality.  We don't care about the extra software, it is minimal.  Full functionality includes the ability to create profiles for different printing situations so that the user can easily choose that profile (and therefore all the myriad settings for that profile).  What HP has done is give us ONE profile, essentially, and every time you want to do something different, you have to change that ONE profile.  How is that helping?
As I said, if I want to switch from a normal printing job (e-mail, web page, etc.) which uses my ONE setting, and then want to print a 4x6 photo, I have to remember to change at least 6 different settings.  With the shortcut, I would select my "borderless photo" shortcut, and it would automatically switch paper trays, size, color, quality, you name it.  Now you force me to change that each and every time.
If someone can explain why this is considered full functionality I would be extremely grateful.

    Hello,
I am sorry you are having trouble with your print experience.
I am going to make some assumptions here, which could be wrong in your case, but might help others.  Since you mention printing from Windows7 and ePrint in the same thread, can I assume you are trying to print using the HP ePrint driver for windows (www.hp.com/go/eprintsoftware) ?  The ePrint driver also comes preinstalled on all HP laptops and pcs now, so maybe you made a recent pc purchase and therefore have the ePrint driver installed?
The goal of the ePrint windows driver currently has a lot less to do with providing the hundreds of print features and settings that the full featured, product specific print drivers provide.  The goal is to enable customers to be able to print to any recent or new HP printer through a number of different connection paths from a single installed print driver / print queue.  Once the ePrint driver is installed, printing with that driver will dynamically find direct network printers, cloud enabled printers, public print locations, direct wireless printers, etc., and create the correct print format depending on the print path taken.  If the printer is ePrint cloud enabled and has a good internet connection, the printer and the pc do not have to be in the same location.  For example, you can print from home to your printer at work.  You can send photos of the kids to your mom's printer in another state, etc.  The ePrint solution is also good for the traveling worker who just wants to send the occasional print job to the nearest network or wireless direct printer without having to find and install another print driver for each new printer.  One driver, one queue and you can print to any recent or new HP printer.
The ePrint driver has a few important print settings that customers may want to use (copies, duplex, grayscale, etc).  More may be added over time depending on demand.
BTW, because the ePrint driver does not have a ton of print settings to handle, the rendering of print jobs is as simple and efficient as possible and should not bog down your pc.
If you want all the bells and whistles in the print driver experience and just want to print to a single printer you can download and install the product specific print driver from hp.com
I hope that helps out a few people who may be wondering what the purpose of ePrint is!!
    Good luck.

  • What are the real data files of an Oracle installation?

When I install an Oracle (XE) database then a lot of stuff is copied/setup:
*.exe, jdbc driver, service tools, scripts, config files,....
But which are the real data files (under WinXP)?
I mean the files where all the individual, personal table defintions, trigger code, inserted data records are stored?
As far as I heard these are only 9 files.
    Is this true?
What, if I copy just these 9 files to another Oracle XE installation on another computer and replace the 9 files over there?
Is all the content available at the remote computer after restart?

What, if I copy just these 9 files to another Oracle XE installation on another computer and replace the 9 files over there? No. Oracle is far more complex than that. The control file keeps info about the data files, including stuff like the last checkpoint scn, etc. If you just drop a new file on a different installation, even if the file has the same name and is in the same path, it won't match the info in the control file.
That's not to say there aren't ways to move a data file from one installation to another. But it is a lot more complex than simply dragging a file from one folder to another.

  • Where are the next shipments of iPhone 3G's?

I figured maybe someone here might be able to provide me some insight to the question; Where are all of (new shipments of) the iPhone 3G's?
I believed Apple would insured shipments were made to all their stores so that Tuesday there would have been more, and Wednesday, and so on until sales started to drop off where daily shipments were no longer necessary. Much to my disbelief, Monday and Tuesday shows no new shipments made to apparently anywhere in VA, MD, NJ, PA, OH, IA, IN, TN, KY, DE, CT, MA, NH, RI, or NY. There is a store here and a store there in some of those 15 states that shows one of them in stock, but essentially, they are gone. If you look at California and New York where the flagship stores are, they have some (probably a large quantity) of each of the 3 choices of the iPhone 3G.
Monday may have been an 'Out of Stock' day because phones couldn't be shipped out on Sunday but, what I don't understand is how on a Tuesday there are extremely few, if any to be found in the states I mentioned. What was the logic used when Apple decided that only after 9PM can you check the availability of the phone for the next day and not have some sort of 'real-time' tracking. Does this mean that if a store gets a shipment at 2PM this afternoon and you happen to be in the store (again, the store in my area won't answer their phone) you can purchase one, or are those phones only available for the next day? Even AT&T is providing 'real-time' (or at least semi-real-time) availabilty for the customer's that chose to go the Direct Fulfillment route.
The local Apple store doesn't answer the phone anymore (even AT&T stores are answering, they just start off with '...we don't have iPhone's...'). I understand they are busy but as a minimum level of customer service, someone should always be stationed to answer the phone for customer's. When I went into the store I was greated with a blank stare while I asked about availability then politely advised; '...no, sorry, we don't have any right now and we don't know when we're getting anymore, but check the web site tonight...'.
The AT&T stores (Apple's premiere partner) can't even get any to sell (other than using Direct Fulfillment), Apple stores now answering their phones, and now the online availability showing no phones in stock 5 days after release within a 15 state area. I think that demands that questions be asked to individuals at Apple's corporate level that determined the marketing and supply strategies for a major product release like this.
I congratulate Apple on the milestone achievement of selling 1 million iPhone 3G's in a 3 day period, but I find it difficult to believe that a global leader like Apple would have failed to anticipate this kind of demand and the response to consumers to be '...we don't have anymore...' or '...we have a shortage problem...'. The question again; Where are the new iPhone 3G's, and when will they be available for us to purchase again? If the statement that stores are getting shipments daily is true...

Thanks Nathan, and that's where I have been checking at since Friday evening. IMO though, it's only 50% effective simply because it isn't real time, you can only check it for the 11 - 12 hours a location is closed. If a location receives stock in at 11am today, well you wouldn't know that unless you go into the store every day and ask (and most likely you're not going to get an answer from the store reps other than what I noted above) or after 9PM. A leader in the computer industry such as Apple should be more than capable to provide real-time tracking of produc availability (in fact, they do it all the time for their online store).
Right now, it's not so much that I can't tell whether a store has stock or not but more of why isn't the phone in stock in most of 15 states on the Tuesday after the launch weekend? Is Apple sold out? Are the stores holding them until this weekend for another 'spectacle' event? Why don't the stores answer their phones to advise customers during the day if the shipment 'they receive most days' is there and you can stop in and pick one up?
Bottom line, my opinion is that the management of the release, distribution and sales of this particular product (at least where I'm at) is lacking the minimum level of customer service that should be the standard in the industry, let alone for Apple.

  • PowerPoint parsing into Captivate 8 issues - where are the Adobe personnel to get this right?

In Captivate 5.5 I can import PowerPoint slides without any problems, BUT in Captivate 8 the parsing is TERRIBLE (even in high fidelity) leaving me with this result:
I have checked the size of the PP page vs the size of the Captivate software simulation video. I have imported it into an existing capture, I have started a new PowerPoint project and I have imported it into a new Blank project. Nothing works! The parsing is still terrible.
I have now read a number of Forum posts about problems with importing PP into Captivate 8 - NONE of which had answers.
So my real question here is: where are the actual Adobe staff members to answer this question and FIX THE PROBLEM! I have a contract to make videos for a company and I will lose my contract if I cannot produce good quality work.
    This is NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!

    Lilybiri
You are a star! Thank you so much for the link.... I will certainly write to them.
And hopefully someone from Adobe management will see this and consider actually paying some of the generous users who contribute so much to this Forum, at least a stipend... Especially as Adobe is being paid good money for the software.
The response that I had to problems with Articulate Storyline is outstandingly good. Yes, they do have a general forum which is quite helpful but when I need specific help, their support is excellent. Eg. At about 1am on New Year's day I had a query about transferring my program from one computer to another. Thinking I would only get an answer a few days later I was really surprised when five minutes later I received an email telling me exactly what to do and inviting me to online chat if I still had a hassle.
I also belong to other Forums for various paid-for software that I use and although many of the people who answer in the space are just fellow users, their super-users (who are always around) are actual developers and are paid by the software provider to help the people who have bought their software.
So why can't the mammoth Adobe do the same?
    Cheers
    Ann

  • Where are the drivers?

Alright it's probably a stupid question but I just bought a new mac that came with leopard.I used boot camp to partition and install windows vista on my new mac. Everything worked fine until I had to install the drivers.I don't know where the drivers are. They supposed to be in the leopard dvd that i don't have. Where are the drivers?

    Hi Obe7,
the Mac OSX install disc that you used to install Leopard on your Mac is a 'hybrid'-disc, which contains an OSX part (only visible while in OSX) and a Windows part (only visible while in Windows).
The BootCamp 2.0 drivers are on the Windows part of that disc.
While in Windows insert that disc and usually the driver installation starts automatically.
If not, use the Windows Explorer to navigate to the disc and start the 'setup.exe' file manually.

  • Where are the older BIOS versions gone?

    Hi
A few weeks back, I've upgraded the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1001sq to the latest version (F66). I noticed that the laptop is running considearbly hotter since then and I want to revert to an older BIOS version. When I go to the updates page on the HP website and click on "older versions available" I can only see the F66 version on the page I'm directed to ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-115746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4... ), although a long list with many versions was available till recently. Where are the older versions gone?

Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
Since your notebook does have the UEFI Diagnostics installed, you should be able to rollback to the previous version that was installed. Use the firmware management option to do that.

  • Where are the print drivers found?

I have a Brother HL 2040 laser printer. THe Brother website has a version 2.2 driver for this printer. I downloaded and installed. When I add the printer I keep getting version 1.4 driver.
Can someone tell me where are the drivers found on my iMac?
Also I am trying to get this to print via a Linksys wireless print server. Do I use the ip address for the print server or the printer when adding this.
I tried using the print server IP but I get a "printer paused" issue. I think I need the new print driver.
thanks in advance for any help.

I have not gotten the driver to update to the newest version. I deleted the Brother Folders as mentioned in the replies, no joy. No matter what I do it ends up 1.4 not 2.0.
Version 1.4 worked OK for a USB connection, so I went forward with trying to get the network connection going. By trying every combination available I got it to work.
What HP jetdesk-socket has to do with my printer...escapes me. But that combination with version 1.4 driver works.
I will leave well enough alone.
I have 2 other computer to update to SL.....maybe.

    I second OMT8.
Yes, the driver file at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 allowed me to finally install my printer, but does Apple have _any idea_ how long it takes to download a 1.08GB file over a 1.5mbps DSL connection?
Never mind how much of my pricey new SSD is being consumed by the resulting 1.80GB of driver files all for _one_ printer driver that should maybe occupy 200K?
Or that the primary article on OS X printer drivers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669) -- which does indicate that the Artisan 830 is supported -- does not mention or link to the driver file that's needed to make it work?
Or what a complete violation of Apple's "it just works" gestalt it is to be confronted with the above Catch-22 and to have to search the web and then go through all of the above to make a new laptop talk to a two-year-old printer?
Yes, my printer now works, and yes, Apple's Support Communities were instrumental in getting to this point. But spending all morning (plus download time) getting a printer driver installed tastes way too much like I paid for Apple and got Microsquish.
