SOA and ECC6

Is anyone familiar with how SAP is handling the new SOA offerings in ECC6?  Specifically, I heard that they are delivering all of the industry solutions with ECC6 and its up to the customer to activate the ones they want. How is this achieved?
Also if anyone has a list of the web services that sap is offering right now could you please forward.
Thanks
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,
I think you are asking an number of questions here and I'll try address most of them:
1. Industry Solution and mySAP ERP 2005: With the latest release of mySAP ERP, most of the Industry solutions are delivered with the core and not as add-ons. Within the SAP ECC, you can activate which Industry solution you wish to use (you can only activate one IS but multiple business sets). This uses the new switch framework feature delivered by SAP NetWeaver 2004s. Check the mySAP ERP 2005 master guide for more info (http://service.sap.com/instguides)
2. Web Services: SAP pans is to deliver Enterprise Services with mySAP ERP 2005. Enterprise services are based on Web service from a technology perspective but are more concerned with delivering actual business content at the right granularity. Web Services as a technology has been delivered since SAP NetWeaver 6.20 (previously called SAP Web AS). Customers can create web services from SAP or customer ABAP or Java code as they wish.
3. Enterprise Services and Industry Solutions: SAP will deliver its first set of Enterprise Services in Q2 2006 for mySAP ERP 2005. You can get a preview of these and code with them on a SDN delivered hosted system. This is a great opportunity to try them now (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/esa/esapreview). For a list of future Enterprise Services for Industry solutions, you can also check the SAP Solution maps which also highlight the future delivery of Enterprise Services (http://www.sap.com/solutions/businessmaps/index.epx).
I hope this helps,
Mike.

    Dear Experts,
I have a problem with external sort used in the program. due to that report output records are not in the same order.
For example, i am extracting data from BSEG with fields company code, fiscal year, document no, item no, amount and GL Respectively.
in both the systems (R/3 4.7 and ECC6), data in internal tables are in same order by default.

The order of extracted records can no be assumed to be constant, any SQL optimizer can change behavior, even without any wide upgrade, but a single database or kernel patch as well as many operation of database administrator can change the order, as well as a change of user behavior, if they fill now another field in selection. So it is good practices to always sort (or use sorted type) internal table extracted or use a ORDER BY clause (provided there is an index in database, else do not)
Read online documentation of SELECT statement clause ORDER BY
The order of the rows in the result set refers to all columns that are not listed after ORDER BY, is undefined, and can be different in repeated executions of the same SELECT statement.
There are also some [MANY > 1000] OSS notes on the subject (look for your database, e.g.  1858427 - Incorrect Sorting of SQL-Select Statement, 1859655 - The result set of an SQL-Select Statement may not be sorted, 1858479 - Result set of select statement is not sorted, 1858569 - Incorrect access to result set of SELECT statement, etc.)
Also if you sort an internal table and require records with same key values to keep their respective order, use the STABLE clause.

    Raymond

  • File Adapter Transactional in SOA and OSb

    Hi All,
Is file adapter transactional in SOA and OSB. I have a requirement where a inbound file adapter polls for a file and it is consumed by a topic. If topic is down, how can I know that the same file will goes to topic when is up(how can I make it transactional).I want to do this both in SOA ans OSB.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hi Kumar,
File Adapter itself is NON TRANSACTIONAL...
    4.2.9 Nontransactional
The Oracle File Adapter picks up a file from an inbound directory, processes the file, and sends the processed file to an output directory. However, during this process if a failover occurs in the Oracle RAC back end or in an SOA managed server, then the file is processed twice because of the nontransactional nature of Oracle File Adapter. As a result, there can be duplicate files in the output directory.

  • Dynamic endpoints in SOA and OSB 11g

    Hi,
In AIA we have aiaconfiguration properties.xml from where end points of wsdls will be accessible.
This enables ease in migrations so that if endpoint changes it is only need to be changed in aiaconfiguration properties.xml.
Can the same be acheived in SOA and OSB 11g projects?
    Thanks,
    Sowmya

    Hi Sowmya,
Yes, it is very much possible in OSB 11g using customization (you may use it manually or programmitically). Please refer -

  • What products to choose for a SOA and  BPM Scenario?

Hi, i am beggining in this interesting world of SOA and BPM. I am responsible for evaluating to implement a business testing case of SOA and BPM that involves these products: Oracle BPM, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle BPEL, Oracle Weblogic Server.
So, i decided to install and configured in the same order, the following products (some of them are from the Fussion Middle Ware 11g):
    1- Oracle Database XE
2- Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.2.0) to create schemas in database for SOA and BAM
    3- WebLogic Server (10.3.2)
4- SOA Suite (11.1.1.2.0), that includes BPEL
5- JDeveloper and Application Development Framework (11.1.1.2.0)
    6- Soa-jdev-extension
    7-Oracle BPM Suite
Next, i tried to follow the running y building tutorial for Fusion Order Demo, according to "e10275-Running y Building an Application with SOA Suite" guide, but i couldn´t deploy the demo because of Ant Module Issue.
Also, i've noticed, that the service bus included in SOA Suite 11g is not the Oracle Service Bus but Enterprise Service Bus called mediator, and according to documentation in Soa Suite 11g, Oracle Service Bus is available as a separate download with an Oracle SOA Suite license. But revising Oracle Service Bus downloads, there is an only one: Oracle Service Bus 10gR3 (10.3.1.0) hat works with Weblogic server 10.3.
Besides that, there is no integration between Oracle BPM Suite and SOA Suite.
And after all, i have the following questions:
    1. Is it correct the products choosen (version 11g) to implement Business SOA/BPM evaluation case?
In case of answer to question 1 be affirmative:
    2. How can i integrate Oracle Service Bus to SOA Suite 11g?
    3. How can i integrate Oracle BPM Suite to SOA SUite 11g?
In case of answer to question 1 be negative:
    4. What products to install and configure to fulfill the business test case products requeriments: Oracle BPM, Oracle Service Bus, Oracle BPEL, Oracle Weblogic Server?
    I would appreciated your help.
    Roycito

    Hi Roycito,
And after all, i have the following questions:
    1. Is it correct the products choosen (version 11g) to implement Business SOA/BPM evaluation case?Yes. From technical perspecive it is possible and you have chosen the right combination, however it may differ as per your business requirements and use case.
In case of answer to question 1 be affirmative:
    2. How can i integrate Oracle Service Bus to SOA Suite 11g?Current version of OSB (10.3.1) does not support 11g resource adapters so direct integration may not be possible but through a transport protocol such as HTTP(S), JMS, File and FTP, you can integrate OSB indirectly with SOA suite 11g. Please refer -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/integration.1111/e10223/04_osb.htm
    3. How can i integrate Oracle BPM Suite to SOA SUite 11g?Through BPEL it should possible. Please refer -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/integration.1111/e10223/505_bpm.htm
Try to contact your local Oracle Sales Representative for more details and support from Oracle for implementaion of your use case.

    hi experts,
can any one explain about the differences b/n sap 4.7e and sap ecc6.0 in ABAP point of view.
    thanks in advance.
    rgds,

    From the ABAP perspective.
The WS_* function modules used in 4.6c has become obsolete from 4.7C. All the WS_* FMs have been replaced by GUI_* FMs.
(ii) Concept of Unicode is introduced.
(iii) Few tables have been modified in ECC6.0.
Tables TVARV & TTREX have been replaced by TVARVC & TTREXN respectively.
For functional differences please check out the following links:
