SOAP Adapter S/MIME error

Hi all,
In PI I have created one scenario to expose a Web Service and one scenario to consume the same Web Service and I have tested them successfully.  They work fine.
When I attempt to use message level security via their SOAP adapters and I chose the "Web Services Security" profile to Sign and Verify the messages, they still work fine.
However if I choose security profile "S/MIME" using the exact same configuration and certificates then the scenarios go in error.
This is what I get in the Adapter Response message:

Anybody can tell me what is causing this? Any idea?
Is there anything that I have to do to configure S/MIME and to enable its use in the SOAP adapter?
Many thanks,
Aldo

Prakasu,
Now I am sure that I need to use SMIME over HTTP.  It is a requirement for my client.
I need to upload documents with SMIME using an HTTP POST.  Content-Type in this case will be multipart/signed I guess.
It should be achievable with the SOAP adapter and I think that what you said above is not completely correct.
Anyone can guide me through this?
Many thanks,
Aldo

  • Axis SOAP Adapter - Setting MIME headers for attachements (Handlers?)

    Hello,
    I need to know if/how it is possible to set the individual MIME headers of the parts making up a multipart/related SOAP message using only standard Axis Handlers e.g. "com.sap.aii.axis.xi.XI30DynamicConfigurationHandler" (as described in the Axis FAQ in Note 1039369).
    I know I can insert transport headers  using "com.sap.aii.axis.xi.XI30DynamicConfigurationHandler", but I can't see a way of setting a MIME header for, say, the first part (i.e. the SOAP part) or the second part (e.g. an attachement). Is this possible without writing your own Axis handler? The Axis FAQ, in "Advanced usage question 31" implies that you can set MIME Headers but only shows an example of setting the transport header.
    I am using the SOAP Adapter to send a message comprising and XML message (in the SOAP body) and a PDF document (as an attachement). The external company this is being sent to requires that we have specific values for the "Content-Id" MIME header in each part of the multipart/related document. This is why I need to understand if we can do this without writing our own Axis Handler.
    Incidentally, I have tried to write a custom Axis Handler but couldn't get PI to find it after deployment. I did this by inserting my JAR file in the "com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda" (as per Notes 1039369 / 1138877) and then using JSPM. After deployment, though, when I tried to start the SOAP Adapter I got the following error in the RWB: "failed to initialize: org.apache.axis.ConfigurationException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.hp.gerryaxis.GerryAxis..." (my class was called "GerryAxis" and I placed this in package "com.hp.gerryaxis"). I'm not an experienced Java programmer (my background is in ABAP), so if anyone can suggest whey I'm getting this error, I'd be very grateful (for example, could my choice of package be causing the problem?).
    Thanks for your help.

    I went ahead and wrote a simple bespoke Axis Handler. By invoking this from the standard "HandlerBean" in the module processor of my communication channel, I was able to overwrite and set new MIME headers in the Attachment Parts of my SOAP Message. I was also able to change the contents of the SOAP Envelope; for example, I found I could easily delete the SOAP Header. However, I've encountered a problem when I try and update the MIME headers of the SOAP Part i.e. the Part of the multipart/related message containing the SOAP Envelope.
    Does anyone know why I can't seem to change the MIME headers of the SOAP Part?
    The Axis API calls I used were as follows:
    (1) To update the MIME headers of attachements in my SOAP message:
    (a) Message = MessageContext.getCurrentMessage()
    (b) Iterator = Message.getAttachments()
    (c) AttachmentPart = Iterator.getNext()
    (d) AttachmentPart.setMimeHeader(name, value)
    This works.
    (2) To update the MIME headers of the SOAP (root) Part:
    (a) Message = MessageContext.getCurrentMessage()
    (b) SOAPPart = Message.getSOAPPart()
    (c) SOAPPart.setMimeHeader(name, value)
    This DOESN'Twork - the MIME headers of the SOAP Part never change.
    (3) To update the SOAP Envelope (delete the SOAP Header):
    (a) Message = MessageContext.getCurrentMessage()
    (b) SOAPPart = Message.getSOAPPart()
    (c) SOAPEnvelope = SOAPPart.getEnvelope()
    (d) SOAPHeader = SOAPEnvelope.getHeader()
    (e) SOAPHeader.removeContents()
    This works.
    I just don't understand why the call to SOAPPart.setMimeHeader() doens't work when I try and insert new MIME headers to the SOAP Part (e.g. "Content-Name") or when I try and change existing MIME headers there (e.g. "Content-ID"). I don't get any errors.
    The code of my handler is:
    @(#)GerryAxis.java
    Set MIME headers in the SOAP and specified attachment part of a message
    package com.hp.handlers;
    import org.apache.axis.handlers.BasicHandler;
    import org.apache.axis.AxisFault;
    import org.apache.axis.attachments.AttachmentPart;
    import org.apache.axis.Message;

  • SOAP Adapter XI 3.0 - HTTP 200 response fails

    We have a scenario where a request message is sent successfully to a URL by the SOAP Adapter.
    However, the response message has an HTTP response of 200 (meaning ok) which is not handled correctly by the
    SOAP Adapter.
    The error text shown in SXMB_MONI is:
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Failed to call the endpoint HTTP 200 OK
    Is there something I am missing in the configuration to allow HTTP responses in the SOAP Adapter ? It is very odd that the SOAP Request works fine, but the SOAP Response does not.
    Any ideas anyone ?

    Hi Alex,
    in the mentioned weblog a web service "Distance" is used, but your monitor entry say, that you call the web service "StockQuotes". So I think you have put a wrong URL in your receiver SOAP adapter.
    The error comes from the web service server. It says that the request message is wrong. The element "Symbol" is missing.

  • Mapping related errors in SOAP Adapter scenario

    Hello Friends

    I have created an XSD (External definition) to get the data to XI using SOAP Adapter.
    I have done the mapping and everything looks Ok to me. I even restarted my XI server. All other scenarios are working except for this particular scenario in question.

    However, it is failing with some mapping errors.

  • Error while invoking the ABAP Proxy via SOAP Adapter

    Hi,
    My scenario involves SOAP Client invoking a webservice hosted in PI which in turn invokes the ABAP Proxy asyncronously.
    SOAP Client -> PI -> ECC (ABAP Proxy) . This works fine.
    Next , I have exposed the ECC Service Interface as webservice using SOA Manager transaction. Now, once the service is created using SOAManager, i replaced the XI Adapter with SOAP Adapter and provided the target URL as the URL provided by the SOAManager.
    SOAP Client -> PI -> ECC (ABAP Proxy via SOAP Adapter)
    With this approach, i am encountering the below error message
    2009-05-29 12:17:55 Error Adapter Framework caught exception: null
    2009-05-29 12:17:55 Error Delivering the message to the application using connection SOAP_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException.
    Any ideas on the above errror message? Any pointers or inputs will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vinayak Kamath

    This is a generic error message which does not have any information about the error which has occurred.
    Do you see any error messages in the SOAP client?

  • Error in while calling a Soap Adapter using the UDF

    hi,
    i am trying to make a call to Soap Adapter using a UDF.
    The code of the UDF is as follows :
    InputStream isPayloadStream = null;
    AbstractTrace trace= container.getTrace();
    String sService="Business Component";
    String sChannelName="Soap Channel(Sender)";
    SystemAccessor accessor=null;
    trace.addInfo("entered UDF");
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer(" ");
    trace.addInfo("creating the reference file");
    sb.append("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n");
    sb.append("<ns0:MT_123082_UDF xmlns:ns0=\"http//infosys.com/pi/projects/png/n1\">\n");
    sb.append("<INTERCHANGECONTRLNOS>" + var1 + "</INTERCHANGECONTRLNOS>");
    sb.append("<PGPARTNERID>"var2"</PGPARTNERID>""\n""</ns0:MT_123082_UDF>");
    trace.addInfo("trigerring the SOAP channel ");
    try{
    Channel channel = LookupService.getChannel(sService,sChannelName);
    accessor = LookupService.getSystemAccessor(channel);
    isPayloadStream = new ByteArrayInputStream((sb.toString()).getBytes());
    trace.addInfo("creating the xml payload ");
    XmlPayload payload = LookupService.getXmlPayload(isPayloadStream);
    Payload result=accessor.call(payload);
    catch (Exception e){
    trace.addInfo(e.getMessage());
    finally{
    if ( accessor !=null) {
    accessor.close();
    return " ";
    The above code is throwing an error while end to end testing.
    the scenario is such,while graphical mapping a UDF will be used, which will create an Xml payload, and send this payload to another SOAP to file scenario.
    The error in the sxmb_moni is:  "Error when calling an adapter by using the communication channel CC_123085_UDF_SOAP_OUT (Party: , Service: BC_123082_REMADV_D96A, Object ID: fa9c6ee15efc30c68ec34b08034d87d1) XI AF API call failed. Module exception: 'failed to set up the channel fa9c6ee15efc30c68ec34b08034d87d1'. Cause Exception: 'Channel stopped by administrative task.'."
    Please can anyone suggest how this error can be rectified.
    regards,
    Meenakshi

    Hi,
    i have checked the communication channel and the XML. The following error occurs everytime i try to run the scenario.

  • Receiver SOAP Adapter error

    Hi All,
             I am getting this response error message in my receiver SOAP Adapter while invoking a synchronous webservice.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--
    Request Message Mapping
      -->
    - <ProcessMessageResponse xmlns="http://Sleek.Integrator.Messaging" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
      <ProcessMessageResult>Value cannot be null. Parameter name: Request string is a null reference.</ProcessMessageResult>
      </ProcessMessageResponse>
    Thx in advance
    Ravijeet

    Hi All,
             I am still getting the same error value is null. I am not able to track what could be the cause of the error. If I am taking the message from SXMB_MONI and using it in a client tool it is successfully calling the webservice.
    Do we need to explicitly mention in some configuration that content type is soap/xml. SOAP header is omitting the content type or is not specifying "soap/xml" as the content type.
    I am interacting with a WAF websevice, is there any compatibilty issue with Windows Webservice and SAP XI?
    Also what should I pick as the SOAP Action from this wsdl file definition
    <wsdl:portType name="IMessageProcessor">
              <wsdl:operation name="ProcessMessage">
                   <wsdl:input message="tns:IMessageProcessor_ProcessMessage_InputMessage" wsaw:Action="XXX.Messaging/ProcessMessage"/>
                   <wsdl:output message="tns:IMessageProcessor_ProcessMessage_OutputMessage" wsaw:Action="XXX.Messaging/ProcessMessageResponse"/>
              </wsdl:operation>
         </wsdl:portType>
         <wsdl:service name="MessageProcessor">
              <wsdl:port name="BasicHttpBinding_IMessageProcessor" binding="i0:BasicHttpBinding_IMessageProcessor">
                   <soap:address location="http://XXX.com/cardax/provisioningservice"/>
              </wsdl:port>
    Thx in advance

  • Error in Receiver Soap Adapter for Google API

    Hi,
    I am working on HTTP-XI-Soap scenario which on the receiver side calls google API for spell check.
    I get the following error : <b>No Deserializer found to deserialize a ':key' using encoding style 'http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/'.</b>
    However if I try calling the webservice individually using SOAP Client it works fine and do get desired response.The soap message that is sent by the client to the target URL is :
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:urn="urn:GoogleSearch" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
       <soapenv:Body>
          <urn:doSpellingSuggestion soapenv:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/">
             <key xsi:type="xsd:string">qXWD4x1QFHIo/dePqlYOLwT7kMmkv80E</key>
             <phrase <b>xsi:type="xsd:string"</b>>Bratney</phrase>
          </urn:doSpellingSuggestion>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    However if i remove the "xsi:type="xsd:string" part from the element 'phrase' and 'key' it returns the same error as it does while using with XI.
    Hence I am assuming that that the outgoing soap message elements need to have the above highlighed attribute.
    Now I want to have this attribute(xsi:type="xsd:string) in the soap message that is sent from XI.
    My question is , Is there any setting using which I can add the attributes in the above form to the outgoing message from XI.I do not want to use a adapter Module.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sidharth

    Hi Sidharth,
    You post here the soap message that is sent by the client to the target URL, but did you look to the soap message that is sent by XI?
    Try the AF monitor http://<host>:<j2ee-port>//MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp?
    Because XI soap adapter doesn't support all tags of wsdl rpc-based, we need to adjust them...
    Look to the SOAP FAQ (SAP note number 856597) under question "Can I convert an RPC styled WSDL to a document styled WSDL?"... Look at last but one paragraph ;o)
    So, you need to change this attribute to one that it is compatible...
    Go to http://service.sap.com/xi > Media Library > Documentation and there you will find this xls document -> SAP XI 3.0 (SP11) - Supported XML Schema and WSDL (EN) in this document you have all the compatible elements of wsdl for XI.
    One more thing, you can adjust your soap request and change or add the required tags You can do it with xslt-mapping or create your won data types in XI without import the WSDL generated by google.
    Hope it helps,
    Ricardo.

  • Error in Sender SOAP Adapter on XI 3.0 SP13

    Hi All.
    I have an application that sends a SOAP message to XI SOAP Adapter, to reach a synchronous interface. I've generated the .wsdl file from the Integration Directory, within the URL:
    http://sapbox:59800/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_PORTAL:CC_S_SOAP_CREDITO
    When I try to reach this URL, I get the successful response:
    <i>Message Servlet is in Status OK</i>
    I've also created the sender SOAP communication channel, fullfilling the default namespace and default interface correctly.
    However, when I use wsnavigator client provided by SAP to prove the scenario, the SOAP message doesn't achieve XI, as the XISOAPAdapter EJB throws some exceptions:

    I've already done something really similar on SP 9. Can it be a new problem from SP13? Does anyone has any idea?

    Hi Naveen,
    I have configured a SOAP sender adapter in XI 3.0 and is using the URL
    http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:BS_WEBSERVICE:CC_WEBSERVICE_SOAP to post the messages. When I open the URL in the browser I am getting the error.
    Message Servlet is in Status ERROR
    Status information:
    Servlet com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet (Version $Id: //tc/aii/30_VAL_REL/src/_adapters/_soap/java/com/sap/aii/af/mp/soap/web/MessageServlet.java#5 $) bound to /MessageServlet

    Lookupname for remoteModuleProcessorLookupName: null
    ModuleProcessorClass not instantiated
    ModuleProcessorLocal not instantiated
    ModuleProcessorRemote not instantiated
    But when I test the URL http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/HelperServlet?action=FindChannel&channel=:BS_WEBSERVICE:CC_WEBSERVICE_SOAP to check the communication channel I am getting the right response as below.
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/HelperServlet?action=FindChannel&channel=:BS_WEBSERVICE:CC_WEBSERVICE_SOAP <s:ChannelInfo xmlns:s="http://sap.com/xi/WebService/xi30">

    <direction>INBOUND</direction>
    <party />
    <service>BS_WEBSERVICE</service>
    </s:ChannelInfo
    I used the http capture to debug, In the 1st case though I am getting "Message Servlet in status error" I am seeing a 200 OK code in the http capture tool. When the message is posted from .net client proxy or Altova XML Spy we are getting a 500 internal server error.
    Am not sure what causes the error
