SOAP MIME-BPEL Attachment

Hi,
I have been trying to use the Async MIME WSDL interface present in the following metalink: ID 1272093.1 which will accept an attachment and write the attachment to a target location.
This BPEL has a file adapter which will write the attachment to a specific location present in the Adapter. But instead i can see an attachment with 0 bytes in the target location and the file is not being written there.
Any help....?

Hi,
I am able to see the value in HREF getting populated if i use a FileAdapter to read the File and then write it to a location using another file adapter. But the same HREF is not getting populated if i am using SOAP with attachment. I checked the ATTACHMENT table and the file is getting stored there and a key is getting genrated in both the cases but the HREF value is not getting populated while using SOAP with Attachment. Any idea...?

    Hi all,
    we have a scenario proxy to soap,and the volume of data sending from proxy to soap is more than 20 mb.
    as the third party system can't receive 20MB of data in one single soap message and we can't split this message as the whole data is related one WorkOrder. we thought of sending the SOAP message with an attachment.could any one guide me how can i attach the payload data to soap as an attachment and send.
    thank you.

    Ravi,
    With the generic SOAP client, it asks for the http based wsdl file location. But my wsdl has been generated by XI and I have the file stored on my desktop.
    Something to do with the path http://zpidd01:8030/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=NetworkPartners:NP_Order_BS:NP_SOAP_Sender_CC ??
    Stefan,
    my scenario is to send a SOAP request with attachment and post the attachment in ECC through the ABAP server proxy.
    WebService Client -
    SOAP----> XI -
    ABAP PROXY CALL ---> ECC
    Need further assistance from both of you how to achieve this scenario.

    Hello,
    How do you package you WS client application to be deployed in JBoss?
    The JAX-RPC clients are not that portable you may need to recompile the client with JBoss WebService implementation/tools, and check that you do have the different deployment descriptors for the client too.

  • SOAP Mime Attachments

    I'm new to web services.. before actually getting my hands dirty.. I need to figure out some things before deciding i will undertake a project..
    I'm thinking of an asynchronous setup..were clients submit batches of data to a web method...clients will poll the service for a response
    (see pattern 3 > http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/ws-asynch2/index.html)
    This system must use web standards.. as more then 1 organisation will participate
    this will be a mixed environment - some clients will submit data on the fly, others will send batches
    Each entry in the batch will have 2 images of 3k each ...it seems that the problem is with memory allocation rather than the network performance.
    I'm estimating 500 records per batch.. so a typical payload would come up to 3mb
    Does using SOAP MIME attachments resolve this issue? from what i understood.. this avoids having the images loaded memory as part of the DOM tree..
    would this setup even work??

    Hi I'm in the same boat... can we get some help?
    Thanks

  • Scenario: SOAP message with attached .zip file to FTP ?

    Hi all,
    I've searched SDN etc but got no good hints to my problem.
    My scenario is tht we are receiving an XML message via SOAP adapter and this is a MIME multipart message so it carries also a attached zip-file.
    The XML and the attached zip-file should then be saved over FTP.
    It enters IS correctly and I can see that I have the attachment and it goes to AE. I can see payload and attachment in the statusreport on receiver cc.
    The FTP adapter saves the payload XML correctly but the attachment is not saved anywhere.
    I have not configured any modules, BIC etc in the FTP adapter and I need some input on how to set this up tp put both files on FTP server.
    In the future the FILE adapter will be used and then I wounder if I will get the same problem there?

    I dont think there is a direct way of doing this. I can suggest you a method. In the directory receiver determination use 2 receivers with no condition. You message will get split in to two now. Create the interface determinations and receiver agreements. Complete one of them normally. It will sav the xml t FTP. For the other one, in the adapter use the payloadswapbean. It will swap the attachement to payload. THis one would save your zip on the ftp server.
    Hope its clear..!!

  • Outbound SOAP Message with Attachment

    The requirement is to invoke a web service by sending attachments in the outbound SOAP message. The attachment body needs to be assigned in the message flow, using an element E1 extracted from the message incoming into the flow.
    I am trying to use attachments variable to set content-type (text/xml) and body using E1. However, these are not getting assigned to attachments variable, as seen by logging the variable.
    I was told that $attachments cannot be changed inside the flow (it is marked black in the console unlike the header and body that are marked green). If that is the case, how do we invoke services using attachments from a message flow?
    Any pointers would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    A SOAP message may need to be transmitted together with attachments of various sorts, ranging from facsimile images of legal documents to engineering drawings. Such data are often in some binary format. For example, most images on the Internet are transmitted using either GIF or JPEG data formats. In this document we describe a standard way to associate a SOAP message with one or more attachments in their native format in a multipart MIME structure for transport.
    yes it is possible to send attachment with the SOAP.
    SOAP Message Packages
    A "SOAP message package" contains a primary SOAP 1.1 message. It may also contain additional entities that are not lexically within the SOAP message but are related in some manner. These entities may contain data in formats other than XML. The primary SOAP 1.1 message in a message package may reference the additional entities. Such additional entities are often informally referred to as "attachments." This section describes how to construct SOAP message packages and how SOAP processors will process them.
    A SOAP message package is constructed using the Multipart/Related media type, which is defined in RFC 2387. The rules for the construction of SOAP message packages are as follows:
    The primary SOAP 1.1 message must be carried in the root body part of the Multipart/Related structure. Consequently the type parameter of the Multipart/Related media header will always equal the Content-Type header for the primary SOAP 1.1 message, i.e., text/xml.
    The MIME Multipart/Related encapsulation of a SOAP message is semantically equivalent to a SOAP protocol binding in that the SOAP message itself is not aware that it is being encapsulated. That is, there is nothing in the primary SOAP message proper that indicates that the SOAP message is encapsulated .

  • Soap message with Attachment

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement wherin I have to send an attachment(image) along with the soap payload.i.e. the soap message contains the payload and an attachment.For eg. the soap message is as shown below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
      <SOAP-ENV:Body>

             </Record>
          </ns1:MT_Soap>
      </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    How can I include the attachment(which is on a local machine) in the above soap message?
    Is it posssible to send the attachment in the field "FieldAtthmt"?
    If it is possible to send an attachment with the soap message then how can that attachment be handled in XI?
    Thanks in advance,

  • WSDL with SOAP Binding and Attachement

    Hello
    I'm trying to define a WSDL-Definition which defines a operation called getFile() which returns a file as a SOAP attachement. I created the follwing file which I can verify without any problems. However if I try to compile it with wscompile (wscompile -gen:server -mapping build/mapping.xml -d build -nd build -classpath . config.xml) I get the follwing error:
    error: output message of binding operation "getFile" does not have a SOAP body extension
    When I remove the line
    <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" style="rpc"/>
    wscompile generates the classes but gives the following warnings:
    warning: ignoring port "FileDistributorIFPort": not a SOAP port
    warning: Service "FileDistributorService" does not contain any usable ports
    Which is somehow clear because I did not define the soap binding.

    Not very sure, but i suspect that there is an error here in your WSDL :
    <mime:multipartRelated>
    <mime:part>
    <soap:body parts="body" use="literal"/>
    </mime:part>
    <mime:part>
    <mime:content part="file" type="tns:ArrayOfBinary"/>The type attribute should be a valid Mime Type.
    Quoting from the WSDL Specification
    The type attribute contains the MIME type string. A type value has two portions, separated by a slash (/), either of which may be a wildcard (*). Not specifying the type attribute indicates that all MIME types are acceptable.
    Why not try the following instead of the last line above
    <mime:content part="file" type="*/*"/>

  • SOAP response in attachment - how to transfer this to ERP via XI adapter?

    Hi all
    We have a proxy <-> PI <-> WS scenario
    We use "Do not use SOAP envelope" in order to create a specific header info for the WS.
    The reply from the WS puts the response (xml) in the payload attachment.
    Everything is ok in PI
    But the generated proxy on the ERP side fails/throws exception because of missing payload (expected as main document and not as attachment).
    How can we get this corrected?
    I have tried to use the PayloadSwapBean module without luck (but perhaps I'm missing how to fill out the keyname and keyvalue - someone having an example showing how to use this module in this situation?)
    Perhaps there is a solution/option when generating the proxy?
    All help is very welcome

  • Proxy to SOAP scenario-With Attachment and Mapping

    I have a scenario to be developed, it is a Proxy to SOAP sceanrio.
    There are about 8 fields coming from Proxy.
    Can we create an attachment from these fields.
    Also we have to do a mapping of this attachment to a field in the target External Defination and also 2 fields of the 8 have to mapped to the other respective fields of the external defination.
    All this has to be posted on a webservice through SOAP with
    the 2 fields in payload and
    the attachment in the attachemnt section of the message
    Could this be achieved?

    In ABAP proxy you create a message with the two fields which you need for main SOAP message.
    The attachment is created exactly how it is requested from web service.
    You create a String with the XML (including tags) and do a codepage conversion to UTF-8 (or whatever is requested)
    Note: The payload is created in UTF-8 automatically, the attachment is treated as binary.
    You can also use a Java mapping for creating the attachment, if you have good Java skills, but I recommend to use program code for one purpose only on one place.

  • SOAP adapter looses attachment name

    We have a very annoying problem regarding the SOAP adapter. PI "looses" the attachment names when we send from one to the other PI system with the SOAP adapter. E.g. source attachment name is "invoice.pdf", on the target side it is "attachment-1". It seems to be a general shortcoming/bug of the SOAP adapter. I do not know if it gets lost in the SOAP receiver channel or later in the sender channel of the other party.
    Is there any way to get around this, so that the partner receives the correct attachment name ? Some configuration in the SOAP channels ? One solution is to pass a name in the content-type (I think that will be preserved), but that I consider only as workaround.
    We have that problem on PI 7.0 and even on PI 7.1

  • SOAP Sender Adapter Attachment Handling in Response message

    Hi Experts,
    I have a SOAP <> XI <> Proxy scenario where an external WS client sends a SOAP request and receives a SOAP response along with an attachment.
    The problem is that the WS client is unable to retrieve the attachment from the SOAP response although the SXI_MONITOR shows both the payload and attachment beign sent out. In the SOAP sender I 'DO NOT' tick the 'Keep Attachment' parameter.
    If I tick the 'Keep Attachment' parameter, then the payload and attachment both goes as attachment.
    I need help in writing an adapter module which would ensure that the payload remains as the main payload and only the additional attachment goes out as an attachment.
