SOAP timeout problem in workshop web service

i have a web service created thru workshop that exposes session bean methods.
the method calls take an inordinate amount of time to come back (around 10 mins)
and the SOAP request times out. is there any way (synchronously) to bump up the
timeout?

    Hi!
    I'm evaluating Flex 3 for a web development.
    I'm having problems with a web service invocation.
    This is the soap request made with Soap UI:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="
    http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"
    xmlns:open="
    http://www.openuri.org/">
    <soapenv:Header/>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <open:querySoftware>
    <open:imei></open:imei>
    <open:groupId></open:groupId>
    </open:querySoftware>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope
    <mx:WebService id="giService" wsdl="

    <mx:operation name="querySoftware">
    <imei>1<imei>
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    </mx:WebService>
    When invoking operation I get this error:

    wichi is not correct according to Soap UI request:
    <querySoftware>
    <imei></imei>
    <groupId></groupId>

    How could I construct the request to include the open:

  • Workshop Web Service Security

    We have a Workshop Web service, where we want to use digital signature for a particular soap header element. SO if any SOAP REQUEST used digital signature for this particular node them only webservices will be executed.
    Initially we are planning to use WSSE policy file for the web services using the "<b><additionalSignedElements></b>" in "<wsSecurityOut>" tag for Web service control to sign the soap message and "<wsSecurityIn>" tag for WEB SERVICE policy file to verify it. But it is signing the whole soap body and it was unable to verify the signature of particular node because we can not mention a particular element in "<wsSecurityIn>".
    Is it possible to implement this type of scenario using WSSE POLICY file or we have to write WEB SERVICE handler for verification ?
    What is the use of <additionalSignedElements> in "wsSecurityOut" tag because we can not use it in "wsSecurityIn" element to verify it.

    Why do you want to do that? Any specific use case? I think for SOA services, you have to use OWSM. You may refer -

  • Problem with RESTful web service

    I am running into a problem with Flex Web Services (REST) in trying to get the proper format returned. I can see that the HTTP header is set to
    Accept: */*;
    rather than
    Accept: application/xml
    when sending the request. The web service was generated via the web services HTTP data services wizard. I edited it to set the resultFormat to xml

    Hi,
    I have posted a simple application with the RESTful reference:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=13758
    I can give you full privileges on this so you can look at the WEB service reference. Shall I send to you separately for login user?
    It is using the RESTful service: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/nd_pat_miller/demo/employee/{deptno}
    This RESTful service tests fine when I test from within the RESTful web service module of the Workspace.
    I based this on the Video demo tutorial for RESTful web service that Oracle published for 4.2 release. The video seemed to exclude the {deptno} in the URL but when I try that, it doesn't work either.
    This is the error I am getting when I run this on my Apex environment: (it, of course, will not run the web service in the apex.oracle.com environment)

  • (266758030) Can WebLogic Workshop Web Services be deployed on a different Application Server?

    (266758030) Q(asked by Lalit Sudan): Can WebLogic Workshop Web Services be deployed
    on a different Application Server?
    A(by Adam Fitzgerald): .jws files are not yet an accepted standard so you can expect
    that the WebLogic Workshop Web Services cannot be ported to other Application Servers,
    however, it is a general goal to expand the functionality of the Workshop tool for
    other App Servers.

    Just so you'll know Oracle9iAS also includes apache as the HTTP server.
    As Suncan said, if you want to use Forms on the Web you need the Forms Server engine, and it comes bundled in Oracle9iAS. You'll save yourself a lot of headache if you just install Oracle9iAS and have everything pre-configured for you thus reducing maintanance costs.

  • Problem connecting to Web Services server

    Hello,
    I've had my printer running perfectly since I installed it 3 days ago but today I am nolonger able to use eprint. I can still scan and print from my home PC and laptop but I am unable to send emails directly to the printer now. This was working fine and I used the feature fairly often without error but today no emails arrived. When I logged on to the eprint web site using my google account {Personal Information Removed} the status of the printer said disconnected. I've tried deleting the printer and re-attaching it (which had no effect) and I've now tried disabling web services on the printer then re-enabling it. When I try this I now receive the following error: Problem connecting to Web Services server.
    The printer model is a HP Photosmart Premium C310a with the lastest software update. The printer is connected to my network via Wifi and is reachable and usable from all my PC's.
    It seems to me that there is something wrong with the software configuration on the printer, the reason I think this is because the screen interface slows down to a crawl after some use and when this happens it is not possible to switch the printer off via the power button. The only solution is to pull the power cable! This is something new and didn't happen before, is there a way to reset to factory default, the option in the menu doesn't seem to reset everything?
    Please advise ASAP.
    Thanks in advance,
    Stuart {Personal Information Removed}

    Greetings,
    The ePrint Service has been having some issues after the upgrade. The server team has found and fixed a bug in the latest release that affected connectivity. If you're having problems, please unregister your product (from the Web Services menu, select "Remove Web Services"), then register again (from the Web Services menu, select "Enable Web Services).
    After reregistering, I have been very successful using both ePrint and the Print Apps using my HP LaserJet CM1415. It has been staying connected, and promptly printing jobs I send to it. It has also been reconnecting after I powercycle. I sincerely hope you have the same experience. We had an ePrintCenter outage a few minutes ago that may have affected connectivity, but I am able to use ePrint and the Print Apps again as of 5:15 Mountain Time.

  • What is problem with my web services application?

    Hi Everyone, I have a question for you.
    I created a web service, and tried to call its method within a JSF application (developed by JSC2). Following is what I got:
    1) It works with TravelWS example.
    2) It works if I called my web services' methods from a standalone Java program.
    3) It does NOT work if I call it within my JSF applicationBean1() or JSP pages.
    4) After adding my own web services into my JSF through JSC IDE, I tested my methods provided by web services. Two of them are working. But rest of them do not.
    If it is the problem of my web service, why my standalone Java program works?
    If it is the problem of my JSF application configuration, why TravelWS example works?
    What can the problem be? Can someone give me some suggestions?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks both of you for the response.
    Here is my situation. The web service is developed by another team. And we are trying to call their methods in our JSF application. From the example provided by the web service team, I need to do following in my JSF code:
    myWebServiceLocator locator = new myWebServiceLocator();
    locator.setMyWebServiceSoapEndpointAddress( "http://mywebserviceurl./axis/services/myWebServiceSoap" );
    locator.setMaintainSession( true );
    this.myWebService = locator.getMyWebServiceSoap();
    The problem is that the locator above extends org.apache.axis.client.Service, however, the JSF generated client creates a javax.xml.rpc.Service object. I guess this might cause my problem.
    How to solve this?

  • SOAP Response from PL/SQL Web Service

    My returned SOAP xml from PL/SQL web service has totally rearranged element order, which defined in WSDL and oracle database. It also changed all element name from mixed upper/lower case to pure lower case and makes them hard to read. Why is that? Is there any way to avoid these to happen?
    My PL/SQL web service was generated by Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.3.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
    we need more details
    - it seems like you have both Return and OUT arguments; which SOAP stack are you using?
    - which tools?
    - What is the naming convention of your PL/SQL arguments?
    Kuassi
    Mike,
    1. The SOAP is the result of publishing a stored procedure/function as a Web service.
    2. The elements for returned data are re-ordered. The function returns no complex type.
    3. The element tags containing returned data are all changed to lower case.
    Here are what I expected for returning SOAP:
    <return xmlns:ns2="http://oracle817/IDemogprofilews.xsd" xsi:type="ns2:oracle817_ODemog">

  • SOAP timeout in Workshop web service

    i have aweb service created thru workshop that exposes session bean methods. the method calls take an inordinate amount of time to come back (around 10 mins) and the SOAP request times out. is there any way (synchronously) to bump up the timeout?

    I had to use a workaround. In the complex type (CFC) returned by the web
    service, I added two additional properties, success (boolean) and fault
    (string). That way, if validation fails, I set success to false and return
    validation messages in the fault property using syntax like this:
    . It communicates what the client needs to know but
    is not in the format I originally wanted to implement. I did find a clue
    about how to get control of the SOAP envelope in a comment made by Arthur
    Blake at the end of one of Ben Nadel's blog entries about using HTTP to
    consume a web service. He said he could customize the XML request/response by
    writing a "proxy" in ColdFusion that forwards to the real SOAP service. I
    never did figure out how to go about doing that, so if you happen to get
    your head around it, please post your solution. In general, I found that
    ColdFusion 8 doesn't play nicely with a pre-defined complex WSDL that
    import XSDs and doesn't honor a "required=no" setting in the property tag
    of a complex type's CFC when generating its WSDL dynamically. In fact, I
    have a whole list of "gotchas" on this... Didn't mean to write a book, but
    you opened an old wound that had just about healed. Good luck, Simon.  Hope
    I didn't douse too much water on your passion to move forward with this.

  • Problem calling a web service via SOAP ad.

    Hi,
    I need to call a web service in an synchronous RFC to Web service scenario.The provider of service said me that they are going to accept production order with the service they provide. However, service semms to have only 2 request parameters one is a string enumeration ("online" or "offline") but the other has no type. In WSDL it is shown as the following -
    -<s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="strFilenameOrXML">
    - <s:complexType mixed="true">
    - <s:sequence>
      <s:any />
      </s:sequence>
      </s:complexType>
      </s:element>
    When I try to test the web service with Altova XML Spy it gives me the error "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" .. at StokbarPlus.ProdService.WriteProdToSB(XmlNode strFilenameOrXML, IntegrationType EntegrasyonTip)..
    I guess the service is waiting for a xmlNode object...
    Is it possible to assign an XI message(coming from RFC) as an xmlNode object to an element of a webservice message and send it by using SOAP adapter?.
    I tried send the SOAP message by putting the whole xml(a sample order document) as a string constant in the strFilenameOrXML element and send but it did not work...
    How should I proceed?
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    -Tarik

    Hi,
    Problem is still unsolved.
    By the way I figured out that they are waiting the xml message inside strFilenameOrXML tag and tried to send it so. However it does not work. I have tried two different ways to send it.
    First one is by using messages in WSDL: did not work because special chars like <,> in the message that I am sending in the tag is escaped  .
    The Second way is using the data types that I developed, it did not work too since the receiver expects one of the inner node's namespace prefix to exist.
    I tried exporting the xsd of the message type, adding attributeFormDefault="qualified" to header, and reimporting it. It did not work, because it changes all nodes, but they want some specific node to be qualified.
    Any suggestions?

  • Problem creating j2ee web service

    Hello. I'm having an issue deploying a given java class as a web service. I believe that problem is caused because, in the generated WSDL, the target namespace is set via the package name (i.e. http://myapplication.mycompany.com ), which is not a valid host. I tried changing every occurrence of that URL, in the WSDL, to the context root of my local host, but it still can't resolve the bindings. • Problem calling a web Service from BI Publisher (10.1.3.2 )

    We have published a PL/SQL Web Service (from Jdeveloper 10.1.3 ) into a SOA Suite server.
    As requirements from BI Publisher , we chose Document/Literal, SOAP 1.1.
    The Program Unit accept an input parameter (we tried NUMBER & STRING)
    The result is an XML formatted (PL/SQL functions returns a CLOB then converted as a String).
    When testing the Service call from the SOA Suite console, no problems.
    We declined a page with APEX to test this Web Service too : Test is OK
    We added this web service as a data source in BI Publisher :
    After typing WSDL URL, Method, Parameter
    After testing , we do not get the XML result but an error message, coming from Apache AXIS (seems to be the DynamicInvoker) :
    not know how to convert '50740' into org.apache.axis.client.Call@cd7fdb
    Our demo is very near to this example : http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/11/01#a123
    and the one from the BI Publisher documentation

    I can't say I know the answer but I wanted to share a thought on debugging the issue. Like you I am seeing an axis error for a parameter on a web service I know works. I can call it using BPEL, SoapUI, etc... I suspect that perhaps BI pub is having trouble interpreting the WSDL for the web service. Specifically, I suspect that since I have imported schemas in the WSDL and nested imports in the supporting XSD files, the process is getting confused. The request message is fairly simple with three optional parameters but the WSDL does use an import via the WSDL. I wanted to share this since this problem often comes up with various tooling and I am lacking time to work out a test case to prove this theory out any time soon. I will try to post once I find some time to test this theory but it may be a while. Reading the results of someone else's test would be just as good!

    I am using Tomcat 5.0.19 . Could anyone suggest a possible solution to the same?
    The system works fine when I use a http endpoint.

    Hi,
    By default, your application tries to connect to the Net directly : if you have to specify a proxy, use either these lines in your code :
    System.setProperty("http.proxySet", "true");
    System.setProperty("http.proxyHost", "proxy");
    System.setProperty("http.proxyPort", "8080");
    Or specify them in the command line with the "-D"option.
    Ex : java .... -Dhttp.proxySet=true .... MyApp
    Hope it helps.
    See ya
