Solaris server hung when executes prstat or ps command
Hi all,
When we are executing prstat or pr command, the global zone and non global zone images are hungs.
kindly give some suggesstions to resolve
I've noticed huge latency while running prstat, ps type commands on certain systems running java-based applications.
This could be due to lock mgmt issues:

I would recommend you open a case with sun to find out more.

Jrockit 3.0.0-1.5.0 on Solaris 9 - coredump when executing java -version
Hi,
I installed jrrt-3.0.0-1.5.0 on a Solaris 9 virtual machine. When I set JAVA_HOME and PATH to point to the jrockit install and then execute java -version, I get a Segmentation Fault. Any idea why this would be happening? I don't see a core dump file being output so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot.
Thanks in advance for your help. We are trying to install JRockit to overcome some PermGen memory issues we are seeing while running WL 9.2.3 with Sun's Java 1.5.Hello,
First, make sure you have followed the installation instructions with regards to OS patches etc to the letter:
http://e-docs.bea.com/platform/suppconfigs/configs/solaris/solaris9_92.html
If you still get the segfault and get a text dump (jrockit.<pid>.dump) can you post it here in its entirety? If not, I suggest that you contact Oracle Support to get help. It is possible that you have OS configuration issues or are running in an unsupported configuration (the virtualizaton setup).

Webi processing server down when executing on bw query
Hi there,
I have an OLAP universe built on a BW query, which in turn is built on DSO. It returns around 100k records. If 20 objects are included in the webi query, the webi processing server will be down, with status of "starting..." (checked in CMC).
However, if I build a universe on the active table of DSO directly, the webi query executes perfectly even with 180 objects included.
I understand the performance difference between this two approach and it's acceptable. But the behavior of webi processing server is not acceptable. Does anybody else have this issue too?
My env is BOE XI 3.1 SP2
Thanks,
ChrisHi,
you should be at least on BW 7.01 SP05. Before that there is a 1 million cell limit in the interface and 100.000 Rows x 20 items is more than 1 million

Select from a linked server fails when executed as a join to database tables
Hi
I have been using the following TSQL to update a results table for several years it is currently running on SQL Express version 11.0.2100.60 (I have successfully run this on various versions and editions from 2005 onwards)
select c.Race_id , r.Runner_id , i.Time_secs
from CHAMPS INPUT]...Results I
join [dbo].[Race] c
on rtrim(I.Race)COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
= rtrim(c.Race_name)COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
join [dbo].[Runner] r
on rtrim(I.[Name]) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
= rtrim(r.First_Name)COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS + ' '
+ rtrim(r.Surname)COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
where i.Time_secs > 0
This worked earlier today then with no obvious change stopped working
No error is given but no rows are returned
running select * from [CHAMPS INPUT]...Results where Time_secs > 0 returns the expected rows
Any ideas where to look for the problemErland thanks for your reply. I have resolved the issue, it was caused by an error in updating the joined race table. I was looking for a problem with the linked server and missing the obvious.
Hi philpits,
You can try to use SQL Profiler to capture some events while run your query.
In addition, can you get expected result while run the query on remote server? Please also check your underlying tables.

How to execute a .cmd file in Solaris server
Hi all , How to execute a .cmd file in Solaris server.
Thanks.Basically you should have the execution flag associated to this cmd file. Check first if this file is builded for Solaris and then you can add the "x" flag to the file permissions.
You can too run it like this, but you should also check if this file is Solaris compatible : # sh <path/cmd file> -
Barcode error when executing it in Web Server, using BAR_CODE_39
Hello. following error is evidenced when executing the Barcode sample in web-server :
REP-108: File '/tmp/srw088834566' not found
The variable CLASSPATH y DISPLAY were changed.
I miss it the fact is that it works when I use BAR_CODE_128.
With 39 he encounters error REP-108.

Why "slow server alert" when NO running requests and NO open connections??
The snapshot below says it all. Why on earth would my dev machine with no running requests, and no open database connections, kick off a slow server alert?
I will tell you that at the exact same time this snapshot was generated, my other two servers WERE hung and were reporting "Unresponsive alerts", and they connect to the same databases. I am chasing down a chronic communication failure between our database and web servers where everything with a databae connection gets locked/hung at the same time every night, 7 days a week. The hang lasts anywhere from a few mins to 40+ mins.
Is this why my dev server would report slow? And if so, is it the skimmers or what that's causing a slow server alert?? Would it only report "Unresponsive" if there were actual page requests hanging, vs. a "Slow Server Alert"?
This is CF10 (update 12) 64-bit on Windows 2008 R2, IIS 7, connecting to separate Oracle 11g server.
Thanks for any insights.

krishnaiah.Hi,
This is usually a SERVER SIDE DATABASE PROBLEM or SQLNET LISTENER (server side) PROBLEM. The client side should initially be ignored and instead the server should be investigated. In rare cases, this can be caused by client
side memory or other resource problem, or a DLL version mismatch, but this is
unlikely.
Enlist the assistance of your DBA. Then reproduce the ORA-3113 error on your
client application. Ask your DBA to look at the database side Alert.log and
trace files and look for ANY activity. Any activity that coincides with your
ORA-3113 will be a clue.

SSRS Integrated mode failes (timeout) when executing lengthy reports.
Hi All,
I have SSRS 2008 R2 running in integrated mode with SharePoint 2010 foundation. The SharePoint farm and SSRS are both configured for Kerberos authentication. Both SSRS and SharePoint are working well. The vast majority of reports
compile in less than 30 seconds, users are generally happy.
Except, I have a couple of reports which take a long time to execute on the SQL side, I cant change this, that's just how it has to be. The simplest of the reports to explain is a report, with 1 parameter with four values, which performs
up to four actions on the SQL Server and then returns around two dozen rows of the result, typically the entire process completes in around 10 minutes. If I run this report via the ssrs /reportserver WFE the report always completes, results are presented
on screen, no issues whatsoever. When I run the same report from within SharePoint, its a different story, the report will complete only if I select just one of the four parameter actions, resulting in the total report execution time of
around 4 minutes, However when running the report with all four parameters selected, the loading spinner appears, then after 6 minutes, disappears entirely. The page returns to the parameter selection, no results are presented.
Having checked all the SSRS log files and ExecutionLogStorage table, they suggest that the report carries on building in the background, and then completed roughly 10 minutes after starting.
So my conclusion is that something in SharePoint does not like the extended duration of the report execution. But what is it, What triggers the 6 minute timeout?
Any help much appreciated.
Regards
DanHi danbridgland,
According to your description, there are a couple of reports in SSRS Sharepoint integrated mode. The query takes a long time to execute in SQL Server. When you run the report via Sharepoint WFE, the report works fine. When you run the report in Sharepoint
Application, the report will be displayed if you select one parameter value, if four values of the parameters are selected, the report disappears after 6 minutes’ loading.
In Native mode, SSRS uses a default timeout of 9000 seconds. In SharePoint integrated mode the timeout is reduced to 120 seconds. The timeout in SharePoint is actually related to the fact that reports are rendered using the http runtime. Any operation that
is launched from within SharePoint using the httpRuntime object has to complete within the timeout parameters. In this case, we can directly editing timeout in web.config by following steps:
Locate web.config for the SharePoint site you have configured for SSRS integration (default location: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80).
Open the file in an XML or text editor.
Navigate to httpRuntime element, inside the tag, add executionTimeout="9000".
In addition, in SharePoint integrated mode, reports typically run slower than when the same reports run in native mode. One main cause of this latency can be attributed to SharePoint object model calls that are made. For detail information, please refer
to the following document:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2216504
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Error when executing add-on in client's computer
Dear All experts/gurus,
I need your help. I have problem when executing/open an add-on (installed in server and can be executed using server computer without creating ard file) I've created in my client's computers. although it is automatically installed but when execute, the error comes which message is "wrong digital signature". I create ard file for every clients that want to execute/use add-on and succeed. It is okay that I can create ard file for 1-3 computers but if it 10-20 computers, it is wasting time. how to solve this problem, where all computers in clients site can execute the add-on without must create ard file in every computers ?
I appreciate your answer. tks in advance.Take a look at the "Package and Deployment" section in the SDK help file. This will guide you through how to install / launch your add-ons.
If you are using the standard SAP method documented there, you only need 1 ard file per release version of your add-on. You do not need to have a separate ard file on every client pc. The ard file includes in it a checksum (MD5) of your add-on executable. The ard file itself is only used during the "registration" process for an add-on. During registration, the checksum containined in the ard file and your add-on installer itself are both written to the Common database.
The error message "wrong digital signature" when the SAP add-on manager attempts to execute an add-on indicates that the executable version installed on that client does not match the one that was registered earlier. Most common causes are:-
a) You have manually copied a different executable onto the client pc
b) When creating the ard file, you selected a different add-on executable from the one you included in your installer.
When creating the ard file using the AddonRegDataGen program, make sure that you point the "Add-on EXE full path" to the version of the add-on executable that you are including in your installer. You will have to create a new ard file if you change the executable in the future, for example if you release a new version of your add-on.
