Forms 11g frmcmp gives Aborted (core dumped) error while compiling pll
Hello
We've installed oracle forms 11.1.2 on our linux server and are now trying to recompile all form objects from our previous release (10g).
All forms compile without much problems, but some pll's (not all) fail with the error: Aborted (core dumped).
Is there any way to find out what might be happening? I don't seem to find any log about what is causing this problem.
Any input or ideas are more then welcome.
Regards
Johan
Edited by: vanvojo on Sep 12, 2012 10:57 PMI had the same problem on my development machine; I solved it by converting all pll files to pld files with the 10g reports compiler and convert them back to pll with the 11g reports compiler. I noticed that the problem is most likely to occur on libraries having a lot of other libraries attached which are not converted to 11g yet, so it also might be that you can solve the problem by changing the compile-order. But anyway the reports compiler solved this problem for me without ordering the compilation steps ;)

Hi,
I have a JNI native library that calls a custom C++ shared library with a number of number of dependencies. At runtime, in the process of loading the custom C++ library, I got the folloing message.

Any help/assistance on this issue would be highly appriciated.

SomeshI ran into this exact same problem (on Solaris, JVM 1.4.1). Although I don't know the exact cause, I can tell you what I did to fix it..
Of course, this happens when you try to load a native library (a .so in this case). I ldd'd that .so, and found that it in turn was linked to two other libraries in my control, and some other OS libraries.
When I statically linked either one of my libraries, such that only one of the libraries under my control was still linked dynamically, leaving the OS libaries untouched, then the problem went away. Note that it didn't matter which one I linked statically- as long as one (or both) were static there was no problem.
My guess was that there were some sort of cyclic dependencies with these libraries, but right now I'm happy enough that it works, so I'm not going to try and pursue this further.. -

Installation stalls... Abort core dumped
Hi,
Can anyone please help!
I am trying to install BOE XI 3.1 on Solaris 10 <SPARC> on Solaris zones with Oracle 11g R2 database and Oracle 11g R2 32 bit client.
When the installer is at 40% <the stage where it tries to register the binaries> I get this error message
[error] [InstallSDK::Product::doInstallActions] Core detected after action: EarlyPostInstall.
I do know that Oracle 11g R2 is not certified, but there is no other 32bit oracle client for solaris sparc 64bit available. If it were a issue with the client, it would have stopped the installer earlier with a different error.
One thing to note is that the box on which the solaris zones is currently running on has 32 cores and the solaris zone has been assigned to use only 2 of them. Could it be a case, where the installer is looking at the cores in the box rather than the VM its running on during installation?
Cos the closest message I could find related with this error is that there is a third party memory handler in the installer that tries to allocate memory to the cores available and if the cores are greater than a certain number <64> the installer would hang.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? or could anyone point me in the right direction? Pls...libhoard related issues are only visible if you have more than 64 CPU cores, it is a better solution to allocate <64CPU cores to the envitonment running BOE.
However, if you still want to disable default memory allocator below are the steps :
WARNING :
Please use this at your own risk !! Better solution is to allocate less CPU cores. Product is tested with below memory allocator, disabling it might not be fully tested :
stop all Business Objects servers using the ./stopservers.sh or ./ccm -stop all scripts
go to the directory bobje/setup
create a copy of the env.sh script
in a text editor, like VI, edit and comment out the following lines by adding a pound sign "#":
before:
LD_PRELOAD="libhoard.so.1"
export LD_PRELOAD
after:
LD_PRELOAD="libhoard.so.1"
export LD_PRELOAD
Save the edited file
Now start all servers using the ./startservers.sh or the ./ccm.sh -start all script] -

Installation of patch set complete. PLEASE REBOOT THE SYSTEM.
when i tried to reboot the system by init 6 the service iscsi hanged and produced syslog errors about a unkown iocall -> killed the process. System rebooted w/o errors.
Does anyone have got an idea how to find out which patch or whatever do produce these errors?Hi,
I'm having the same issue of diskmon core dumps after upgrading grid and database from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.2 on Solaris 10 x86-64. Following this thread, I'm trying to deinstall the Oracle 11.2.0.1 grid home.
I answered the following questions asked by the grid deinstall tool:
1. ASM configuration was not detected in this Oracle home. Was ASM configured in this Oracle home (y|n): y
2. Specify the ASM Diagnostic Destination: /db01/app/oracle/diag/asm/+ASM
3. Specify the diskgroups that are managed by this ASM instance: DATA FRA
4. De-configuring ASM will drop all the diskgroups at cleanup time. Do you want deconfig tool to drop the diskgroups:
If I answer no to question 1, the tool exits with error.
How do I answer question #4? (confused about this question of dropping diskgroups, it's already been upgraded)
Deinstall of Oracle db Home 11.2.0.1 was successful.
The +ASM instance has been upgraded and is running fine under 11.2.0.2 except for the excessive diskmon core dumps.
Thanks,
Lisa

Weblogic core dumps with "SIGBUS 10* bus error"
I am getting a core dump when starting up my WL server. It seems to be
timing related. The WL startup class is causing the error.
The error does not occur if I do not deploy any EJBs. If I deploy one EJB
the error occurrs. If I deploy two or more EJBs the error does not occur.
The startup class is accessing the database.
Has anyone seen a similar error or know of a solution. Is this a supported
platform?
Environment info and the error dump follow. Thanks in advance.

Abort (core dumped)Weblogic does not dump core. The Java virtual machine does.
As for your problem, I would be willing to bet that this is a 122_05a
JVM. I would recommend downgrading to the versions that we certify.
The platform support page for WebLogic Server is located at:
http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/platforms/index.html
This page has the latest and greatest information on the platforms that
WebLogic is certified and supported on.

Install Error: Sol 8 2/02; Abort - Cort Dump
Hi
I am trying to install Solaris 8 version 2/02 on my Sun Blade 100 and I keep getting the following error after the system config screen: Assertion Failed: Have_ext_net_info (nc) == True File main.c, line 931 Abort - core dump.
I installed Sol 8 version 10/00 and applied the 8_Recommended.zip patches after my 4/01 CD's got scratched. I order the 2/02 version to replace my 4/01 CD's. The sun blade boots from 2/02 1 of 2 CD without a hitch. The set up screen requested the language english (choice 0 ) then a local: english (49/50). It then starts open windows. Then a beep with a blank screen.
A small screen appears in the upper left hand corner with the message: System coming up, please wait in.rdisc: no interface detected.
In the center of the screen is the screen containing the The Solaris install program: Click to continue: I do
Network Connnectivty screen: Networked or not: Yes
DHCP Yes or no: Yes
Host name: austin
IP address: 192.168.0.2
System part of a subnet? No (stand alone with a connection to internet. In prior installation I used the subnet mask 255.255.255.0.
Enable IPv6: no
Confirm Information screen:
After I click the button to continue, the box in the upper left reports the following message:
Assertion Failed: Have_ext_net_info (nc) == True File main.c, line 931 Abort - core dump.
Starting remote procedure call (RPC) services: sysidns done.
A small screen in the center System Identification status: Just a moment.
A this point the install process hangs indefinately. Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to resolve this issue?
Thanks
Douglas Sensenig
[email protected]Hello Douglas,
This is a known bug with Solaris 8 ( Sun Bug ID 4533342). It
does have an easy work around. In your answers to the
subnet question please answer yes... i.e
Network Connnectivty screen: Networked or not: Yes
DHCP Yes or no: Yes
Host name: austin
IP address: 192.168.0.2
System part of a subnet? YES
^^^^^
You can then give the subnet mask manually as 255.255.255.0
No idea when this iwll be fixed.

Core dump whith GetObjectClass
Hi there,
I am trying to fill up objects in a array received from the java code with an array of structures coming from a C function.
I am using the following code :
JNIEXPORT jint JNICALL Java_api_test_1accountarray (JNIEnv *env, jobject obj , jobjectArray x_account_array)
int ret=WIE;
jclass cls;
jfieldID accountID;
jobject account_obj;
jstring o_account_string=NULL;
ACCOUNTARRAY accountarray;
ACCOUNT *eltp;
int l_nbr_cptes=0;
jsize i;
printf("Java_api_test_1accountarray\n");
C function call
ret=listaccount("TEST", "", accountarray, TIMEOUT);
printf("Retour api :%d\n", ret);
/* ok here */
for(i=0; i<APIACCOUNT_SIZE_ACCOUNTARRAY; i++)
eltp=&(accountarray);
if(eltp->accounts[0]=='\0')
break;
l_nbr_cptes++;
account_obj= (*env)->GetObjectArrayElement(env, x_account_array, i);
/* ok here */
cls=(*env)->GetObjectClass(env, patio_account_obj);
/* coredump here when assigning cls */
accountID = (*env)->GetFieldID(env, cls, "accounts", "Ljava/lang/String;");
o_account_string=(*env)->NewStringUTF(env,accountarray[i].accounts);
(*env)->SetObjectField(env,account_obj,accountID, o_account_string);
(*env)->SetObjectArrayElement(env, x_account_array, i, account_obj);
printf("nbrecomptes en C : %d\n", l_nbr_cptes);
return l_nbr_cptes;
Not a single compile error.
Running : java -Xcheck:jni api

Any help appreciated.
Sincerely,
John GALLETSolution : sort of.
The pointer I got from GetObjectArrayElement, for whatever reason, is NULL. So passing it along caused a coredump...
I spent a lot of time of that stupid mistake, and I guess I am going to spend even more on understanding WHY it is NULL, now...

Help: dbx core dump, solaris 10, amd64
Hi,
Recently I run into the following when I debug a core dump,
(dbx) where
dbx: internal error: signal SIGSEGV (no mapping at the fault address)
dbx's coredump will appear in /tmp
Abort (core dumped)
-bash-3.00$ dbx -V
Sun Ceres DBX Debugger 7.7 SunOS_i386 2008/10/22
For information about new features see `help changes'
To remove this message, put `dbxenv suppress_startup_message 7.7' in your .dbxrc
(dbx)
I wonder if anyone has some idea of this bug, is it known? Is it fixed in sunstudio 12 u1?
If needed, I can supply /tmp/core dumped by dbx.
Thanks,-bash-3.00$ cat /etc/release

Per this suggestion to uninstall xscreensaver and install light-locker, I decided to give this a whirl using the latest xfce4 packages. I find light-locker core dumping when I try to use it. Anyone else?
% light-locker
process 1737: arguments to dbus_message_new_method_call() were incorrect, assertion "path != NULL" failed in file dbus-message.c line 1340.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
[1] 1737 abort (core dumped) light-locker
EDIT: this has nothing to do with the xfce4 packages in [testing]. I get the same error using 4.10 from [extra].
EDIT2: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/44085
Last edited by graysky (2015-03-07 16:22:41)I installed this and tried it on 2 separate laptops for you and got the same error on both. One has testing and community testing repository enabled and the other doesn't but exactly the same error on both. Newbie to linux but hope that helps.

SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION cause (core dumped) Segmentation fault
When I run report under Concurrent manager, i.e. within Oracle Applications I get this error:
(core dumped) Segmentation fault.
I use SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION in After Parameter Form. When I remove SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION report runs fine.
I tried following in the command line:
$ ar60runb report=/PATH_TO_RDF_FILE/NAME.rdf batch=yes destype=file desname=/PATH_TO_OUTPUT_FILE/NAME.out desformat=XML
and I get this error:
ar60runb: uisfz.c:173: uisfzfn_Fns: Assertion `0' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
When I remove "batch=yes" or use "batch=no" everything passed fine.
I get the same result when I use .RDF file without SRW.APPLY_DEFINITION in the code.
I have applied the solution from Note:368457.1 but it didn't help.
I want to set "batch=no" when I run report under Oracle Applications or just resolve this problem somehow.

Hi - We are currently using dbxml for many years successfully on CentOS and FreeBSD. Recently,we have been trying to get our dbxml application to run on Joyent's SmartOS platform.
Through the help of Joyent, we are able to build sbxml 2.5.16 binaries on smartos. Build ntes here:
https://github.com/joyent/smartos-live/issues/236
However, when we run the application, the java core dumps - both on jdk 7 and jdk 6. Same code runs find on other platforms. Core dump is included in the above post. Not sure if anyone here might have an idea on what is causing this.Hi Lauren,
Thanks for the response. Here is what I posted about this on the smartos forums. They helped me in getting dbxml to compile on smartos. Including using an xquilla patch:
OK, so the build problem you're having there appears to be an error in the C++ source for xqilla. This diff appears to fix that:
--- pristine/dbxml-2.5.16/xqilla/src/items/DatatypeFactoryTemplate.hpp 2009-01-07 11:46:13.000000000 +0000 +++ dbxml-2.5.16/xqilla/src/items/DatatypeFactoryTemplate.hpp 2013-07-11 08:17:00.638395661 +0000 @@ -79,7 +79,7 @@ AnyAtomicType::Ptr createInstance(const XMLCh* value, const DynamicContext* context) const { - return createInstanceNoCheck(DatatypeFactoryTemplate<TYPE>::getPrimitiveTypeURI(), + return this->createInstanceNoCheck(DatatypeFactoryTemplate<TYPE>::getPrimitiveTypeURI(), DatatypeFactoryTemplate<TYPE>::getPrimitiveTypeName(), value, context); }
Here is the post about the core dump:
Hi - OK, so apparently, the newly compiled code core dumps the JVM every time I try to call the openContainer method.
At first, I thought this was a code issue or a jdk 7 issue. However, I've compiled dbxml on smartos via the instructions in above thread using both jdk 6 and jdk 7 and I get the same core dump on the same call.
Also, tested the code on jdk 7 and jdk 6 on FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris and everything works OK.
I also thought it was a problem with my data, but I tried this create a fresh container using dbxml shell.
Same thing. So it seems to be a problem with the dbxml build specific to smartos.
Anyone have any ideas on where I can start looking for a solution?
