  • [SOLVED] dwm Compiling Error

    Hello,
I am running dwm, and I love how simple and light it is. I edited my config.h few times and compiled it and it was fine. The last time I tried, it gave me an error. I could not figure that out. I tried to use a valid config.h from the internet in case I missed my config.h up, and I tried to re-install it. Nothing worked. This is the error that I get when I run the command makepkg -efi --noconfirm:

No, you were not missing "some graphical libraries that you didn't incluce in the config.h file". It looks like, as jasonwryan said, you copied functions into your config.h without checking how they work. Thus, you ended up having functions that use variables you never define in config.h (and there's alot of those!)
Next time, either stick to already working patches found at suckless.org, or give some effort and at least try to figure out what is wrong with the code you randomly copied.

  • [SOLVED] DWM Compile Errors

    Hey guys,
I'm new to arch linux, and newish to linux in general. I'm trying to compile dwm and keep running into the same error. I have been trying to follow the wiki entry on dwm to a T but have not had success thus far.
    Currently what I've done is:
    1. update abs
    2. copy makepkg files to ~/dwm
    3. edit config.h, save
    4. makepkg -f >> PKGFILE
    5. makepkg -efi
    Then I get this
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate
    thanks

Well, its definitely possible that I misunderstood the process of compiling. i thought you needed to edit dwm's config.h before you compiled it...
IE you get a bunch of config files, edit them, then make an installable package out of them.
in other words i thought I *was* following the wiki...but now I see that I mixed up the steps a little bit..
So basically config.h doesn't have to be messed with then compiled...

I just got the latest one off of the repo at git.suckless.org/dwm. the page says 6.0 but my config.mk says version 6.1. I did try the 6.0 version but the patch had errors. I am a little confused. The other patches come back with errors too. I am using an unpatched version at the moment so I would think most patches should work.
    What should I do?

I was using a very stock version of DWM. Now I want to get my hands dirty and customize it more.

  • [SOLVED] DWM - how do you apply patches with patch?

I'm totally new to dwm (it's working great by the way) and patching. I'm having problems understanding how to use the patch program. The basic usage on dwm site says basically:
    patch -p1 < path/to/patch.diff
Great, now I have the patch file ~/builds/dwn/patch/dwm-5.9-statuscolors.diff and my altered ~/builds/dwn/config.h. Here's what I did
    herman@sam ~/builds/dwm $ patch -p1 <patch/dwm-5.9-statuscolors.diff
can't find file to patch at input line 4
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:

Ok thanks but I'm confused again (I know..). I managed to patch the files config.def.h and dwm.c in the source dir and noticed there is yet another config.h file there as well. Now, the in the top level dir with the PKGBUILD I also have a config.h, which is the one I do my config changes. I'm confused because I now have these three header files (2x config.h + config.def.h) which are supposed to have the same source code? I've read around on the net, but haven't gotten any further answers yet. What are the purpose of each config and how should I use/update/manage them when recompiling? This is my situation:

ber_t wrote:A vanilla dwm compiles fine with your config.h. So I guess you're using other patches that rearrange the #include directive for config.h in dwm.c, e.g. pertag. If that's the case, you have to put the moveresize function in dwm.c and declare it before config.h get's included, just like any other function in dwm.c.
Yes I had dwm.c patched with pertag. Vanilla compiles fine. Thanks!

    Hi,
Search AutoConfig for afcpctx.sh, you should find more details about the error around the filename.
For the patch error, please search the workers log files for details about the error -- Log files can be found under $APPL_TOP/admin/<SID>/log directory (search for adwork*.log).

  • How i can solve 6753 airport error

how i can solve 6753 airport error?

IIRC, it's not uncommon to spot this after a firmware update to 7.6.1.  And IIRC, wasn't there a 7.6.2 release today?  Unplug the express, plug it back in, and generally this should self-resolve.

  • How to solve Audition CS6 error "The amount of audio to burn will not fit on the CD........."?

I have a brand new PC that is MORE than adequate. I have once succeeded in burning a CD after learning all about time tracks and merging them. (made a few with only ONE track)
    Two things:
    1) I find that I must add a CD marker at the end of the WAV because Audition CS6 erases whatever is the last CD marker I've made. Very frustrating but now I know I have to do this but I have no idea WHY!!
    2) Right now I have a WAV that is just over 1 hour and 3 minutes with a total of 637.74MB of info. When I try to export/burn a CD, I get an error message stating "The amount of audio to burn will not fit.......".  I am using TDK 700MB blanks with a Pioneer Blu-ray burner.
    Obviously it will fit.
What am I doing wrong, all of a sudden?

    Hey ryclark,
Thanks for responding. Something else is going on here.....
    Here's what I re-replied to our friend...
    Thanks for the response.
When I built this computer last Nov/Dec, it was built with the second
fastest Intel 7i, quad-core chipset on an 64-bit ASUS motherboard. It's  running
Win 7 Pro. It has a 500GB SSD "C" drive with another 14 TB of true hard
drive space. It is set up with 64 bit. I had been using Audition CS3 for  many
years and even go back to it's origin: Cool Edit and Cool Edit Pro. My
learning curve was minimal, sans the CD burning, which I used other software
for  which is now antiquated, so I need Audition for this. Between this and
IZotope 3 I've repaired and improved many a recording. All-in-all extremely
    useful software.
As for the idea "to burn it anyway", well the error message comes up and
that's it - if I "X" out of that message and try to burn again the message
comes  back  - so Audition will not let me. It is convinced that this file is
longer than it really is, but only when I add track  marks to it!
    There are only 11 tracks.
I was able to burn a CD of this same file but without all the track marks,
so the same exact file length/size will burn, only as the one track.
I've also succeeded in burning other WAV's , both greater and smaller, with
and without multiple track marks, without issue. Of course all with less
    than the CD's max. capacity.
This problem seems to be with this one file. I've even  re-made/re-recorded
the file from scratch with no change. There's something else  going on here
that I can't put my finger on. (I am "recording" LP's and making  personal
    CDs of them)
Also, only from time to time, I have another error after burning a CD that
states it could not verify the CD. For this I assume it is the blank rather
than AA? The first might burn without issue and with the second burn I
get the error. It is near the end of a stack of blanks, so.....
As for the need to "mark the end" of the file makes a lot of sense but of
all the other CD track-marking software I've used, none needed one to do
this,  but this IS Adobe after all.
You'd think there might be a smidge of intuitiveness with Adobe, but maybe
    not.

  • Patch error...dammit :)

I installed the patch and got:
svrmgrl: error in loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.8.0: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
    Applying patch 8.1.5.0.1 .....done
    Applying patch 8.1.5.0.2 .....done
Did it load? Or is that error serious? Do I need to correct something and then reinstall it?
Also, I can't run dbassist like many people I see have had problems with. Unable to initialize threads: cannot find class java/lang/Thread
    Could not create Java VM
Anyway...I decided to try and install the patch..then try again and if that doesn't work...I'm going to try installing a later version of the JVM other than 1.1.6 like Oracle says to use. If anyone knows a way around that error I'd appreciate it!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU...in advance.
    -Julie

AFAIK, you do not have to rerun the root.sh script.
I have already upgraded to 8.1.5.0.2.
That patch error may be related to the relinking script bug that I have posted earlier.
Basically, what I found out is that if you did not install some/all of the oracle options, the relinking will fail. The relinking script I think assumes that all the options (and related lib file) are installed, which in my initial installations were not.
If you apply only the 8.1.5.0.1 patch, svrmgrl and sqlplus will still report 8.1.5.0.0. If you apply the .0.2 patch, in my case (when I did not install the options), I cannot run svrmgrl and therefore unable to create a database.
    Check your /tmp/81501.log and /tmp/81502.log.
Do a grep for "No such file"
    If grep returns:
/usr/sbin/ld: -lxxxx No such file or directory, the relinking has failed.
    null

  • How to solve the 404 error

    Hi,
How to catch or solve the 404 error in application.
Some time we are giving some file name but that file is not avialable at that time it will give 404 error. how to avoid this error.
If 404 error comes i want call some other file. Is it posible.
    Thanks Advance.

Yes, this is because IE 5.5 (?) and higher have this wacky "Show friendly HTTP error messages" setting. You can disable this by going to tools -> internet options -> advanced and unchecking "Show friendly HTTP error messages". However as the default IE setting has "Show friendly HTTP error messages" enabled this isn't a good solution.
I believe that if your error page is less than a certain size (in bytes) then IE defaults to it's own error page when "Show friendly HTTP error messages" are enabled. This size is something like 512 bytes or fewer in length.
So basically try making your error page larger (more than 512 bytes in size) and see if that works.
