[SOLVED] fatal: repository '' does not exist

Ive written a nice little Python library for ADB and Fastboot and figured I would use the opportunity to create my first AUR package, however, Im having some (hopefully) minor issues.
# Maintainer: Edvard Holst <edvard.holst at gmail>
pkgname=python2-pyand-git
pkgver=0.9.1.2
pkgrel=3
pkgdesc="A python wrapper library for ADB and Fastboot"
arch=('any')
url="https://github.com/Zyg0te/pyand"
license=('MIT')
depends=('python2' 'python-setuptools')
makedepends=('git')
source=('git+https://github.com/Zyg0te/pyand.git')
md5sums=('SKIP')
package() {
msg "Connecting to github server...."
if [[ -d $_gitname ]] ; then
( cd "$_gitname" && git pull origin )
msg "The local files are updated."
else
git clone "$_gitroot" --depth=1
fi
msg "GIT checkout done or server timeout"
cd "$_gitname/../../"
sudo easy_install-2.7 pyand
mkdir -p "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname/"
cd "src/$_gitname/"
cp LICENSE "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname/LICENSE"
With this, I get the following error when installing..

Further improvements can still be made. For example, you should still double quote all instances of $pkgdir and $srcdir.
cd $srcdir/$pkgname/../
Is completely redundant -- you always start in $srcdir, and that is a really odd way of getting to it even if you didn't.
You should write a pkgver function to automatically update the pkgver value each time you run makepkg (explanation is in the wiki link I posted a few posts ago)
I'll see if your packages 'builds' fine in a clean chroot when I get home. In the meantime, you could check your package+PKGBUILD with namcap to see if there are any other improvements you can make.
The first thing I found was your pkgver doesn't work
==> Starting pkgver()...
fatal: No names found, cannot describe anything.
The repository doesn't have any tags, so git describe isn't very useful here. You would be better off using the final git example on the wiki page.
The next problem I found, is that you haven't included the package that provides easy_install-2.7 in the makedepends array. You have, instead, declared the wrong package in the depends array. Note that packages with "python-" at the start of their name are actually python3 packages, whereas your package needs python2.
The next thing I noticed is that you've included pacman as a dependency. You don't need to do that, you can assume that anyone installing the package has pacman installed, this is the Arch User Repository, after all.
Finally, the completed package doesn't have any binary files in it, so nothing is compiled for a specific architecture. In this case, you can drop 'i686' and 'x86_64' from the arch array, and replace them with 'any'.
A further point of interest, is that, what I assume to be the main python file, ADB.py, has a shebang calling /usr/bin/python. This may not be a problem if it isn't meant to be called directly, but will cause problems if it is, and expects to get python 2.x. On ARch, /usr/bin/python is a symbolic link to /usr/bin/python3. Ideally, this shebang should be replaced with '#!/usr/bin/python2', or even better '#!/usr/bin/env python2'. This should be done upstream, but can be done in the PKGBUILD, in a prepare function, using sed.
If the script can be called with either python2 or python3, then the shebang doesn't need to change, and actually complies with PEP394.

  • Content repository does not exist

    Hi,
    Kindly see the way we are creating the SAP content repository pointing to an external content repository which is our own DMS server. Our server is returning the success status in CSAdmin.  But customizing is being shown as missing.
    When I click on Test Connection, then I get the error CMS 106 content repository does not exist.
    It seems as the content repository created by us is visible in the content repository list, entry is there in TOAAR table too, still somehow SAP system thinks that it doesnt exist.
    We are working by logging into quality testing client.  Kindly suggest do we need to login into customizing client to solve this problem. And also suggest is transporting necessary to complete the content repository creation.
    Is it related to contentserver.ini file, do we need to see whether there's entry in it.
    Kindly help.
    With Regards
    Neha

    in customizing  of the archiving object is a field where you specify an indicator for the content repository.
    (go SARA -enter archiving object - click customizing button - click technial settings)
    As archiving objects are customized in DEV and transported to PRD systems,  here often an indicator for the DEV content repository is transported to PRD.
    But usually you dont have customizing for the DEV conentent repository in PRD to avoid that you write into the wrong content repository.

  • "A valid repository does not exist at the specified connection" when connecting

    Hi all,
    I'm using ODI 11g and Oracle Database 11g EE.
    I've installed ODI without any errors, and chose to skip repository configuration during installation.
    I created the Master and Work Repositories with the RCU that was provided in the same media pack as the ODI installation files.
    After starting ODI, clicking "Connect To Repository..." and inputting the correct credentials I get the following error:
    A valid repository does not exist at the specified connection...
    http://pastie.org/pastes/8081847/text?key=grna09suyra4w0vgitbxiw
    Has anyone had this error before, can anyone help?
    Thanks!
    Josh.

    Josh,
    Looks like the RCU did not create the repository in the intended schema for some reason. you can check the schema for the ODI tables (SNP_*) presence.

  • [SOLVED] /sbin/init does not exist error on boot

    Hi all,
    Let me first say that Arch Linux is a great distribution and I couldn't be more happier with it! Thanks to everyone who is involved in building it.
    However, as the subject line suggests, I have run into a problem. I have tried every trick in my book and every suggestion on Google but the problem still persists.
    The setup
    * UEFI boot loader on /dev/sda1
    * BTRFS file system on /dev/sda2 in __active subvolume
    * The system was installed in Jan using the latest install CD (I presume systemd changes were already applied)
    The problem
    Booting halts on rEFInd screen
    What I have tried
    Since the last pacman command upgraded git and kernel to 3.7.6-1 (this is not the first kernel upgrade on this system)my first idea was to rollback to 3.7.5-1 which results in /sbin/init not found error.
    Re-installing 3.7.6-1 halts the system on rEFInd boot screen. I tried booting from rEFI shell and it results in the same /sbin/init not found error (on 3.7.6-1 kernel) so I presume that's the main issue here.
    From there on (as suggested by various posts online) I have verified that rEFInd points to the correct root partition. Also, I've tried passing /bin/systemd explicitly but the error still persists.
    I can boot into Live install environment and chroot into the setup on my drive. I have checked that /sbin/init exists (as well as /bin/systemd).
    I am out of options here. Any help will be much appreciated.
    Please let me know if you require any other information from me.

    OK, now that I have marked the __active subvolume as default I can boot (using EFI shell) without using the rootflags=subvol=__active kernel parameter.
    However, rEFInd boot loader is still not working (with or without rootflags=subvol=__active). Unfortunately I don't see any error messages as the system hangs at rEFInd boot screen.
    Here's my archlinux.nsh (that I use to boot through EFI shell):
    echo -on
    \EFI\arch\vmlinuz-arch.efi root=PARTUUID=626f545b-44f5-4a72-b1f3-d942fbcd0b46 ro rootfstype=btrfs add_efi_memmap systemd.unit=graphical.target initrd=\EFI\arch\initramfs-linux.img rootflags=subvol=__active
    Here's my refind_linux.conf from (/boot/efi/EFI/arch)
    "Boot with defaults" "root=PARTUUID=626f545b-44f5-4a72-b1f3-d942fbcd0b46 ro rootfstype=btrfs add_efi_memmap systemd.unit=graphical.target rootflags=subvol=__active"
    "Boot to terminal" "root=PARTUUID=626f545b-44f5-4a72-b1f3-d942fbcd0b46 ro rootfstype=btrfs add_efi_memmap systemd.unit=multi-user.target rootflags=subvol=__active"
    Any idea why booting through EFI shell would work but not through rEFInd?
    Is it worthwhile rebuilding /boot?

    Please suggest me some solution.

    Dear all,
    my issue is resolved.I solved my issue myself
    solution: SAP sends HTTP request in the form of URL like
    http://serverip:port/GET /Default.aspx?serverInfo&pVersion=0045&contRep=FD HTTP/1.0
    Now your response should contain string  contRep="FD"
    dont forget double quotes on repository name coz SAP program matches string with double quotes. if you will return value like this contRep=FD
    this will through error.
    Thanks

    I have nearly 50 mapping in this repository.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi!
    I know I'm late with this post, but I'll post it anyway for future reference!
    I encountered the same problem and found out that I had a trailing space in my login name, so check for any traling spaces at login to OWB-designer!
    (From the error message pasted in your question it seems you have a space in the beginning)
    That solved the problem for me.

  • SRM MDM, Error, "Table with Code 'null' does not exist in repository"

    Hi experts,
    We has SRM MDM scenario, while doing OCI settings, we are able to connect with MDM repository but getting follwoing error message in portal, "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Table with Code 'null' does not exist in the repository 'Repository' or is one of the system table (e.g. Workflows) that is not exposed in repository schema"
    Can You please suggest,
    Thanks and Regards,
    Munish

    Hi everyone,
    Sudhanshu and Anshuk:- Thanks for your response, let me try and explain the real scenario in details:-
    We have deployed the SRM-MDM Catalog Search UI in Portal.
    We tried accessing the http://<Portal Host>:<Portal Port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
    Then we got a screen (Search UI App screen), where in we have provided the MDM Server name, then the MDM Server Password, then presses the Connect button, then below this, it displayed the Repository name created in the MDM. We have selected the Repository, then provided the Credentials of a User (Name: T_CORP) in MDM which has "Catalog Manager", and the "UI Configuration Manager" Roles. Please note that these Role names were created by us in MDM. Is it the right procedure or do we have any standard Roles delivered by SAP in MDM to map? If any standard Roles are available, where we need to check these.
    Once the Credentials of MDM User is provided, and then selected the "Login" button.
    Then we are getting the below error.
    "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Table with Code 'null' does not exist in the repository 'Repository' or is one of the system table (e.g. Workflows) that is not exposed in repository schema"
    Please clarify; we are not configuring any values in iViews. Where we need to do this, I mean name of the iView, and what values do we need provide generally? We are just running the Search UI App application; I don't think it is an iView, because the URL shows the Application name details, etc...
    Please guide us, how to fix this Error.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Munish

  • SOLVED: Mounting IDE ZIP Drives, "Special Device hdb4 Does Not Exist"

    I thought I would post a follow-up, since I have finally resolved this long standing issue, which has plagued me since my first days with Linux many years ago.
    As outlined in my original post below, every time I would attempt to access a Zip disk for the first time since boot, Linux (pretty much all distros I have ever tried, with the exception of SuSE 9.3) would fail to mount the disk and report back that "Special device hdb4 does not exist". Of course the "hdb4" part varies from distro to distro and machine to machine, depending on how your Zip disk is connected and how the distro names its disks, but the basic error has been constant. I have always worked around it by redoing the mount command specifying just the device, not the partition, and while that would always fail, it would force the creation of the device /dev/hdb4, and I could carry on. Annoying but effective.
    FINALLY, a long term answer. I got my inspiration from a really snarky post I read in another online forum where someone had posted this very same question (this is a very common problem with no common answer it seems!). The respondant, who completely failed to provide a helpful answer, basically said "listen, the OS is telling you what is wrong - the device hdb4 doesn't exist - so fix it, and all will be just fine". Of course, the respondant didn't even bother to offer a suggestion about HOW to fix it.
    However, therein lies the inspiration for the solution. Indeed they are right, /dev/hdb4 *doesn't* exist, so how to fix that? They had a point. I started researching the mysteries of mknod, a program that can create /dev files, and the even deeper mysteries of Linux device numbers, both major and minor.
    In the end, I found a wonderfully informative document that described the current standard for the device numbering scheme used by mknod, and Linux in general. The key things of interest are this:
    1/ The major number for IDE based drives is 3.
    2/ IDE allows for 64 partitions per device, so the minor numbers are 0-63 for device "a", 64-127 for device "b" and so on. You derive the minor number of interest for your particular device by taking the starting value of the minor number range of interest for your device and adding the partition number to it. So, for example, hdb4 would have a minor number of 64 (the start of the minor number range for device "b") plus 4 (the partition number in "hdb4"), yielding a result of 68.
    3/ The major number for SCSI based drives, or those that your OS treats as SCSI, is 8.
    4/ SCSI allows for 16 partitions per device, so the minor numbers are 0-15 for device "a", 16-31 for device "b" and so on. You derive the minor number of interest for your particular device by taking the starting value of the minor number range of interest for your device and adding the partition number to it. So, for example, sdb4 would have a minor number of 16 (the start of the minor number range for device "b") plus 4 (the partition number in "hdb4"), yielding a result of 20.
    In my case, Arch seems to be treating all of my disk based devices as SCSI, perhaps because I do have a real SCSI interfaced Jaz drive in my machine. So, the Zip disk of interest in my machine is sdc4 (my real SCSI jaz is sda, my Arch root is sdb, and the IDE Zip is sdc). Applying the above, for /dev/sdc4:
    - The major number is 8.
    - The minor number is 32 (start of range for device "c") plus 4 (the partition number) = 36.
    Armed with this knowledge, I su'd to root and entered:
    # mknod /dev/sdc4 b 8 36
    and like magic, there is was, /dev/sdc4. I popped a disk into the drive and my first attempt to access it was greeted with success, not the usual "device does not exist" error! By the way, the "b" in the above command is just part of the mknod syntax, and indicates that I am creating a block device (vs. a character device, or some other type of device - disk drives all seem to be "block" devices for apparent reasons).
    SO, determine your major number by device type (it will usually be 3 or 8), compute your minor number by device letter and partition number, and add a mknod command to your system startup (so you don't have to do it manually every time) and you are done! No more annoying "device does not exist" errors.
    Now for the kicker. It turns out that this information has been available under my nose all along. I just didn't recognize the code. If you do the following:
    # ls -ald /dev/sd*
    Linux obligingly provides you with the major number and the start of the minor number range for your device. Since Linux has always detected the Zip *device* (just not the partition) this is really all you need to know. When I issue the above command, I get an output like:
    brw-rw----  1  root  disk  8,   32   date   time   /dev/sdc
    Guess what, there they are! "8" is the major number of interest, "32" is the start of the minor number range of interest. If I had just recognized that, and known that all I had to do was add the partition number to the minor number to get the magic number to feed into mknod, things would have been easier.
    Sorry for the long post, but like so many things in Linux, the OS doesn't make this easy on the uninitiated. I sincerely hope that this post may help lots of other people to resolve this vexing and longstanding problem.

    Solved!
    See the lengthy response in this post:
    http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=36468
    I posted the solution separately, with the most informative title I could come up with, so that others Googling this topic on the web may hopefully easily find it.

  • Error while creating connection pool "FATAL: database "null" does not exist

    Hi,
    Iam trying to create a XA connection pool using postgres driver (postgresql-8.3-603.jdbc3.jar) on Weblogic 8.1.6.0 from the Admin Console.
    I have provided the following info in the JDBC config
    Driver Class Name: org.postgresql.xa.PGXADataSource.
    JDBC URL: jdbc:postgresql://192.168.192.112:5432/sample1
    UserName: postgres
    Password: Postgres
    When i click Test Driver Configuration. Iam getting the following error
    "FATAL: database "null" does not exist"
    if i change the Driver Class Name to "org.postgresql.Driver", it is working fine. But as iam trying to create XA datasource i need to use the XA Driver class name.
    Can someone tell me how to resolve this issue ?
    The postgres version iam using is 8.3.1

    Hi Joe,
    The driver is in the classpath.
