[SOLVED] How do I play .mp3 in mocp by clicking on it in the file mgr?

I'm running Openbox and PCmanFM.
I'm using Sakura as my terminal.
I've set up a ~/.local/share/applications/mocp-usercreated-0.desktop as:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=mocp
Exec=/usr/bin/sakura -e '/usr/bin/mocp -T white_on_black'
MimeType=audio/mpeg
Icon=exec
NoDisplay=true
and my ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list is:
[Default Applications]
audio/mpeg=mocp-usercreated-0.desktop
but when I open PCmanFM, navigate to my Music directory and click on any .mp3 file it doesn't work.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Thanks Liquid. What you suggested didn't quite work but it got me thinking.
I took what you suggested, played around with it and eventually solved the problem with the following mocp-single.sh script:

/usr/bin/mocp -cap $1 & /usr/bin/sakura -e '/usr/bin/mocp && killall mocp'

How to extract an mp3's url from m3u playlist (and download the file)?

hello!
I've managed to get automator to retrieve (and save to hdd) an .m3u playlist from a radio's website that broadcasts a program I like in mp3.
inside this m3u playlist is the link an actual mp3... both the m3u and the mp3 change every week.
If I drag the m3u to TextEdit it opens up and I can see the 3 lines of "source code" of which the last line is the full url of the mp3 file (http://www.thatradiosurl.com/audio/shownumber.mp3)
My question is as follows: how do I get automator to 'extract' that url and save that file to my hard drive (so I can automatically add it to a playlist in itunes (and retrieve the show on my ipod at sync))??
I'll save the final workflow as an iCal event that will hopefully grab this show every week.
before you ask... no, that show is not available as a podcast! I wish it were... I think they're a bit slow on catching up with the tech.

You already got the playlist into a text file, you have two options:
1. use Automator's 'Get Link URLs from Webpages' action to extract the URL. 'Get Link URLs from Webpages' is under Safari lib.
2. run Automator Python script from 'Get Link URLs from Webpages' in AppleScript. The script below with get your mp3 URLs:
set playlist_file to "/path/to/playlist/file.txt" -- change to your actual playlist file path
set _URLs to do shell script "/System/Library/Automator/Get\\ Link\\ URLs\\ from\\ Webpages.action/Contents/Resources/links file://" & quoted form of playlist_file
set mp3_URLs to ""
repeat with _URL in paragraphs of _URLs
if _URL contains ".mp3" then set mp3_URLs to mp3_URLs & _URL & (ASCII character 10)
end repeat
mp3_URLs is the list you want you extract.

The Deskjet series printers connect to wireless networks with what is called USB to Wireless.

Yup use the low level File I/O opening the reference once, and closing it once.
As for the path selection you have an unwired input which is the path to use. Programatically set that and you won't be prompted to select a path. Usually this is done with a path constant to a folder, then using the Build Path, to set the file name in that folder.

Erased what files? You say "tried" to move it to the trash... I assume that means that you were not successful?
Removing an app from LaunchPad requires deleting the app. In general, if you're trying to delete an app that was installed from the App Store, simply open the LaunchPad, click and hold on the app icon in the LaunchPad until all the icons start "wiggling," and then click the 'X' at the top left corner of the app's icon. If the app was not installed from the App Store, you need to use whatever uninstaller was provided by the developer of that app.

[solved] I can't play MP3 files in JuK

When i try play a mp3 file, with juk, the system says this:

I have installed xine-phonon and it is uses default.
I have tried installing gstreamer phonon (with all official of the repository plugins) but I have the same problem... I can't hear anything...
I have tried installing pulseaudio but... nothing...
I have tried installing oss but.... nothing
I have tried erasing the file ~.xine/catalog.cache but... nothing...
some web pages says solved it issue installing a package called libxine-ffmep but it is not in pacman...
really I tried many options but I can't solved this problem
of course, I can play mp3 files in the command line (throughout mpg123) and they sound good...

[solved] dolphin do not play mp3 in sidebar

As i navigate to my music-folder and mark an mp3-file, dolphin shows on the seidebar a little player with some extra information like Typ or Tags. But if i trie to play this file with the button, nothing happens. If i try to move forward within the file with the slider, i could only move the entire window.
Maybe i miss a package?
qmmp plays all files well.

Check in System Settings > Multimedia if phonon outputs sound. Check if amarok or dragonplayer play mp3 files. If you're using phonon-gstreamer, you need gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins to decode mp3 files.

Bill, you ignorant moron. Turn off the ultra secret hidden shuffle diabolically placed behind the album cover. Just tap the album cover to expose the sinister little shuffle icon on the right. Is it blue? Well, tap it until it is no longer blue! Also, make sure you are in your playlist and not the genius playlist.

The first action in that action set play the rest of actions in that action set it does not play all actions. That would require a Photoshop script to retrieve all the loaded action sets and do the action in each. Why would you want to run random actions.
That first action in the set was the last action recorded in the action set. Started with a make snapshot named normal then select that snapshot then play the next action in the set, The select snapshot normal and play next action is repeated till the rest of the action in the set have been played. Then a stop message is displayed. The other actions in the set make a group add their effect and make a snapshot. If you uncheck the stop step you could even batch this action, The stop would stop the batch process.
Just expand the actions and action steps and read the steps. Actions are easy to record and edit. The action palette is a full function action editor. You can single step and edit at the same time. Reading action is a good way to learn how to use Photoshop and you will know if an action is going to destroy work you have dons on a document like flatten you work.

How do you play an album from start to finish without mixing the songs?

I may be old-fashioned, but I want to play my albums from start to finish without having the songs mixed. I have tried almost anything, but it kips jumping randomly from song to song on an album. Extremely annoying if you are listening to a concept album like Berlin by Einstürzende Neubaten!!

I create a page where visitors should be able, to
1. listen direct to the file (solved this adding a flashplayer)
2. subsuscribe to a podcast (solved with lemonz dream podcast maker) and last
3. Download the file direct
so, if Visitors want to do point 3. Do they need the ProVersion? Do I have to make a .zip and add this also to the side.

Create a link to the MP3 and tell the vistors to save the file. Add the words +Right-click to save+.
Or create a zip file and link to it. Clicking the link will usually download the zip file. Hopefuly they know how to unzip it.
Or ignore these solutions and just tell them to subscribe to your podcast.

How do I merge two accounts into one account that contains all the files from both?

When I was running my MacBook Pro under Snow Leopard, I had one account for business that was encripted and another account that was unencripted for personal. Now, under Lion, the whole disc gets encripted so I don't really need two acounts. How do I merge the accounts together into one account and retain all the files from both?

You will need to add an Apple - AirPort Express to be able to stream your iTunes data to your amp/speaker setup.
