[SOLVED]How to show desktop by moving mouse pointer to a corner?

I did it in ubuntu with a easy compiz-fusion config tool. But I totally forget the name of the tool.
Now I want to do it in archlinux, but I cannot find how.

I think it is Fade to Desktop in the options for it you can set what ever corner or side of the screen that you want. Mine is set for the top left corner (KDE). I could be wrong though I am at work right now and my memory sucks.

This is what I've put in rc.xml:

With that I can make my sound volume louder if I hold WIN key plus scroll up or volume lower if I scroll down. I also tried to bind 2 mouse buttons together where I would have to hold one mouse button while scrolling, but it's not working so I am not sure if it's possible.

Moving mouse pointer to menu dims window and shows all open windows at once

when i'm in safari and i move my mouse pointer to the upper left corner of a window that is almost full screen, that window dims and a black bar appears in the middle of this window with a discription of it. as an example
APPLE=SUPPORT-DISCUSSIONS-POST MESSAGE:NEW THREAD
if i have 2 windows open one shows lower left and the other upper right and i have to click the mouse button on the window i was using to get it back and get the other behind it.
is there a setting in preferances that causes this that i can change?

This is what happens for one of the active corners for Exposé, if ("all windows") is the upper left corner. Take a look at "System preferences" , Dashboard & Exposé.

Why my mouse can't show scroller when the mouse point moving to right side?(Safari 8.0)

It's very annoying for me in Safari of Yosemite about scrolling by other brand mouse.
When I'm using other brand mouse(3 keys), my mouse point swing to the right side in Safari being ready for showing scroller,
but nothing happen. My habit will be using left mouse key to scroll if I don't use my trackpad.
My only way now is that scrolling my middle key of mouse making scroller show up and click the little bar, but it doesn't feel like previous version.

How can I capture text below mouse pointer

Hi all
I need to capture a word when mouse pointer click on it (like babylon application does), this text is not only placed into any swing text component, It could be from a pdf doc, html page or anywhere across the desktop (windows or linux).
I don't know if this is reachable via Swing. I don't know when to start.
If someone has any clue, please reply.

David.Narrow your scope to make it doable, the project is probably too broad for you to fit in comfortably.

How do I disable the annoying mouse pointer ballons when mouse is over text

when I point my mouse pointer to a bookmark or underlined text in say an email or even on a website I get those annoying balloons that popup with info and maps etc on what I am pointing at...I want that feature disabled it's extremely distracting and I cant find how to do it can you help? I am running Win7 and Firefox 4.01

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

How do I edit out the mouse pointer from Video Demos?

Color changes when moving mouse pointer

Hi,
I have an issue that, when I move the mouse pointer over the controls of the video (when playing quicktime movies in full screen) that it goes darker and looks a lot better!
But as soon as I move the cursor away from the controls, the image becomes brighter, loses contrast and on the side is a green oder pink stripe.
Funny is, it does that in quicklook too, but not only in full screen!
the weirdest thing ever is... it did that on my old windows machine too!!!!!
I thought when I buy a mac it will go away... but apparently not... very disappointing!
I have googled the whole internet, but apparently I am the only one with this issue... or maybe not?

Is anyone experiencing screen flicker when entering a search or moving mouse pointer towards results on google search page?

I have a new medion laptop and have version 4 of firefox installed
and am noticing that when conducting a search from tool bar (google) my screen flickers after pressing the enter key or when I move my mouse pointer towards the google results.
I do not get the same problem when using either internet explorer or google chrome, suggesting that either firefox or one of its plug ins is to blame!
I carried out the same search for the word Apple all using the google search engine preference.
Interested to know if anyone can help

Excellent suggestion to disable Add-ons. The problem on my system was the "Optimize Google" add-on. I went to the add-on's home page and it's defunct, so we can't expect updates that will fix the problem. So I deleted it from my system and everything is rosy.

Mouse pointer jumps to corner of secondary screen

We just upgraded to a new server running the latest Solaris with Sun VDI 3.1 which includes Sun Ray Server Software 4.2. I have multihead enabled and have 3 stations with dual-monitors/Sun Rays. On the second monitor, especially when dragging or scrolling, the mouse pointer jumps to the top-left of the screen. All three of us are experiencing this. Two have xinerama extension enabled, one does not have it enabled and says he's seeing the same behavior with the mouse. We have mix of Sun Ray 1G's and 2's, and one I'm using is a 170. I did not experience this with our old server running SRSS 3.1. Anything I can do to fix this problem? I appreciate any help.

[SOLVED]How to show/retain systemd messages like in Debian/Ubuntu?

So I'm just in vanilla install, nothing fancy. But I see that there were very few systemd messages at boot, only fsck's at partitions, unlike in Debian/Ubuntu where it shows everything? How do I make it like that?

The computer is an old one. Thus the animation of app icon under mouse in kde is sluggish and jumpy.

Suppose one wants to let an Applet user to enter a new item in a JComboBox
and the permission is given whenever the blank item (which is one existing

of the blank (similar to a JTextField, the cursor is not at the left end). So if the
user does not left-shift the cursor, after entering an item, for example "cat",
the item appears as " cat ", and NOT "cat " as desired. So the key is
to set the cursor at the beginning so that users do not need to left-shift the
cursor (save users some work) to get the desired "cat ".

Mouse pointer goes to corner

I've been having a problem with my USB apple mouse (not mighty) on my imac G5 where suddenly the pointer goes to one corner (not specific one) without doing anything in particular. I don't think is the surface, I've changed and made some test with different ones, Any ideas?

My cheapo basic Microsoft optical mouse did that on one of my Macs. Strangely, it did not do it on my other Mac, so I just switched the mice. It might just be a mechanical defect. Also, the older clear top USB Apple "Pro" mouse had a design weakness where the cable at the mouse body would start to fray inside from repeated bending. There might be a short circuit developing because of this issue. I fixed one of those using the instructions on the web. If you think that might be the problem (and it gets worse), take a look...

Show desktop no longer works in Quick Look Full Screen view

Is anyone besides myself missing this functionality in Lion? Previously in Snow Leopard, you could be looking at a full screen slideshow in Quick View (by doing cmd+A and hitting the space bar then the full screen arrows) and at any time you were able to do a gesture swipe in order to show the desktop (or you could use a hot corner or keyboard shortcut) and then swipe back down to restore the full screen photo or slideshow. This function is now either broken or just ommitted all together for some reason.
I just can't figure out what logic there was in removing this feature. Anybody care to guess ?

I had the same problem (the "show desktop" function didn't work in the corner, nor after pressing the keyboard button) and I found no real fix even after an extensive research, including a restart, permission repair, deleting some files/cache from the Library folder and so. THAN I discovered a function in Onyx which turns the "Mission Control" on and off. It was off (unchecked) in my case, so I checked it on and voilà, all of sudden the "Show desktop" function works again! Hot corners as well!
In Onyx -> Parameters -> Mission Control -> Turn on Mission Control.
