[SOLVED] java-common-1-7 breaks Eclipse

SOLVED: upgraded the java-common again, installed jdk8-openjdk with depends, fired right up
The error message I get looks like this.
http://i.imgur.com/PaWC2Vu.png
Not really sure what to do.
I've tried downgrading Eclipse, and then doing a clean wipe and reinstalling.
I removed my .eclipse folder to no avail (tried that first).
I also tried grabbing a local copy of Eclipse to install from my /home dir and I get the same error message with that.
Eclipse has been running for days, and i recently restarted it. I had the problems, and saw that this package was upgraded it, so I downgraded it and still have the same problem.
Any help is appreciated.

    Solutions: Bounce the applications and check the arguments if you can increase it.  It is due to memory issue
    You can set these values in CommEnv.sh (.cmd for windows) file located in the weblogic_home/common/bin directory.
    This gets applied to all the domains under that wls home.
    If you want to make the changes to specific domain then edit the SetDomainEnv.sh file located under the domain/bin directory.

    Hi,
    after updating, did you get back to Run configuration and press add required plugin again?
    If after update there are modifications, it means that you are not using a Target Platform. I recommend to use one in order to have a stable base against which to work on. See documentation.

  • [Solved] Java 1.5.0_06 + Subversion 1.3.0-1 - Eclipse cr

    I just upgraded to the latest Java 1.5.0_06 from the extra repo. I'm using Eclipse 3.1.1-2 and Subversion 1.3.0-1, also from the extra repo. However, Eclipse keeps crashing since installing the newest Java version, with a JVM terminated exit code=1 error. Looking through the hs_err_pid.log files, it is always related to Subversion.
    Removing Subversion and changing the Settings in Eclipse from using JavaHL (JNI) to JavaSVN (pure Java) eliminates the problem.
    Can anyone else confirm that Java 1.5.0_06 and Subversion 1.3.0-1 are incompatible, and if so, is there an updated Subversion on its way? Or is the problem related to the way that the Tigris.subclipse plugin in Eclipse uses Subversion? Mind you that the plugin does in fact work when just using JavaSVN (pure Java) which does not require Subversion to be installed.
    Kind regards
    Simon

    hjorthboggild wrote:Sunnemer, one more question for you: Can you have the Subversion package excisting on your system when using Eclipse and SVN (with the JavaSVN option)
    I've installed subversion and eclipse via pacman, the subclipse-plugin via the eclipse-update-manager. I set up an local repository and where able connecting my running svnserve without any problem. If i remember correctly JavaSVN doesn't support accessing the repository with file://path/to/repository/project.
    Set-up steps:
    1. edit /etc/conf.d/svnserve to set the repository root (-r /path/to/repository)
    2a. svnadmin create add /path/to/my/repository/root/project
    2b. edit /path/to/my/repository/root/project/conf/*
    3. svn co svn://localhost/project
    4. create some files and add them to your repository
    svn add filenames
    5. svn commit
    How did you set up your subversion repository? Have you ever tried to checkout an existing project with:
    svn co svn://localhost/my/repository
    Maybe there is something wrong with you server configuration. Have a look at http://svnbook.red-bean.com/ .

  • Windows 7 x64 RC, Java 1.6 update 14 Eclipse crash

    Hey folks. I've poked around on the forum and Google, but I can't find anything recent matching my problem. I'm posting this on this forum, as well as the Eclipse forum, in hopes of resolving this quickly.
    I have installed JDK 1.6 update 14 on a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit. I can compile and run a simple Hello World class just fine. I have set my path appropriately, but when I launch eclipse, the JVM terminates with the error in this screen shot:
    [http://www.johnsoncs.com/images/eclipse_crash.png]
    Does anybody have any suggestions/ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ryan Johnson

    As of today the following is the list of windows OSes that the lastest version of Java (Version 6 Update 16) supports.
    Windows 2000 , Windows XP , Vista , Windows 2003 , Windows 2008 Server
    Note carefully in the above that it doesn't say windows 7.
    Thus if you attempt use it on Windows 7 it might or might not work. It might not work initially and it might not work in some odd way that you are only going to discover on Sunday night at 2am when your 24x7 app is no longer 24x7.
    Now if you want Sun to fix this problem (no version for windows 7) then the very best way is for you to establish a sales or support relationship with Sun. And then use that to push for a version. Since 1.7 is supposed to be released shortly you are going to need a really big monetary relationship to make them do anything. (I looked and I couldn't find anything that suggests 1.7 will support Windows 7.)
    Other than that your choices are limited to the following.
    - Tinker with your OS and java in the hopes that you might get it to work and that it doesn't fail in some mysterious and serious way later on.
    - Don't use Windows 7.
    - Don't use java - at least not from Sun. And I just looked at JRocket and it doesn't support Windows 7 either.

  • [SOLVED]Java Plugin in Firefox 4 - no sound, pls hlp, tnx

    Hi!
    Okay, I hope this question belong here. I have FireFox 4, and JRE 6_25, and G3 (dunnow if that's the problem). As described in the docs, I'm supposed to make a symlink to the plugin. The about : plugins keeps reporting File: libnpjp2.so as file, not the plugin I need.
    I just reinstalled 6_21 (the one I know works) and have successfully made a symlink, but FireFox refuses to accept the link.
    Applets do not have sound - tested with RuneScape and the Bells applet, no sound, but there is the music in RuneScape...
    What manual do I read?
    Thanks for some tips.
    Thor
    (by the way: in case you're wondering: yes, I did sniff tru the forum and did not find the answer...)
    Edit - considering a cold-turkey re-install, there's too much breakage...Firefox that broke Eclipse (Xulrunner issues), Gnome3 that made the system less usuable (fall back only, here), VLC that takes the whole system down to the grave, and now JRE without sound.
    What's left of the system?
    After the update, things went into the fog...I read that the OSS emulations are not/no longer loaded by default. Does an Applet need these? If so, that could be the option: adding that into rc.conf...
    Please consider a reply, thanks.

    Hi,
    First of, to all that "came by" to read this post: thanks.
    The solution is:
    modprobe snd_pcm_oss
    as Root, this line needs to be in /etc/rc.conf.
    What lead me to this is the documentation and a line in pacman.log
    OSS emulation modules are not loaded by default, add to rc.conf if needed.
    I would very much like to mark this as solved...
    Thanks.

    Hi I think you are using the method elements() in a remote method.
    This method can't be Serializable!! Because it returns an Interface. Interfaces are never Serializable.

  • [SOLVED] Java causing startup issues

    Recently I tried to install intellij and since than have had a bunch of Java issues.  After uninstalling intellij and java (since it required jdk and I already had openjdk installed), then reinstalling openjdk the both the mysql and dropbox daemon fail loading.  If I uninstall Java everything is good again.  After having issues with intellij I tried to install Eclipse which also failed.
    Any ideas how I can get Java installed without everything else failing.

    I think the issue was due to running out of space in my root partition.  After freeing up some space and re-installing openjdk6 everything started up fine on boot.

  • Setting up Java 3D in linux for Eclipse programming...

    I'm trying to start programming with Java 3D, but I think I'm having problems with the initial setup. I installed Java3D using the amd64 bin script into the active jre: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/. I'm working in Eclipse and have included j3dcore.jar, j3dutils.jar, and vecmath.jar in the build path. It compiles just fine.
    My program is a very simple test from a tutorial:
    package tests;
    import com.sun.j3d.utils.universe.SimpleUniverse;
    import com.sun.j3d.utils.geometry.ColorCube;
    import javax.media.j3d.BranchGroup;
    public class Hello3d {
      public Hello3d()
        SimpleUniverse universe = new SimpleUniverse();
        BranchGroup group = new BranchGroup();
        group.addChild(new ColorCube(0.3));
        universe.getViewingPlatform().setNominalViewingTransform();
        universe.addBranchGraph(group);
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        new Hello3d();
        System.out.println("blah");
    }And I get the following exception when it runs:

    A late reply but I encountered the same issue. For anyone who googles this thread and everyone else I have a solution!
    Use Sun's JRE! It seems GCJ doesn't support the API 100% so what you need to do is
    $ sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jreand then in Eclipse change the default workspace JRE or the project JRE to the new one. Eclipse apparently only scans the system for installed JREs on first run so you need to add it manually:
    Right click on project, select Properties. Go to panel Java Build Path and select tab Libraries. Select your JRE from this list, it should be named similar to java-1.5.0-gcj-4.3-1.5.0.0, and click Edit. Click Installed JREs and then Add.
    Enter a descriptive JRE name, such as Java 6 Sun JRE 1.6.0.x and then enter the path where the JRE is installed - on my Ubuntu machine it's in +/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre+.Select OK twice, select the new JRE as the default for all projects in the workspace or select it via the Alternate JRE setting which will only use Sun's JRE for this project.
    Good luck!

  • [SOLVED] Java Font Too Small in OpenBox

    I usually use Cinnamon, but decided to give OpenBox a whirl again. I am encountering a problem with OpenBox and the size of fonts in Java apps. I'm using the Oracle JDK, not OpenJDK.
    These first screenshots show the font on OpenBox being too small:
    http://www.dadburn.com/linuxscreenshots … tprob1.png
    http://www.dadburn.com/linuxscreenshots … tprob2.png
    As you can see, the fonts used for the controls is super tiny. As can be seen from the second example, the font can be configured in the editing portion through the applications. But the controls themselves remain too small.
    When I log into the SAME account, but use Cinnamon, the fonts are fine. Reference:
    http://www.dadburn.com/linuxscreenshots … tprob3.png
    http://www.dadburn.com/linuxscreenshots … tprob4.png
    So the only difference in these screenshots are the fonts. And the only difference is that I am using Cinnamon vs OpenBox. I;ve searched Google and the Wiki and the Forums, but I'm either not using the proper search terms or just overlooking the results. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
    Also, I am using the fontconfig-infinality stuff. I don't think that matters and again, Cinnamon works and OpenBox has too small a font. And the problem is only on Java apps, not other things.
    Thanks in advance.

    I've done more digging. I have this in my /etc/profile:
    export _JAVA_OPTIONS='-Dswing.systemlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel -Dswing.defaultlaf=com.sun.java.swing.plaf.gtk.GTKLookAndFeel -Dswing.aatext=true -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on'
    Well, this screws up gdx-setup (the first screenshot). If I only use
    export _JAVA_OPTIONS='-Dswing.aatext=true -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on'
    Then gdx-setup looks fine. Netbeans was still messed up either way. I did find that it seems Netbeans has issues with the GTK+ look and feel on non-GTK platforms. So I reverted NetBeans to the (ugly) Metal theme and now the fonts are bigger.
    So I am marking this as solved. It seems that the GTK+ look and feel is just not happy on non-GTK+ platforms. I guess that makes sense in a way.

  • Java 7 update 21 breaks all existing JWS desktop shortcuts on windows

    I just updated from 1.7u17 to 1.7u21 and all my Java Web Start shortcuts broke because I no longer have C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe.
    I can "reinstall" the web start apps or delete their shortcuts and re-create them and they work because they now point to C:\Windows\System32\javaws.exe.
    Earlier in the Java 7 series I had all my shortcuts break because the opposite had happened. System32\javaws.exe disappeared and new shortcuts pointed at SysWOW64\javaws.exe.
    What can I do to make these shortcuts more stable, short of not using web start?
    System:
    Windows 8 Pro x64
    Java 1.7 update 21

    We have the same problem every time an Java update is deployed.
    We receive errors like "java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\61\56122c3d-737a9565 (Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden)", (~"System is unable to locate the file"), as well as CouldNotLoadArgumentException[ Angegebene Datei/URL konnte nicht geladen werden: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\61\56122c3d-737a9565].
    But if one looks into jcp (Java Control Panel), the application is listed as "installed application". And if you delete both links, in Programs and on the desktop (*because Java Web Start does not create not one of them if it finds just one of them*!) you can start over again and everything is allright, without the need to reinstall the application itselft.
    Does one have an idea for a workaround?

  • Java 6 Update 10 breaks Netlet

    Running JES 05Q4 last portal/srap before Portal 7.
    Java 6 Update 10 with the "defaulted to on" Next. Gen Plug-In throws this:
    gateway port : 443
    Java version : 1.6.0_10
    Proxy type : null
    java.lang.NullPointerException

         at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
    Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException
    Idea's other than disabling the plugin.

    From Sun Support. It solved my issue.
    Suggested Fix:
    Install latest JRE version 1.6.0_11 and ensure it works fine.
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin>java -version
    java version "1.6.0_11"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_11-b03)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 11.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)
    Take the backup of firefox plugins (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins) directory that
    contains npnul32.dll & npdeploytk.dll
    Example: backup contents copied to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\orig
    Goto JRE6 bin (say C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin) directory and copy the following np*.dll files
    to firefox plugins (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins) directory:
    npdeploytk.dll
    npjpi160_11.dll
    npoji610.dll
    npt.dll
    Then copy the following np*.dll files from JRE6 new_plugin
    (say C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\new_plugin) directory
    to firefox plugins (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins) directory:
    npdeploytk.dll
    npjp2.dll
    Finally ensure you've copied the following files (np*.dll files) from both JRE6 bin and
    bin\new_plugin directory to firefox plugins directory :
    npdeploytk.dll
    npjp2.dll
    npjpi160_11.dll
    npnul32.dll
    npoji610.dll
    npt.dll
    The above specified steps are derived from the following link:
    Source: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+the+Java+plugin+with+Firefox
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    # Workaround if Java is not detected: On most systems, the Java plugin files are detected via plugin scanning if the required registry entry exists. However, in some cases, Java is not detected unless the Java np*.dll plugin files are copied from the Java application folder bin folder.
    Note: The following steps should be executed only as a last resort, as each time Java is updated the outdated plugin files must be removed and the newer versions copied over. For more information, see these notes.
    1. Copy the np*.dll files for your version of the JRE from the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2re<version>\bin\
    2. Paste them into your Firefox plugins folder, which is typically in the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins
    3. Important: If copying the Java plugin files to the browser plugins folder does not activate Java after restarting Firefox, remove them from the folder.
